Quote: "Amacha and I get them to chase us, which is easy. We can pretty much use Amacha's usually approach, the will o' the wisp lure. And then," Skipping along to the chiming of her silver bells, the delicate Cery-Flutter mare enthused. "Then, all we would have to do was get the Skinwalkers to-" Quote: With a loud sigh Amacha cut in, drowning the words of the mare at her side. "Listen, Dya, you know you're my best friend. I'm not saying it's the absolute, knock-down worst idea I've ever heard-" Quote: "I'm saying that." Their stallion companion interjected with a grumble, his tentacle mane writhing with uncertainty. "I am very much saying that. Without a doubt, I am saying that. Would you like me to say it again, louder? That is actually the absolute, knock-down worst idea I've heard you have.. And keep in mind that you are my best friend too... So I've heard most of your ideas, and I usually rescue you from them. Knowing all of that, I think you should appreciate where I'm coming from on this." Quote: "Lotan, that isn't exactly helpful." Amacha scolded fondly, her leonine tail flicking idly as she drifted close enough to brush against his shoulder. "Not to say it's incorrect or uncalled for, but it really isn't all that helpful. Now, Dya, you know I'm all for trapping Skinwalkers." Quote: "So why don't you want to try this plan?" Dya pouted, giving Amacha and then Lotan a sulky look. "I am all for trapping Skinwalkers like you do and I know this plan would work!" Quote: "We're not for it because it's idiotic to go baiting something that isn't hurting you, Dya." Lotan rumbled, frowning down at her with the stomp of one heavy hoof for emphasis. Even at their full size, the flutter-cross mares were significantly smaller than he was, and he wouldn't jostle them for emphasis when a solid stomp would do. "I want you -both of you- to be safe. What kind of friend am I if I let both of you get eaten by miffed Skinwalkers? It would be awfully lonely without you two to talk my ear off, anyway." Quote: Dyani gave into the urge to giggle, shaking her head and sending her silver bells to chiming once again. "You're too good of a friend to let us get eaten, Lotan, we all know that."
A moment later, the sea and sky painted mare grew more serious. "But just because they're not hurting me directly doesn't mean they aren't hurting others. A Skinwalker is a Skinwalker, after all. Well, most of them without the gems, anyway. I've heard the gems are a good thing, maybe some of those are better? But if they're evil, wiley walkers then they will hurt someone and we should do something about it." Quote: "I have also heard that the gems can be a good thing, though I have not yet had the fortune of speaking to those that can make them..." Amacha gave a faint frown. "Do either of you know of any Angeni we could talk to about them? Then maybe we could get more information about them, and find out if they are actually making a difference." Quote: "That sounds like a much better use of our time than baiting Skinwalkers into crazy traps in the woods, if you ask me." Lotan murmured, giving them a hopeful look. "Not that you guys usually do, because it's more fun to make trouble and let me find out about it later. But if you were asking, that's my take on the matter. Talking to Angeni about these gems is better than hunting Skinwalkers. Can we try that, at least? Before we stir up more trouble? What if I say pretty, pretty please?" Quote: Dyani glanced up at him, grinning. "Considering you're friends with us, and a really scary Kalona mare... I don't know why you aren't more adventurous, Lotan. I feel like this is just an elaborate shy facade you put on, so we don't do anything too crazy." Quote: Lotan gave her his best flat 'you do not amuse me in the slightest my dear friend' look, the tentacles of his mane pausing momentarily. "Would any of it work? Does it ever work, Dya? I feel like you keep inventing new schemes to give me gray hairs... My coat will be silver by the end of the year, if you two have your way." Quote: "I'm not sure why that would be cause for fuss, Lotan... I think you'd be dashing in silver." Amacha gave him a playful grin. "Why don't you let us spook you a few more times, just to be sure? Certainty would be best, after all. Just a few tests, you'd hardly notice some stray gray hair, right?" Quote: With a playful glare Lotan shoulder-checked her, grumbling the whole time. "You've a cold, cold heart, Amacha Nigella. Picking on me and planning to scare me out of my wits. All so my coat turns gray and you get to laugh about it? Wicked lady indeed." Quote: "You adore me, admit it." Amacha giggled, shouldering him in retaliation. "I mean it, a few silver hairs could be quite dashing Lotan... Just think about it, we'll pick this up again later." She gave a delicate shrug and then drifted back back toward Dyani, shouldering the mare in affection. "Maybe we should lay off on the Skinwalker hunting for now and find something that's a little slower paced. Lotan would be awfully conspicuous if he's all ghost gray from fright."

Quote: Dyani made a low, thoughtful humming sound. “Amacha has a fair point, Lotan. I am sure you would be quite dashing with some silver in your hide. I’m not saying she’s right and that we should terrify you until you’re completely silver, I’d miss your coat all shades of the sea.. But a few probably wouldn’t hurt.”
Turning to her companion, Dya gave a bell-like laugh at Amacha’s words. “Skinwalker hunting does get a little dull, and soon enough it’ll be time that many of them hibernate anyway. We should think of something to do in fall and winter, a little quieter so that Lotan has something like a vacation.” Quote: “I can hear you both, I hope you are aware.” The draft stallion muttered, craning his head over Amacha’s to nose at one of Dyani’s ears with a playful snap. “And if my opinion matters at all, which is unlikely, I will grant-” Quote: “Extremely unlikely.” Amacha chimed in, giggling. Quote: “I can hear you both, I hope you are aware.” The draft stallion muttered, craning his head over Amacha’s to nose at one of Dyani’s ears with a playful snap. “I do not find either of you humorous in the slightest, I think you should know. And if my opinion matters at all, which is unlikely, I will grant-” Quote: “It’s so sweet that you think so.” Amacha crooned in false sympathy, her expression something both pitying and doubtful. Quote: “But possible.” Lotan countered, giving her a disapproving look. “I would sincerely enjoy any vacation you two would be inclined to grant. Even a season or two of not having to worry about you two chasing or taunting Skinwalkers would be a welcome reprieve. And while I am aware that shooting for the stars is ill advised, is there any chance I can bargain with you two to leave the Kalona alone as well? How about we forgo ‘anything that might cause grievous harm’ as a sport? Is there any chance of that?” Quote: “You are aware that your idea of a vacation and our idea of a vacation are likely very, very different animals to begin with… Yes? Still, as Dyani said, with wither coming many of the Skinwalkers will dig in and hibernate, like the bears they may resemble… They might also settle down in the south or in canverns or pits, with a collection of stock to feed on to keep themselves from having to hunt in the winter. The odds are, even if we wanted to lead them on a merry chase, they’d not be so inclined. Besides, my wings ache in the winter, I’d rather be tucked in somewhere warm and dry myself. With a cup of tea, if I can manage it.” Quote: "That is also true." Dyani nodded in agreement, giving a faint shiver and folding her wings close to her back at the mention of winter. "Though any sort of vacation for us would be something like a reprieve for you. Still, I would have to agree with Amacha regarding winter. I don't much care for flying in winter, and the threat of ice crystals on my wings is enough to make me find a valley with a hot spring and stay put until after the thaw. A hoof or two out in the snow can be nice, but only with somewhere warm to fall back to, and quickly." Quote: "So then, we are in agreement of a kind." Lotan offered tentatively, his eyes fixing on Dyani in particular. "Neither of you care for the bite of winter, and think a break is in order. Might I propose a different sort of entertainment for you two to consider for Fall and Winter?" Quote: “I am not opposed to suggestions." Amacha agreed quietly, her blue eyes bright as she glanced from Lotan to Dyani. She gave a shrug and then stepped on again, her dainty hooves rustling the dying grass and the carpet of colorful leaves that shifted with the wind. "The Underland will be enjoying the cold, I think. Many of the cats have plush coats that will keep them warm, and fluffy paws to help them pace over the snow. I'd be more likely to sink and have to slog through the drifts, and that's too much of a chill for me." Quote: Shrugging with a gentle chime of bells, Dyani smiled. "A bit of snow is different than being tapped in the chill until your wings freeze. If you have an alternative, I am not opposed to hearing it. New things are always a thrilling sort of adventure." Quote: “Well then you have it, Lotan. We're both amenable to the idea of a vacation. Are you going to use this chance to propose a seaside retreat? Introduce us to some of your friends that like to dwell closer to the sea?" Amacha tilted her head. "I've not spent as much time beside the sea as Dyani, it might be fun indeed." Quote: "I like a hint of snow as well. We could stay until the first snows, if you two wanted, and then move south. Or we could go after the fall festivals, and if you two were so inclined, we could make a day trip of a kind to see snow and give you a break from your vacation." The stallion proposed, pausing to consider Amacha's words. She had a point, it might be fun to introduce them to Ars and some of the others... He didn't know if the mulberry-coated Kalona mare would winter nearer the sea, or wherever her heart happened to lead her... "Going south would be a start, after the fall festival would be fine. And there are certainly friends along the coast I could introduce you too. Show Amacha the beach, introduce you around... What do you think?" Quote: "I like the sound of it." Dyani agreed with a wide grin. "I think we should, if Lotan doesn't mind showing us around." Quote: “I like the sound of it, too." Amacha smiled, flicking her tail happily. "What do you think, Lotan? Do you mind showing us around for a season or two? We'll try not to cause too much trouble." Quote: “Sounds like the best offer I can hope for, from you two." He teased with a smile. "Alright ladies, it would be my genuine pleasure to take you both on a 'vacation'. Let's give it a try.” Quote: “Excellent!" Amacha enthused, dancing in place. "But first, let's hurry along to the fall festival. I would hate to miss out on the sweets, and I want to see the lights and things!" ((Halloween Here))
