 It was getting late and Ctet knew that she had to get out. She had to leave home now. Before it was too late and she would have to remain in her homelands for the rest of her life. It was something that the mare absolutely did not want. Or maybe it was just that she wanted to venture around before settling down. but all she knew was that she was not going to be stuck here. She was going to make a change for once.
'Maybe I'll even find my long lost friend,' she thought, remembering the strange stallion she met early in her foal days. It was time to leave, and her uncle, Loddigesia agreed to help her escape.
So now she just had to wait for him to show. She was unable to fly, and he promised that he would scout the skies for her. Although she did not like the stallion, they were like the same. They both wanted a way out, but she did not make any promises to her family to remain yet - maybe someday, but not anytime soon.

 'Oh, no, I'm late!' The stallion soared the skies, finishing his last patrol for the day, thankful to not have found any trespassers into the thicket. If Mirabilis were to find someone or something she did not approve of, well, that would be the end of his world.
'Dumb Volaille. Dumb Mirabilis. Why did she have to choose him?' he spat in disgust as he finally reached his sister's home. The hippogryph came to a stop and gave her brother-in-law a frown. "You didn't show up today, Volaille. What if there were skinwalkers again? You know that I can't take all of them down by myself. Mirabilis has Miravilla and Ctet and Ku and Deaven to watch over her. But I need someone else to come with me. One by land, one by air. That's what we promised."
The stallion was starting to lose his temper. he raked his talons into the ground and drew out a map of their location. "Here. They were last seen here. And they're still there. What am I supposed to do by myself? Entertain them? Bahh! That's nonsense, and you know that!" Loddigesia ignored the frowns that his sister's family was giving him, but then left, taking flight once again.
Now to find Ctet and keep her from harm's way.
'Dumb Volaille. Not knowing that Ctet is leaving.'

 "Lodd!" The mare ran after her brother, only to stop and turn around to face her mate. "Volaille, what were you doing earlier? You promised Loddigesia and I that you would patrol with him. Our daughters are at risk if you neglect your responsibilities."
The mare sighed and looked at Miravilla who was playing with Deaven and Ku. "You don't have to look out for me. Lodd and I have done perfectly fine without you before meeting you." Which was true.
She flapped her wings, but refused to fly. She didn't ever want to fly. She was afraid of it. And thankfully her children did not possess that trait. They would not ever fly. Only Loddigesia would in their small family. Other than the familiars, of course. "Please, promise that you would actually try tomorrow. Our children should not have to meet one of those beats. And with Ctet's nativity and Miravilla's lack of trust, who knows what they might do to them. . ."
She was done and dismissed the stallion.

 Were they seriously going against him now? Volaille spat in disgust. How could Mirabilis demand him to do something? Of course he was going to join Loddigesia earlier, but Deaven found something which seemed more important at the moment.
"Deaven and I. .. we strayed. And we found. . ." The stallion stopped, thinking what to say through. He knew that the mare could easily be triggered and he didn't want to upset her even more. "We found a new shelter. It's bigger than our current. I was thinking that we could. . . move there instead. . ." Volaille looked at Mirabilis, who wasn't looking back at him and sighed. "I just thought that maybe a small move would not be so bad. Let the girls see a different side of the lands and maybe let them get a friend or two. You know that they too, should be finding familiars of their own at this age, right?"

Her eyes just remained on the ground and she hardly even acknowledged that Volaille was speaking. It was not like it mattered much nowadays. He just seemed to do his own thing lately. What about the responsibility of having a family? Were they not important anymore?
"I am stronger than you think I am, Volaille. But to ask me to leave our home? To go somewhere else? You can take the girls there with you and my brother will remain here with me. Don't worry about me, I'll be alright, but if you want to move to your newly discovered place, that's all on you, my dear. You know that I will always be here, and you will know where you can find me. Take Deaven with you, since he's yours, and Ku will remain here with me. If you or the girls do not visit once every moon, then I will send my brother or Ku out to search for you, but please, take care of them. It might be better for them to move, but I know that I will not go."

"I am not going to leave you, Mirabilis, don't be silly," he responded, nuzzling the mare. "But you do know that the girls are curious to see the outside world, right? They want to know what is out there passed the thicket. They hardly even explored the meadows. Perhaps I could bring them out with me and Loddigesia every once in a while? Deaven and your brother can scout the air while I remain on the groud, watching, protecting the girls."
Volaille then turned around and looked at Miravilla who was asleep. "Well, one of our daughters is here, but Ctet? Where is she? It's getting dark out and she knows to return before it gets dark!" The stallion panicked. "Mirabilis, dear, I'm going to have to go out. Loddigesia might be able to find her before me!" He then woke up his raven. "Deaven, come! We have to find Ctet and Loddigesia before it's too late!"

He eventually found Ctet in the meadows, waiting for him, just like he asked. 'Good. At least she's one of the few in this family that I can stand. It was really Ctet who changed his mind about children. She was too much for him to handle during her younger days, and he knew that he was not ready to be a father. But at times, the stallion felt he was more of his niece's father rather than uncle. Volaille didn't really seem to have a strong bond with his daughter and he wondered why. Maybe it was because he and Ctet were full of adventure, while on the other hand, Volaille just seemed to settle down after meeting Mirabilis. Sappy. It was too mcuh for him.
"Ctet. I will travel with you for a while. There's some skinwalkers around here, and I fear that we might run into some of them during your journey out."

Ctet almost bolted when seeing the shadow fly over her before realizing that it was just Loddigesia. "Any company would be lovely!" she chirped. "Uncle, what are skinwalkers? I know that we're supposed to stay away from them, but what are they really?"
The mare flipped her mane and trotted, keeping up with the hippogryph. "How far are you planning to come with me? Did Daddy know? What about Mommy? They aren't following us, right?" It was something to have her uncle come with her, but her parents? They were not to know of her whereabouts and she knew that her uncle too, wanted her to get out.
"Never mind all that. Thank you so much for everything you've done."
