__________the thunderclan forest camp is in a sandy ravine that used to be a riverbed a long time ago. the camp consists of a clearing edged with thick grass, dotted with tree stumps, and has a thick curtain of ferns and gorse shielding it. it is also surrounded by brambles, and the entrance is through a gorse tunnel. there is a tall boulder in the clearing, called the highrock, used by the leader to call meetings. the highrock has scuffed earth around its base. a vast, sandy clearing stretches to the highrock, which is near a clump of nettles. a bit away from the nursery is a crowded corner of ferns, which have a tall barrier of gorse behind it. at one side a fallen tree lies, its tangled branches folded on the ground. the fresh-kill pile usually lies at the side of the clearing. at one point, the camp was burned down in a fire, but the vegetation grew back quickly.
the nursery is under a thick bramble bush. there is a huge gap in the bush that leads to the clearing.
the apprentices' den is in a clump of ferns, beside a tree stump.
the warriors' den is under a bush, with a nearby nettle patch. the warriors' den is beside the nursery. it is said that the senior warriors sleep near the center, the warmest area. it is also an honor that senior warriors invite younger warriors to eat with them by the bush.
the medicine cat's den is a crack in a rock, near a small grassy clearing, a tunnel of ferns leading to it. inside there is a grassy clearing with a small pool at one edge. one tall rock stands at the side, split with a crack to keep herbs inside.
the elders' den is under a jutting branch in the fallen tree that has grass, moss and ferns sprouting from every crevice in the tangle of wood. there is a maze of twigs that eventually lead to an empty space among tangled branches.
the leader's den is a cave in the highrock which was carved out by an ancient stream, with lichen hanging over the entrance. inside the den is a quiet cove with a smooth floor and walls, a mossy nest at one side.

__________tallpines is located very close to twolegplace in the thunderclan forest territory. it is a controlled forest, grown for the purpose of wood for twolegs. in the midst of tallpines is treecutplace, described below. since it is controlled, the ground nearby is always bare, and can be a good spot to hunt for prey. the ground is also thick with layers of prickly, dead needles. treecut place is a logging mill where twolegs bring trees that were cut down by their monsters to be cut for them to use. this treecut place monster can be heard while cats come near. it is very close to tallpines. tigerclaw stated that the monsters spew enough poison to "make a kit go blind". the twoleg scent can already be scented here, as it drifts through the trees. tallpines consists of numerous rows of tall, straight, shady, pine trees. they were planted by twolegs so they could be cut down and used to build things. there is little undergrowth here, so warriors have to be careful when hunting in the area. prey can easily be spotted here, but so can the hunters (cats). the forest floor is flat, and puddles are very muddy and unhealthy to drink here.

__________the great sycamore is a large sycamore tree in the thunderclan forest territory. it is located near snakerocks, east of the thunderclan camp, closer to the shadowclan border. it is one of the tallest trees in the forest, described as a gigantic tree with its crown stretching beyond the canopy that shields the sky. its branches are strong all the way to the ends, and its roots are thick, twisting around its base and burrowing far into the earth. young apprentices learn and master their climbing skill and dare one another to climb higher. sometimes, it can also serve as the use of an ideal hunting place or a place to master stalking.

__________the owl tree is said that it was always home to owls. it is a massive oak, not far from thunderclan camp, and close to fourtrees. it is just across the stream from the sandy hollow. the tree is rather tall and has a hole in its trunk higher up, that is home to an owl who scatters its pods on the ground below. when prey is scarce, and on windy nights, warriors look to see where the owl is hunting so that they may find prey.

__________sunningrocks is a group of rocks back in the forest that the warrior cats used to bask in the sun. sunningrocks is located at the very border between riverclan and thunderclan in the old forest, next to the river. it is a large, flat rock formation in full view of the sun, getting very warm, therefore, it is a desirable location for warriors to take a break or elders to get out and stretch their legs. its sheer side shadows the river. there are lots of prey animals nearby.

__________snakerocks is located in the forest territory of thunderclan. quite close to the thunderpath, it is shadowed by the great sycamore, and is not too far from the camp. there is a leafy bank that spills onto the top of these rocks. snakerocks are a tumbled pile of sand-colored, smooth, round rocks with weeds and plants growing between them. the rocks are a steep slope. it is a good place to find herbs, especially chervil and yarrow, but any cat who ventures there has to be on careful watch for adders, since they choose to bask in the sun's warmth here. it is very dangerous for untrained apprentices to go near snakerocks due to the adders. they also have to keep a watch out for dogs, since dogs can choose to shelter here because of the rocks that provide shelter and the sun that provide warmth. it smells of stone, lichen, and the sharp tang of pines. there is a hole at the bottom of the rocks where cats and dogs can go into. one of the great drawbacks of snakerocks is that it attracts more adders and foxes than it does prey. prey usually stay away from the rocks, as snakes scare them off. the adders often hide in the crevices of the rocks. the thunderclan cats use snakerocks for a hunting ground. they mostly hunt in it during leaf-bare, when the adders aren't there. even if they hunt there in the other seasons, a guard is usually assigned to sit watch for adders while other cats hunt.

__________the sandy hollow is a location in the thunderclan territories in the old forest. it is an area filled with red sand and dirt and sheltered by trees, located in a slight dip just outside of the thunderclan camp in the forest. a river once ran through the hollow before drying up and leaving only a stream beyond the hollow. it is used by the thunderclan cats for aspects of training, particularly mentors drilling their apprentices in fighting and hunting moves. due to the soft ground, training cats are unlikely to get hurt while fighting. it can also serve as a well-known meeting place for warriors and apprentices alike, an example being apprentices meeting their mentors before assessments.

__________twolegplace is the general clan term for cities, towns, and villages- locations where groups of twolegs permanently live together with their kittypets, dogs, and monsters. the houses that make it up are known as twoleg nests to the cats. twolegplace is the place where twolegs live. the smell of twolegplace differs to clan cats very much. its warm strange smells mix with the sour, tangy smell of the thunderpath. no clan cat is allowed to hunt there. near the old thunderclan territory, a fence separates the forest and the twolegplace. many curious kittypets venture along the fence, seeing if what they have heard about the forest cats is true.
