A favor for Shiloh Beaumont Shiloh seems very intent on his art. He doesn't even speak to you until you catch his attention, but when you do his only remark is "I'm busy," followed by "no, I will not draw you."
He pauses briefly when you don't leave, readjusting his gloves as he eyes you with a scowl. When he turns back, his face finally lights up into an emotion other than neutral placation. "...Where's my pen? Did you...?"
You did not in fact take the drawing instrument, but it seems like Shiloh won't continue conversation without one, because whether you stole it or not it's your fault it's gone. Better find something suitable if you want to ask him anything...

To successfully complete Shiloh's favor, you must roll three six-sided die. These will select your solo/duo story elements! If an element has (Fail) next to it, disregard any further rolls and write a short post relating how you got there. You may then retry, but only after your first post is filled!
If you're soloing it, you just fill in that post with your character's progress through the favor. Should you choose to RP this favor with another player (or more than one friend!) please make a thread in the event forum and link it in your roll post when you're done.
FIRST DIE: Where are you going to look? 1 - Well, take a look at this cluttered up ******** of a room. Better check under the tables, maybe between the sketchbooks... 2 - You ask if he's sure he doesn't have it on his person. Shiloh looks like he's going to punch you. (Fail) 3 - Maybe one of the guests has a pencil or something outside... 4 - The hallway leading here? Maybe he dropped one on the way over. 5 - The... refreshments table??? (Fail) 6 - His workspace, duh. It's probably just buried under something.
SECOND DIE: What drawing tool did you find? 1 - A pen! Well, that was what he lost in the first place... 2 - A... paint brush? Well, some of the pictures here are paintings... 3 - A quill. Not even a real quill, just a shitty feather off of one of those fake boa things. (Fail) 4 - Good ol' dixon ticonderoga pencil. 5 - A... sharpie? Well, it's fine tipped at least... 6 - You just plain Didn't Find Anything. (Fail)
THIRD DIE: Do you successfully get the item? 1 - Yes, but the ink's run dry/lead is broken/brush is hardened. Oops... (Fail) 2 - No, but maybe you could try a different subject to get him talking? He seems to have calmed down some anyway... Check out that turtle shell on his head, or maybe the blatant ocean theme... 3 - Yes, and it writes so smooooooooth. 4 - Yes, technically, but Shiloh doesn't like how it writes, picky b*****d. (Fail) 5 - Yes, but the ink likes to blot and the pencil nub is dull. It'll.. do. 6 - No, but while you were gone it seems like he found another pen anyway, lucky you. Phew.
Please quote Melancholies when you're done for information dispersal!

Nathaniel Parrish - 25 / 25 - saying hello
He thought the art was very nice, all things considered. Even if the reception from the young man wasn't exactly...well, friendly, the place was perfectly nice. Except for the missing pen, which Nathaniel was now searching for with a great deal more rigor than he thought strictly necessary, but that was beside the point.
The pen, needless to say, was not by the refreshments table, though Nathaniel did get a cup of what looked to be wine on his pants in the process.
At least, he hoped it was wine.
It had better be wine.Quote: 5 - The... refreshments table??? (Fail)

Nathaniel Parrish - 25 / 25 - still lookin'
There had to be a better place for pens to hide.
Nathaniel hastily made his way far away from the refreshment table and more wine stains that he thought probably would never come out. Maybe, if he was careful enough, he could find the pen elsewhere - like someone's pocket or something.Quote: 5 - The... refreshments table??? (Fail)

Nathaniel Parrish - 25 / 25 - found a pencil wheee
Nathaniel emerged from the workspace triumphant, a pencil in hand. It looked relatively ordinary to him, but maybe it was something special to someone else. He tested out with a quick scribble - it wrote very nicely, he thought - before sidling over to where Shiloh was, holding it out with a smile on his face.
"Found it!" he said lightly. "Here you are."Quote: 6 - His workspace, duh. It's probably just buried under something. 4 - Good ol' dixon ticonderoga pencil. 3 - Yes, and it writes so smooooooooth.

25/25 Shiloh Beaumont (unmasked)
Shiloh looked at the pencil as Nathaniel produced it. "Took you long enough," he said, eyes rolling. "Anyway, what did you want? Information? Does it look like I know anything that might be of interest to you?"
The exhausted looking blonde rolled his eyes, scratching out a sketch on his easel.
"It's not like it matters anyway. Everything you're doing is useless. Preventing a murder? Why bother." He chewed on the end of his pencil, and then added rather darkly, "Even if you manage to figure it out, Madam Melany will prevent anyone from succeeding. The Spinel Lady she's always watching. Someone will die. Understand? I've said enough."
"If it comes to it, I'll try to stop you too. Don't say I never warned you.'"

Chris Watts || 25/25 || ******** up really hard. Good job
So, Shiloh wanted a pencil, or just something to draw with. He could do that, right? Even if he didn't remember Chris exactly it would.. be fine. Before he went to look though he gave Shiloh a look, asking if he had it himself. Hyejin had always tucked pencils and pens behind her ears and forgotten about them, maybe Shiloh was the same.
From the look he got, the answer was obviously no.

Chris Watts || 25/25 || Still really bad at this
Okay, so finding a pencil. He had to start somewhere and well, giving that he had irritated Shiloh enough he didn't want to dig around in his room. Maybe someone at the party had something?
He had met half the crowd it felt while finding the lost Child's guardian, so it didn't take him long to find someone to give him some form of writing material. It was even a fine tipped sharpie, which was better than he was expecting. When he opened the cap, it was hardened and unusable.
s**t. Back to square one.

"Are you really sure you don't? - Okay, Okay fine. sorry." Chris turned, wondering how the hell he was going to find a pen in all of this mess.

Finally deciding to tackle piles, he sorted through, finding something soft. A quill, maybe? It seemed weird but, everything here was weird. When he pulled it out though it was just a feather, nothing he could write with, and sighing Chris put it to the side. Why was this so damn hard?

Chris Watts || 25/25 || Drowning his sorrows in alcohol
Feeling outsmarted by a ******** pen, of all things, he decided to go "look" by the refreshments table. Who knew, maybe he dropped it there. In any case, the wine was a great thing to take a break with.

Chris Watts || 25/25 || Giving up for now because he's absolutely useless
Chris was a teacher. He taught students for a living. His whole life was surrounded by pens and pencils and things. How the ******** was a pen giving him this much trouble?
Shiloh had to think he was a ******** idiot AGAIN. Great.

Chris Watts || 25/25 || Finally not a dumbass. Good job Chris.
Okay, he was going to try one last time to find Shiloh something. ANYTHING. This time, instead of poking in his mess of a room and looking even more like an idiot, he decided to once again go ask part of the half of the ballroom he knew.
The "old highschool friends" he had run into came in handy this time, as for some reason of them had a pencil on them because it was part of her outfit. He squinted at her for a second, then back at the pencil. It looked alright, for the most part, but the nib was rather worn down from use as part of her apparel. But well, it was something and Chris made his way back to Shiloh.
"Here," He said, offering the pencil, "It seems I'm not totally useless, luckily."

alois scholz (unmasked) || 25/25 || tipsy
"Of all ze sings you could ask me for, you pick a pencil. Whatever." Alois was largely fed up with talking to the man given his stonewalling and pedestal praise for the Spinel Skank outside. "I sink I saw one of ze guests wis' one."
He left Shiloh to his drawings temporarily and ventured back out into the ivory hall. The bustle of the ball left most guests indisposed, but it mattered little when he found a discarded pen on one of the tables. "Zis should shut him up."
On a whim, Alois doodled circles on the palm of his hand and found little more than faint red marks. He tried on the table cloth to no avail. "Perfect. An empty ******** pen." With a solid wind-up, he threw the pen across the ivory hall, never to be seen by him again.
