Hyperborea was out walking around Korea Town when she felt the small ping of a page aura that she had never felt before. She was curious what world they served and besides she always considered it part of her duty as a knight to check on pages to make sure they weren't left in the dark on their powers. So she made her way towards the owner of the aura.

She found the page who wore a red vest with striped pants and not much else. "Bonsoir, how goes the night." She called out to him.

He'd been out on his own, something which he knew wasn't exactly safe. He knew if Erebus found out he might be lightly scolded, they did tend to spend a lot of time together, and he had a feeling a certain dark haired, green eyed, knight of Ganymede would scold him without hesitating. Hadn't the other told him, after that General had attacked him, that he wasn't to go out without the Knight or someone with him? The other didn't trust him.

Shaking his head to rid it of such thoughts he focused back on the egg bread he'd picked up from one of the free little street food vendors. It was only recently that he was seeing any turning up in this part of the city, maybe due to the cooling temperatures? Either way the bread was good and as he bit down into it he heard a voice - the owner to the energy signature he'd picked up only moments before biting into the steaming bread for the first bite of deliciousness.

Looking over to the white haired knight, noting the glowing marks and the clothing she wore, he stood slowly. "Annyeonghaseyo." Seeing as she had spoken in what he assumed was a mother tongue for her, French, he did the same. But he didn't continue it, he didn't want to lose her. "Goes good, how is you're night being?"

Hyperborea wasn't exactly sure what the language the man spoke was but she figured it had been a greeting. The glowing girl regarded the page with a friendly smile.

"Hyperborea, transcendent knight of the cosmos." She introduced herself with a small curtsy.

"Its going well, merci. Are you new to your knighthood? I wanted to see if you needed any help?" She said brightly.

Another bite from the bread, enough to finish it off, and once swallowed he spoke. Shaking his head as he did so. "No, Christmas gift.." He said gesturing to his uniform. He had been, both blessed and perhaps cursed, a night on Christmas eve last year. He had been a page for nearing a year, it was closing in on it, and he sort of felt it...felt like it had been so long. he felt...weak and unable to properly defend himself.

"Venice, of Ganymede." He would remember her name, but he didn't know about those marks on her or the words transcendent. he hadn't asked anyone else, though he had seen that one...back around the Lunar new Year. The one who had make that Hunger Games reference to him, he really didn't like him, he had glowed also.

"Transcendence?" He decided to question, to learn, and to ask her.

"Oh Ganymede so that's your world." She said making a bit of a surprised face. "I've meet your princess, she's an amazing lady. I'm glad I'm getting to meet one of her knights now. It's a pleasure Venice."

Christmas huh, so he probably has a good handle on things at this point. That's good. She thought with a nod to herself.

"Oh transcendence are these." She said motioning to the glowing lines and stars along her body. "They represent an unbreakable bond between myself and my wonder. They make it so that I can't be corrupted or have my starseed stolen, plus I can give people some of my energy."

"Only met her few times...three...maybe." Not that much but he at least knew her. he knew Erebus didn't know his, were there a lot of knights who didn't? He did wonder but he didn't know enough knights and had never asked - he didn't think it his place. "She is...very proper." Refined, proper, though he had caught her dressed down and far more casual than he'd ever expected to see her. Even people like her, he supposed, could dress down and casual every one in awhile, though he still felt very...different from her and his fellow Ganymede knights. It wasn't something he liked to think about, or dwell on, he didn't want Terry picking up on strong emotions he had...

"Oh! Very good...have had my starseed taken twice almost.." He said nodding his head as he spoke. That was very good. She looked young, and small, the protection was a good thing for her. He was glad to hear it, never mind he'd almost been grabbed twice and a General, a Lieutenant, and a Captain all thought he'd be better on the other side....nope - never mind that. he still wished he hadn't told the knight of Ganymede, their only knight as far as he was aware.

Hyperborea would be lying if she said she didn't feel a pang of jealousy. The most she had seen of her princess was during that big battle in Negaspace and she had still never had a chance to talk to her. But she smiled nonetheless "Yes that definitely seems like a fitting description." The princess did seem rather formal from what Hyperborea could tell.

Her hand refexively went to her chest with the mention of starseed pulling. "I've experienced it myself, I'm sorry you had to experience that pain as a page." She said earnestly. At least she had been a squire the three times her starseed had been ripped from her chest.

"Happened twice....as civilian - before being knight. Once as I am now." He answered. he'd had it happen twice, both times he'd been saved by someone else. Both times...both times he'd walked away from death - something some people never did the first time. Why him? Why not those other people? Why was he so lucky as to be saved? It wasn't that he wasn't grateful, he was, but he had to wonder why. Was it because he was a knight? There were plenty of others. It was survivors guilt, he knew it, it was something people felt and he did as well when he thought about it. Thought about his luck.

"What saved you? So you lived?" He asked, wanting to know, hoping it wasn't too personal. He knew for him it had been luck, luck and other people. But what about her? Biting down on his bottom lip, his right hand reaching for the necklace he wore and holding onto it. He hadn't really done it before but he tried to focus on what Terry was feeling, the calm and comfort, and cling to that in order to deal with his own feelings of guilt over living. He hadn't ever used the necklace, and the connection it created between them, like this but he knew if he focused enough he could feel the other and that helped right now.

"Was careless the second time...a General who wanted me when he was a Captain. Isn't the only one who wants me to change sides...thinks I would be good there."

"Hmm." She thought for a moment recalling the times her starseed had been stolen. "Well the first time it happened was shortly after I had been promoted to a squire. It was during a big battle, I was trying to escape with another knight who was a target for corruption but a captain teleported in front of us and pulled out my starseed before I could react. I'm not entirely sure what happened next but when I came to an older Cosmos knight had pulled me from the field and put my starseed back inside me."

"The second time was when I fought a half youma general. Though she never actually succeeded in pulling my starseed out she would have if my best friend, the senshi of war, hadn't used her eternal magic on her." She explained.

"And the last time was when I was fighting a corrupted super senshi. I lost my temper and she managed to rip it from my chest while I was distracted. I'm not sure why but she put it back and left." She still didn't know why Chrysocolla had done that, but it was lucky for her.

Nodding his head as the knight explained each time to him, Venice hoped he didn't have anything happen to him in a big battle. Who knows if anyone would even spot him if he went down to something like that? So many people and all kinds of things happening, it was good someone had helped the other knight - that someone had seen. He could imagine it going unnoticed in a big battle, having been down involved in the insanity at the beginning of this year.

Half youma though...that was new to him, he had never seen a person who was part youma. He hadn't thought it was possible, it was something to ask about though.

That had been what had taken his starseed when he was a civilian, a corrupted senshi.

"Half youma?" He finally did ask, dark eyes looking at the youngers violet eyes. "How is possible?" It didn't seem like it should be possible. Youma were like shadows but solid - right? So how could they and people...and it made no sense, unless you watched anime or some sort of fantasy book.

"Hmm, I'm not entirely sure on the mechanics but I've meet two Generals with that state the first one was half dragon and according to him it was a punishment from his superior officer for trying to purify. But the second woman who looks like a demoness seems to treat her yomafication as a point of pride, she was the one who tried to pull my starseed." She explained.

"Do you know how youma are made?" She asked, though it was not a subject she liked to think about.
PostPosted: Thu Sep 15, 2016 9:45 am

A point of pride? But also a punishment? Why such a scale there? That almost didn't make sense though peoples opinions did vary, it's what made people so unique and different, but why would something used as a punishment be something a person was proud to be? Was it not just a punishment but also something a person could chose? If so...why? Didn't that diminish from it being a punishment and seen as something bad? People really were odd creatures at times with how they all thought, he couldn't help but think that.

"I know they were once people...don't know how."

"You're right." She said grimmly. "If an inexperienced or uncaring officer tries to corrupt a civilian or order fighter they can pump too much chaos into a starseed, if they do that it breaks and the person is transformed into one of those monsters." She explained.

"So I would assume the process for half youmafication is similar, though I would imagine it takes a far more steady hand to keep the youma from fully taking them over. In a way I guess you could its their answer to transcendence since at least as far as I know there is no way to purify a half youma." She said, she felt so bad for Merlinite she hoped one day she would be proven wrong and he would be able to stand proud as the knight he was meant to be.
PostPosted: Thu Sep 15, 2016 4:34 pm

"Oh." Well, that explained where youma came from. He had known they were people but to have their soul shattered, by someone else, he couldn't imagine what they went through before it happened and during it - during the change. "Seems that, all youma, would be better punishment.." No humanity at all, and it would separate from the half youma which it seemed at least one officer was proud of.

"Don't like the idea of that...once people...and killing them." Though he also didn't like the idea of what they did as youma, or of them being stuck as youma. But....was there any human left in them? Even deep down?

"Yes...makes sense. Would be delicate to do...and...it can't be fixed? No one can?" If they couldn't fix a half youma than full youma were stuck also. So was the best thing to kill them then? To end whatever suffering they might be going through? But how old were some of them and had they been suffering? This was a whole bunch of morals issues for him...and questions.

"Perhaps it would but you have to try to think about it from their view point. The two half youma I've seen are Generals, while the vast majority of youma are feral creatures that can be rather simply taken out. The Negaverse is many things but stupid isn't one of them, I doubt they'd take the risk of loosing a General just for punishment. This way they get to have their cake and eat it to, keep the effectiveness of a General but add a youma's inability to be purified so that they can be fairly sure this officer won't turn traitor." She explained. Though deep in her heart she knew a half youma was not even the worse the Negaverse had to offer, her memories of being a General included scenes of a fair greater evil, an evil unique to corrupted senshi. She just hoped their were none of those things in this timeline.

She laid a hand gently on his shoulder sympathetically and gave him a look understanding. "Believe I know how you feel, when I learned what youma were as a page I felt terrible but I'll tell you what an Eternal told me then. A youma is so far gone that in most cases there is nothing of the human they used to be inside them, they are already dead the best thing we can do for them is insure they don't hurt anymore innocent people." She said to assure him. "Though if it makes you feel better we don't really kill them, we can't only a Royal can. We just...delay them, but even after dusting them they will reform in the rift at some point."

"Well no one can yet. But if I've learned anything in my time as a knight its that Order will find a way to win sooner or later its just a matter of patience and tenacity. If we don't give up hope then Chaos has no chance at victory. Just because no one can fix a youma or half youma right now doesn't mean someone won't be able to in future. At least that's what I truly believe." She said with a small smile.
