- This Rp is set when Enki is an Adol -
The black coated lioness sat back away from the young adol who looked almost nothing like his mother, though his colors were faintly hers. Though the closer Cora looked, the more she frowned, he really said nothing of his mothers line, though one could say the markings on his face slightly mimicked the ones Azu bore, as well as Cora herself.
He was large for an adol already, she would give him that, otherwise she was slightly disappointed in her grandson.
Enki sat at the rivers edge, his brothers had already started off on their own paths, but he felt the need to stay close to their mother. She had warned them of their grandmother, the lioness who only wanted them dead, and that was one of the reasons he found he couldnt wander to far from his mother. Who would protect her as she had protected them for so long?
Their father was no where to be found, and Enki had looked and came up with nothing. So screw him Enki thought with a huff, he didnt want or need him in his life. His mother had done the best she could, none of them had ever gone hungry, and when their paws had grown tired, one by one she carried them, either in her mouth or upon her back, carrying all 4 of them at once when needed.
No, he wouldnt ever be to far from his mother. She deserved to be protected until she could find a mate who would take care of her.
"Didn't your mother ever warn you about being out alone?" Cora asked, she didnt get to close to the boy, she wasnt sure where her daughter was, and well again she wasnt looking to take on the both of them on, she thought with a twinge of regret, she had recently gone rounds with a large male who thought her a prize to be taken, and well she hadnt completely came out of the fight without a scratch.
Enki chuckled at first before he turned his head and came face to face with the lioness who had haunted and hunted him his whole life. "Grandmother." He said in low tones, he turned completely towards her now, his half mane bristling slightly as he eyed her.
She didnt look much like his mother, but their eyes, they had similar eyes. Though where his mothers were warm, full of life and laughter and for him, love, his grandmothers were cold, calculated and seemed to chill one to the deepest places.
"Ah you know me then." She had to give her daughter credit, it was always a good idea to know the enemy, specially when her goal was to rip everything you love away and end your life. She stepped carefully closer, trying to hide her slight limp, she knew she was good, and she was strong but there was always someone stronger, meaner, better, and this last little scuffle only made her strive to be the strongest, the meanest, the cruelest of the land.
"Mother showed us you once, to make sure we knew, that we would never forget the face of the monster." She had just killed another lion when his mother showed them, she wanted them to see why they didnt stay in one place, why they were careful of strangers. They had seen, and learned that day that their grandmother was the bogey monster.
"Smart girl." Cora said with a snort, she wouldnt make it a habit of giving her daughter any sort of compliment. Azu was the last hitch in her plans, and so was this male and his brothers, once they were all nothing much skulls in her tree, then the real horror could start, they were only the beginning.
"What do you want." He snapped, he didnt like being around her. He was on edge, what did she want, was she going to attack, what was her purpose here?! The thoughts all slammed into one another and just made him all the more on edge, he didnt like the fact she had found him so easily, and came upon him making almost no sound.
"Easy boy..For the moment I mean no harm." She sat down, and lifted a single paw in a sign of peace, but she could tell from the way he paced, that he didnt trust her. Again, her daughter had taught them well, but she had gotten close, so very close before he had even known she was there. That wasn't smart at all, but would play into her advantage one day, so she would keep that tid bit to herself.
"That doesn't answer the question." He shot back in clipped tones.
"Cant a grandmother want to meet her grandson?" She almost choked on the words, she could feel the bile rise up in her throat as she swallowed it down, he would mature in a big boy, his grandfather had been a large male too. Their daughter though was on the petite side, Azu was even slightly smaller than her mother, again another reason to be disappointed in the chit.
"I'm not your grandson and we both know." Enki shot back with a snort, he wasnt going to be played by her. Not today, oh no she has only wanted to end his life, as well as the life of his brothers, and mother. "You are no grandmother to me, or my brothers and no mother to mine. Go back to the pits of hell you dwell in, and leave us alone." He growled at her, if he could get her to end this attack, this mission of hers then maybe they could all live normal lives.
Cora laughed now, and grinned at him wickedly. "Its not going to be that easy my dear boy, I wont stop, not until all of you are no longer taking breath, until your skull rests on the branches of my tree." She flicked her tail and spoke in the tone that one would use in scolding a cub. "And then, if by chance any of you spawn, then they too will die. Anyone you love, befriend, what have you will all meet the same fate."
"No." He tones snapped out, ending her words as he puffed out his chest. "One day I will end your plans grandmother, I will free my mother, my brothers and our lives from the madness that seems to have taken hold of your mind. We've now met, and there is no longer any reason for us to be near one another, next time we meet, I will be out for your blood." And with those words spoken, the young male turned, and waded across the river, coming out on the other side he cast one last glance back at Cora before he carried on, he wouldnt see his mother this night, instead he would aimlessly wander the land, to keep his grandmother off his mothers trail.
