A favor for the Prideful One

User Image

Pridey barely looks at you, but he acknowledges your presence with a sharp nod of the head. "Those two over there," he says. "Kick them out and I'll answer your question. They've been rude in the past and I shan't put up with it."
PostPosted: Fri Aug 19, 2016 8:31 pm

To successfully complete Pridey's favor, you must roll three six-sided die. These will select your solo/duo story elements! If an element has (Fail) next to it, disregard any further rolls and write a short post relating how you got there. You may then retry, but only after your first post is filled!

If you're soloing it, you just fill in that post with your character's progress through the favor. Should you choose to RP this favor with another player (or more than one friend!) please make a thread in the event forum and link it in your roll post when you're done.

FIRST DIE: Who does Pridey want kicked out?
1 - Two identical plant-people with bright yellow eyes
2 - A sharply dressed potted cactus and its avian date
3 - A pair of your allies, the other visitors (Fail)
4 - Fifty-four drunk cockroaches wearing two distinct fancy suits
5 - A pair of servants bickering over a tray of appetizers
6 - Two plant people, one of them pink with rosy vines for hair, and the other one reminiscent of a naked oak tree

SECOND DIE: How are you going to get them out?
1 - Tell them there's more sparkling wine outside the gates
2 - Grab them and "escort" them out
3 - Will them to ******** off using your rad magical powers
4 - Challenge them to a fight and lock them in the restroom once they're knocked out
5 - Politely tell them to go apologize to Pridey
6 - Assert that the gardens are actively burning down and lock the door behind them when they go to check

THIRD DIE: Do you successfully get them gone?
1 - Yes, but I caused a huge scene. (Fail)
2 - No, but I got a really funny story to tell Pridey when I get back.
3 - Yes, and it was perfect, because I'm perfect.
4 - No, and I think I need to get new clothes before going back.
5 - Yes, and I'm a bit ******** up, but I got it, okay? Jeez.
6 - No, but I got them to do something else that I think Pridey will like.

Please quote shibrogane when you're done for information dispersal!

Shun Kuroda 25/25 - Doin a lil favor

At some point, Shun had approached the Prideful one once more, seeing if it had any further insight to offer. Before he could actually do anything, his attention was turned towards a pair of plant-beings. It looked like one of them had flowers for... hair? It was an odd sight, to say in the least. But he supposed there were far stranger things on this side. He watched them for a few moments, and he could see why the Prideful One wanted them gone.

They appeared to be completely obnoxious.

With a sigh, the detective went on over to approach the duo. They were giggling amongst themselves. One glanced over at him and continued to giggle away.

"You have offended the Prideful One, and he wishes you to leave. Or in the very least, appologize for whatever it is you have done."

The two burst out laughing. They barely even acknowledged Shun being there otherwise.

"If you do not comply, you will be escorted out forcefully," he added, twitching slightly. Maybe he should have gone straight to that part instead of trying to speak first. This thought only became more prevalent when the two started to laugh even harder. One of them was even having difficulty breathing now, from the looks of it. All the while, Shun just stared at them, unimpressed, and unamused. This continued on until the one who had difficulty breathing just... collapsed in place. Their friend quickly went to make sure they were okay.

And it was then that Shun just slipped away. Yeah. Not dealing with that anymore. He made his way back towards the Prideful One.

"They are still here... but the one with pink flowers has laughed themselves into unconsciousness... somehow." he reported with a shake of his head, "I do not think they can bother you like that. So perhaps you can answer a question for me now? I would like to know your thoughts as to why this tithe is required. Who called for it and why?"

Nathaniel Parrish - 25 / 25 - trying to help

Needless to say, Nathaniel's attempts at trying to kick someone out did not go over too well - especially considering that the two people he was trying to throw out happened to be two people such as himself, and resulted in a very long discussion on being aware of your surroundings.

Nathaniel slumped away to do something else instead.

Nathaniel Parrish - 25 / 25 - trying to help

The plant people were -

- well, not cool, exactly; kind of eerie, actually, if he thought too much about it. But they were still plants and Nathaniel was vaguely in awe of them both as he looped his arms through theirs and began tugging them in the direction of the nearest door.

"So, do you guys need, like, sunlight to grow or anything?"

He came back several minutes later, Nathaniel brushing leaves off of his shirtsleeves, and flashed a smile at the deer.

"There you are, I've gotten them out of here for you."

Autumn Smith, gagging over bugs but succeeding her quest
How the ******** had these cockroaches gotten themselves into suits? Nope. nuh-uh. Autumn took it back, she didn't WANT to know. This was one of those weird things that Autumn didn't particularly care for answers about, particularly since it involved bugs. She shuddered to herself, but nonetheless went to where the reveling pests were having their shindig, and cleared her throat.

Apparently, the disgust over bugs was enough to alert the cockroaches that Autumn was out for their blood. Before they could scamper away, she grabbed the two suit-collars, one in each hand (and oh god, she could feel the bugs, yuck gross god damn it she REALLY hated bugs), and hauled them out towards the door. With no love loss, Autumn tossed the lot of them out to the yard, scowling.

She stalked back to The Prideful One, disgust evident on her face. She wasn't going to ask. She wasn't going to ******** ask. She hated bugs and she did NOT want any information pertaining to them, thank you very much.

"They're gone," Autumn grumped, wiping her hands on a towel she had collected along the way. "And that was disgusting."

Shun, who has amused the Prideful One, and Nate and Autumn, who have actually done the job, cluster before the Prideful One. Pridey considers them for a long moment, and then he says, "The sinister survivor is the most important person in this room. He could kill us all with a thought if he chose. But he doesn't."

[Temperance: 25/25 staring blankly at Pridey]

She opened her mouth, much like a fish, then snapped it closed. Then opened it again. Temperance couldn't very well toss out Jordan! It seemed as though this man was picking people at random. She crossed her arms and her mouth finally crooked into a frown.

"Sir, I do not meant to question, but..."

[Temperance: 25/25 ok this is better, buddy]

She raised her eyebrows at his next targets, luckily her mask covering her expression. "As you wish," she said, dipping into a short curtsy before heading over. The two in question were clearly servants, having some sort of heated discussion over food. Temperance grimaced. How was she supposed to get servants to leave? They would not really leave the premises; their jobs counted on that, only leaving their positions in time of an emergency. An emergency...

The golden-horned man hadn't really specified how far they had to leave. With a feigned sense of urgency, she hurried over to the two, not hesitating to interrupt their conversation and speaking in a low, desperate tone. "Ah, please, I am sorry to bother - I just saw a fire out in the gardens. I'm afraid it might spread and I truly know nothing of how to contain it. Please!" The servants looked from one to another. "It was just to the left of those doors!" Temperance pointed to the double doors leading to one of the side entrances to the garden. One of the servants sent down her tray of finger foods and started off, the other in close pursuit.

Temperance nipped along at their heels and, as soon as they had stepped outside, slid the deadbolt home on the doors. They would be mad later, she thought, and grit her teeth. Hopefully not too mad. With a swish of her skirts and a mouthed 'sorry', she headed back.

Jeremiah inclined his head slightly when the plant people were pointed out with a short nod. The detective slipped in between the crowd of dancing people, paying mind to those that were moving and stepping around them.

"Excuse me?" he interrupted them politely. They seemed to be rough-housing and ignored him. Jeremiah smiled politely and then disappeared. He reappeared between the two of them, fire flickering and licking at their clothing.

Very quickly they were trying to pat out the small fires that lit up.

"I actually am here to ask the two of you to leave? If you would remove yourself from the premises?" Except that apparently they were just now wide-eyed and quiet, scared that perhaps Jeremiah would light them on fire even more.

"We'll behave!" one said.

"Promise!" the other said.

Jeremiah shook his head, not sure if that would be enough but perhaps it would be. Playing enforcer was not that different than what he did normally. They seemed to take it to heart, however, and calmed down.

At least he could return to Pride and say that while they had not been removed, they certainly were far better behaved. (Never mind that that troublesome young part of him was terribly amused by all of this.)

"Thank you," says Pridey. He seems completely serious. "The Eldritch Gentleman is most talkative when plied with food. If you want to get in with the sinister survivor or the spinel lady, he's your key."

Pridey nods. "They're young and restless, but it's no excuse. If they're here, they were judged mature enough to attend..."

He puzzles for a moment over what information to give in exchange. Then he says, "If I were the giving sort, I'd try to trick some of the guests here into giving up their masks in order to narrow the pool of tithes. But I'm not. Are you?"
