After cleaning the house so that it was once again spotless, all except for Chalcedony's room and Chandra's room, Rajani set out. She had a small bag with her that had her food and of course her ever handy knife. Honestly she wasn't so sure where she was going but she'd been brave enough to ask a few of the locals if they knew where Chal had gone. They mentioned Tale since that is where his sons were most of the time.

So, there she was in Tale with a map in her hand and looking as lost as ever. "A giant x marks the spot would be great." The shifter girl gave a huff as she stuffed the map into her bag and looked through to see how she was faring on supplies. Rajani was low on food. Frowning at her own luck she lifted her eyes to look around. Sure there was someone or somewhere she could snatch a few things from then be on her way. She would have to pay them back when she could since Chalcedony had told her that stealing was a no go in his home. Now if she could only find someone....

Heras Box

Jacinthus was out early, on another hunt, this time around looking for something of a larger scale so that he would be able to divide the meat up between his own family and others that could use the meat. Over one shoulder was his bow, his quiver at his side, and behind him he was dragging along a travois to put the beasts he was hunting on. His plan was to go after a kinfa, feeling that if he was able to find a good sized one that he'd get all the meat he needed. If he was able to find one with eggs that would be even better as eggs were a rather rare and delicious treat. He knew that his mate wasn't a fan of meat but he wondered if he might enjoys eggs? It was something he would me sure to bring back to him to try if he was lucky enough to find a kinfa nest.

For now though his eyes were on the sky, scanning for any movement that would tell him that he was getting closer to where the kinfa were gathered. The sooner that he found one of them the better because it meant that he would be able to get to serious hunting one of them... though the work that came after would be a bother. There was nothing worse then plucking a bird the size of an adult kinfa. Maybe he could get help from his students he thought to himself, though if that were the case then he'd need to share the meat with them as well. If he did that he'd need at least two kinfa.

Alright! His goal was two adult sized kinfa and some eggs he thought to himself, moving along, eyes moving from side to side as he went ever forward.

Serin was smiling on her apparently! Just as she was looking for someone they all but walked into view! The only problem she saw was that they had a bow. Rajani wasn't overly fond of those that used that type of weapon. If only because it was hard to avoid at a distance, especially when running away from them. Then there was the fact that bow hunters were extremely aware of their surroundings. "A challenge it is then." She muttered.

As the tall man made his way along she fell into step behind him with her knife in her hand. Since his stride was large there would be no mimicking his steps, so she simply did her best not to make too much noise. Rajani was used to sneaking around a house with creaking floorboards so she had to wonder if she was any good at being sneaky on grass. The closer she got the more she let her eyes roam the man so that she would know where the goods were. When she thought she was in the clear she made her move! The shifter would slash and grab before running away with whatever haul she managed to get.

One of Jacin's long ears gave a twitch as he heard the sound of foot fall behind him. At first he thought that maybe someone from Yera was following along after him, one of his students perhaps or his daughter? The steps didn't sound quite right though, as though they were trying to sneak up on him. Surely they wouldn't bother with such a foolish act, would they? They surely knew that he wasn't to be bothered while on a hunt because what he was doing was important to Yera. As such he found himself wondering who it might be, someone bothersome that much he was certain.

As he heard someone charging he slid his bow from his shoulder, notching an arrow, and turned around to take aim, "Do you really want to start with me?" He asked of the knife wielding young woman. His voice wasn't threatening, in fact he sounded exasperated at the very most, feeling that the interruption was just a mild irritation. The fact that the girl was about the age of his daughter did bother him, knowing he'd be rather displeased if his daughter pulled something of this sort.

Shaking his head he said with a sigh, "Go home, girl. I have important work to do."

Challenge failed! Rajani had to stop when she came face to face with the point of an arrow. Looking cross eyed at it for a moment she let it process that she'd been caught. More or less. Taking a few steps back she moved her grey gaze from the arrow to the face of the man behind it. Still holding her knife up she gave a small shake of her head. "I can't go home." Well, that was a lie, she could go home but she wanted to find Chalcedony.

Rajani motioned toward him before she spoke again. "You have any food? I'm running low." And since she knew next to nothing about Tale she didn't know what to hunt or how to prepare it. Heck she wasn't even really sure which plants she could safely use. Unless they were universal to Tendaji, then she knew. "I just need enough to hold me over until I find my Dad." As she spoke the young shifter made sure that there was a minimum distance always kept between the two of them.

Jacinthus gave a slight roll of his eyes, lifting a hand he motioned toward the travois that he was dragging along behind him, "My hunt has just started so I can't say I have anything to share." He told her, wondering if she was the sort to beg food off people when not living off her parent. If that were the case it was something that Jacinthus didn't care for, feeling that everyone should work to their hardest so that they could provide for themselves.

Lowering his bow he eased off, putting his arrow back into his quiver, "You should move on and find someone else to beg food off. Even if I had something I wouldn't just give it to you, I require all of my students to pull their own weight if they want anything. You would be treated in the same manner." Replacing his bow on his shoulder Jacinthus started forward once more, eyes returning to the sky as he found himself mentally complaining about 'kids these days' and how they really needed to learn to fend for themselves a bit.

He and his sister great up without parents so he might just be a bit of hard a** in that fashion, but he wasn't going to give hand outs. Given he wasn't even easy on his students then one that looked as though she wanted to steal from him would definitely not get any sort of sympathy from him.

Now she understood why she hated people. They were just.. useless sometimes. Rajani rolled her eyes at him. What she wouldn't give to have Chalcedony right now. "Well if you have no food then can you at least give me directions? I need to find my dad. He's a big shifter with a long braid. He carries a shield." She was doing her best to describe Chal to this guy. Maybe he'd seen him around? "His name is Chalcedony and he has a son named Aysun."

Since she was in Tale she didn't think about the consequences of calling Chal her dad. Rajani figured it would be alright. After all, this guy was a perfect stranger so what could it hurt? At most he might know who she was talking about. Or at least know who Aysun was. Rajani knew there was another son but she couldn't quite remember his name.

"And you can at least ask in a manner that isn't rude or demanding. You're asking for help, young lady, and as such a 'please' would be rather nice." He told her, finding the girl to be quite grating, not the sort that he would want interacting with his daughter if he could help it. As she mentioned her 'father' and that he was a 'big Shifter with a long braid and a shield' he found himself starring.

His eyes narrowed a little bit as she said the name that he was more then expecting, "So that idiot is your father? That makes a lot of sense, doesn't it." Of course that shield baring moron would have a feral brat like this. Obviously the only reason that his nephews were as well behaved as they were was because of their mother, not their father. No, it was obvious that if Chalcedony had been left to raise them on his own they would end up the same as this girl was.

Shaking his head he lifted a hand and pointed, "Head toward the trees that you see on the horizon, that is Jauhar. He's in... Sol if I recall right. Save for that I have no idea as he is no friend of mine." To think that fool had left his sister behind and went to knock up some other woman... he couldn't help but wonder if he'd had to get drunk with this one's mother as well. Not a question he bothered to ask though.

"What?" Rajani looked at him with a confused look. "Politeness implies friendship and I don't like.. Ugh, no!" Using manners opened up a doorway that people just sauntered on into. Took liberties she didn't allow. She didn't even think she had used such things Chal.. Had she? Not that she had time to think. This Tale native had just insulted the only person she had come to trust in years!

"He's not an idiot." Rajani half growled. "Chal is the kindest person in all of Tendaji! You don't just go insulting people like that when they have done better things than you!" Not that she knew if that were true, but judging by how this man acted.. he was a complete and total a**. Then it seemed that the leaf man pointed back to Jauhar. With a frustrated sigh and a shake of her head she seemed to grow impatient with him. "He's not there! I just came from there. He's been gone for a few days. The locals there say he visits his sons over here. You CLEARLY know him or of him." This had to be the most she'd spoken to a complete stranger that she disliked.

So she couldn't even be bothered to feign being polite when she was acting as she was. He shouldn't be in any way, shape, or form surprised given that she was a thief that would threaten people in a knife to take food. Of course she wouldn't bother to use manners he said, giving a little shake of his head.

"You're a naive young girl who has no idea what you're talking about, that is the only reason that I allow you talk to me like that about that moron. As for what for him doing 'better things' then I do perhaps you should actually learn about those your insulting and defending before you open your mouth, girl." Not that he should be surprised, of course that idiot would paint himself as being a hero in the girl's eyes.

Bah! Here he'd been in good mood too but there was nothing that threw his mood off better then something like this. As if he wanted to hear someone compare him negatively to Chalcedony of all people. Gritting his teeth as the girl mentioned Chalcedony visiting his son he turned to her and said, "Go home to Jauhar. I won't have that idiot's other children showing up and bothering my sister!"

Adults were such idiots! Rajani was two steps away from throwing her knife at this man's far too open chest. And not in a polite manner either. "Shut up! Serin's breath I hope you get eaten by a wild beast!" With a deep breath she shook her head again. "I don't see you helping children slaves! You certainly don't know how to talk to children! Moon above any child of yours will feel unwanted!" Oh the curses that came to her mind! Rajani was keeping those to herself though. Chalcedony's voice in the back of her mind was the only thing that kept her from spouting them like a sailor on leave!

And then, CLICK! "Wait... sister?" Rajani stared at the man for a solid minute and a half before saying something else. "You.. You're Kei.. Keila.. uhm.. you're the leaf woman's brother!?" That would make this man.. Aysun's uncle! Oh lord, she felt sorry for Aysun now. Then a laugh left her as the irony set in. "Oh boy.." Rajani looked away from Jacinthus for a moment. Now she needed to be polite... only.. what were this man's preferences? For the first time since happening upon him she felt fear trickle down her spine.

Jacin gave a snort, "I've been fighting for the good for my people and my family since long before you were born, girl. Don't think to question what I've done." A sore spot as Jacinthus had fought every time that he needed to do so and it was something that weighed heavily upon him. He'd never wanted to use his bow and arrow to fight, instead wanting to use it to take care of people, but he'd done what had been needed of him many times over. As she brought up his children his eyes seemed to flash, his anger rising, "You will no speak of things you don't understand and you will not drag my child into your temper trantrum."

He was done with her, seeing no reason to talk with someone so blindly devoted that idiot, to the point where she would continue to insult a man of his rank and age. He didn't have time for brats when he had a village to feed he thought to himself.

As she was suddenly studdering about Keilana, seeming to suddenly realize who he was he gave a snort, "Her name is Keilana and yes, she is my little sister." He said, moving forward, feeling that it was time to return to his hunt. If he got much angrier he was certain that the animals would be able to sense it. The last thing he wanted was his temper causing him to go home empty handed when meat was something that was always needed.

"Uhm, wait.." Rajani called when the man started to walk away. With a deep breath she thought about everything she'd said and cringed visibly. Her blade was put away and she moved a step or two closer but she still kept that safe distance.

"I should explain.." She cleared her throat. "Chal isn't really my father. He took me in when I needed it. He is also uhm.. aware of my past." Why was she telling more and more people about it now that she was out!? However, this one was a necessary evil. Rajani didn't want Chalcedony to look like the bad guy. "I still haven't gotten used to people and he's working with me on that, so I'm sorry I was rude." There.. that was out of the way. Hopefully.

She stepped to the side so that she could see the man's face. "I won't bother your sister if I'm not allowed. I know people think I'm broken and I can understand not wanting someone like me near others. I just.. Chal is the only family I have and I really need to talk to him." Ugh, she hated sounding weak. "He told me not to steal or I'd be kicked out but I don't have coin and I know nothing about Tale so that's what I resorted to. Can you at least tell me where he might be? Or.. Or Aysun.. if I'm allowed near him?"

Jacin gave pause, turning to look at her over his shoulder, then looked forward again, "I see." So she was adopted, huh? It was the same with Korra so he supposed that he could understand how that would make Chal her father but not her father. It didn't make him like Chalcedony anymore then he already did but at least it was a bit better then thinking that he was sleeping around with more random women and ending up with more random children. He loved his nephews but that didn't mean that he was anymore pleased with the way that they came about after learning about it.

Giving a grumbling sound as the girl continued to talk, now playing the part of a sad, scared, little girl after she riled up him, which didn't really make his mood any better. Turning toward her he said, "If you hadn't explained yourself I'd of told you that you weren't allowed. I wouldn't want some other woman's child flaunting herself in front of my sister... but given you aren't blood with that idiot..." He lifted a hand to give it a little wave. Fine, fine... he supposed that he could allow it. Besides if his sister found out that he was trying to dictate who was allowed to meet with her she might try to bash him with that hammer of hers.

Giving a little shake of his head, not wanting to think too hard about that he said, "I can point you in that direction but it's impossible to tell you where Aysun is. He never stays still, rarely stays in a village like a normal person, so I have no idea where he is on any given day unless he's visiting Yera, which he hasn't for a week or so."

She nodded her head when he explained his reasoning behind why he had said she wasn't allowed. "You're a... a good brother." Rajani looked at the ground. So those still existed. Her's had let her down so epically but there were still some that were good. "If it helps, and I don't think it will because you clearly hate Chal.. but he thinks very highly of her." The young girl lifted her shoulders slightly.

"Actually.. I'm not even sure if I'm allowed to call Chal my dad. He already has a family and I didn't ask how they would feel." One of the reasons she wanted to see Aysun. She might not have the same level of trust for him but he was one of her safe people. "That's why I wanted to talk to him. It's why I'm looking for him."

Then she cleared her throat again, her eyes going to his gear before returning to his face. "I'm not much of a hunter and I know nothing about Tale's beasts, but I can help if you would like. To make up for.. how I acted. I just.." Rajani paused a moment and debated on whether or not she should mention her fear. Well, the man IS Aysun's uncle. So she should be safe.. "I have a fear of being touched.. after things in Oba. So.." Her voice trailed off there and she turned her attention to the scenery around them. This part was always awkward for her.
