Stage: Spirit Worker Location: All about Matori on "missions", only coming kinda close to the Oban Border. He cannot go into it just yet (kinda being hunted by people but it's fiiiine) Relationship Status: Single (kinda plotted, it's complicated!)
Likes: The Ocean, meeting people, Having people be excited with him for no reason, being made to feel important, the occasional brawl (though he's not very good), The Buhawi, dancing (badly), rock candy, fishing, sailing on the sea
Dislikes: Most of the Older Oban people, Soldiers, Being told to quiet down, being on land for too long.
Personality Optimistic, Protective, Reckless, Goofy Summary: One of the youngest members of an organization that used to free people from slavery years ago, The Buhawi. An Orphan who has learned that though the world is cruel, there's no reason to give up hope!
He has seen countless lives rescued and restored through his organization, but the time of that has passed. He now lives to make people happy and to guide the people who hire him safely throughout Tendaji. He wants to eventually meet people from all over, since all he's ever met are Matori and Obans
The Buhawi
Summary: A small organization that once focused soley on the rescuing of Matori from slavery before and after the Oban War.
Details under spoiler, since it's WAY long.
Originally, they were a group of revolutionaries who attempted to rally the people of Matori to rise up against their Oban captors and gain their freedom by their own hands. However, they gained little support, and any confrontation they had with the Oban lead to a massacre of their own people. Their leader, Palagia, decided to change their object. Work by night and work in secret. Focus not on a revolution that their people just weren't ready for, but on the people who were helpless. Those stolen away by the Oban. She restructured her people to be search and rescue teams who would sneak into Oban upon request and bring stolen away slaves home. She created a strict set of rules to be followed for the organization to follow, and it resulted in an outstanding success. The rules were as follows 1) The initial meeting for the person who is looking for someone will be arranged by the organization. They will blindfold the requester and take them out to sea to hear the request. This is for the safety and secrecy to all those involved. 2) The request must be made by a loved one (Friends/Family) who has evidence of them being stolen away. 3) Requests to rescue someone who was given away willingly (i.e. to appease the Oban) would be denied immediately. With so many people being forcibly taken away, there was not the resources to dedicate to those who gave their friends and family away for their OWN safety. 4) There was no need for payment. If the family offered food or items of value, they would be taken, unless excessive. Funds are still needed within the organization. 5) Once the individual/individuals were rescued, they would have to be relocated to the southern most Island of Matori, on it's Eastern Shore. It was there that the Buhawi made their camp. The family of the rescued individual would have to relocate too, for their own safety. 6) A betrayal to the organization (selling them out, giving up information, lying about needed a person rescued in exchange for money from the Oban) would be severely punished. if the individual's actions resulted in death of a member or a target, they would be killed by Palagia's hand. If their Betrayal was still severe enough that multiple people were hurt/the target was taken back to their masters, the individual would be put on a boat, towed out to sea as far out as they could safely go, and then left there without a paddle, left to be judged by Ubeli'ae. If they managed to make it back to the shore, they would be forgiven, but banned from being part of the Buhawi.
As the organization grew, they found themselves with many Oban friends who were sympathetic with the situation with the Matori and helped them along the way. These individuals were given the symbol of the Buhawi (the cyclone piece in Xewai's hair), so that they could be shown to be a safe haven when the rescue parties were on their mission.
After Slavery was abolished by the end of the Oban War, the Buhawi focused mainly on reuniting the families of freed slaves. A fews years of this, and the requests to find loved ones all but vanished. Once again, the Buhawi changed it's focus to two things; To disrupt and rescue any slaves that were on the black market in Oba and To continue with their mission to guide people safely to where they desired to go.
That is where they are now.
There are countless success stories for the Buhawi, and quite a few failures listed as well. If you have any ideas for some, that would be great! I'm all ears!
Plot Ideas
❂ The Buhawi - Maybe you've heard of the Buhawi. Maybe you've even hired them before to rescue a loved one! They weren't super well known (secret organization after all) but they were known to get the job done. I would LOVE plots focusing on this! Maybe you were even part of them! Or hell, you could have been an ex member who betrayed them (or related to one) SO MANY POSSIBILITIES!! ❂ Oban- Perhaps your individual had some run ins with the Buhawii in the past. Maybe they still do not like the Matori. Xewai has seen hate in all places, and maybe he should encounter it again. ❂ Hire him - He's for hire as an Escort between Matori and Oban (Atleast to the border)! Well, atleast he and his group are, he's not quite good enough to go on his own! He's happy to help! ❂ Fishing! He loves to fish! And he's GOOD at it! He's a boss with lines and even better with nets! He will fish for you. Always fishing! ❂ Pessimistic - Xewai does not know how to handle people who can't seem to find the bright side of things. Makes for very awkward situations! ❂ Recklessness - So, the boy is a bit of a showoff, and more often than not, he fails at it. He's up for dares and challenges, but be certain he's going to fall flat on his a**. ❂ His hair piece - ASK HIM ABOUT IT! It's the symbol for the Buhawi organization! Anyone who wears one is easily recognized by other members and are welcomed in. ❂ He just recently completed his own Orchestrated Mission to rescue Black Market Slave. He's more than up for doing some more! ❂ Are you looking for a family member? He's here to help! ❂ Battles!
Stage: Lancer (He is stage 2 but he is a WIP in Lancing - must recover from broken legs first) Location: Pajore, Yael Relationship Status: Single, though not actively looking at this time. He needs friends and people he can trust.
Likes: Sitting in the Sun, any animal at all, drawing in his sketchbook, sweets, people who can see past the fact that he is a windling in Yael, tough fighters, people who read or sing outloud Dislikes: Upsetting people, being yelled at, being helpless, being touched, hills
Personality: Quiet, Observant, Kind, Wary, Guilty, Panicky, Introverted Summary: The younger of a pair of Wind Earthling Siblings. Raised by an adventurer mother, and had an adoring merchant father.
He was too young, weak, and sickly to fight in the war, in which his father and brother, Lusala, perished in.
His mother lost her sight in the war, and he was her escort around Zena and Sauti up until a few months ago, where she tried to kill him, and then abandoned him in Zena.
After searching for her for 3 months, he lost all hope and attempted suicide by jumping off the cliffs from Sauti to Matori. He ended up rescued and taken to the Sanctum, where he is being cared for by Zekiel.
He has also gone through abuse at the hands of other caretakers, and it's left him a little skittish and very apologetic to anyone he thinks he's offended.
In an effort to change who he is and to finally heal both mentally and physically, he's changed his name Permanently to Ottolo.
Currently, he is wheel-chair bound with two broken legs. He is limited to moving about with assistance and is often found near the Sanctum's garden. He IS a foreigner so it is okay to treat him badly, due to the Yaelian's default suspicious nature. He is also a little scary looking, covered in scars from head to toe, with a major one coming across his face, starting at his hair part, coming close to his right eye, then crossing his nose. There is also one at the corner of his lip that looks fresh.
Plot Ideas
❂ FRIENDS: Now that Ottolo isn't confined to the basement of the Sanctum's Sickhouse, he would like to meet some other Yaelians. He is found wherever there is a flat surface that he can be rolled to. ❂ Small adventures: Ottolo IS wheel-chair bound right now, and can't really go anywhere on his own as his arm and core are too weak to move him. I kinda would love to have someone just take him away from where he was sitting or napping and rolling him around to see things. ❂ Animals: Even before all of the crap he found himself going through, Ottolo ADORED animals. He still very much does! Do you have a pet or something? Ottolo would love to see it! ❂ Mean actions: The kid has been through ALOT, and though he is able to cope with them better, Yael isn't a kind place. People are suspicious of outsiders, and even MORE so at an outsider who is as beaten up and tortured looking as Ottolo is. Maybe a mean person can meet him while he's out and about. Warning: He will cry .

-steals Tumelo away for a Jak plot- Jakkoa and his *cough* 'betrothed' (fake, for the moment) are on a wandering adventure currently in the Sauti region. Jakkoa is a budding healer and will be traveling from town to town. They have one capramel with them named Delicious who enjoys wandering off. Potential RP plot:
Delicious has smelled something (gasp!) delicious! She meanders off to where Tumelo and his mother are camped (if they're traveling?) and Jak, previously on the look out for healing herbs, goes after her when he finds her amiss. Stumbles upon Tumelo, whom Delicious is trying to beg treats from. Tum-tum may or may not (at your leisure) experience some form of bleeding fit during the interaction which Jak can practice his skills on if it happens - mother interaction for the lulz would also be great, since Jak is a superficially personable sort, but can have quite a lot of, ah...personality in the face of someone who is stubbornly antagonistic with him. (I hesitate to use the word "sassy" but. This boy. =w=)

I have a young beast charmer in Matori now, i think it would be really fun for her spunkyness to meet Xewai, maybe he could teach her to fish, or they could run around chasing matori critters?

That is super cute! And I love the idea of chasing around critters, however he DOES have a fear of Snaptrotters for sure. She could even play the hero if she wanted, rescue the poor fish boy from a 'mean ol' nasty snap trotter who really just wants the fish on his hook.
