Sulla Forest, a large wooded expanse home to many hidden things within Triterra including one Golden Alter. The creatures of the forest were in an uproar, a piercing howl at the center of it all. Small creatures ran away from the sound, birds scattered in all directions. Another howl came from the center of the forest, sounding almost distressed.
In the center of a clearing with a large indentation in the ground, where something had once been, stood a young woman. Her skin was darkened from extended time in the sun. Her hair a deep orange that stood out in contrast to large ears with silver hair protruding from her hairline. She wore a simple dress layered with several earthy tones, a silver tail hanging out from the back of the dress. A thick black collar circled her neck, the only thing she wore. She raised her head, a loud howl coming from her.
After a few howls, she began to circle the indentation in the ground. She looked upset as she began to have what appeared to be a one sided conversation. Her voice carried as she spoke loudly, even yelling at times, making it easier to make out what she said even from a distance.
"No, they took your statue!"
'Calm down, Temillia. It was just a statue, it's not worth the risk'
"No! You told me to hide, that they would go away like the rest. They didn't though, they stole the statue instead of using it! I need to get it back!"

Blaise had been walking around in the forest aimlessly. Arms folded and almost a permanent frown on her face. She had felt partially responsible for the disappearance of her teammate and now the girl they had rescued that she was beginning to piece together who she had really been. Either way, maybe acquiring another another alter for Undine would cheer her up and not hold her as responsible for the failures of Murder Squad. She sighed as she wandered, not even looking very hard for the alter, mostly just using her abundance of time to think as her wing drooped, barely gracing the ground as she heard someone talking up ahead.
A concerned look on her face, as she approached cautiously but her own body language never changed. "...hey..." she spoke softly, trying not to scare the poor girl who seemed to be in the throws of arguing with herself. "...are you talking about the alter?... did someone take it?..." she asked a little more loudly, now feeling even more defeated as it seemed she had just barely missed getting to the alter first. She sighed,.. Well, that sucked.

The argument continued, Blaise unheard or ignored at first as the shouted again at something that wasn't there.
'The Alter isn't important. You are important though, Temillia. If you chase after them recklessly you'll get yourself hurt or worse, dead. They had weapons with them and if they were after the alter you can be sure the weapons were powerful enough to hurt you.'
"I don't care!"
Temillia's voice dropped as she spoke again, almost a whisper which combined with Blaise speaking up finally alerted her to the presence of another. In her anger she had forgotten to remain aware of her surroundings.
"It's important to me. It's all I have to remember you, momma."
"..."
Startled by the voice, her tail bristled. Her ears focused in the direction of Blaise as she turned snarling to reveal her fangs, with a guttural growl beginning to come from the back of her throat. She reacted the way most predators did when startled, attempting to appear larger and more threatening than whatever was threatening you.
'Temillia, what are you doing? That is no way to act, think child. Violence isn't the solution to everything, she obviously isn't a human and she asked about the alter so it's unlikely she's with the men who took it.'
The snarl faded slowly as the wolf girl looked at the other woman slowly, sniffing the air. Her ears stayed trained on her and the tail still bristled to appear larger, but she seemed to be calming on her own before she finally spoke, this time to Blaise rather than whatever she had been arguing with.
"Yes. Bad men came and took the Alter. Why do you ask?"

The girl was clearly talking to herself. It was odd, but she wasn't one to question the sanity of others. As the girl turned and snarled, Blaise took a step back, putting up her hands in a show that she was not there to harm her. "My friend told me that people trying to take the alters and asked me to go check on the one here to see if I could stop them. I.. guess I was too late." she answered with a frown. "It's okay.. I'm a Meta like you..." she offered quietly, trying to show that they had common ground and that she wasn't there to cause ill-will to her or the alter in question. "My name is Blaise.. What's yours?"

Temillia stared at Blaise hesitantly, she still didn't trust the woman and why should she when she showed up right after the men. Suddenly the voice she had been arguing with changed her mood.
'Don't be rude, introduce yourself. There's no harm in being polite.'
Slowly Temillia moved close, her eyes studying the female carefully as she sniffer in her direction once more. After a moment she she finally relaxed a bit and spoke.
"I am Temillia."
There was silence between the two for a moment before she spoke again.
"You want to stop the bad men?"
Her eyes were less focused now and instead looked hopeful as she asked her question based on what she had been staying.

Blaise raised a worried eyebrow about the girl sniffing her, but otherwise didn't move. She figured if it helped, then why not, she did appear to be some kind of wolf after all. Temilia spoke her name and Blaise smiled, giving a nod. Then the question came, did she want to stop the bad men.
Her smile grew, "Of course. Those dickwads want to take things that don't belong to them and hurt little kids because they think because they can, they should. I'm not the only one who wants to stop them... my friend and her crew all fight against the bad men to make sure they pay for hurting innocent Metas and destroying our things like it belongs to them." she explained, her stance shifting into one leg as she unfolded her arms and placed a hand on her extended hip. "You should really come with me and see it for yourself." she spoke with a flicker of intrigue to her voice, honestly interested in what this girl had to offer.

Temillia smiled and turned her head speaking softly, but it wasn't directed at Blaise.
"How about that, Mamma? Can I go after the bad men if I am not alone?"
'You're free to do as you like, but please be careful.'
There was no audible response, not anything that could be heard by anyone other than Temillia, but she suddenly became very excited. Her face lit up as she responded to Blaise finally.
"The bad men stole Mamma's statue, I wanna stop the bad men too.

Blaise smiled as the fiery red-head whispered to herself. A very interesting and odd behavior. She wanted to ask more about it but she didn't want to be rude. Wait, did she say 'Mamma'? Huh.
She watched her face become excited and she supposed that was a good sign. Whoever she was talking to probably said something of an approval for the situation. Well, that was easy. Once Temillia turned back to her, Blaise listened intently for her answer, explaining her simply situation.
"Excellent." she responded with an enthusiastic grin. Looking over to the horizon, she saw the sun was already beginning to set. Well, s**t. "Hmm, well, I wouldn't recommend trying to travel back tonight. Likely, in the morning should be fine." she suggested. She turned to look around at the surrounding area, walking a bit to see what was in the vicinity. "I mean, I can try to make some kind of tent or something out of leaves. Wouldn't be the first time... Just take time, but I can d-.. Eep!" a small shriek of surprise as she tripped over something and fell down. Rubbing her face, she sighed, "Ow.. that actually hurt.." she muttered then turned over to see what she had tripped on.
An egg???
Blaise looked utterly confused by it. Didn't people usually-.... Isn't that supposed to be a child? She pulled a had up to her face and healed her scuffed chin and nose then moved to grab the egg and stood up. "Huh." she made a noise of intrigue and then looked to Temillia. "Is this.. yours?" she asked, not exactly sure how old Temillia was, but it was worth posing the question just in case.

Temilia followed Blaise listening intently, but burst into laughter when she face planted the ground. Although she laughed, she did move to help the woman up extending her hand. It took a moment to process the question before she shook her head adamantly and responded.
"It's not mine. Maybe the bad men dropped it, because it wasn't here before."
Her eyes moved over towards the egg. She moved closer examining it since it was her first time seeing one up close. She normally hid when people came to use the alter, so she didn't ever get to see them up close. It looked delicate, yet beautiful. Temillia returned her gaze to Blaise and offered up a suggestion.
"Where I sleep is nearby, you can stay with me tonight. Although should we leave this egg here? There's someone inside of it, isn't there?"

Blaise chuckled as Temillia laughed. It was a pretty funny prat fall honestly. But her concern was on the egg now as she nodded to Temillia's confirmation that it wasn't hers. "Interesting.. Don't people usually take these with them? It's weird.."
She held the egg close and began to warm her body to incubate the egg in her arms. Turning her head to look at Temillia as she spoke. "That sounds great!" she exclaimed with a smile then looked back down to the egg. "Naw, I'll take it with us. There's a child inside and I don't want to leave them out here all defenseless. Captain will know what to do, I'm sure of it." she chimed then grinned at Temillia happily. "Lead the way!"

There was a slight nod, before Temillia spoke up.
"Yes, usually they do. However they also don't usually steal Mamma's statue."
Temilia smiled before taking Blaise by the hand and leading her quickly through the forest. She was quick and knew this area inside and out, but she wasn't used to having others with her. She moved a bit quicker than Blaise could tugging her along at points until they reached a small clearing. Amidst the center of the clearing stood a large tree that with it's low hanging branches created almost a natural cover from the weather. Excitedly Temillia pointed to the tree and spoke.
"There it is, that's where I sleep. Mamma says the tree keeps me safe."

Blaise chuckled. "Okay.. I can see what you mean." she retorted before her hand was grabbed and Temillia took off into a run. By gods, she was fast, if it hadn't been for the tight grip of the hybrid and her own firm grip on the egg, she could have easily tripped and fell hard to the floor or worse off dropped the egg. Blaise even had to keep her wings tight to her body to make sure she didn't catch on branches or other brush within the forest as they moved. Finally arriving, she was completely out of breath.
Blaise looked over the tree Temillia was pointing at, the place she slept. Wasn't too bad. She'd slept in worse. She smiled at her and nodded in acknowledgement. "Well if your mamma says it's safe, then I'm very sure it is." she grinned enthusiastically and moved toward the tree to settle in.

Temillia follow Blaise under the tree, settling in for the night. The night grew cold however and where Temillia would usually have retreated into her wolf form to escape the cold, she was unable to with her companion asleep with the egg. The air grew colder as the night continued, a shiver escaping her body as she lie awake watching the other woman sleep without issue. A soft warmth coming from where she was that made her jealous.
'Go to her, she radiates warmth. It's not safe for you to endure the cold as you are.'
A soft whisper.
"I want to, but I don't know her Momma. What if she gets mad?"
'Better she get mad than you get sick. If you are to be friends then it shouldn't matter.'
Temillia whined softly and then nodded before moving over to Blaise cuddling into her for warmth. She laid beside her getting as close as possible nuzzling into her wings before letting out sigh of relief. Warming up she spoke before nodding off to sleep finally.
"Mmmm... So warm..."
While they slept, the pair glowed briefly an exchange occurring as their souls mingled.

Blaise slept like a rock despite the cold or lack of cover. She never really had any problems sleeping when it came to it, so she didn't even notice the wolf girl had cuddled up to her in the night, not that she would've minded either.
As sun peaked up over the horizon once more, she rise for the day, stretching groggily and yawned. For a split second, she'd forgotten where she was, outside, huh. This wasn't the base. She looked to her chest where the egg was nestled in one arm. That was still a thing.
Blaise managed to scoot back out of the small shelter and came to a stand and stretched a little more, still holding onto the egg up under one arm. "Right! Time to head back to base!" she spoke enthusiastically like she hadn't just slept the whole night like she'd been in a coma. She looked to the sky, covering her eyes with her free hand. She surveyed the clear blue of the open area. Should be clear. "Hmm, can you fly? If not, I can carry you if you hold the egg. I'll fly us there." she offered, looking back with a grin.

The wolf girl awoke slowly, not wishing to leave the warmth she had found beside Blaise. Blaise had already gotten up, but the area was still warm Temillia's own body temperature producing heat against the cold of morning. She snuggled into nothing trying to get comfortable, but slowly got up as she found nothing to hold.
Temillia crawled out from beneath the protection of the tree and looked at Blaise confused as she asked if she could fly. She wasn't sure if that was a serious question and so it took her a moment to determine it was and respond.
"No, I can't fly. I don't have wings like you do."
She pointed at her back to exaggerate her point. Hesitantly she took the egg in one hand holding it close to her body. She was curious as to how it felt to fly, if it felt as good as running full speed through the woods. After a few moments she spoke again, holding out a hand to Blaise unsure how flying would work.
"If flying is the best way, you will need to carry me."
