 The sea was beautiful at this time of the morning. The first rays of light glistening off the beautiful calm waves. It was this time of day she found most calming. She had been born a rogue and had spent a long time alone, wandering the world. Until she had found the sea. Now, it was home. She still found it hard to mingle with the pride. Especially when there were large gatherings. It wasn't that she was anti social, she just found it difficult to be around such a tight knit group.
So, she found this time of day ever so calming. The time before the pride came fully to life, when there were so few lions stirring. It was a calming time, a time to dip her toes in sea and enjoy the cool fresh morning air and the silence.

Syrius Lionwing Wow she's super pretty! Does she have a mate? XD  He was still having a hard time coming to terms with all the water. Desher had watched it as the sun set trying to figure out a pattern to it. Now he had gotten up early to watch it some more. There was no rhyme or reason to it that he could tell. He was use to being wary of flash floods in the desert, but this was so much water nearby all the time. How could one be on guard all the time? He felt his mate was adapting to their new life much better than he was. Maybe he was just too old for this sort of thing?
He spotted another lioness down at the edge of the water. The male drifted closer. "How do you know it's safe?" He'd also heard vague descriptions about the beasts in the depths that would eat a lion. He really wanted to see these beasts, not just have them described to him. That way he could figure out how they were dangerous.

Magnadearel She is currently single. ^^!
Leviyathan was woken from her reverie about the morning quiet by a male voice. She jumped a little, causing the gentle waves at her paws to jump irratically, she quickly regained her composure though and fixed her magenta gaze upon him. "how do I know what is safe?" She tilted her head quizzically, she wasn't sure what he was asking of her.
Taking a breath the dark lioness stretched her toes moving the damp sand between her claws, she hadn't expected to be approached at this early hour but it wasn't an unwelcome greeting.

Syrius Lionwing Lol. Well if she's still single when Yang grows up, I'll offer him. ;P
They were close enough to the incoming waves that the next one washed up over his toes. Brrrr! That was colder than what he was expecting.

The dark female almost laughed, until she realised he wasn't joking. "Oh, you're serious?" She smiles a glimmer in her bright pink eyes. She didn't often find herself so amused but she was certainly amused by him. Monsters of the deep. "Sea monsters, sharks and things, they can't get in this close, they have to swim in deep waters or they will drown, the water rushing over their gills means that if they stay dormant they literally can't breath. There's some little sharks of course but those are just good eating."
She looks at his paws as he leaps from the waves. It seemed almost crazy to her that a lion that lived by the sea would be afraid of it, or for that matter not want to put his paws in it as often as possible. She loved the sea, and though she knew there were things down there, in the deapths it wasn't going to keep her out of it. "If you stay in the shallows you will be safe. Here, sit and feel the waves" she nods her head to the patch of sand beside her. "It's the most beautiful time of day when the morning sun rises and you can only hear the world breathing and nothing else." She took a deep breath, absorbing the fresh salty air. "There's no greater place to be."

He sounded like a gullible cub! It was humiliating, but he had to do it to learn. He couldn't risk putting his mate into dangerous situation. "I'm afraid I am." Desher listened as she talked about the monsters. "But what do they look like? Is there any I can see?" He felt a bit better to know they mostly couldn't get in this close. "How far out is considered deep water?" It was a barrage of questions, but he couldn't help it. He wanted to learn as much as he possibly could in the shortest amount of time. "Is there any tale tells they are nearby?"
His stomach wanted to do a flip-flop at the thought of eating a sea monster. Another thing he hadn't considered. He was use to desert prey. It made sense living so close, that most of their food came from the ocean. He'd need to learn what was edible and what was to be avoided. Desher wanted to groan with all he had to learn. Then the female pulled his attention back to the moment. He blinked as she told him to come sit in the waves. Hesitantly he moved over to the patch of sand she indicated and sat down.
He kept himself still as a wave washed up toward him. Instinct told him to jump out of the way, but he mastered it and sat there as his paws and bum got soaked. Oh his mate would laugh at him if she saw him. Luckily for him, his mate was blind. She'd still laugh he knew. He took in her words and took a slow deep breath. It smells so different from home. Watching the sun come up did make him feel a little bit calmer.

The dark female laughed jovially. "Your mate must be perminantly amused, you have so many questions, I can answer a few. My name is Laviyathan, by the way, you can call me Levi if it is easier." She pursed her lips. "Any water where you cannot touch the ground is deep enough for a shark." She looked further up the beach, there were rock pools down there but she doubted there would be any baby sharks or even dog fish down there. "I'v never seen a true monster of the sea but sharks are fairly easy to spot, they have a fin that comes up through the surface, if you see one and you're swimming, swim away and hope for the best." She shrugs "probably best you stick to the shallows until you can swim properly. The pride will help you. It's a good pride."
"As for tales, I'm afraid you would have to ask a bard for that." She smiles watching him flinch in the water. "You know you have to embrace the waves to live here. There is a right of passage, allowing the waves to lift you from the uncertain ground, swimming instead of standing. It's a tradition, you are still a cub until you have embraced the waves."

Ironic she hadn't seen a monster yet herself. Maybe they were rarer. Desher sighed to himself about learning to swim. Maybe he could private lessons until he was competent enough not to thoroughly embarrass himself in front of cubs. "Ah I will remember to ask one when I find one with time." He looked guiltily at the next oncoming wave. How could he embrace them when they were so darn cold?!
He gave an unhappy grimace. He was well an adult by his culture, to be considered a cub here was almost insulting, but he knew she meant well. "Maybe I'll take those swimming lessons first."

The dark female smiled at the soft tan male. Her ears twitched sympathetically. She supposed it was hard to be told you were a child in the eyes of a new pride. She felt sorry for him.
Getting to her paws the sea striped lioness nodded towards the pools "come, I can at least teach you to swim." She smiles and starts to trot towards the rock pools, she knew the sea was calmer there, almost still where the water met the hard outcrops.
"I'll show you what's good to eat from the pools too. You'll soon learn."

Syrius Lionwing Lol Thank you! Fin? Want to do another with her teaching him?
He almost balked at the thought of being taught how to swim. However he reminded himself that he would have to learn someday as it was apparently a large part of the pride. On the up side there wasn't anyone else around at the moment. The added incentive to learn the edible items in the pools got him off his wet rump and moving after the female. He could then bring home catches from the pools to his mate.
