This is a side to taking place in the nearby past. This is the story about how two wandering souls found each other and formed an unusual connection... Blue Shadow has recently made her debut as a vigilante in Gotham. She has only recently appeared in town and has yet to find a stable job(this is before she was hired by Wayne Industries) so she works as a part time bar tender and a nearly full time thief and vigilante. As for Red Hood he has recently made his return into town as well but is keeping it low-key. He doesn't want the Bat finding out about him just yet. On one mid April night, the air was bitter cold, and The Blue Shadow was out and about. Amongst the dark and quiet alleyways she was kicking the cr@p out of some gang members. For what reason? Simple. She wanted the money and weapons they had on them that was most likely all stolen anyway, and if you steal stolen goods is it really still wrong?
As The Blue Shadow was punching one man in the face repeatedly another one of the men grabbed an old Piper that was on the ground and tried to swing at her. Blue did a back flip over the man, causing his pipe to strike his friend instead of her. As he turned to swing at her again Blue grabbed the wrist the pipe was in to halt it, then headbutt the man with ease. He stumbled back and tripped over his fallen friend as the last two gang members came out Blue with knives. She turned around quickly and glared at them as she unsheathed her two katanas. She sliced one wrist off each man as if she was cutting through butter. The wrists she cut off were of course the ones that once held the weapons, but now lied bloody and severed on the floor. Both men dropped to their knees and screamed in pain at the loss of their dominant hands. Blue approached them with a steady gaze and pointed one blade at each of their throats. "I warned you before the fight not to underestimate me. I may be a woman, but I'm no damsel in distress. Now unless you want your heads lying on the ground next to your severed hands I suggest that you give me what I want. Your money and weapons, now!"
All four men knelt on the floor in defeat and slowly took any money or weapons they had left on them out and tossed it towards Azura. As they did she put her katanas away and picked up the two severed hands. She ripped the knives that were still in the hands out and placed them in her utility belt before tossing the hands at the men they came from. She then moved on to collecting the other goods thrown at her. "Just a fair warning. If you four continue to steal then I at least want a cut. If I catch you guys continuing your life of crime without including me in, then I'll finish you off." She threatened in a tone as cold as ice.
"Our leader will hear about this! He'll come after you!"
"Let him. I find bringing overconfident men to their knees pleasurable. Now beat it. If you don't stop that bleeding soon you'll die." Azura responded before the men ran off. Yes journeying to The Bowery, the most crime filled area of Gotham, was always a fun experience, and it wasn't too far from where she lived which was the East End. Whenever Azura visited The Bowery she always found something to entertain herself. Today it was those low lifes.

< Jason Todd ~ Red Hood > Jason was in his Red Hood get up. Brown leather jacket, black armored top and pants, combat boots, and red mask. He was trying to remain off the grid, setting himself over most of the gangs by force to control crime. He was in the news a bit but his true identity and intentions hidden from the world and Bruce Wayne, Batman, as well. Working on his car he heard the frantic feet of a few men. This had annoyed him as he had set up a chain of command and didn't want direct contact unless it was needed. Turning he shot the first guy. "Now you know rules. Chain of command and just killed him so make this quick." Folding his arms he listened to the whole story. "Leave me. I'll deal with this mystery woman." Slamming the hood down he climbed into the classic Challenger and drove off. Driving into the neighborhood he was told about he climbed out of his car. Locking it and looking at some of scum. The fear drew a smile because they answered to him and if he was in the area it meant death. Walking around he went till he spotted the woman that was described to him. She looked stunning and the outfit just added to it. "You know... attacking thugs in my territory can be a death penalty, though I might make an exception for someone as fine as you."

•~• Azura Skylark •~• •The Blue Shadow• Blue Shadow had been strolling down the street with an aura of confidence and strength when Red Hood appeared. She feared no challenger and therefore saw no point in lurking around, especially since this area had hardly any cops in it and was run by criminals.
When Red Hood appeared Blue Shadow looked him up then down quickly. She examine his posture, body type, and attire. Based on what she saw he seemed to have the same air of confidence as her, and no doubt was ready for anything. While she couldn't tell what weapons he was packing Azura assumed that he had at least some variety of weapons hidden in his jacket.
"So those weaklings went crying home to their daddy after all. Guess that's you. I'm going to take a wild guess here, but this is all just based on my own suspicion, that you must be the guy known as Red Hood." Azura said with obvious sarcasm in her voice. "I think the red helmet gives it away. I've heard whispers in these streets about you. I heard that you control most of the drug dealers in Gotham but I didn't know that you also took over the local gangs. You've become a legend around here it seems. Most people don't even think you're real." As Azura spoke she kept her crystal blue eyes glued onto Red Hood's face, well helmet. She wished that she could see under it so she could analyze him better, but she could always send a demon after him to spy on him.

< Jason Todd ~ Red Hood > Jason smiled under his helmet. Walking closer to her with the same air of confidence. "I control them. I control crime in Gotham, all but Black Mask." Folding his arms and looking her over some more. "Let's say they are no longer around." Dropping his arms his pistols showed underneath. He was finding her rather attractive. "Got a name? I'd like a name for beautiful face." Taking a few steps he sat on the hood of some car. "But I am my dear."

•~• Azura Skylark •~• •The Blue Shadow• Azura kept her eyes on Red Hood and followed his every movement ask he spoke. Upon hearing that the men she fought were dead she sighed. "What a shame. They might have not been the strongest but I'm sure they could have been useful. Didn't your mother ever teach you that it's bad to waste things?" Azura replied as she took out one of the knives she took from the men and twirled it around in her fingers. As she stared at Red Hood she couldn't help but grow curious as to what made him so powerful? At first glance Red Hood doesn't come off as anything special but the rumors about his skill attracted Azura to him. Unlike most girls around here looks weren't everything to Azura. Sure she liked looking good and she could appreciate the physical appearance of a built man like Red Hood, but she had come across too many toned block heads in her life. What Azura found most attractive and most respectable was a man who could back up his talk with proof of his skill and worth.
"I go by Blue Shadow, although most people don't catch on to that name since my outfit is white and black." Azura explained as she brought the knife to her lips and smiled against it. "Black Mask huh? Sounds like I'm either going to have to take you or him down to make a name for myself here. So Red, who's it gonna be?" Honestly Azura wanted to test Red Hood's skills. She wanted to find a worthy opponent in this city desperately. Sure picking off thugs and other low level criminals kept her busy, but she missed the thrill and challenge of a good fight.

< Jason Todd ~ Red Hood > Jason shook his head. "It's about the message. Chain of Command and such." Folding his arms and chuckling. "Everyone now knows to follow the rules." Getting up and walking over to her again. Dropping a few knives from his sleeves. "Holding that knife might mean something." Moving his blades up to her throat. "I don't take kindly to threats. But I might make an acceptation Blue Shadow." Taking a few steps back he held the knife Bar style, back of blades across his forearms.

•~• Azura Skylark •~• •The Blue Shadow• Azura knew about how most chains of command work but she still thought killing all of them was a waste. As tough as Azura was she didn't like uselessly taking lives. She didn't mind killing, heck in the past she killed without question, but now that she followed her own orders she decided to give mercy a try now and then. However, if it is true that those men knew the rules then they dug their own graves and deserved it. "They were your men so I suppose you had the right. I'm simply saying that now you are down four pawns and will need replacements, and isn't that a hassle?"
Azura didn't move as Red Hood held a knife to her throat. She just glared at him and grinned. "Implying? I thought I was being straightforward. I want to make it big in this city so I'll take down whoever I need to in order to do that." Azura said as she took out a second knife.
Once Red Hood distanced herself she got into a fighting stance. She had the hilts of the knives gripped tightly and her mind was cleared of all thoughts that didn't involve this fight. Azura decided in that moment not to use her powers. She only used them once in a while anyway because she didn't like depending on them, but she also didn't want to use them because she didn't want Red Hood knowing all of her tricks. "Ready when you are."

< Jason Todd ~ Red Hood > Jason chuckled a little. "Not my problem." He saw her stance, smiling as he had fought many with the same style. Tossing up the knives he drew his pistols, emptying the magazine at her. Slipping them to their holsters just before he caught the blades. Running at her and slicing as he tried to push her back. He wasn't going to let up his attack. He had the skills, training, and the gadgets. "I haven't lost against the League of Assassin's best."

•~• Azura Skylark •~• •The Blue Shadow• Azura's eye brows went up ever so slightly when Red Hood pulled out guns. Guns were weapons that Azura did like using, she didn't think that they made a fight fair.
"s**t." She thought as she ran towards Red Hood and then dropped and slid across the street as if sliding to a base in baseball. She had just barely dodged the bullets when she dropped down, but luckily she was fast and has fought people with guns before.
The moment Azura stood up Red Hood met her with blades, slicing at her rapidly. Azura went into defense mode and focused on copying his movements in order to block his blades with her own. The pure force of the colliding blades cause her to take a step back which inside annoyed her. "Guess he's not that bad." She thought before slashing at him again.
At the mention of the League of Assassins, Azura had to force herself to stay compose. She didn't want to prove Red Hood right or wrong in his accusations by reacting to his statement. "He recognizes my stance and fighting as being from the League of Assassins. His reputation certainly did not fail."
Azura tried to keep Red Hood distracted by keeping her eyes locked on his while slashing her knives at his upper body and head. Once she believed he was forced on what she was currently doing she jumped in the air and attempted to jump kick him in the face. "I have done you wrong Red Hood. For a moment I questioned if you really were the strong and feared man that I heard rumors about. Based on how you so carefully yet quickly use blades I can tell that you didn't go untrained. The common street thug or fighter wouldn't know the techniques you are demonstrating, which makes me wonder, where did you learn to fight?"

< Jason Todd ~ Red Hood > Jason dodged the kick and moved a few steps. He was grinning under his helmet. "Had two trainers. Both Batman and then Ra's for a brief period after a trip through the pit." He slide his knives back up his sleeve. Jumping back a bit and tossing a gadget on a dumpster, waiting a few seconds and having the dumpster fly towards her. Drawing the knives again he took his stance again. "Yeah... twisted life." Hiding his knives away and looking at her. Taking off his helmet he had a charming smile. "I think I remember seeing you."

•~• Azura Skylark •~• •The Blue Shadow• When Azura landed on her feet she quickly threw one of her knives at Red Hood's chest as he spoke, while she held the other at the ready to use.
Upon hearing who trained him Azura stiffened slightly but it wasn't really noticeable. "Ras did? No way." Azura thought as she continued to stare hard at Red Hood's helmet. If she could just see who was underneath then she had no doubt that she could recall him. (Just so you know I'm writing that he had a black eye mask underneath because in the june roleplay my character didn't recognize yours meaning that in this roleplay they can't know each other's identities). When the helmet was willingly removed, to her surprise, Azura came face to face with a man in a black mask with black and white hair like her own.
Since Azura could not see his whole face she couldn't tell who he was, but something about that smile seemed familiar....
-flashback- *Azura stood in arena under the watch of Ras. Her opponent was a young male who was around her age. They both held swords and waited to begin. After moments of looking at each other in silence Ras shouted at them to "Fight!". The two charged at each other and their swords continued to clash for hours before the boy faked going in for a stab and instead tripped Azura. She hit the floor with a hard thud and as she stood up to go after the boy Ras stopped the fight. "I can still fight! He just played a dirty trick!" Azura shouted as the boy gave her the same charming smile that she was getting now from Red Hood. "Sora, I know you like an honorable fight, but the world doesnt work like that. Humans are dishonorable creatures. It will do you good to learn this lesson now." Ras said before looking at her opponent with a nod of approval.
As Ras walked away Azura glared at the boy with jealousy. When he approached her to talk she just grabbed him by the arm and threw him across the arena. "Don't feel too proud boy. The next time we fight I won't hold anything back." Azura warned before walking away.*
After taking a trip down memory lane Azura found herself wondering if this could possibly be the same boy. She was so young back then though, and so was he, so she had no way of knowing what changes he went through over the years. Besides, they only knew each other for a while before he got up and vanished.
"I know everyone who has worked for Ras and you don't ring a bell. I do find it odd though that you managed to be trained by both Ras and Batman considering that they are enemies. Do you have no sense of loyalty?" Azura, despite not wanting to work under Ras, still admired and respected him. He is like a father figure to her. "As for a twisted life you wouldn't be the only one, not that my personal life is any of your business. People like us just all seem to have their own sob story."

< Jason Todd ~ Red Hood > Jason tried to side step the knife but got his jacket cut. He could feel the sting of the cold air to a small wound. "Well death has that sort of thing." Taking a few steps closer he looked her over a bit more. The tang of familiarity changing to the certainty of knowledge. "I remember you. Ras called you Sora. You flung me across the arena." He walked even closer to her.smiling as he was very close. "I also remember us doing this on a dare from a drunk recruit." He kissed her hard, remembering more and more about her. Part of him hoped she would remember him back. Pulling away from the kiss he had his charming smile on again. "It wasn't about loyalty. Ras brought me back out of guilt and stuck around for revenge sake."

•~• Azura Skylark •~• •The Blue Shadow• Azura was unsure if the fight was still on or not so she kept the other knife she had gripped tightly in her hand as she spoke to Red Hood. His talk about death confused her until a thought occured, "Did Ras really share his lazereth pit with this man?"
When Red Hood stepped forward Azura prepared herself for an attack but instead all he did was confirm her previous thoughts. He was the boy she met all those years ago, the one Ras said they'd help until he was back on his feet. Before Azura could even form a clear thought on this situation Red Hood took a quick step forward and grabbed her. As she moved to stab in in the shoulder he kissed her and the shock of it made her body freeze.
She vaguely remembered being dared to kiss the boy in her memories and not wanting to, but after being taunted about it for a while she gave in and just did it. Luckily he was at least a good kisser, as was this Red Hood guy. It was becoming easier to believe that they were the same person after all.
What was probably the biggest surprise was that Azura actually accepted the kiss and even lowered her knife. She put her guard down which was something she didn't do often. Azura didn't remember a lot about the boy she used to know but she remembered that in his sort time with the league they trained together a lot and Azura viewed him as her rival but also as a friend. Also it was mostly because of him that Azura learned how to play dirty. She now is willing to flirt and manipulate others to get what she wants. She learned from him that playing dirty did not always mean you were dishonorable, especially since the world was a dirty place. It saddened Azura a bit that she couldn't remember his name, especially because she remembered a lot of things. There was one name that she vaguely remembered hearing the boy called...
"Robin?" Azura asked when Red Hood pulled away from her. "Also, don't call me Sora." Azura said as she punched him in the arm. While she punched him hard she meant for it to be in a more playful manner. "I abandoned that name recently. I'm Blue Shadow now. Sora is in the past. Anyway don't think that you can just go around kissing people. You're lucky I didn't stab you in the throat. Anyway I knew that Ras had helped heal you, but I didn't realize he used his precious lazereth pit on you. He must have really wanted to atone for some doing he thought was wrong."

< Jason Todd ~ Red Hood > Jason smiled and leaned against a wall. "I was the boy wonder. Ras had asked the clown, Joker, to do a job for him. I pursued after him and got captured, Joker took a crowbar to me and then set off a bomb. I died and then woke up in the pit. Ras helped with my recovery and of course we trained together." Smiling as he looked back up to her. "To be honest you're really the only girl here worth kissing. Love the new name as well, very mysterious."

•~• Azura Skylark •~• •The Blue Shadow•
Azura's mood quickly changed upon hearing Red Hood's story. She went from wanting to take him down, to being oddly glad to see an old acquaintance, to now sad for him. She had the feeling that showing to much empathy would just make him think she pitied him, which wasn't the case, so Azura was careful in her wording. "That does sound twisted, and complex. The boy wonder was or is Batman's side kick right? Or partner in crime, however you wish to word it. I'm guessing this Joker guy was trying to use you to get to Batman. It sucks that you got pulled into that. I may have never experienced death but I have taken near death beatings a few times. Not any time recently though."
When Red Hood switched the conversation back to kissing Azura couldn't help but to laugh a little. "It takes a special man to transition conversation like that. Although it is possible that you are switching the topic as a defense mechanism. Don't worry though, I have no interest in prying into that part of your life. I'd be lying though if I said that wasn't interested in your revenge. You see, I plan to get revenge too one day so meeting others who are doing the same is always interesting. So tell me Red, who is it that you want to pay back? Joker? And as for my name it came from one of the names people called me in Japan 'Aoimoku no akuma'. It means blue eyed demon."
