Caoihme looked around the classroom. She didn't know what to do. She wasn't sure what to do with this project. She was good at art but how could she use art for this project? Maybe she could make something? It had to be about this book and well she needed to figure it all out. She looked over at the person she had been assigned to work with and walked over to where they were sitting. "Hi. I'm Caoihme your partner for this project. Um. do you have any ideas? I'm really good at art and like to do that so if we could incorporate that I'd like that. Maybe do a poster or a model or something? I don't know. What are you comfortable with?" She fidgeted not really goos at talking to people or anything. She was starting to get a little bit better at it but it still made her so nervous. She hoped she hadn't offend Archimedes. That wasn't what she was trying to do at all.

Archimedes sighed he didn't really want to do a team project for Language Arts class, but to pass the class it looked like he was going to have to. Arch nodded and said softly "I'm Archimedes.. " He considered telling the other freshling his nickname, but his siblings and parents had called him that so it was still a sore subject for him. Archimedes bit his lip, then said softly "Maybe we could do both, make one of those like poster and model presentations. Maybe we could do it about the book Molly Shade??" He said talking about the story of the geist freshling that played hooky from school and hung out with a mischevious older demon boy Nightshade. Stories of adventure. The idea made Arch a little sad thinking about his parents again, they used to read stories like that to him before they left, and never told him why.

Caoihme nodded her head and smiled encouragingly hoping this Archimedes would be ok with her. "Nice to meet you." She was a little bit worried about him since it seemed like something was troubling him but maybe that's just what he looked like. She didn't know. She didn't know him well enough to know if that was true or not. Her eyes lit up happily when he said that. "Oh yes! That sounds like a really good idea. And yeah that sounds good." She had understood that book and some of it had actually been interesting to her. She blushed and dropped her head. "I'm sorry if I was a little loud." She didn't mean to be but it just tended to happen. She frowned since he looked a little sad but didn't say anything. It wasn't her place to comment she didn't know him. Maybe he had had a bad morning or she could just be reading things that weren't there. "So we now know what to do. Do you want to go to another room so we can spread out stuff and start planning?" She figured having space would be good then they wouldn't be anyone's way.

Arch nodded and said softly "Nice to meet you too.." Arch did his best to look happy and professional as a kid like him could. "Umm it's ok Caoihme." Arch nodded and picked up the art stuff so they could go to another room and start planning. Archimedes started sketching out a plan on the paper, he was pretty good at planning out art stuff, he couldn't paint very well, but he liked making wood carvings. So for that he normally drew out a plan before he started craving his work. "Umm how about something like this we make a poster of the basic stuff about the book and a diagram about the scene where the Molly and Nightshade are rafting down the river together??"

Caoihme smiled at Archimedes and listened to his soft words. She smiled encouragingly and she rocked on her heels a bit. She tilted her head and frowned a bit as he looked a little bit off. She wouldn't pry though his secrets were his secrets. She relaxed when he said it was okay and she played with her hands a bit. She went with him and grabbed a few art supplies too. She went into the other room with him and looked around. She looked down at the poster and tried to think about what she wanted to do with it or what would work for their project. She looked over when he said he had an idea about the poster and stuff. She beamed and looked at his idea. "Oh that seems like a really good idea. I like your idea a lot. And that's a really good scene and seems like it could be a lot of fun to make." She held out the sketch she had done for the poster. It had the basic idea of the story. "What do you think?"

Archimedes sighed, he liked Caoihme in a way, she didn't push him, like the last girl he had met, Arch just wasn't ready for it and the last person he had spoken to by chance hadn't wanted to take the hint, that if pushed Archimedes would push them away. It was lonely sometimes perhaps but there wasn't much he could do about it. It was just the way things had turned out his sister was well adjusted and Arch wasn't. Arch nodded as he worked, "Yea I'm pretty sure this will work out well.." Arch added in his head 'Thanks for not poking at my issues.' Archimedes nodded "Looks nice." Arch said softly as he went to look for a box for their presentation.

Caoihme tilted her head when she heard the sigh and worried about him a bit but again didn't want to push him or make him upset. She pushed her hair out her face and hummed softly as she looked around for what to use. She smiled when he nodded and beamed a bit very pleased he liked the ideas too. "Good. I'm glad. I was really nervous for this project. I really wasn't sure what in the world to do or how it would work out. I'm not so good at planning and stuff." She shrugged. She looked in her bag and smiled as she pulled out a few snacks. She looked over and grinned. "Thank you art is one of the few things I'm good at." She looked around trying to find a box too them frowned. "Oh um Archimedes if you want a snack I have some. I'm not super hungry and if you are there are some." She went back to working on the poster and hummed.

Archimedes nodded as he brought the box in and said "It's ok.." he said softly "I know the book pretty well.." Archimedes said quietly "Umm I guess planning helps with woodworking and stuff." Arch said softly as he pulled his hair back and sat down. Arch shook his head "No thanks I'm not hungry." Arch said softly as he started to put together the scene box. Setting up the water and the raft and then creating the figures. He didn't say much more, he wasn't sure what else he could say, he just wanted to get this project done, and then do some wood carving to relax. Talking to others was hard for him, he just wasn't ready to trust anyone again, even if Caoihme was nice enough, she could still leave.

Caoihme nodded her head and smiled as she saw the box he brought back. "Oh that looks good." She looked back down at her poster and continued to work a bit more on it. She relaxed more. "That's good. I know I read it but some of the deeper stuff is a little bit hard to understand. Some of it confuses me and I'm really trying to understand it but sometimes it feels like I'm reading a foreign language that makes zero sense to me. I'm sorry if that makes it harder for you on this project." She looked over shocked. "Woodworking? Do you do woodworking?" She was really curious. "I've always wanted to try carving things and learning but no one has ever showed me." She frowned and shrugged. "Okay well if you want some they are there." She went back to working on the poster not wanting to force him to talk if he didn't want to. She hummed more as she kept working and pushed her hair out of the way so none of the art supplies got on it.

Arch continued his work and said "Thanks." softly Archimedes shrugged "What don't you understand Caoihme." Arch said softly waiting for her to answer his question so, he could answer hers. He sighed softly he wasn't a jerk, he just had his open wounds. Arch blushed a redish brown color, "Umm yea, it's my thing.. it's not that big a deal." Arch said softly. "I'm sure there is someone old enough to teach you, I just kinda taught myself.." Arch said softly. Arch finished his part of the project, sitting there waiting to explain the book better to Caoihme so they wouldn't flunk the project. He was still a bit uncomfortable with the whole situation, but he was kinda stuck.

Caoihme she smiled more. "You're welcome." She went back to her work and kept working on the poster making sure the art looked good and didn't look confusing. She sighed and looked down feeling terrible he was stuck with her on his project. "I'm sorry Archimedes. I-i d-don't mean to be a nuisance or anything I'm so sorry." She looked down at the floor feeling terrible and just like s bit of a familiar. "You probably get it and here I am not helpful at all. I'm just going to be dead weight for you on this project it's just… it's frustrating. Why can't the author just say it directly? Like why do they go on a raft of trip and what does it all mean? I know it's not just an adventure but I don't know what more it is. It's like staring at a painting and knowing something is off and get not knowing how to fix it. Or hearing a piece of music and then trying to play it and you know the chords are off yet you can't play it right." She sighed and looked down at the floor feeling terrible. She flicked her eyes back up to him when he spoke again and smiled. "Well I think it's really cool. I suppose you're right but I'm really bad at goon up and talking to people I get so nervous and stuff. I know I'm going to say something stupid and offend someone or something. And I think it's really impressive that you taught yourself. That's pretty amazing." She looked back down to finish off the posture trying to be helpful and not be a burden to Archimedes. He probably hates her and just wanted her to shut up. She finished it and kept staring down.

Arch frowned and sighed "You're not a nuisance Caoihme, I'm just not someone you should hang out with too much.." Arch said softly and then mumbled "I'm not worth it.." Arch shook his head "Molly wanted what Nightshade had and didn't understand, what she had till she ran away giving it up, facing danger and feeling the hardships Nightshade had, no one should want Nightshades life, and Molly couldn't see that, she let people think she was dead, for a taste of freedom and Nightshade knew she belonged with her family." Arch said softly "Molly belonged with people, Nightshade never did.." Arch said looking away from Caoihme. "I guess I'll do most of the talking then, I'll see you later Caoihme.." Arch said softly taking his box and heading for the door. He had reached his pain tolerance for the day.

Caoihme flicked up her eyes to meet his and frowned. She was a burden and she needed to figure out what she could do to make sure she wasn't. She sighed and chewed on her lip more. "Why not? You're really nice and you know a lot of stuff. Why can't I want to hang out with you?" She didn't like being told what to do. She listened to his explanation and her he's widened as it started to make more sense. "Oh… oh okay that… that makes a lot more sense than it did when I read that." She sat there and listened to his explanation and her eyes widened more as it all started to make so much more sense. She frownened and shook her head. "No. I'll do my fair share. It's not all on you and I'll do my part. You don't have to be alone. I'm here to help with the project. That's why there are two people." She got up and went over to him and grabbed his hand for two seconds to put a candy in it then moved back a bit. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to upset you if that did but you looked like you needed something sweet. And don't worry I'm going to help with the talking thing." She smiled a little bit. "I'll see you later and maybe next time you can show me one of your carvings. I'd like to see one." She waved and began to clean up the supplies and gather the things not wanting to leave a mess behind.
