 Summer Races - Adolescent & Adult Division Welcome to the Adolescent & Adult Division of our Summer Races! Brute strength, cunning and pure speed are showing up today to prove their worth in what looks to be a truly exciting event!
Trail ; This track is a lot less cuddly then the pups track. It's got rolling hills, plenty of muddy places and some possibilities of prey. Though prey is typically hunted there is always the chance of running into danger with them as they go on a defense mode. That's not all that is out there, vines, tree limbs, trickling stream of cool water. There will also be individuals monitoring this track, but not like the youth division - these will be few and far between as it's considered that the adults can manage themselves. (Markers are placed to guide the competitors.) OOC Race Rules Prompts are to be rolled for based on the instructions below. The adolescent/adult should react to this prompt as best they can.
The prompts are important as they will depict the points for each adolescent/adult. The winner will be chosen based on the points rewarded by the RNG.
Do not delete posts, even if you make a mistake. Just mark that post as void and reroll in a new post. This will help to keep track.
You can roll up to 4 times a day!

Other individuals are welcome to post, but their points will not be recorded. This includes all ages - pups to adults. Prompts To get a prompt please roll 1D6 and then respond to the prompt.
1. You're faced with the grueling task of completing a race, perhaps a race you weren't prepped for? At least that is how this display was seen - you've stumbled over a stick, collided with a rocky wall and collapsed in a muddy mess. You eventually get yourself cleaned up and do push forward. [1 Point]
2. Muscles scream as you kick off in a way that stuns the crowd! This was your proud moment - it looks as though you've practiced really hard for this event and you've got the attitude of a winner. Head in the clouds about entering the winners circle causes you to stumble a little. You catch your ground quickly though and are right back at it! [4 Points]
3. You've seen a couple of individuals falter from the start, it's just your luck that you seem to be near those who are having some trouble. It is also just your luck that there happened to be a branch in your path, hidden by some additional debris and you almost stumble. This startles you and you must take a quick breath before continuing. [2 Points]
4. You're a winner! Through and through you have an outstanding outlook on this race and have not encountered anything to troublesome. Even those things you did encounter you quickly got over it and moved on. You're doing very well at this point in the race. [6 Points]
5. Leaving the start was no issue, heck you figured you were going pretty strong. In fact, where did the other competitors go? Then you hear a sound similar to hooves beating a path. No. Those were hooves beating a path. Looking around you finally spot a grumpy looking Zebra who is about to get you. After some chasing you finally escape with a few bumps and bruises. Soon you find the markers and are back on track. [1 Point]
6. Distracted by the sudden sounds coming from nearby of hooves and some howling you aren't watching where you are going and stumble. This stumbling tosses you into the stream and drenches you. Refreshed, but sopping wet, you get up and try to determine where you are in the scheme of things. Once you have your wits about you are at it again. [2 Points]

The Queen stepped forward, looking down from a comfortable spot that overlooked the adult track. There were no pups this year, but that was alright. There were more unfamiliar faces than familiar ones, but hopefully that meant some of them were going to stick around. Winterwind's green eyes sparkled as she addressed the pack before her. "Greetings," she called, giving them a nod. "Welcome to the first of the annual Summer Races. The track for adults isn't easy, but if you can finish it, you'll be able to call yourself the swiftest in the pack." Right now that didn't come with many perks, only bragging rights. Suggestions were always welcomed. "But do be careful. Watch your step. "All of you who aren't an official part of this pack are welcome to stay if you want. You're also free to go. Today is about having fun and building relations! Now participants, to the starting line." She waited for the pack to move to the starting line and spoke again. "Now! Markers are on the course, if you get lost, look for one of them! No cheating! On your marks, get set...." She waited for a couple heartbeats. " GO!" And just like that the Summer Races were underway.

 Shideezhi wagged her tail and panted happily as she listened to the wild dog in charge. She loved competitions no matter what they were, so this race was sure to be fun! As the group moved to the starting line she lowered herself into a good starting position, and at the bark to go she was off like a shot. She jumped a little higher in the air than was needed and gave an excepted yap before really putting her nose to the grindstone, trying to get out ahead. [Rolled 2: 4 points]  Cŵn Annwn had a much different outlook on the race. He was just glad that he was in such a large area with other wild dogs and didn't seem to cause them distress. He had an air about him of bad omens and death and when he was encountered out in the rogue lands on his own he usually scared most. His silent and imposing demeanor didn't really help, but he didn't mean any ill will towards anyone. Hopefully today would be fun. At the command to go he took off, running silently in the pack, his paws barely making a sound despite his size. It was a good way to start and he hoped his stamina would prove him useful today as he wasn't exactly the fastest creature around. [Rolled 4, 6 points]

Shideezhi felt like she had a pretty good start, but suddenly a ruckus from somewhere off the trail made her glance over, curious. Her being distracted so easily would really be her downfall someday...and that day might be today! She stumbled and fell right into the river that she was running beside. It was pretty hot out so she felt refreshed, but she had to spend a few moments shaking herself dry before continuing on. Man, hopefully that wouldn't happen again!

Cŵn Annwn kept with his steady pace, finding a nice rhythm to run in. He jumped over a fallen log, sailing gracefully over it without difficulty. This was just like running in the rogue lands, he thought to himself as he turned a sharp corner and put on a little more speed after slowing to make sure he wouldn't slip and lose his footing. There were just a lot more wild dogs than he was used to. It was nice to feel part of a pack though.

No sooner had her fur started to dry from the wind and sun than Shideezhi found herself stumbling off the path and into another bend of the river. She groaned as she got back to her feet and shook off again. She needed to pay more attention to where she was going if she wanted to stay in this race!

Cŵn Annwn's steady pace meant there were other wild dogs around him, both falling behind and passing him. A few canines that had pulled ahead were lagging now, and he got stuck behind them as they took up the whole path. As they darted around a branch he didn't see which almost tripped him up. He managed to jump over it but had to get his wits about him before pressing on again.

 Matao was happier than she had ever been! When she had found this pack with their races and games, she knew she wanted in! She could find friends here that she had never met and be supported by those cheering for her on the sidelines! She had never known such excitement before and was so caught up on it that she didn't here the race begin. When others darted off beside her, she hurried to catch up with them, only to trip, stumble and roll down a slope into a tree. She picked herself up, growling and walked back to the starting line before looking at the trail ahead with fire in her eyes. She would win this, but not just for fun. She would win this for the sake of winning! (And to make more friends, of course.) [Day One Roll One: 1 Total points: 1]

 Eha had been distracted by the howls, that was a nasty trick to play on a Queen's Knight! She was on her wits end not being there for her duty. But she knew that Kitwana would be watching her too. Maybe she was distracted doubly. Picking herself back up she shook it off and then sprinted forward to continue.

Eha did just that. Springing into action, which was surprising since the lands of Pakiti during the summer were so warm that Eha's northern pelt weighed her down sometimes. But not today it seemed. Her tail flicked happily behind her as she ran and kept her balance!

Matao sprinted ahead, finally gaining some miles against her opponents, she thought, only to have the sound of an alarmed howl and heavy hoof beats sound from just behind her. Glancing behind her she saw a cloven hooved prey-animal careening towards her! She veered a sharp right only to fall head over heels downhill into a stream. She lay on her side, stunned for a minute, before she was up again. She trudged up hill with her eyes burning with determination and then she shot off again, with a slight limp in her step.

She had to stay happy, she had to make sure she was having fun, she had to make sure she stayed determined. She wanted to win, she wanted to be part of a pack, to make sure that she had lots of friends to care about. She wanted to make others happy and she wanted to make them love her. She glanced behind her at the others that were falling rapidly behind and let out a triumphant bark, only to stop abruptly before she skid into a tree branch. She whined, a paw throbbing, but this was just some sort of test, she was sure of it. All of these challenges in her way were to make sure that she proved herself worthy of the pack. She gave a huff and she gave a puff and then she was hopping over the fallen branch and off to the races again!

Matao was off her game,but she wasn't going to admit it. She would go and go and go until it killed her! Well, maybe not to that extreme, but something big would totally happen and it would be some sort of intense so there! She was just starting to dream about herself winning, to stand in the winners circle next to the others and approach whoever was in charge and say "I'd like to join this pack, please!" and to be immediately accepted in because she was a winner!
The other dogs would pound their paws against the ground and cheer her name! Oh, she could hear it now! Wait... She COULD hear footsteps behind her now. Hazarding another look, she saw a very irritably zebra behind her, the same that she had dodged before! Rather that continuing to run, Matao turned around and faced it, jaws snapping and paws pounding. Self-defense wasn't against the rules, right?
She eventually chased off the striped nuisance, only to find herself thoroughly lost. She started to hunt about until she found one of the path markers who directed her back to the trail and sent her on her way. With a grateful nod, she spend on towards victory.

 It wasn't as though Majira had expected to get very far, but for one reason or another, as soon as he stretched his legs out, he didn't feel at all inclined to stop moving. He especially didn't feel like stopping when he heard hoof beats and frantic howls behind him. If anything, it made him speed up, which was his inevitable downfall. Literally, since he fell down a slope into a stream. Spluttering, he righted himself, tried to decide whether going back to the starting line and quitting was worth it and then shrugged it off. May as well finish what he started. [Total points: 2]

Shadi thought she had started off fairly strongly, that was a false feeling though as she took a tumble. Cursing the stick as she fell she didn't see what she'd be facing and soon not only had a face full of mud, but was seeing stars.
She got up slowly, in sharp pain, and got herself ready to try again. Perhaps no one has seen me? Her thoughts weren't even completed when she heard a snicker and spotted a wild dog proceeding to copy her motion. She gave a tiny smile at her little victory and began moving.
Pakaja was feeling truly good about himself, but that was just to soon of a feeling as he spotted a female go down. A small snicker escaped him, but due to the distraction he to went down. Totally covered in mud, something colored like his pelt already, he was not wet and gross.
"Great, just great." He mumbles to himself, spies the small smile from his peer and feels a small rush of adrenaline to get back on track. He wouldn't take this lying down.Points - 1 ; Shadi & 1 ; Pakaja
