Being thoroughly entertained was fun. The girl gave him a few laughs and plenty of good memories to look back to. Maybe if she recollected who he was it would have made things more interesting but it would have sped up the pacing of his plan by a bit too much. ’I guess being a bit more patient wouldn’t hurt. If I want to make a hit then I got to go out with a bang.’ Victor hummed a merry tune while on his way to the next event. It was more so for his enjoyment than the enjoyment for any devious plot he may have had in mind. For now the only joy he could partake in was the game within the academy. Plus it may have been one of the most stress-relieving games in the entire academy. It was called ‘Whack a Digglet’ and it sounded like the best game to release any pent up angst the man may have had inside. Even if he didn’t win a whole lot of anything, just playing the game would be the best remedy. ”Shall we?” Motioning towards the hammer involved Victor was ready to start smashing.

Nika was glad Azreal wasn't acting weird after all that teasing from those teachers. It would have stunk if he ran off because of it or things got awkward, since she wanted to hang out a bit more. They found a water fountain, and Nika then had to convince Calo to hop off her shoulder onto a nearby bench. Instead he hopped onto the fountain just as Azreal finished getting his cloth wet. The bird stuck his head where the water had been a moment before, but no more was coming out. He straightened and puffed up, looking offended.
Nika chuckled, but when Azreal came back with the cloth she quieted. "Oh y-yeah. Thanks..." She tilted her head down, bangs hiding her face. She stared with wide-eyes at the ground as she felt his fingers sifting gently through her hair. He was gentle, and it felt kind of good...not like she'd in a million years let anyone know that though. Thank Arceus those teachers aren't around, she thought. She almost said it aloud as a joke, but she didn't want to bring up that line of thinking right now because...um... Nika could feel a hint of a blush coming back. Stupid teachers, she thought to herself. She liked how Azreal matter-of-factly helped her out, and she didn't want to make it weird. She sucked in a sharp breath as he started dabbing, but that was all the noise she made. "It's fine, it doesn't really hurt. I've had worse." Usually bleeding was split skin from condition training where the purpose was to toughen up, or getting cuts from falling outside, but she had also gotten a lot of bruises and a broken bone from Taekwondo. Still, probably not as bad as some people had it. After all, she'd never been in a real fight before that lasted more than five seconds.
When Azreal was done, Nika straightened, glad that her face didn't feel hot anymore. "Yeah, I think that's good," she said, touching her head experimentally with her fingers. A flurry of movement caught her eyes- Calo hadn't given up on the water fountain and had fluttered his wings for balance as he scratched at it with his talons. "Calo," she sighed. She walked up and shooed him to the side (he was currently gnawing the water spout with his beak) and pressed the button to get the water started. With a chirp of delight he slipped into the bowl, puffing up and fluttering happily. "This is probably gross," Nika stated, though she didn't really seem to care. Calo's bath wasn't going to kill anybody, probably.
Nika stopped the water not long after that, and Calo hopped to the edge and shook himself, splattering water everywhere. Before he had the chance to make for her head, Nika picked him up and plopped him on her shoulder heedless of how he was still somewhat wet. "Thanks for waiting," she said to Az, "Looks like both our pokemon are sorta weird." She smiled; her Calo was a goofball, and his Moana was pretty sassy. "I kinda like it though," she stated. It was more fun this way.
They wandered the festival, Nika sticking close enough that they wouldn't get separated. She thought about taking Azreal's elbow or hand again, but didn't want to bother him. Not to mention it might upset Moana again. "There's so many people. And they're all so...happy," she commented, voice almost disbelieving. Most of her recent memories of large groups involved tons of dirty refugees, crying kids, barely any talking and just downcast faces. She still couldn't get over the contrast. "I wonder if they really believe it," she muttered to herself. How many of these people were just masking the pain? But trying is better than moping, she argued to herself. She much preferred her dad as he was now compared to his depression after her mom died.That's what Nika was doing too, wasn't it?
"Hey, Az-" he hadn't corrected her yet so she was just going to keep calling him that, "-do you want to try out a game?" Nika pointed to the Whack a Diglett game, wanting to give it a shot herself. She'd seen games kind of like it before but never tried it herself, but it looked like fun and Nika was always up for a challenge of physical skill.

Azreal knew that he should probably not act weird due to the escalated situation. It wasn't Nika's fault that the adults had pretty much stated they were going to be an item. Besides Nika probably thought of him as a friend anyways, she was probably struggling in her own right to keep herself from fleeing the scene. In fact Azreal was still pretty surprised she was still here. After all normally the girl would hit the boy and deny they had any feelings and run off. Then again, that usually only happened when the girl actually liked the guy. So it was safe to say Nika felt none of those sorts of feelings for him. She was more like a bro than anything else, at least to Azreal. She was a lot more relaxing to be around unlike his sisters. He shivered at the thought, girls could be so mean sometimes. Honestly, he wondered if most girls were like that deep down on the inside. Azreal still loved his sisters, and he'd do anything for them. However, that didn't mean that they didn't scare him. He shrugged, not really needing any thanks "eh you don't really have to thank me since I offered to do it..." he said. Maybe he should have let her tend to herself? Azreal mentally slapped himself, so much for not making friends. He was being pretty chummy with Nika right now. He needed to stop that soon, if anyone found out he'd be in trouble big time.
He cursed his natural brotherly instincts to help, his sisters often times came to him when they needed to be patched up. Saying things like they needed to get him to do it so they didn't dirty their clothes. Complete bull if you ask Azreal, but he'd still do it anyways. Guess bad habits die hard. His eyes moved down to her as she stated that it was fine and that it didn't hurt "right then" he said, before putting his blood soaked towel away. Azreal hadn't noticed how he had practically ignored to bird pokemon as he tried to get wet. It wasn't like Calo was his pokemon after all, besides Moana was already hard enough to take care of as it was. He watched as Nika tended to the issue, and he ran a hand through his hair softly "what a bother..." he muttered to himself, as he looked away from the scene. He didn't particularly find it gross of anything, after all back in his hometown pokemon loved bathing in water on a hot day. It was just that for Azreal he didn't have the heart to do aloof things like that. After what he went through, he didn't think he'd ever really smile for real like he did a long time ago.
He waved a hand lazily "not much else to do anyways" he responded, as she thanked him for waiting for her. He shrugged again as she stated that their pokemon were both weird and she liked that. Azreal was still neutral about it, he didn't really know how to feel about it at the moment. Moana on the other hand waved her hands back and forth angrily at the girl once more "yeah... she really doesn't seem to like you, that's unfortunate" he said aloud. He hadn't meant for it to sound so rude, but he just let the thought out of his mouth on accident. It was then that Nika commented on how there was so many people, and how they were all so happy, and she asked if they really believe it. Azreal's grip on Moana tightened as he heard Nika's words. The once ranging egg pokemon stopped, and looked towards him a bit alarmed at the sudden change in attitude. It seemed that the baby pokemon hadn't expected it, and for the first time the sassy gal gave him a look of concern. The pokemon never really thought about how it's new trainer would feel, however, Moana seemed to pick on his rather negative reaction "They might believe it, but this isn't real... it's just a fake illusion to fool those who want salvation. In the real world there is no fun or love. There's only destruction and carnage. Others might believe in this false sense of protection, happiness, and hope. I know better" he said lowly, whispering the last bit so softly others might not have even heard it.
After a few minutes of silence, he snapped out of his dazed state and shook his head "at... least that's how others might see it, you never know. We've only been here a few hours at most so... can't say whether there is reason to believe or not" he added quickly, looking away from Nika. His eyes landed on a booth, and there seemed to be another man there. However, he moved quickly towards it "Look it's one of those booths we've heard about, how about we try it" he said, changing the subject quickly as he made his way to the front of the booth. He had heard Nika ask if he wanted to play it earlier, so hopefully she'd just go with it and not question him about what he said earlier.

"I can't believe you maced a teacher" "'He wasn't a teacher!" Lex protested over their brother's laughter, sitting on the floor for lack of a chair and looking at the items the academy had given them. "And he was so stupid bubba! He tried to hit me! That's his job on the line if he rats on me" The uniform wasn't so bad..it was a girl uniform tho...and Lex wasn't a girl. Except here they had to be. Had to be a she, and wear the short shorts and a a girl bathing suit and be in a girl room. ( why were they separated like that? They felt more at home with the guys..now at least. What if the girls could tell they weren't one of them? Lex certainly felt they didn't belong with them. They rubbed at their eyes hoping their brother couldn't tell they had starting tearing up at this train of though. "Lexitong" "I hate it here already" they said kicking at the bag that held all their belongings and wondering if maybe the staff could procure a boy's uniform along with the girl one. Marcus sighed on the other line, used to Lex's tempers and preparing himself for a rant. Lex didn't dissapoint. "I don't wanna be here bubba. Everyone's stupid. I can already tell, they gender everything. It's gonna suck! I'd rather be out there even with Arcana playin Empire Earth on the Arceus-dammed regions!" Marcus always had some way to calm them down and there were few things he could ask that Lex wouldn't do. "Fine I guess....I'll be stuck in a room full of girls...maybe I'll make friends" Never mind the girls probably were gonna hate me, Lex thought sulkily or that I'm not a f-ing girl A voice called from the background and after a moment Marcus said he had to go. This made Lex frown..where was their brother even? They were sending rangers and trainers all over the place lately. "..you gonna be alright? I know you left Hoenn last week" "Yeeeah listen it's fine"he said. Lex could almost picture the carefree smile their older brother was known for...even when things weren't fine. "Love ya bubba" they said smiling slightly when Marcus returned the sentiment before hanging up the phone. Unfortunately the moment they did, the reprieve from their bad mood left them too. Lex stared down at the uniform they had been given ( why did the shorts have to be shorter for girls? Did they need to get scratched and frozen out there? With a frustrated sigh Lex threw the uniform down by their feet and paid for a game. They have to try in the school and calm down- they had to. But right now, the student just wanted to hit things. ( and maybe kill their uniform)
Nika noticed Moana's continued attitude toward her, and she actually found it amusing. The tiny thing wasn't a threat at all, yet it was pretty adamant about not liking her. She was about to tease the togepi when she noticed its expression change. Moana's attention was on Azreal, and Nika tuned into his words, taking in the bitterness. Five years ago, his words and body language would have shocked her. As it was, she took what he said and made a conclusion naturally. "Something happened to your family?" Oops. That was too direct, wasn't it? Nika was fine with direct, though. "Mine too. My Mom died." She said it simply, but her mind knew she was being reckless. She wasn't looking for sympathy, but it felt good to say it and dig in the pain. "But I dunno about that, Az," she said, thinking of all the things her Mom had believed in. "I think whatever makes the world good or bad is people, and I know there's at least two good people in it," she said, referring to him and her. "So there, we know it's not all bad. Well, actually, three, since I should count my Dad. And your family. And I guess if you have some friends you can add them in." Nika realized she was rambling. She'd really just wanted to make him feel better, even though she knew that it wasn't a quick fix. "I dunno. It starts with you. I guess." She winced inside at how textbook that middle part sounded. She was quoting her Mom, she just knew it.
Nika tried to interpret whether they now had some awkward air hanging between them. Azreal lost that air of something dark about him, so she assumed it was fine. And he quickly changed the subject to the Diglett game, so she was sure he just didn't want to talk about it. Nika herself was surprised by how...determined she'd felt talking about it. She really did want to believe in her Mom's ideals, but she didn't want to get preachy or anything annoying like that. She hoped Azreal didn't mind and they could just enjoy playing the game.
"Yeah! Hey, let's see who can get the most," she said, although she hadn't played the game before. The game came with a huge mallet and she hefted it in her arms, feeling the weight. "I've always wanted to play a game like this," she said, excited to get started. Calo watched the game intently from her shoulder, his keen eyes scanning over the holes and the diglett within.
