Yelena looked around and sighed as she entered the forest. This was so much different from the ice capped mountains she was used to. Though not being able to see as much of the sky was strange. She was glad she had traded her thick dress for something lighter when she left. It would have been murder to be here with such a thick fabric around her. She had also switched to a more water resistant cloak than the warm one though this one still had a good amount of warmth when needed. She pushed her hair out of her face again and tied the dreadlocks together to keep them in place. She had met some pretty nice people so far, which was so much different from what she was used to from home. She hoped she would be able to meet more people.

And coming here was even better because she would be able to meet and maybe even tame more beasts. She laughed as her little goat ran around her feet and bounced around. Such a silly little one. She leaned down and pet her then frowned as she raced off. "Aril! Come back. Don't run away sweetie. Where are you going? Come on don't run off. This isn't like back home. We don't know the territory out here!" She ran fast to keep up with her little friend. She didn't want to let anything bad happen to her. She was really worried and kept on running. Why wouldn't she stop? What was so interesting that she has heard or smelled to make her bolt like that?

"Come on Ari! Stop! Please stop running. I don't have as much stamina as you do!" She panted as she ran after her friend. Why wouldn't she stop running? What was so interesting? Was a predator around that had scared her little one? She frowned as she continued to race after her. Yelena wasn't sure how much longer she could chase her. This was getting to be a little bit ridiculous. She had no idea why the little one was running so much. She had never done this back home but then again back home Aril had felt a protective instinct probably. She sighed and frowned not sure about any of this anymore.

She panted and gasped as she kept racing after Aril. She almost tripped over a root and grabbed the tree so as not to get hurt. She looked around and caught sight of the light colored fur again and ran after it. She ran after her some more and almost wanted to pass out. Seriously did she have to run this much? She panted and saw her stop in front of someone who sat at the base of a tree. She watched as Aril tried to look as cute as possible to get attention. She chuckled and gasped as she walked over and leaned against a tree near the tree this one was leaning against. "I'm sorry about Aril if you want I can take her away. I'm really sorry she just doesn't like it when people aren't happy. I'm Yelena. Are you ok?" She was now worried about the girl sitting at the base of the tree.

She needed to breath but it was pretty hard with all the panting. Why has Aril had to run so far and so fast? She needed to run more it seemed if all this had been so hard for her. She wanted to be a beast tamer which meant she would seriously need to work on her stamina. She would work on that a lot so she could be really good. She wanted to become something that maybe one day her no there could actually be proud of and not feel disgusted by. She sighed and pushed her dreads out of her face. She panted more and looked at the girl sitting by the tree.

She frowned at that look. She knew that look. She had seen that look a lot back home and had hoped she would never see it again. She watched as Aril pouted at being rejected. She knew how much Aril licked to be pet. Aril bawed at the girl sadly wanting to be pet and make her happy. "Aril… her name… is Aril." She panted a bit. She frowned and shook her head. "Why would I spy… on you? I was… just following… Aril… she ran… so I followed… I didn't want… her getting hurt… or lost… she freaks out… when lost… she cries… a lot when… that happens." She wrapped her arm around her stomach a bit very nervous. She chewed on her lip. "It's nice to meet you Rain." She didn't know if that was true but that was what the lady gave her to call her. She clicked her tongue to get Aril to come to her but Aril shook her head. She didn't want to go until she cheered up the lady.

Yelena tilted her head a little bit as she tried to catch her breath. She really needed to catch her breath talking like this was difficult. She wasn't sure why this girl was watching her so much. She knew she looked like a freak but she wasn't this much of a freak. Was she? She frowned not sure anymore and loosened her cloak a bit more hoping that would help her breath. She tilted her head and tried the lifting arms thing and forcing herself to breath slowly. It was kind of hard but she focused. She closed her eyes and pictured those sunrises she would hold a lot for. She remembered that and focused on her breathing taking one slow breath at a time and it started to work. She relaxed a little hit and let her arms go down once she had her breathing under control. "Thank you. I need that. I've never run this much. I'm used to hiking and climbing so this is different."

She watched as Aril bounced around all excited at being pet. The little one was pretty cute and just wanted to make everyone happy. She chuckled as Aril sweetly head butted the hand and then licked it. She smiled more and watched a little bit. She frowned and shook her head. She didn't believe what she said. It was nice to hear but it was just talk. "You don't need to lie. I'm used to it. It's not a big deal. Everyone reacts like this to me. Some just lie about it for a while which just makes it worse. I'd rather know the truth from the start rather than have false hope." She shook her head and shrugged a little bit. She watched as Aril pranced around Rain and smiled. "Well at least she likes you which is a pretty good thing."

So it seemed that girl really did like her little roati. The little one was happy to bounce around and be adorable. She tended to enjoy it because it meant more people would give her attention though if she thought someone was going to hurt her friend she would bite or head butt them. She beamed looking very pleased with herself when she saw the smile. Yelena watched her and smiled too happy to see that she was able to smile from Aril.

She sighed and shrugged when the shifter started to speak some more. She didn't really want to argue. If it made people feel better to lie who was she to press the issue or make a big deal? It hurt a bit when the girl moved back away from her. Her eyes widened a bit as she heard that and she blinked a few times. "Oh. I'm sorry." She felt terrible now. What she had dealt with was nothing compared to that. She chewed on her lip and fiddled with her cloak. "I won't come too close if you don't want me to. Don't worry." She shook her head. "No. No one sent me after you. I was just following her." Points to Aril.

Yelena nodded her head. She hated it when people apologized to her too. "Alright. I won't apologize again. But whoever did have a hand in it or who was you master should be very sorry. Or someone should make them sorry." She wasn't ok with people being cruel to others. It struck way too close to home for her. She wished she could do something to make this lady smile. She didn't want the shifter to be upset.

She nodded her head back. "You're welcome. I'd hate to amke anyone uncomfortable. I know how bad that is." She made sure to keep a bit of distance between them so as not to upset her. She wrinkled her nose and stuck out her tongue. "Hey. Aril didn't run away from me. She caught an interesting scent and was running towards it to figure out what it was. Or maybe she knew someone was sad around here and wanted to make them happy." She smiled a bit since she was actually upset. She watched as Aril beamed with all the attention she was getting. Her little tail was wagging so much it was making her shake a little bit. She smiled as she watched rather happy about seeing her little friend so happy.

Yelena watched her and bit her tongue. Okay it was definitely time for a change of subject. She didn't want to make Rain feel uncomfortable or upset. She wanted to actually help the girl if she could, though she wasn't sure how she would be able to do that. But maybe Aril could help her. Rain seemed to like her friend and that was a good sign. She nodded her head. "No I get it. It's hard to work on things that have been so ingrained in your life. It takes time. I know my stuff is trivial in comparison but I understand the trying and how hard it can be to work through things. I won't get close and if I'm ever too close just let me know and I'll move away. Don't worry. I won't do anything to make you uncomfortable and if I accidentally do just let me know."

She laughed and nodded her head. "Yeah they do. And yeah they are. I'm only as sane as I am because of her. She's been there for me through a lot and always tries to help but that might be because I make sure she has enough food or because I saved her life. I'm not sure." She tried to make a joke to hopefully make Rain smile. Aril nuzzled the hand and licked it happily. "She might not let you stop petting her. Just a warning. She really loves attention and affection."

Yelena met the grey eyes with her yellow ones and smiled softly there was a lot of sadness in her smile. "More than just look at me funny. My own mother disowned me after she saw how people entreated a hybrid. My father was the only one who seemed to think I was anything special. Everyone in my village would say terrible things to be and sometimes did bad things. But yeah I get a lot of funny looks because of the way I look. It's a lot to take in. I can't really hide my differences they are out there for everyone to see." She shrugged and shook her head not really wanting to remember all that.

She touched her hair and sighed. "I try to. I wanted to honor my mother in some way and this was one way I thought I could. I just.... I don't know. I do try. But even in this attempt it doesn't truly work." She pulled on the dreads that were white which marked even this as different.

She laughed and smiled. "If she gets to be too much for you I cam pick her up and hold her. She might whine but she will be alright." Aril made apply sounds as the nice lady continued to pet her.
