An invitation, stamped with the sigil of a raven midflight, is sent to hundreds of beings. Despite their different lifestyles, their vast differences in mannerisms and so on, each of them have a single thing in common. Their unholy nature. They have all been invited to a castle off the coast of Aramil, thought long since abandoned. It can only be reached by boat, and a mysterious fog constantly pervades the waters near it. From the outside the castle looks worn down, destroyed by time and nature. Once the fog is passed it's true visage is shown. A grand cathedral styled building, absolutely beautiful. It is intricately crafted and the inside is even more opulent. Inside there are already a number of individuals, dressed for a gala. They all wear masks to hide their identities. There is music playing softly in the background to provide more ambience to the candle-lit scene. All around the ballroom are tables providing provisions, for each of its guests. Be it fruits, slabs of meat, or live offerings. Wine is constantly passed around by servants dressed with finely tailored suits and masks depicting raven faces. Almira is now the Countess. This is her Castle, filled with undead and living servants she acquired with the funds from being the child of a Count herself.

"All Your Steel Won't Protect You..."
TABTAB A masquerade? Lucien had not attended on in what seemed like decades. The fog was a nice trick, illusionary magic etched in latent energy that surrounded the castle. It would seem following his gut instincts had paid off: a messenger he would have killed without blinking an eye handed him an invitation of all things. No names, no need to pay for the delivery, no nothing as the small lad scampered off having done his duty. After reviewing the contents, he just had to attend, if nothing else then to sate his curiosity. He purchased a tailored suit that fit him impeccably, and found a mask. Odd, but then some dances and meetings had this requirement for a myriad of reasons, usually to keep identities secret.
TABTAB Within the hour of stepping into the castle's boat landing he had already integrated himself into the party, and with lack of a better thing to do he began to obtain information about the patrons. He had always been able to speak to people and find out more about them in a way that normally they would end up wanting to spill. Many people had a particular talent. This was his. He already had a woman who was heir to a massive amount of wealth as soon as her grandparents keeled over eating out of the palm of his hand. He had thought about it, seducing her in a natural way, making her believe she needed him, and then cementing his stake of her claim. There was another who was a man from the northern territories. He was hardened by a lifetime of combat, probably could kill anyone here straight up with a fork... maybe even a tea cup. Yet someone else Lucien had believing was an ally. A friend. Someone to confide in, someone to believe in. The masked man believed this place to be a waste of time, and an evil one at that. However, he did not seem to worry about a knife coming from behind to slit his throat. The Necro made a point to weasel out the man's name in order to remember him. He may just prove useful enough to ressurect as a minion later down the road.
TABTAB The oddity was that some people were of consequence... Yet some were not. Some had power, wealth, station, and yet others had nothing over the common man. Hell, some even had their clothes purchased for them. Some came alone while others came in groups. It had all the making of a socialite's desire to hold a party in their name with a population, regardless if they knew each other or not. However ther was something else entirely. Through the evening, Lucien could feel it on and off: this was a place of death. This place had a history, and if the feeling of spectres haunting these grounds was any indication, this place was not done claiming lives yet. Maybe this event would prove to be worth coming to after all. So he would socialize. He would drink and talk and dance and work his own talents to seek all of the knowledge and information he could of anyone or anything he could seem reasonable to be curious of. His life this cycle was of gaining knowledge until he reached the point where he could ask the question to the higher ups that had plagued his mind since his second life time, since before he became the Habit. He would seduce potential entertainment and would lower the guard of the unsuspecting. And if the time came to pounce, investigate, or flee, he would be ready at a moment's notice.
• Humans, being great leaders, both wise and cunning, apply a boost of +1 strength and speed to all of their allies (including themselves). This applies to summons, machines, necromantic minions, tamed animals, and RPCs
• Unleashed Power Humans do not have supernatural energy. Indeed, they were not originally capable of magic, like the other races. It took hundreds of years of conformity, training, and even technological help to develop the ability to learn magic. However, when the goal was finally accomplished and settled, their physical augmentation turned out to be quite impressive. Their bodies gained the ability to contain and control magic, and also a unique other ability, gained through this augmentation: the power to pull magical energy from other sources. Just as humans often resort to solar power for electricity and whatnot, they can devise similar tactics when it comes to energy. Humans can pull solar power, whether gradual (meaning even if you're out of the sunlight, you can still do this) or present. This adds a scaling number to their energy regen per post:
• Human Revolution All humans have augmentations. They are installed when you're born. Most of them are unnoticeable, as they're inside of your body. Some of them are very small, but that doesn't mean they're not powerful. All humans have the ability to choose one gene mod at the start of their creation, from this list:
~Undead Revolt: Undead minions (Necromancer Slaves) stats are increased by +2/+2, and their class abilities are increased by one rank.
• Lose Yourself A bit of cunning. A survival tactic. Humans know psychology very well, and are constantly looking for ways to gain an edge on someone. They're much less straightforward than other races, as they battle for psychological dominance, always. They can use this to their advantage. While speaking to people, you can use the assistance of your augmentations to discover their mental weaknesses, potentially even physical ones. This can judge emotional state as well. You can put two and two together to discover their traits, even recognizing signs of a different type of troubled background. These can be used to work your way out of many situations, as well as potentially assassinate or indoctrinate people.
• Detect Magic The magus can detect magic. This means when others cast spells, or emanate high amounts of energy, you can see their aura. This also means you can detect magic in an area, meaning if an area has something magical about it, you can feel it. At expert rank, you can determine the source in an area. Each source of magic has a special signature, meaning a magus will be able to recognize the energy of a person if they are expert rank or higher.
• Death SensePassive Necromancers have the keen ability to sense death. Be it something already dead, something recently dead, something about to die, etc. They will always know when ghosts are around them. This does not mean they can determine who it is nor is it able to lead them to the location of a Dead RPC they do not know about.
Paranoia had long since held a grip over Talia. So it was she had tied up the messenger to a chair and began to rather viciously extract information from them. "Who sent you? How did you find me?" The elf held a small doll in her hands protectively, eyes wild while her imagination ran rampant with devious thoughts. Had the woman finally come back for her? Talia needed answers. Now. Two ringed fingers grabbed hold of the little doll that bore a striking resemblance to the unfortunate soul she had captured. There was no response coming from the fearful man. Annoyance crossed her face. Talia squeezed the doll's arm and twisted it sharply to the right. Even though the man was tied up his arm jerked upward and outward. A muffled cry escaped past the gag she had tied around his mouth. The woman cracked a nervous smile at the scenario, merely because her effigy was effective. Heels clicked against the old wood of the room she was staying in, purposely chosen for its derelict shape. No one would expect a wealthy, high class individual to live her. She had taken precautions to stay anonymous during her time here. Once the groans of pain died down Talia removed the gag and roughly held the man's face. "One more time, if I do not receive an answer that I am satisfied with the next thing I shall snap will be your neck." The woman provided a sharp look and gripped the doll's neck menacingly as if to show she was being deathly serious. At first there was no reply, so Talia began to contort the doll. In time the man's head turned with the effigy. Finally! He cried out a name. Count Ravenovia. A flash of disappointment crossed her face. She'd half hoped that he wouldn't give up the name, now it was all over. Talia put the doll down and pushed stray locks of hair that had gotten loose during her trials. At least now she'd get to shop for a new dress.
The idea of a masquerade was tantalizing. Talia was standing in a shop, getting measured for a dress. She had designed it herself, gothic inspired, black, lined with mother-of-pearl. It would be fabulous. Her mask would be made of the same material, and would resemble a snake. Eying herself in the mirror Talia liked what she saw. She would be stunning, though it was hardly the reason the decision to attend had been made. A grand gala for witches, warlocks, demons, monsters, mages, and the rest of the unholy kind. It brought to mind the visage of a vile woman, one that never left her mind's eye. If even there was the slightest chance this witch would make an appearance, Talia had to be there. It would finally be her chance to murder that b***h.
That was how she found herself on the battlements of this castle. The boat ride had been dull and the fog proved more of an annoyance than something aesthetically pleasing to the eye. It clouded the senses of the arcane. Now rather than being able to tell apart these energy signatures it felt like one clouded mess of magic. It was perfect. No one would know that she had sent her familiar in her stead. It had taken her form, wearing the exact same outfit and portraying the exact same self. Meanwhile she hid herself in the shadows, watching and listening through her snake-self. The party itself was absolutely wondrous. So many interesting individuals ensconced in a single location. She had her familiar mingle with many of the guests, gathering information and pretending to be another one of the sheep in the herd all the while keeping an eye out for the one that she came here for. Instead she found herself next to a man of queer complexion, hair stark white and skin the same shade as what her original self appeared as. Talia's familiar stopped in front of Lucien, a cup of wine grasped in one hand. "Well hello, enjoying the party?" He had made himself a bit of a spectacle, being so integrated with the crowd and making odd friends wherever he went. Curiosity had spread, and this was a good a place as any to start with leads. "How far have you come for this? Was it the same for you, a mysterious invitation from a stranger?" Talia spoke with an accent, a sultry voice lifted by something akin to elvish. Even behind the mask Talia appeared stunning. It covered only just above the cheek bones, flaring on one edge. She had some of her hair pinned up in an intricate bun, the rest spilling out around her face in a fashionable frame-like manner. Her lips were blood-red, painted for the evening.

Not only are their casting times reduced by one post, but their spells are increased in size and range (and speed... slightly). This makes their magic harder to dodge, further solidifying them as the most efficient magic-users. The rate at which size/range are increased = add 1/3 of the base. So, 15 feet in length would become 20 feet in length. Speed is increased by about 1/5th, although this can become overwhelming if you constantly sling spells.

This allows for a wide-range of spells that are not possible with other bloodlines, simply in concept. Furthermore, these spells are all free of energy, as they use the mana nearby, not your own reserves.
These abilities, as listed: The Dance of Veils By projecting your magical conscious somewhere else, a very quick and easy process, you may warp to that location, similar to a teleport. Upon disappearing, your location is wrapped in a dusk-colored shroud, and re-appearing is animated by a bright white flash. Of course, this is a very useful spell, but it may only be done once every other post. You can only teleport up to twenty feet away. It should be noted that you only project your [magical conscious] here, meaning you don't go blank or lose concentration while using this.
• The Bride of Justor In legend, it is told that the very first Dark Elf, Cirstec, was made into a demi-goddess by Justor, brought up to be his bride. This ability conjures her influence in the mana rather than his, allowing for a unique spell. Cirstec will allow you to twist the light around you, making you invisible to the enemy's eyes. Those with good hearing/smell can still sense you, but many people will be unable. Striking, casting or moving too quickly will break this ability. This means all you can really do is walk. It's useful when cornered, as it's a very potent hiding skill. It's also useful when trying to use a surprise attack, although the technique will end the moment you begin the attack. The most common use of Cirstec's shroud is waiting for the cooldown on the Veil (teleportation) to come off, so that you may make distance between you and the target. The Veil will not end the shroud until it has already teleported you.
• I am loved This is a legendary ability of the Dark Elves, only spoken of in stories for its heartwarming take on the relationship of Justor, his bride, and their children. If a dark elf is to die, their light fading and their blood running cold, they may call upon their God and hope that he answers. Generate a number between 1-3. If it's two, Justor will personally project his own power into the mana and restore you, a divine intervention only made possible through the love between the elves and their god. If anything other than two, he will not hear you, and you are on your own. This can only be attempted once a month in earth time.

• I am yours Talia Kane's familiar often chooses the form of a snake. It is able to communicate with her in ways no one else can, by emotion, by thought, by touch, etc. Even if there is distance between them they are of a shared mind, for the familiar is an extension of her. It comes with 500 energy of its own kind. The energy signature is the same as Talia's, therefore indecipherable from her own by anyone who can sense energy. The familiar can be destroyed by attacks of equal rank to it, though it will always reform and return to Talia. At C-rank it takes merely a post for it to return. For each rank above that the count is increased, capping at 3 posts. Every time the familiar dies its energy pool is depleted by 100. It recharges when the pool is drained, though it must be outside of battle to do so. The familiar can act as a conduit for Talia's spells, though the energy withdrawal comes from her own pool when casting spells not related to the talent.

"All Your Steel Won't Protect You..."
TABTAB Behind his masked face, Lucien's eyebrow raised. For a while now the only way to start a conversation with others was to approach them. Now here he stood with what could only be described as an almost perfect specimen. He raised his glass to her softly, acknowledging her. He, however, never took a sip. As it stood, he had not allowed a single drop of any of the liquid served pass through his lips. He had been wiry of it; too many alchemists and chemists able to use such a common drink to their own advantages.
TABTAB Already probing for information, was she? A smile played across his lips as he pondered something momentarily. "The spectacle of it all made the trip worth it. Rather dull out in the world now. I find these social gatherings... entertaining for one reason or another." His voice kept calm and smooth, though not overtly so. His posture told her he was someone she could speak to. His tone and the way he spoke whispered to her that he could be pleasant company, if nothing else. It was something he had developed. It was not any sort of magic, but merely his own control over his body and self to present to his audience someone they could connect with, and more importantly share with. "As for the invitation, that sounds just." He pointed to some of the more unsettling individuals in attendance. "Though I will say I do not envy the fate of the messengers sent to those who gorge on their trade rather than savor in it." A smirk, possibly a poor attempt at levity, but also words laced with a warning: there are those that do not hold themselves back from the kill. Those that are messy and unrefined. These people are not his associates, and neither should they be her's. An olive branch already? Perhaps. This is what the fair woman would derive from his voice.
TABTAB His gray eyes shifted behind the black mask adorned with what seemed to be a skull. Only now did the queerness of this meeting occur to him. The Snake and the Skull. The old folk's tale of his home was not lost to him, nor its meaning. The snake, however mesmerizing, was always just as dangerous and poisonous. Some risks were worth holding close though, at least for a time. "Your body wreaks of death." He shifted his position, being beside her instead of in front of her. His being told her he was not threatening her, merely changing positions for a different view. "It suits such a lovely creatures such as yourself. Not enough to veil your allure, but enough to entice people who are drawn to such things." A soft 'hmph'. "I like it." Slowly but surely he was creating a bubble within the ballroom that separated them from the others. It was a subtle thing indeed, but the entire time his eyes were scanning her. Seeing her reactions, facial expressions, analyzing her voice if she responded to him in a certain way. It was not a hostile act, what he did, merely a game played for centuries with only one participant being aware that there was a board at all.

Macabre. That had been the word she used. It rolled from her tongue as she read over the bloodstained invitation. The servant whom had been sent to deliver the message to her, or perhaps she was a courier, had said it would be such, and yet Almira was not so interested as the ruby gems locked onto the woman. Castiefol, her spear, was reared above her head like a scorpion, cold steel like blade poised to strike threateningly. The blood on the invitation had come from her own hands. She was fresh off of a kill, coming down from another accidental bloodlust. She couldn't be made to feel bad about this one particular casualty. He was likely to be felled anyway given his predilection for violence; he had attacked her thinking she was no more than a dainty little girl. Stab wound perforated him from Increase, the dagger form of her spear. And then his blood flowed from his body, sending the unrepentant queen into a rage. Now the spear blade was clean once more while her eyes examined the scrap of paper.
"I suppose it could be fun," was her only response, form becoming enshrouded by the darkness of the night. Red lights, a pair of dots in the gloom were last to fade as a burst of bats carried the woman away from the scene, taking Chastiefol with it.
Donning her favorite dress and a mask to cover only the left side of a opalescent, pure face. She on the edge of her seat for most of the journey by boat from Lumiria to the castle. Extraordinary patiencee gripping the princess, whom wanted to show up if for no other reason than to see just what sort of friends she could make. Perhaps she would find a new charge here. Perhaps she would not, and she would only find good fun. By the time the boat made port, it would be eerily empty save for Almira with Castiefol shining darkly in a way only it could. She stepped onto the dock, marvelling at the architectural marvel before her. It looked decrepit, empty even through the fog. Now it was beautiful, as if crafted by the hand of a god directly. "Fit for a princess this plane is." she thought giving the boat a push with her foot. The largeish boat gave no resistance, merely pushing off to become another ghost story of the great ocean. Licking a bit of red from the corner of her lips, the Vampress walked towards the inside of the castle.
Her nose was assaulted by scents of all manner, her hearing bombarded by noise of all manner, her eyes smothered by the colors. This was her kind of party. A glass of wine found it's way to her hand and she began took but a sip. High class wine too? Incredible. Wheover had arranged this went to great lengths to gather the dark and unholy here. She could only wonder why for so long before walking among the people. From where she was, the woman heard a man pay someone a compliment, perhaps that she wreaked of death would only be a compliment in present company, perhaps not. Even still, the Vampire Queen made her way over to closer inspect the first thing to really catch her attention. Blond locks bounced as she approached. He rnose told her what she needed to know more than her sight did here. A human. And then her eyes did pick knife ears aside the woman's head. Quiet as a shadow she walked, as always, and didn't speak until she was mere feet away from the pair. "A human and an Elf in present company?" she teased with her head cocked to the side, left side down, exposed side up with the wine inches from lips painted a light shade of pink, dress frilly over black stockings, belts in odd places here and there. "With a snake that smells of death for the latter, and a man attracted to such things..." she paused locking eyes with either of them. "I dare say brave necromancers, before me?" With that she would await a response, hopefully something candid or clever.

It was a dance not unlike one that had steps and twists and turns. One she was well versed in, and one that she did not like. The real Talia scowled in to the darkness, though her counterpart held a soft smile, one that mere touched her lips and did nothing to lift the emotion in her eye. Wariness pervaded her every sense. There was a motive behind the actions that one took, this man must have one as well. The way he spoke to her made it clear. His voice was smooth and steady, deep and ringing with a tone of want. It set her skin to crawl, but the she-snake reacted in a way that would be expected of her. Her mask shifted slightly as she bit her bottom lip just before raising the glass and taking a sip of it. Despite its deep color it tasted sweet, like honey. A flash of something predatory in her eyes, the snake wanting to lash out and sink its fangs in to this human's face repeatedly. "Please tell me, what draws you to death? Is it a yearning to be released from the woes of life?" Her voice was sarcastic, uninterested. So far Lucien had made himself out to be very similar to the other necromancers she had met in the past. Obsessed with decay and the moment when life leaves a body. None of them truly understood what this power meant, and it sickened Talia to see them so excited over these matters. Not far off there was some sort of half demon bragging about how he had torn the spine from his messenger with one hand. Her head slightly turned to see, and her eyes narrowed to near slits. Talia also killed the courier, though only because she had shown her power and needed it to remain a secret. At least she wasn't bragging about it. This manipulation over death, for her, was merely a means to an end.
A scent often precedes a person before they arrive. The she-snake's tongue darted out from between her lips and licked them, covering the action of tasting the air. Through their link Talia could smell it. It was lovely, and horrible at the same time. Shadowed greens flickered from the man to the beholder of such a softer voice. Soft features, golden tresses curling around a very unique face. Pale, even moreso than Talia herself in her chosen form. It was almost like one of those salacious paintings the elf had seen decorating the halls of disreputable facilities. Only it walked and talked, and it gazed out from half-lidded eyes with what felt like an ever-present maliciousness inside of them. Their eyes would meet through their masks, and there it became evident. Life was not coursing through Almira.
"How strange to call another 'necromancer' when death has been staved off in you, not us. Who's life-blood runs through your veins tonight?" Talia angled her head to the side like an animal surveying a prey, though it was not with the intent to kill. This time at least. Things seemed to be getting more interesting. The human had succeeded in creating a space for them. Carving out a circle in the midst of a crowd that started to partake in an actual dance. In time with a music the sheep swayed, bleating like dumb creatures so entranced by the gawdy show that had been put on. Talia Kane, a mere practitioner of the dark arts come to see what wonders the underworld has in store for a woman like me. Curious, are you one of those wonders?" She could feel a chill down her spine then, some disturbance in the fog that set her teeth to chattering. The she-snake's eyes flashed about, searching for it. All that was discernible was how immensely they stood out from the people, a stand-still amidst a wave of movement. She extended her hand to Lucien in a way that suggested there was little choice but to take it. "Come, let us dance." A strange switch from her earlier impassivity to him. He would serve as a camouflage for now, though as she led the man in to the proper position for such a dance as this her eyes did not leave Almira's. There was merely something about her that seemed infinitely interesting.

TABTAB Amazingly the night was becoming something to remember. The vampire, the other necro. It would seem as though his decision to come to the festivities on this night had not gone unrewarded. Whether or not it would turn sour or not was to be decided. A frown played on his features when asked to dance after the vampire approached. "You would be correct, however my present company takes priority. I doubt you will find others to produce decent conversation with, but by all means if you wish to watch I have no issue." He gave a slight bow to the vampire woman, making a note in the back of his mind that there was now another player on the board.
TABTAB He followed this Talia and allowed her to lead him. He had noticed her almost animalistic tendencies with sudden, almost out of place movements. Her scalekin motif for the evening matched more perfectly than he had first realized. He pondered a bit on why that was, but allowed that puzzle to be shelved in his mind for the present time. "To answer your questions... There is no short answer, though I shall attempt to keep the boring details from being spoken." He began with that confession. He wondered just how much he should divulge, and how much of his story the woman would actually believe. It was a work of well written fiction to those who were uneducated. Maybe she she would be just enough out of the common thought process to believe even a hint of the tale. His movements were practiced, almost impeccable. His hold on her was not demanding, merely guiding as was the tradition for these sort of events.
TABTAB"Before the time of those with power beyond humanity, there was a man with a family who lived as religious centers for their populous. They did their god's work, and were promised that if they followed the instructions given, they would be rewarded." Lucien's face betrayed no emotion, nor did his tone. He kept his eyes only on her as the pair moved in step. "Their reward was silence in the time they required help the most." There is was. A soft betrayal of anger, quickly smothered and swept away. "When the man died after he lost everything else, there was no light to guide him nor anything else. Simply a pitch black that embraced his being. He stewed in the emotions the events that occurred, and came to an understanding that he did not like how they played out. He, being essentially nothing physical, willed himself back into the living plane. His soul came into possession of another body and another life, though retaining what he had before. He had a new goal: find the answer to one simple question birthed from the lie he devoted his first lifetime to."
TABTAB He allowed his eyes a moment to scan their surroundings. Unsurprisingly the alluring creature before him had already acquired more than one silent admirer. "You asked what drew me to death. It is death that seems to be drawn to me. Life was something I had been drawn to first, but it was death that came to me when life abandoned me. And with it came.... talents that I have grown proficient with. My name is Lucien Reneau, and I may be such a wonder if you can admit that such a woman is not so 'mere' compared to those present." And now he would wait for her response, continuing to follow these practices steps and motions. The more intimate details were not shared, and most likely would not be unless she desires to hear them. And judging from her dispositions before she would not unless she planned to shock him. There was also the vampire that had just made it to the castle. He wanted to find out more about her; alliances were going to be forged here and he would rather have her as an ally than a pair of fangs ready to strike from behind.
• Death Sense Necromancers have the keen ability to sense death. Be it something already dead, something recently dead, something about to die, etc. They will always know when ghosts are around them. This does not mean they can determine who it is nor is it able to lead them to the location of a Dead RPC they do not know about.

In a word, Talia was interesting. Her friend, Lucien too had piqued the attention of Almira moreso than a few seconds prior. Red blips amid oceans of white locked on the woman's form, seeing every minute movement through heightened senses. Her witty response that had come after but a second of examination amused the young Vampire more than the alluring scent of the very lifeblood she had joked about. Taking a sip of wine before speaking, but not breaking eye contact, Almira formulated a response born of wit and truth alike. "Well, a boat full of desiccated corpses may or may not be floating away," she mused with a noticeable accent melded with a tone both sultry and posh. An experienced ear could place it easily; demonica. The language of Vaet Nocturnum and it's charges. The golden threads framing her face bounced as she nodded to the woman's name and question. Even as the noise of the mass gathered increased with the music Almira was, on the whole, unbothered by them. If vampires couldn't tune out sounds then they would never be able to live in such a busy world. Sensory overload would destroy them. "They call me Almira Herakk in Lumira. But you may call me Miri, your wonder for the evening." A short bow out of habit when she introduced herself would betray that she was no mere vampire, but rather the child of someone with influence.
When the Human spoke, she took a sip of the red wine, deeper than blood but not as thick or even close to as filling. She committed his voice to memory, the same as Talia. It was a fine, strong voice laced with confidence and invitation. She giggled a bit, licking the fermented grape juice from her lips as Talia pulled him away. She scoffed playfully in response. "No no dear," she would say as the woman took notably silent steps after them. "I will not be so easily shoved aside," she offered feeding into the challenge in Talia's eyes. She moved in step with the trio as well, though she gave them a bit of space as her ears heard the man's tale. Her glass was about empty finally, by the time he finished his story and introduced himself. She spoke then, taking it upon herself to muse a little as well.
"Betrayal by the gods is not so unique a fall to take, dear Luicen. My father devoutly followed behind Zachariah. Hell he dragged me into such madness, forcing me into the military as his only begotten child. The only Heir to House Herakk forced into the military. Well... at least in his campaign against Yuran I earned a name for myself. When Zachariah finished his conquest in Pronta, my father was not in those he chose as his beneficiaries. And he too was left behind after all he had done. Oh and then some other old vampire lord killed him, and then my mother killed him and I left. Not a very interesting tale, but one of godly betrayal nonetheless. That, my dear, is where Mazdakism is getting it's steam. But we are far too interesting to let religion rule our conversation, forgive me. Especially when present company is far more interesting. You two don't happen to know who it was who invited us, by chance," she would inquire curiously as once more the scent of blood assaulted her senses, trying to break her calm state. Her previous meal was beginning to wear away, and soon she'd be thirsty once more. Such are the woes of the Night Queen.

Talia had been well versed in the art of living the high life long before either of the two had been old enough to walk. She artfully moved from position to position, her slender gown clinging to a womanly shape with every twist and turn. Lucien proved to be a decent partner, but it was not until Almira joined rank that it became truly a spectacle. Without a single flawed move the witch would twirl from the human and frame herself perfectly against the vampiress, leading the shorter woman in time to the music. Seamlessly they would switch, the three of them turning a partnered dance into an art form.
While they stepped in rhythm Talia gave heed to Lucien's monologue. She was mentally scowling at him, though her familiar would not betray the real emotion that ran rampant through her. Despite the necromancy, despite the dark deeds she had done to reach her dreams Talia was incredibly devout. Faith had been put in to Justor, and even Solonor since she had been but a babe. Her life had been given over to these cosmically powerful beings as well, and she too had been hurt. The woman would not be here had it not been for her piety, but did she blame Justor? No. Somewhere along the way Talia had to have faltered. Maybe she had not prayed enough or her life was not worthy due to a hidden wickedness that she had not earlier perceived. Everyone had to go through their trials and tribulations. Lucien's had been seeing the end. His faith had been shaken and he failed. Now he was truly damned. But not her. Repentance was always an option. There were things that needed to be done, first. In time Talia would return to her lord's good grace. For now, it was mingling with the likes of the wretched and accursed. She decided that the time may as well be enjoyed.
The coquettish tint to Almira's words had even the real Talia smirking from underneath the mask. By the time the vanguard's speech began another glass of wine had found itself in the hands of the necromancer via one of the wandering servants. She found herself wanting to tear way the full-face coverage each of them bore, to see what was beneath. Something was off about them, though it was hard to sense. Again the she-snake licked at her lips, covered by her previous sip of wine. There it was! These bodies were cold. Inhumanely so. Even a vampire had a heat signature. The warm blood they ingested gave them a form of warmth, even if it was slight. Talia's familar took in a deep breath as the servant turned away from her, passing mere inches near her. Decay. These were undead. How macabre. Bringing her attention back to Amlira Talia noted on how similar all of their lives seem to be. Each at some point having been attached to one god or the other. It seemed the other two had been far less fortunate in their relations though. Where they had to live knowing their gods didn't care about them, Talia had concrete proof of the mutual connection. The marks, the power, the history; elves had been favored by gods for so long and that would not change.
"Yes, actually. His name is Count Ravenovia." As if her words had heralded the arrival of their host, the music suddenly stopped. A bout of applause rang throughout the air and each candle that cast light was somehow dimmed. Two braziers went up at the front end of the room, signaling all to look in that direction. Talia's snake familiar crossed its arms over its chest, one hand poised around her glass of wine. A hush had settled over the crowd, everyone wished to catch a glance at whomever could provide such an illustrious setting for a grand meeting such as this. In a plume of milky shadow emerged a tall and thin man. He was gaunt, a face older than possibly the stones that created the foundation's castle. Long white hair flowed free from his head. A hooked nose cast a shadow over a crooked and complacent grin. "Good evening, and welcome to my home. I am Count Ravenovia. It was I who had letters sent out all across the world, each spelled to find a singular recipient. It seems that most, if not all who received one such letter has chosen to arrive. Excellent. You have dined on my food, tasted of my wine and my offerings. Now I ask but a single thing from you all in return." The man clasped his hands together before his chest and smiled sweetly. "Your souls." A burst of energy came from his body, as black as the abyss. It would sweep across the room from wall to wall, covering over everyone in attendance. Bodies would crumple to the floor, no trace of life left in them. The screams that arose were cut short. This energy soon reached the trio, and when it did Talia's head snapped back and her mouth opened as if to exclaim something. Before any noise came out she too fell to the ground, lifeless.
The real Talia gasped at the sudden disconnection to her familiar. From her chosen place of hiding the dark magic did not reach her, it merely had temporarily destroyed the snake. She hissed under her breath and quickly found her way down to the ballroom where the party had been taking place. Any who managed to deflect or defend against the energy would soon find themselves swarmed by at least four of the servants. These beings would tr to apprehend the survivors and plunge dagger after dagger in to their bodies. Then, their energy would be siphoned the same way as the rest of them. At the front of the room upon a raised dais was the Count himself, channeling the spell.
Energy 825 Stats 4/8 Equipment - Passives
• Dementia This ability allows them to store a tiny fraction of Justor's magic into their own body. The result is simple and yet very efficient.
• Mania *Can be used at any time The Dark Elves may project their immediate conscious into the moonlight, and projecting your conscious into very nearby mana allows you to directly connect to Justor's energy.

TABTAB And so came the dance's conclusion, the real show just beginning. Finally he had someone decent company, and yet that was ruined. Though he could not say he was surprised, given the local and design of this meeting. His body tingled with a sensation as he looked at the Count. His magus teachings firing on all cylinders when the feeling came from him, energy being manipulated. He countered the blast of energy with a blast of his own, albeit more crude and generic, in the form of a forest green energy sphere that exploded on impact. He grunted, surveying the situation. He unsheathed his sword and pointed upward slightly. Only now did a slightly sadistic looking smile appear on his face. This fool, in the desire to claim more power, was going to give Lucien a fount from which to gain his own power from.
TABTAB He then flipped the blade of the sword down and stabbed it into the ground. After a moment's wait, five skeletons clad in armor and melee weapons shrieked as they broke through the floor before the assailants that threatened the human. A moment later, another group of five skeletons with equally worn and decrepit equipment erupted from the ground beside the vampire to ward off her would-be attackers. Another moment, another set of five skeletons that would protect a woman that was... coming... in... The same woman he just saw get taken down? Thoughts for another time. The last set came up, towards the back behind Lucien. These however came armed with bows and quivers, which they immediately aimed and fired at the Count on Lucien's command.
TABTAB This fool was playing with forces he did not yet understand. But he would, in all due time.

And finally he showed himself, their mysterious benefactor, the man pulling the strings from behind the scenes. The crimson stare held his face as he spoke, she heard the twist of his tongue, saw the crook of his knows and old cracked lips. She flared her nostrils at the offensive display before her. And then... well then it happened. She saw him when he begna to prepare his assault, and a trained eye knew what was coming. Black lines broke forth from her eye's corner, almost as if digging towards the outer rim and she bared her fangs on reflex. Chastiefol levitated from her back then, stabbing defensively into the ground ahead of her. "Second form: Defense" she spoke in a commanding tone. A brightlight flashed, not harmful to her notwithstanding, and a green bear poofed to life between her and the wave of death he had summoned. The bear took the brunt of the damage, showing no sign of faltering and Almira turned to see it just in time when Talia's head snapped back and she seemed to fall to the ground. Exception hearing herad no breath, no heartbeat, no sighns of life at all. Not even blood. Confusion would have to wait as the servants began their assault.Chastiefol smacked the first to dive in straight down into the ground, crushing his skull and chest against the cold stone below. Her eyes rolled back into her head, trying not to give into the bloodlust she had set up precautions against. Steeling her will, she seemed resolved fully. Her own fist cracked into another skull before her and she reeled back immediately, ignoring the gore splattering against it. The guardian bear stood between her and the count, but she could still sense he was there and was undistracted, even as the dirt shifted below her feet. The skeletons rose, but her focus hadn't shifted. A loud hiss freed from her throat once more as the bear shoved a pair of the skeletons aside and Almira started to directly march toward him with her Guardian smashing any who would dare to stand in her path.
Passives • Regeneration This is passive meaning it does it on its own. At different ranks you may regenerate your wounds. Trainees can only deal with cuts, by novice deep cuts, Adept rank you wont bother with a broken bone, masters can deal with an entire sword going through your body, and you can deal with a removed arm or leg, as well as internal damage to the organs.
• Telepathy A skill that simply allows vampires to communicate with other vampires or those they have bitten within a week, letting them discuss strategy or simply have a discussion. The range of how far one must be from the other is vast, to be able to communicate one must be within the same country as the target. However, to be able to speak with them they must know each other. In the case of a progeny and a creator, they can talk to each other from across the world. The creator can also physically effect their progenies from anywhere, making them feel a longing to come to the one who turned them.
• The Rite of Blood Upon obtaining expert rank, you may use this ability only twice, so choose wisely. If someone has died and not yet rotted completely, you may bring them back as a vampire. The ritual is simple; shove a liter of blood down their throat, and then bring them somewhere with no light. Not even moonlight. If this is done before rotting gets too grim, after a few hours they'll rise up, as your progeny. Being a progeny has benefits and losses. The one who turned you into a vampire will always feel the desire to protect you, and will not do harm onto you. Similarly, you will feel the same protective instinct, preventing you from harming them as well. You literally can't find it within you to hurt them. The one who turned you can get you used to being a vampire; to the life of bloodlust, avoiding the sun, whatnot. However, you will always be connected to them in a way some may not like. Their words will influence you, and greatly. While they cannot simply 'command' you, they can make you want to do things that you wouldn't ordinarily do, and could almost certainly make you do things that you would ordinarily do. You want to impress them. They're like your rolemodel, and your mind can fall under the mercy of their will. This is the benefit of owning a progeny.
• Every knight has the ability to ignore pain in battle, even ignoring the pain of severed limbs for a certain amount of time. • Knights have access to a standard set of skills regardless of their specialization. • Knights gain access to a single Claimed Weapon. This weapon varies, as some specializations may only utilize certain weapons (i.e. Reavers gain a sacrificial dagger). This weapon must be applied for and approved, but in return this weapon may have devastating effects and perks attached to it. What might be "OP" for another class to have might be okay for you to have. All claimed weapons are extremely durable, and they may only be broken while not in the users hands. • Knights may not go past A Rank with their elemental skills. This means that they may never become a master of an element.
• Vanguards are masters of single handed weaponry and shields. As such, they obtain a +1 in power to all single handed weapons (Jians, longsword, katana) and shield skills. • Claimed Items: May claim armor, weapons, shields and trinkets that have special effects. • Sunder: If using an attack and the opponent conjures up a barrier, the user may shatter the defense if it is two ranks below them. If the barrier is one rank below them, they can stagger the opponent with just sheer force, causing them to be so distracted with their next post that only one skill can be used. • Vanguards suffer a -1 rank in defense against elemental skills. The elements seep into their armor with ease.

The Count paid no mind to how many of his servants fell in battle. Each of the masked minions would fight until they were literally unable to. Should a limb or three be lopped off they would still attempt to kick or bite or scratch at the survivors. The skeleton warriors that were summoned by the human were almost completely ignored. And so it was that there was a very bloody fight ensuing, leaving the bone and metal beings almost completely unscathed. Arrows launching through the air, with inhumane reaction time the Count waved his hand in the air and diverted their course, aiming them instead at Almira. Talia, escorted by the skeletons from Lucien, marched through the room with anger and annoyance clear on her face. How could she had been so daft as to expect the night to be anything but a trap? What was worse was how she had not even been able to locate the woman. She stood in the middle of the dead and extended her hands out to either side of her body. Dark forests bathed in fury circled backward and gave way to white s her eyes rolled back in to her head. A sanguine aura leaked out of her body and spread across the floor, coiling and unwinding like a fine mist in the wind. Her essence seeped in to the fallen masses and entered their mouths. Eight of those who lost their lives after the Count's first attack took in a breath they no longer needed and sat up.
Sensing an opportunity to strike, the Count opened his maw and flashed his fangs. In a burst he exploded, turning in to hundreds of tiny bats. They swarmed forth and as he neared the necromancer channeling her energy he took form once more. Her undead were beginning to rise and come to her, lurching forward with outstretched hands. The moment he materialized a burst of wind shoved anything surrounding her backward. The Count seized Talia and pulled her close. He reared back and then sank his fangs in to her neck. The sudden pain cut off the spell she was focusing on, leaving only the initial eight undead to finish coming under her control. A scream escaped her lips, more from how much she disliked being bitten than the actual pain of the bite itself. "b*****d! How dare you profane my body with your putrid breath!" Talia shouted as she struggled to pull away from him. This caused him to bite down even harder and tighten his grip on her arms. Her undead now found themselves entangled with the skeleton and minion battle, leaving her wholly undefended. The woman let out a growl in her rage and shoved a polluted smog from her body. It surrounded the immediate area, about five feet all around her. As this smog enveloped the Count he released her from his hold, shoving her backward and clutching at his face which had begun to boil and pop. For a moment he was left wide open.
Energy 1325 Stats 3/10 Equipment - Passives
• Dementia This ability allows them to store a tiny fraction of Justor's magic into their own body. The result is simple and yet very efficient.
• Mania *Can be used at any time The Dark Elves may project their immediate conscious into the moonlight, and projecting your conscious into very nearby mana allows you to directly connect to Justor's energy.
• Death Sense Necromancers have the keen ability to sense death. Be it something already dead, something recently dead, something about to die, etc. They will always know when ghosts are around them. This does not mean they can determine who it is nor is it able to lead them to the location of a Dead RPC they do not know about.
TABTAB So that was how it was going to be. He was starting to get a grasp on each individual's role in the fight. Skeletons summoned behind the vampire used their shields to block the arrows redirected to her from the volley from his bowmen. Those that were risen around Talia would use this moment of his distractedness to mob him, shoving their swords at his body and wrapping their limbs around him in an attempt to hold him as that same vampire would be given an easier time to unleash her own brand of devastation upon the host of the evening. The lives of the skeletons did not matter. They were pawns being used for the use of the more important pieces on the board. As for the risen party-goers, the opposing vampire apparently had no inkling of how to properly empower his puppets. While his minions would seem effective for this event, they would be highly outclassed and outmatched by Lucien's skeletons. They were stronger, faster, more durable, and were fashioned for the very use of being soldiers. Their movements were more fluid than one would expect from undead beings, more coordinated in their attacks. When the opportunity would arise they would sidestep an attack to deliver a swift counter strike. One would block a blow with its shield for another skeleton. They were a fighting force, not a mass of anarchy. Each skeleton would not move from a defensive posture from their assigned charge, but would indeed shift their bodied cluster to avoid impeding said charge's actions. Such as the skeletons guarding Almira now from behind instead of in front as she pressed forward with her own guardian.
TABTAB A smirk grew on Lucien's face as once again he channeled his energy, this time into the bodies of the recently fallen as his right arm raised. For a moment, there would be nothing. Then, their eyes would open wide as they slowly rise. The new energy within their bodies repaired the essentials to be able to function. They would become stronger and faster than they had been before, now serving a new master in their second undeath. Twenty more were added to Lucien's scores, which now ranged in the flurries as their opponent had neglected to deal with any of these minions. It was slowly becoming crowded in the hall. While Lucien himself made no attacks or assaults, he never stopped analyzing the situation as it developed. His focs never wavered or dipped. He was no soldier himself, he was a commander.
So he too was a vampire. Interesting. His body moved in a puff of shadowy bats towards Talia... wait wasn't she dead a second ago? No matter, mages could make something of that sort seem like child's play. She watched him keenly, ignoring her skeletal allies as they protected her along side Chastiefol who continued to smash and batter her assailants who didn't seem to understand just how massively outclassed they were. Blood splashed everywhere but Almira's otherworldly focus held on her target. She licked her lips and poised as he sunk his fangs into Talia. The smell of blood mixed with his breath, and though it smelled awful she was rather curious still what he would taste like. She herself turned into a mass of shadows resembling bats and moved in just as the swords sunk into his body. She was all but drooling when her body formed once more and she shoved her hand into the back of his chest. With the skeletons holding him, she figured he would have no way to stop her as she closed her grip around the beating muscle. A sharp pain in her back did not distract her as an arrow pierced her upper right side. She pulled backwards and freed the heart from it's cage with no difficulty, holding the beating muscle in her hand as Chastiefol turned back into a spear and she bit down into it, drinking deep from what was inside of it. She tossed it aside as the once lively organ turned gray upon the ground, and then she grabbed his neck and from the hole in his back, all of his blood flowed free in an unnatural way, dessicating him, though not completely.
Bloodred liquid flowed to the woman's mouth rapidly, momentarily abating her hunger as she eyed the woman who he had attacked and smirked. Not even a vampire of his caliber could survive without his heart, or with his blood removed the way she had done it. Even if he had he would be in fairly dire straights. In her eyes something seemed to twinkle. The infamous Sin of Gluttony stood before Talia. "What do you say we finish cleaning up the remnants of his small army... and then we can chat?" she would propose as with a snap of her fingers her weapon turned into a dozen or so daggers that began crashing into the servants nearby, who should probably have seemed a bit demoralized at this point. Especially with the glowing tattoo on her neck showing them who she really was, at least those who knew of her anyway/

Talia's own undead brutally shoved at the count the instant skeletal warriors wrapped their arms around him to hold him back. It was right in to Almira's extended hand that the count fell. Surprise crossed his face, the veins popping in tension as she clawed her way to his still-beating heart. The elf raised her hand to her neck to staunch the bleeding, heavy lidded eyes still crazed from the assault watching with a twisted interest. Slender fingers seeped with her own life's source, slick from the thick liquid pouring forth from her body. With fascination she watched the vampiress sink her teeth in to the count's heart, engorging herself upon his blood, her blood. Her eyes widened, alive like a fire dancing in the night. Lips parted slightly as a small breath escaped from betwixt them. The scene was so macabre, so bloody hellish and grueling. Yet no part of Talia wanted to look away. All around them minions were falling to the floor, being pulled apart or cleaved in two. Bones clattered to the ground, gore littered the area like obscene decorations. Entranced by the cascades of sanguine rolling from the Count, Talia stepped forward and placed her hand just below the hole in his chest. Her gaze would meet Almira's wantonly, transfixed.
When the Count officially ceased living, his minions fell. So too were they gored until they were no more. Soon all that was left were the three of them and the horde of undead created by Lucien. Talia stared down at the body of the vampire who had lured them here to see them fall. Such a twist this turned out to be, surely one he did not suspect. "Even though this vile man thought he would steal away our souls, I must thank him." Her breathing was slightly erratic, half attributed to the loss of blood and the other half to the sheer exhilaration this battle had provided her with. Talia's eyes flickered to Lucien. A short nod of her head was given, a gesture not to be taken lightly for the elf was a proud creature and rarely showed gratitude to anyone. "Count Ravenovia, as he once was, at least achieved in the gathering of the three of us. I believe thsi was predestined. There is a reason why we all chose to attend, and a reason we survived." Had these two not been present on this night, Talia doubted she would have bested the vampire on her own. If the wound upon her neck had any significance it was a reminder of her own mortality. As it was, she was weak. A budding necromancer looking for answers in a world ready to kill her. Talia needed strength, and she needed allies.
