Character name: Amu Hinamori Journal name: Amu_Chan Appearance/age: Amu looks about 13 or 14 with pink hair and gold eyes. She is usually dressed, and usually stands, in a way that makes her look a bit like a punk. She almost always has a hair clip or two - usually shaped like an X. Her school uniform, when she wears it, has a loosened tie, a red arm band on one side, a black and red pad hip pouch with black lace, trim and a number of charms, and she refuses to wear the guardian cape. She is almost always wearing the belt pouch, and almost always wears a decorative lock on a chain around her neck. When one of her Charas (Invisible to most people) takes over her mouth and body for a time, the charm in her hair changes, but the change is only visible to those who can see the charas themselves.... History:
Amu-chan's family moved and as the new girl in school, she panicked and didn't know what to say, which apparently came across as too cool to actually introduce herself. She found herself put on a pedestal that she didn't want, which isolated her from her classmates.
Given her personality... She had trouble saying what she meant, and her freezing and freaking out kept isolating her further. She had a major crush on the King's chair Tadase, but when he tried to talk to her, she shoved his hand away and told him not to touch her. Which she regretted, of course.
He had wanted to talk to her, because he could sense what had changed that morning... after a night of wishing for help to be who she really wanted to be, three eggs appeared in her bed with the rise of the sun. One by one they hatched, proving to be Shugo Charas (Guardian Characters), each representing a different "who she wants to be". Having one Chara made her eligible to join the student council. Having three made her the Joker, with a special mission. Suddenly she had friends. She had a place. It took her a long time to feel comfortable there, and changes - like when Kukai graduated, when Nadeshiko left, when Kairi and Rima joined - made her very nervous for a while, but before long she was firmly part of the Royal Guardians, and came to love her friends.
She had an odd relationship with Utau and Ikuto that in one case ran cold, colder, coldest, then warmed back to chilly. With Ikuto it was hot and cold depending on the day and his mood. But before long whenever she thought about guys, his face (and eventually Kairi's) josind Tadase's in her mind.
After a while, a fourth egg was born, but instead of hatching for her... it gained an X and went to Utau. This was when colder went to coldest. Utau's angel Chara came to Amu and all but took her over. Once Utau and Amu both recognized the radiance within themselves, Dia healed and went back to Amu with the implication that she had planned the whole thing to bring out Amu's confidence, and the angel Chara returned to Utau who then quit Easter, and went down to Chilly with Amu.
Dia spends most of her time in her egg....
and personality:
Cool and spicy. But that's not who she wants to be. She comes off as aloof for a long while, but with the help of her Charas, she begins to explore who she is, and who she can be. She gains confidence in herself, and finds in the hearts of those who have Batsu-charas pain like her own, and in healing them, takes steps towards healing herself and growing up.

Powers:
Amu has, depending on pull point either two or three charas, and the abilities they give her shifts with canon point as well, so this will be more general than specifically accurate.
Also, she has the Humpty Lock, it has a power of its own - it allows Chara Bearers who have bonded with their charas strongly enough to Character Transform, which is a full magical boy/magical girl transformation. In all of her transformations, she can purify Batsu Charas and Batsu Tamas.
With Ran:
Chara-nari - she becomes FAR more athletic and outspoken. Cheerful and charismatic.
Character Transformation - Amulet Heart. Powers vary, but mostly are cheerleading or sports themed. She can fly, or inline skate on the air. Hop. Step. Jump.
With Miki:
Chara-nari - She becomes far more artistic, though more prone to crush reactions.
Character Transformation - Amulet Spade. Powers are mostly art themed, main weapon is a giant paint brush. Drew. Draw. Drawn.
With Su:
Chara-nari - She becomes far more...domestic. Cooking and mending? Leave it to you know Su!
Character Transformation - Amulet Clover - her main power seems to be looking ridiculous. No, actually her powers are cooking based, generally, or repair based. Very strong, but her control is.... iffy. Chip. Syrup. Whip.
With Dia:
Limited information. Transformation is Amulet Diamond.
With Eru:
Chara-nari - pretty much non-existant.
Character Transformation - Amulet Angel. Super power? Waving a white flag and giving up... Thanks, Eru.
Other transformations are post pull point, and not currently included in this post.
Permissions:
The charas can only be seen and heard by (altered for games) the following kinds of people:
Kids under four.
Animals.
People who have or had their own Chara or Charas.
People from Easter.
People with a strong affinity for magic and/or souls
However, what they do has consequences. If a Chara knocks a vase off a table, anyone can see it move, can see and hear it fall....
