Despite his theatrics and airs of grandeur Eliot wasn't much of a fighter. He liked to talk himself up to be one though and hoped that no one called him on it. Minus that little tid bit he was every bit of a gentleman as one could be. He had a fine number of noble deeds he had done and mesmerizing tails to tell but he had no boasts of fighting a great beast or saving a damsel from a terrible monster. Luckily he had never actually come into such a situation like that yet or else he'd have to show his skills for what they were, lacking. He didn't doubt he wouldn't try to help whoever it was that needed it but he'd likely make a great fool of himself in the process and that was something he didn't want.
Tossing his long braided mane over the side of his left shoulder he turned his cerulean gaze upon the distant horizon. It would be a week or so more of travel before he hit the mountain pass and he wondered if he could find someone to teach him a thing or two before he got there. He had heard there were great dangers lurking in the mountains, which was one of the reasons he was heading there. However he had not the means to deal with them if he were to run into any. The thought frightened him a little, but he didn't let it show. He would deal with it when it came to be, but as for now there was little use in worrying his head about any of it.
Flicking his ears a little bit to remove an annoying fly that kept fluttering around he picked up his pace and made his way towards a slightly wooded patch of land not too far away. It wouldn't take him long to get there and he had a hankering for a good rest and perhaps some tender roots to satisfy the hunger that was starting to grow in the pit of his stomach. Golden hooves fell upon the soft earth as he pranced forward, his spirits high and his mood just as good. While he was a little thinner than he had been when he had first started out on his journey he wasn't unhealthy. He had just worked off the little weight he had gained from laying around and eating nothing but sweet grass and tender leaves.
As he finally came upon the alcove he slowed his pace and listened carefully as his eyes wandered. While coming across a fellow traveler was common it didn't mean all of them were welcoming to a stranger. Hearing nothing alarming he continued on, looking for a spot with water and a nice spot to rest at.

Happening upon Chosovi so abruptly after such a long time had left the dark stallion in a state of shock. He had finally resigned himself to the idea of never seeing the mare he loved again and then, out of nowhere, there she was. The world had slowed around him and all at once he had felt both incandescently happen and enraged. Things only became more confusing when he was told he was a father. His mind was still abuzz with the conversation that had taken place only a short while ago as he wandered distractedly in search of a watering hole. His appearance still left much to be desired as he was a far cry from the strong, regal stallion he had been but a short time ago, but more so he craved the cool water in order to clear his head.
Scars broke through his black coat, telling stories of battles he had fought and survived but no scar was deeper than the one that lay across his heart. He loved Chosovi and he would stay with her until his death, but he was still reeling from the pain of her sudden and mysterious departure. Skinwalkers, Kalona, bears, predators of every kind and he had nearly been felled by a glorious white mare. His she wolf. Had he more energy he likely would have laughed at the notion, but for now he just wanted to clean himself up and drink.
He left a trail of lines in the dirt from his dragging hooves as he marched onward. He tried to focus on other things such as his siblings, his father, or his mother but he kept finding himself thinking about Chosovi in one form or another. Finally his memory decided to settle on an instance in which the two of them had taken on a Skinwalker that had nearly gutted them both. Instead of fixating on Chosovi he instead attempted to recount only the battle. The scuffling, the yowls of pain and the scent of fresh blood newly subjected to the air. He recalled the bloodlust hot in the monster’s eyes as it dove for his throat. Though to some it may have been a horrifying experience, to him it had been exhilarating. He paused mid step and his head sank a little. It had been exhilarating in the sense that he would receive glory from killing the creature, but it was horrifying because Chosovi had been wounded.
For such a long time he cared nothing for the lives or wellbeing of others, but in that moment with Chosovi he had cared more about her than the kill. His brow wrinkled as he pinpointed the change in his personality and he continued walking. How different he was now than before.
Shaking out his clumped mane he finally saw a flash up ahead which told him water was not far. Bringing himself to a trot he zeroed in on it until he was finally at the bank of a small pond. He was just about to lower his head for a drink when the sound of grass rustling up ahead caught his attention. His ears pricked and he stood tall and proud despite his appearance, prepared for whatever enemy he would have to face. Perhaps it would prove a worthy distraction.

As he ventured further inland he looked around with ice colored eyes and flicking his tail behind him as he spotted a rather comfortable looking spot of moss and grass. However, the sound of another somewhere nearby caused all thoughts of rest to go away and replaced them with curiosity. He always liked a good story now and again and perhaps whoever was here would be able to tell him something of their own travels.
Gathering his bearings he walked onward, gaze darting back and forth as he looked for the owner of the sounds. Coming around a particularly leafy patch of bushes he spotted the dark, winged, male not too far away and cocked his head to the side for a moment as he looked him over. He didn't seem too dangerous but one could never tell. "Hello there." He called out to him, hoping he wasn't catching him off guard. "Would you care if I join you?" It had been a while since he had been able to converse with someone and he was hoping the male didn't decline. If he did, he would understand. Sometimes others liked to spend time by themselves.
As he waited for the other male to answer him he wondered about a few things. He had rather left suddenly and he wondered how the mare he had met was doing. He had wanted to tell her he was leaving but everything had happened so sudden and he hadn't been able to find her in time, so he just left. He was sure she was likely very cross with him but this was just something he had to do! He hoped she understood whenever he came back. If he could find her anyway. She could fly so she could be just about anywhere. Frowning internally he returned his attention to the stallion before him. He supposed he could at least introduce himself since he might be spending some potential time with him.
"I do hope that I am not interrupting you at all. My name is Eliot James Charming, but most just call me Eli for short." He said with a nod of his head and a small smile, hoping to at least break the ice a little better than his initial greeting. Looking around for a moment he picked at a few blades of grass and ate them happily. He'd have to remember to find a good meal to eat later but it wasn't anything he needed to worry about right now. Tossing his head slightly to remove some stray hairs from his face he couldn't help but admire the stallions wings. While he had seen wind soquili before, this males wings were quite fluffy looking.

His coiled muscles relaxed ever so slightly as the brightly hued stallion made himself visible, but he was not yet fully prepared to accept that there was no danger and so remained quite alert. He looked the other male up and down for a moment until he found himself being spoken to, at this he moved his gaze to meet that of the stranger’s.
For some strange reason he found himself a bit thrown by the stallion’s pleasantries, but returned them in due course as any civilized individual would. “Hello.” He looked at the stream at his hooves and then back up at the other. “Water is for everyone,” he replied a little foggily, “I have no claim over it and as such you are quite welcome to do as you please.” His tone was not gruff but it wasn’t exactly honeyed either.
Feeling slightly more at ease in the moment he lowered his head to resume his drinking, but his colorless eyes remained affixed upon the other. If there was one thing he had learned in his travels it was that one could never judge the intentions of another simply by gauging their appearances. Even so, this male seemed harmless enough. There was even something relatively familiar about him Gareth noted as he continued to observe his new companion. Something youthful and precocious that called him back to an earlier time in his life. The thought brought an almost invisible grin to his maw as he continued to drink of the cool water.
His head came up as the other began to speak once again and Gareth began to feel as though Eli had not just come to get water. “Eli,” he repeated politely, “I am called Gareth.” After the mouthful of a title Eli had spouted he felt momentarily as though his name were lacking something. Rolling his shoulders to adjust his breast plate as well as loosen himself up he shook his head. “No interruptions here, just a weary traveler getting cleaned up and enjoying a refreshment.” His tone became more welcoming and he suddenly realized that it had been some time since he had last spoken with someone like this. The conversation was serving as a nice distraction from the troubles that had clouded his mind for what felt like ages. It was as though a weight began to lift from his chest, even though all they had done so far was exchange small talk and pleasantries.
AstoriaFallen Good grief, thank you for your patience! I promise not to make you wait this long again!

At least he seemed friendly enough when he said hello, on top of his next few words. His manner's didn't exactly bother him in the least, he knew not everyone had the same type of pleasantries or manners. His adventures alone had showed him that. Regardless he gave a nod of his head, "Thank you." With that he approached the pool and drank from it happily. He could feel himself almost become renewed with energy now that he was no longer thirsty and he returned his blue gaze towards the winged stallion. "It's nice to make your acquaintance Gareth." He gave him a small smile and noted the armor the stallion adorn. It fascinated him. "Are you a type of knight or guardian?" He asked curiously motioning towards his attire.
