Bliss nibbled on the end of his thumb, eyes cast downward as he stood awkwardly on the edge of the playroom. It was weird without his brother Affinity, but he was optimistic he could hold out until the Naiad joined them again. With a bit of a dramatic sigh, Bliss shuffled from side to side. His ears wiggled, tail flipping behind him.
"Uhm," he murmured, slowly moving to sit on the ground, finned tail pulled up into his lap in order to avoid pinning it beneath him. People watching always gave him a little bit of anxiety since all the other Freshlings always seemed so high strung, and the potential for their crazy antics to involve him concerned Bliss greatly. Licking his lips, he traced his fingers over his scales. Maybe he could ask a caretaker to take him to a pool? He didn't particularly need it right now, but he wasn't very interested in interacting with anyone but Affinity for the time being.

(Unless there is info that directly conflicts with who my character is I always roll with what happens and try to let my characters respond as naturally as they can, strange things happen sometimes giggles)  Meila didn't really want to be in the playroom either, she sighed and grumbled. She was uncomfortable being here with all these other freshlings, wasn't it enough that she lived with roommates?? Why did the caretakers have to make her socialize with others? Meila didn't even always like her twins but they were family so she was required to like them or at least try to. Mei really would rather be sitting in her room drinking a cup of tea and studying the leaves. Mei looked up and saw a caretaker that didn't look like the others, they were see through. Meila frowned and then heard them speak "You should go play with the others, young lady." Meila rolled her eyes and said "I don't want to." softly. She crossed her arms wiggling her naga tail, she didn't really consider that this caretaker was a ghost, it didn't really cross her mind that she looked weird talking to someone others couldn't see.

Bliss had gone back to minding his own business when a voice crossed his thoughts, soft eyes widening the slightest. The caretakers were mostly occupied, letting the kids freely interact while they got a few minute breather, and the Naga was all out there on her lonesome. Bliss tilted his head, licking his ever dry lips.
Carefully he approached, intrigued just enough to forget about his missing twin. "Do you not want to... stand?" the Naiad asked curiously, not quite sure what task Meila was even trying to complete. What possibly was she doing? "... and can I help?" he added for good measure, long frizzy locks bobbing about his face as he continued to pour out concern.

Meila frowned "What do you mean??" she asked in a grumpy tone "How could you help me??" Meila sighed realizing she was being rude. "I'm sorry, I'm Meila.. I came here when the shifting sands came down with my siblings.. I suppose I'm still not really great playing with others.." Meila sighed and curled up in a little ball. She sometimes didn't even like her own siblings. She hadn't found anyone yet that she really clicked with. Anyone who made her feel like they understood who she was and how she felt about things, maybe Meila was too weird for playing with normal freshlings.

Bliss immediately let his lips part the slightest, a slightly horrified expression passing over him. That's why he was asking, wasn't it? He wasn't sure how the Naga needed help either. With a frown, he patted down the front of his sweater nervously. "Melia?" he echoed. The name was a little different but not in the bad way. "I'm Bliss. My twin that looks like me is Affinity, but he's not here right now."
Trying not to be too disgruntled, Bliss looked from the Naga to his own hand and then back to her. Their patterns were very similar. "I'm a Daydream," he agreed, the words she used completely unfamiliar. He could tell her race, but much of the lore behind the races was beyond his years yet. "We look a little alike," he encouraged. Bliss didn't remember anything of the Daydreams though or Above so he was pretty sure him and his twin were awakened Below. He didn't think they were related but their similarities in their patterns sure were nice.

Meila took a deep breath, and said "Yes I'm Meila.." Then she turned and looked at Bliss "Nice to meet you, Bliss, I have two other siblings Libra and Esti, I don't see them much.." Meila said softly "Do you like your twin??" Meila asked curiously. Meila noticed then they both were pink and both had heart markings. Though she didn't really know much of anything about what race Bliss was. "I'm a Nightmare, I don't know much about daydreams, or most of the other races for that matter. I'm a naga, my kind lived close by to many nekos." Meila nodded and said "Yes I suppose we do look similar."

Why would she not see her siblings much? He was rather close to his own. "I love Fin," the pastel Naiad confirmed quickly, moving to squat. With idle hands, he touched the dry skin of his tail fin, looking a little worried. "I think it's silly not to like your family." Maybe it was a little naive of him, but Bliss thought what he thought.
Lifting his mismatched eyes, his long ears wiggled the slightest. "I know what those are," Bliss assured, having been aquainted with many of the races (and hybrids in his classes). He wasn't upset she didn't know he was a Kirin though, and Bliss ran a hand through his frizzled out hair as he stood once more. "I'm a Naiad. I guess we're the Above Nixie. Sort of. We're only similar in we have scales, fins, and like to keep wet." Blinking slowly, he looked around for a caretaker, still eager for that spray bottle. "Anything for a Nixie is usually okay for us, that's what they said."

Meila nodded "Yes I love my siblings, and would go to them as fast as I could if they needed my help, but sometimes they drive me crazy. Don't you ever get annoyed by Fin??" Meila frowned, maybe Meila thought too grown up for her own good. Meila frowned and asked. "Are you ok??" Meila had seen other races in her classes, she just hadn't really thought much about asking what there race was or what they were like. Perhaps it was silly and closed minded of Meila, which was silly when she thought about it since her mind was open to divination. She should likely also be open to learning more about others. Problem being Meila didn't really like a lot of others. "Do you want to go swimming??" She asked softly, looking around for a caretaker to ask for a bathing suit.

Bliss contemplated this long and hard, eyes wide as the gears worked in his brain. "No, but sometimes others annoy Fin," the Naiad decided, obviously holding his relationship with his twin above all. Really, they were practically sutured together at the hip. It was very strange Affinity wasn't with him right now to begin with.
"I'm dry," the Daydream informed a bit blandly, sighing a little. It was not do or die, but it was a little annoying. Glancing back up at Meila, her suggestion did make him smile the slightest. "I love swimming," Bliss practically hummed, running his hand over his cheek where his dry skin was getting a bit pokey. "I need to stay wet during the day otherwise I get really itchy." His eyes flicked down to her elongated body. "Do you swim like a Sealpup?" the boy asked innocently.

Meila sighed she didn't think that Bliss would understand her feelings, maybe his brother Fin would have, maybe not, it didn't matter much at this point. Perhaps Meila would never find anyone she really connected to, maybe there was a ghost that she could connect with, who knew. Meila wasn't going to tell Bliss that she could see ghosts it would likely just make him cry. Meila shook her head and said "No I don't think so.." Meila had never watched a sealpup swim before so she wasn't sure how they swam compared to how she swam. Meila turned again to look for a caretaker, maybe she would swim away from Bliss and just sit alone, Meila sighed again. Closing herself off from others likely wasn't the best thing but she just didn't know how to connect with most people. (Do you want to close here or keep going?)

Oh. That was slightly disappointing because Bliss couldn't think how else the Naga would swim with a tail like that. His was separate from his legs so he could kick about and propel himself at the same time. The Naiad grew quiet, watching as Meila quickly tried to detach herself from the situation. Reading her reluctance, he shook his head, messy hair flying everywhere.
"I'll ask a caretaker for a spray bottle," Bliss assured, not wanting this similarly-patterned Freshling to feel out of place. He had tried to be nice to her, but oh well. Not everyone wanted to be his friend. Taking a step closer, he smacked his tail once against the ground, giving her a timid wave before scampering off hurriedly to the closest caretaker. "B-bye," Bliss offered from a distance. He didn't know what else to do other than to stand around awkwardly.

Meila sighed and said "Bye" softly then headed off to sit alone again, it didn't really matter anyway. Meila wished she knew how to connect, but this had been a normal problem for her and it seemed it wouldn't be fixed magically. (No big, some characters just have a process or are flawed xd not sure why Meila is this flawed but that's how she came out xd )
