The water colored female spent her time in the trees, getting used to moving this way again after so long on the ground with Gebhuza. It felt good to once more be in a place that she felt at home in. On top of that, being in a pride run by her daughter felt so good. She was proud of Najwa’s accomplishments. Although she felt like she should recognize the small serval she traveled with. What a bad mother she was if she couldn’t remember. She pushed the thoughts from her head when she felt the presence of another nearing her. Much of the pride would be awake during the night hours and it had just fallen upon them. Her golden orbs watched as a darkness came closer and closer to her before stopping.

“Leih?” She asked the darkness just a few tree limbs away. The red eyes were familiar and she was quite sure it was her daughter coming to say hello. Maybe even trying to get the drop on her. The female had been prancing around the trees as well.

The red eyed female came closer to her and then grinned. “Mother.” She wasn’t trying to stalk her mother up in the trees only catch up. She should have been able to keep up but surprisingly her mother had kept a few paces in front of her. When she had stopped Leih’Lana had time to catch up.

“You are so quick on your free for not spending time in the tree anymore.” She stated as she hopped onto the branch next to the blue leopardess.

Kaveri chuckled at her daughter and nuzzled her gently. “Once I got back into the trees it was like returning home. As much as I love your father, I feel so much freer up in the trees where I belong. Your father cannot follow me up here so I stayed by his side, but I am happy your sister has made a pride in a place of trees. A place for us both, ground and air.” She said. “What brings you out here?” The female asked of her daughter.

Leih who let her mother nuzzle her felt a sense of euphoria. How she missed her mother and the things she had done for them. Of course her father had taught her things too, such as stealth and how to hide among shadows. Her mother had helped teach too but she had learned much of her skill from her father.

“Are you and father going to have cubs again?” She asked. Part of her hoped for such things. To help raise the cubs since she would not be able to have any of her own.

The female thought about this for a moment, she wanted cubs and they were now in the safety of a pride that could protect them. It would be a good time to have them now all she needed to do was convince Uzi of the want and need to have cubs again. Yes she had her cubs here, the three of the five but she wanted more. More tiny bodies to take care of and rear.

Giving a toothy grin to her daughter she nodded, “If I can convince your father I am sure we can have some cubs again. They will be a joy to have around and your siblings can help rear them with me.” She was sure it wouldn’t be too hard to tell Uzi that she wanted them. The seed was already put into his mind anyway.

“What about you Leih? Are you going to try to find a mate?” Knowing that he daughter could not have cubs of her own was something that pained her a little but she could still get a mate that would love her for who she was. As long as her daughter was happy, Kaveri would be happy. Seeing the contemplation in her daughter's eyes made her think that the young one had not thought of this before.

Clearing her throat the dark colored female shook her head a little as if to clear her thoughts. “Eventually I will mother. I have not really thought about that. Being alone isn’t bad and especially now we have a pride. There are many to look after us.” She felt like her mother’s gaze was boring into her as she lay there on the branch. “Mother you are making me uncomfortable with such questions. Come let us run among the trees. I think after this rest I can beat you now.”

A hearty laugh came from her maw as she looked at her child. “You think you can beat me? Child, I may be old but I know the trees better than you. But yes, let us see which of us wins this race. I will race you to the edge of the forest.” She began to get herself ready to leap from limb to limb, watching her daughter do the same before the both of them took off.

Their laughter could be heard scaring up critters abound as the pair, daughter and mother, races through the treetops towards the edge of the forest they were in. They weren’t to far in but it would be enough for both of them to feel tired by the time they were to reach their end location. What a good way to spend some time with her daughter Kaveri though as she started to pull ahead of the dark leopon. Though she looked more like her father, she had much of her mother’s spirit in her. Was her daughter pulling back or was she having a bit of trouble in the trees. It was picking right back up for the blue leopardess, as she raced about.

Coming closer to their location she could tell that Leih was having a tougher time catching up. Maybe it was that lion side of her. She didn’t stop thought as she got to the edge and carefully made her way down the tree to the bottom where she stood proudly. A old leopardess like herself had managed to beat her spry cub to the finish was a big accomplishment.

“Alright mother, you won.” The female chuckled as she came up shortly behind her, panting heavily. “Seems I need to work at my tree jumping a bit more. Quite winded.”

Pulling her daughter into a hug, she began to clean her a little. “Practice makes perfect. That is what your father said. Come, let us head back, we’ll take the ground path back in unless you want another go at the trees.”

“Trees.” Responded the young female as she bounded back up with vigor.

A chuckled from the elder female, “Trees it is.”
