 Rising Sign nudged open the shutters that kept the daylight out of her home. The sun was setting and finally - finally! - she could get some fresh air in this building. Even for a filly she was always very busy with grown up things like cleaning or organizing her house. She didn't go out much when the sun was out, if only because she spent most of her time star gazing at night and was too tired to be up and about in the daylight. After opening up all the windows, Rising Sign decided it would be a good day to do some gardening. She had seen a few other Phonies rooting around in the dirt and, while the thought of getting that grubby didn't really appeal to her, she did like the result of all that hard work. Flowers and vegetables and all sorts of things! It was nice when hard work paid off in the end and there was physical proof of one's effort. She left her home and headed out to the edge of the road where Phonies would pass buy, a few simple gardening tools in a wagon that she tugged along. It was a little tough since the wagon was meant for a full grown Earth Phony, but she managed. Finally she found a spot to try to start to dig, but after all that effort she needed a break first. Flopping down on the pathway that led up to her little home, she watched the other colorful Phonies passing by as she caught her breath.

 Eeeeee it had been such a great day so far and the spunky yellow filly was sure it could't possibly get any better than this. She had spent a good amount of the morning wandering the shops, peering excitedly into the windows and oogling all there was to offer. However, the little earth filly spent most of her time in one shop in particular. A sewing shop designed around DYI crafts and creations for artistically inclined ponies to find everything they needed, or in her case, to learn. She spent a good chunk of what she had on two sewing kits that came with everything you needed to make your own stuffed animal. One horse and one kitty cat. As soon as she purchased them she had already whipped open the case and started to work on the horse, following each instruction step by step! It had taken most the afternoon but she finally had something to show for it. Hugging it to herself, she admired her craftsmanship. It wasn't perfect but it was hers! With he other kit nestled safety in her saddle bags and the little brown horse plush riding passenger on her back, Cotton decided it was finally time to head back home. "Heeee. I can't wait to start on the kitty tomorrow!" she cooed to herself as she trotted along, a spring in her step and a soft hum in her throat. And then she spotted someone on the pathway panting. Blinking, Cotton Fluff strayed from her path and pranced over to the other. "Ohmygosh are you ok?! What happened?!" she gasped, thinking the other had taken a tumble or something and might be hurt.

Rising Sign had almost caught her breath when she nearly lost it again - a yellow phony had come prancing over to her rather quickly and had startled her. Her ears flattened against her head and her blue eyes went wide as the other filly gasped. Looking around to make sure she was the one being addressed, Rising Sign slowly looked back at the brightly colored phony. "Yes?" she said a bit hesitantly. "Nothing happened." It didn't occur to her until that very moment that it might look a bit precarious - a large cart to one side, a small Phony sprawled out on the ground...to someone who hadn't seen her come and settle down comfortably she supposed it could look like a bit of an accident. "I was just resting. That cart was heavy to pull all the way over here," she said, giving a bit of an explanation as she nodded to the cart full of gardening supplies and plants waiting to be put in the ground.

Cotton's eyes went wide as the other spoke, explaining her situation. And then she giggled, bringing a hoof to her mouth. "Oh I'm glad that's all! I was worried for a second!" she smiled, nodding enthusiastically. If the other was ok, then there was no harm here! Well... except that did look like a heavy cart. "Hey! Do you need any help?" Cotton beamed, adjusting her saddle bags to one side. She didn't have anywhere pressing to be, if the other filly needed, she would totally let a hoof and help. "Oh, names Cotton Fluff by the way. Nice to meet you!" the yellow filly filly smiled brighter, extending a hoof towards the other in greeting. As she did so, she felt the soft thump of the plush falling and hitting the back of her head. Laughing, she reached around and grabbed it to gently place it in the top of one of her bags, its head poking out lazily.

Glancing at the cart, Rising Sign debated if she needed help. She was just about where the place to dig was and the cart wasn't too far from the patch of dirt on the side of the road. She got to her hooves as the other phony introduced herself. "Rising Sign," she said in return. "And thanks, but no thanks. It's fine where it is." The movement on Cotton Fluff's back made her hesitate in bumping her hoof against the yellow filly's, blue eyes wide when she was what it was. It was a tiny little plush phony, brown like her, and it was adorable if a bit crudely made. "Ah...cute plush," she said as she realized she was staring. "Where did you get it?"

"Nice to meet ya!" she nodded. Cotton then tilted her head and blinked at the other's statement. "Oh!" she said at first, then smiled. Well if the filly was where she needed to be, then help would be silly! "Aaahh!" she cooed as the other noticed the plush and quickly retrieved it in full sight. "I made it!" she beamed proudly, puffing up her chest and holding it so the other could see. It really wasn't perfect by any means, but Cotton was proud. Infinitely proud of her creation. "I bought a kit from the store that teaches you how, even gives you everything you need!" she exclaimed excitedly, for those few brief moments, having forgotten about everything else prior.

"You made it?" Rising Sign asked, looking at the plush closer. It wasn't perfect by any means, but for a filly to have made it, it was pretty impressive. Even if there was a kit to help. "That's pretty cool," she said, trying not to appear too interested in it, even though it was really cute. "I like working with my hooves, too," she said, nodding to the garden. She didn't think she'd be getting a cutie mark in gardening, but it was still fun to do. Fea Line She's so big and fluffyyyyyy

Cotton giggled, hugging the plush close as the other admitted it was rather cool, even if it was one of her very first attempts. "I just loooove plushies! And anything soft and huggable! Hugs just make everything feel better!" she grinned, finally releasing the little plush from her hug grip. Though, the yellow filly wasn't all oblivious. "Ya know... it does kinda look like you." she grinned, holding it out again to compare the two side by side. SilverLutz /still sobbing happily sdjsjg

Now that she had to disagree with. Hugs really weren't her thing. She didn't voice it, though, not wanting to disrupt the obvious good mood the other Phony was in. When the observation was made, however, a faint blush stained Rising Sign's cheeks. "Just because it's brown," she said with a little shrug. "I'm not that lumpy." Quick, mildly insulting comment to hopefully distract Cotton from her embarrassing flush!

Cotton blinked, a bit taken aback by the comment. She turned the plush back around to look at it then back at the other filly. Ok yeah, it was lumpy in places where she had packed too much cotton into one bit.... but that really wasn't why she thought so. "Well.... not exactly what I meant...." she half laughed, rubbing the back of her head with a hoof. "Its still only my first blush but I mean....Brown yes, sorta same mane color. Adorable. If it had blue buttons for eyes...." she trailed off, grinning cheesily, trying to keep the mood light and happy.

Good, her blunt and mildly rude comment had tossed the other Phony off her game enough to not notice the mildly flustered state Rising Sign was in. It allowed her enough time to regroup her mental state so when Cotton pressed on, trying to lighten the mood a bit, she was more receptive. "I guess," she said simply although her initial attraction to the plush was starting to show through again. Even though it was lumpy it was oddly charming. "I like it better with the black buttons," she said after a moment. "I think it's a good try for your first one. Even if it is lumpy." It meant it was stuffed with lots of fluff, after all. Great for cuddling.

As the other filly seemed to come around, Cotton's grin spread farther across her face. It was almost as if the slightest bit of happiness was infectious to her and she couldn't help but return it ten fold. "Good then its settled!" she beamed, holding the plush out towards the other filly. "She's all yours then!" she giggled, almost dancing in place. Her very first attempt at creating a plushie, even if lumpy yet stuffed with love was now going to be her very first gift!! If the other filly accepted.... though Cotton had already made up her mind not to let the other reject.

Rising Sign glanced away from the plushie as Cotton Fluff suddenly went back to her happy, bouncy self, and felt her eyes widen comically as the little toy was offered to her. "What? No, I can't take it. It's your first one!" she said, trying not to look too surprised although the size of her eyes had probably stopped any chance of that happening. "You should...I don't know...keep it for yourself so you can see how you improve as you keep practicing." That seemed reasonable, even if the lumpy, adorable plushie would be really nice to cuddle with at night.

"NO no no I insist!" Cotton said, stepping forward to almost shove the plushi into the other's hooves. "I wont ever forget her so I'll know! Besides, being able to make someone smile is just as rewarding as making a good plush!" the yellow filly nodded wholeheartedly, her eyes now big round pleading orbs as she peered at the brown filly almost unblinkingly.

Rising Sign found herself lifting her hooves to take the plushie as it was very nearly shoved at her, her rump plopping down on the ground so she wouldn't topple over. Blue eyes gazed down into little black button eyes and the slightly crooked smile stitched onto the muzzle made a tiny grin form on her own in return. It really was cute in a very strange way. "...thanks," she finally said, her voice quiet but genuinely happy. Here Cotton was, a complete stranger, giving away her very first creation! Rising Sign had never really experienced kindness like this before and it certainly would leave a mark on her from here on out. "I don't...um...make things," she said, feeling like she needed to return the favor. "But if you ever want your horoscope read or anything like that, just find me and I'll try my best." She was still learning all about the stars and their signs after all. She had some work to do before she could give a really good reading! Fea Line I think one more from both of us can wrap this up!
