Shiranai wandered idly through the faster, absent-mindedly weaving in between the trees. Streaks of sunlight shown through the thick, green canopy overhead, illuminating bits and pieces of the foliage covered ground. She had wandered herself away from the rest of the herd a few days ago, not having a particular place in mind but feeling the need to get away. She had spent much of the winter up in the mountains with the rest of the herd, her mother and brother included, and she needed some time away. She always got uncomfortable when she was around large crowds for so long even when she interacted with almost solely her mother and brother. She had wandered off soon after much of the snow melted from the steep, narrow path that led down the mountain, heedless of her brother's overprotective warnings.
She had spent much of the last few days simply walking, having chosen a direction that was vaguely south. She would find her way back eventually as she always did, but the small wanderlust part of her simply enjoyed seeing the changing scenery. The soft crunching of leaves beneath her hooves calmed her, and she could hear the birds overhead chirp back and forth. She swayed a little in time with their song and continued onward.

Aiyana was resting in the meadow that had become the home of herself and her mate. This was the place they had met, so it was only natural that it would become the central location of the herd they were building. Star Blayze and Kagehoshi were out doing things, leaving her to take a nap while they were gone. She was pretty sure neither of them had been crazy to leave her side, but she had assured them she would be alright. After all, it wasn't like many people knew about this place and they weren't far. Also, even though she was pregnant, she could still defend herself, if it became needed. That and Yamka could get to them, if trouble became too much for her.
She pink haired mare was just closing her eyes, when she thought she heard some kind of crunching noise. Her eyes opened and she became alert, her ears swiveling forwards, to see if she could decipher what had made the noise. She wondered if it was one of the boys back yet, she figured that was definitely a possibility. Aiyana gave a small whistle, which would sound like a bird, when Yamka came out of her own resting place. The mare tilted her head to the direction she heard the noise, before Yamka nodded, going to see what was heard.

Shiranai stopped, tilting her head to the side with a inquisitive look in her eyes. She had heard the soft trill of a foreign bird, lower in pitch than the songs she had been listening to all day and it made her mildly curious. She waited for a few seconds, listening to see if the sound would be repeated, before letting out a small sigh in dismay when she heard nothing else. She had just prepared herself to continue walking, when the soft flapping of wings caught her attention.
She debated for a second on whether to walk to or away from the sound. She was enjoying being on her own, but...well, she did need to spend time with people she wasn't related to. Probably. However, she could only imagine Silhouette's indignation at her talking to a stranger, and his overprotective ways, while seemingly overboard, had never steered her wrong before. She had just made up her mind to turn away, when she caught sight of the small creature, white with speckles of light blue and very much not a bird.

Aiyana gave another bird call to her bat friend, the message clearly telling her to be careful. The pair of friends had come up with their own code based on sounds of nature, Aiyana using birds and Yamka using bat squeaks. Of course the bat could speak with any Soquili normally, but they figured it was best to do this when they didn't want to alert anyone of their presences. The mare heard a series of squeaks back, indicating the 'intruder' was a mare. Hmm, the female wondered if this other mare might be lost. Well, only one way to find out, so she took a deep breath before beginning to speak.
"Hello, lost one. You are more than welcome to come closer, if you so chose. I do not mean you any harm, as long as you do not as well. Do not mind my bat friend, she let me know you were there,"she called out, hoping she didn't frighten the other away. Waiting patiently, Aiyana hoped the mare would not leave, but knew it was her choice.

Shiranai startled a little at the strange voice, but calmed herself at the soft, soothing tinker of what had to be a mare. The cute, little white bat hovered at the edge of the forest line as though beckoning her forward. Shiranai considered for a moment--Silhouette had always warned her to be careful of strangers, but he was also the biggest mother hen of all time. Shiranai rarely met those outside of her herd as well, so this was something of a new opportunity. Shiranai tilted her head back and forth in consideration--leave or stay? She eyed the little white bat as she thought, her eyes roving up its small body to take in the delicate markings that covered its soft fur. The voice did sound very kind...
Mind made up, she stepped forward slowly, peaking her neck through the edge of the forest opening and into what looked to be a bright and sprawling meadow. The grass was a lush green, and wildflowers were scattered intermittently throughout to add to the warm, welcoming feel. "Hello?" she called out, her voice soft and shy from disuse. She spoke so rarely, a trait her brother and her shared, that she could feel her voice crack at the end of the single word.

Aiyana waited for what seemed like forever, but the mare would wait for as long as it would take. Eventually, she saw a head peek out and heard the very soft greeting in reply. A soft smile came to the curly haired mare, it was obvious that the other one was nervous. She felt the soft landing of Yamka on her head, as the bat had decided to return to her bonded. It was obvious to Aiyana that this female meant no harm, so she was more than ready for her to come closer. She could certainly understand being shy, she was still getting used to interacting with others regularly herself. After all, she had grown up by herself, not talking to her own kind very often, unless she had to. Now, as they were starting their herd, it was something she had started to get used to. In a way, she realized it was something she had craved for a long time.
"It is beautiful here, isn't it? You can just feel a sense of peace, knowing that you are pretty safe here. Just take a whiff of the flowers, the scent is so intoxicating and inviting,"she spoke very peacefully.

Shiranai stepped forward into the meadow, her eyes sweeping over the green lush grass and the flowers, before stopping on the heavily pregnant mare. The small, white bat had landed on the mare's head, nestling itself in her ample curls and the sight lit a small smile over Shiranai's face. She had no familiar herself, but many of the herd did and she had often wandered what it would be like. However, she had never met a bat before--Orchu's clan kept solely wolves as companions.
She offered a small bow to the mare as she continued forward, keeping her gaze down out of politeness. "Thank you for letting me see your meadow," she says, keeping her head bowed out of respect. "It is very beautiful," she murmured, her voice quiet and nervous but her eyes softened at the sight, hidden beneath her bangs.

Aiyana watched as the other mare came closer, she could tell she was getting a look around. Waiting as she got closer, the pink haired mare laid their patiently, letting everything envelop the girl. When the other got to where she was, she heard her gratitude for letting her come in and agree to the beauty of the place. She noticed the girl did not look at her, but it was obvious she was respectful and she did like the meadow. Inclining her own head in her direction, she thought about what to say next to her.
"The beauty of this place is what drew myself and my mate here. We owe it for giving us each other and our home. The flowers that bloom here are just breath taking, plus there are plants that help us with medicines. May I ask what brought you in this direction?"she inquired.

Shiranai brought her head down, nosing at the soft grass and letting the pointed tips tickle her nose. When she lifted her head, she hesitantly took a peek at the mare from underneath her bangs. Her eyes strayed over the soft curls that framed kind-looking eyes before noticing the soft swell of her pregnant belly. Shiranai was undoubtedly curious--she was one of the last born of their herd. Creme was a scarce few months younger, but Creme's mother did not spend most of her days with their herd. She ducked her head back down again, though, realizing that she had been staring rudely.
"You are very lucky to have found a mate that recognizes how beautiful this place is," she offered, her voice soft and honest. Love was a very beautiful thing, and Shiranai could only hope that one day she could find a mate as well.
"I...am just wandering," she admitted, her tone tinged with just the barest hint of embarrassment. "Sometimes...you need to just see new things."

Even though the other mare was not obvious about it, Aiyana could feel her eyes momentarily on her. She smiled softly, from the words of the other, it was obvious to the pregnant mare that she did not get out much. Her soft green eyes stayed on the blue and white haired female, nodding her head softly to what she had spoken. The pink haired mare used to travel, but that had been out of necessity for her. She was actually glad to have a place to call home now, only traveling when she wanted to.
"Yes, I am glad that it drew us both in, to be honest. I can definitely understand how nice it can be to travel, I did that before finding my way here. For me, it is a nice change having a place to plant roots and grow my family. Oh and I just realized, that I did not introduce myself. My name is Aiyana, the bat on my head, her name is Yamka,"she spoke gently.

Shiranai blushed, also realizing she had not introduced herself. "It is a pleasure to meet you Aiyana. And you too, Yamka," she added, bowing her head a little politely at the bat as well. "My name is Shiranai," she introduced, her voice still soft and shy.
"I have not wandered far from my family before," Shiranai admitted tentatively, unsure of how that may be perceived. She could not even pinpoint why she had felt the need to be away so strongly this winter--her family was not particularly stifling. Her mother was as warm and affectionate but had never made her or Silhouette feel stifled. Silhouette's overprotective streak had been kicking in these recent months but he understood her solitary nature. "We live up in the mountains," she said, gesturing a little with her head at the looming mountains, still capped in snow despite the summer heat down in the valleys and forests. "It's...comfortable but a little isolated." Dea and #Teddy# Uhhhh. Sorry for the delay! <<

Aiyana gently inclined her head when the other mare introduced herself as well. Then she listened as Shiranai explain that she had not ventured this far from home before. She wondered what had made the other decide to travel further from home than usual. When the other mentioned that she lived in the mountains, her own pale green eyes looked up at the majestic peaks that towered off in the distance. Yes, that was a bit of a trek and it could get a little isolated there. She wondered if Shiranai might just be getting restless, hence her going further this time.
"I would imagine it can get a little quiet up there at times, considering not as many venture that far. It is possible that you just wanted to see more of the world, then what your mountain home has to offer. Oh and to meet others, make friends and perhaps find someone to love. Everyone has their own reasons for travel and no reason is necessarily a bad one,"she suggested.

"Perhaps," Shiranai said, surprised at her own evasive response. She was unused to sharing her thoughts and feelings with others, a trait she suspected she inherited from her father (because she definitely did not inherit it from her mother). "The herd is large and we often make trips down to the valley. In the winter time, however, the path can be quite treacherous so many of us tend to stay in all winter."
"What about you, miss? What reasons did you travel for?" she inquired gently, hoping she was not offending or overstepping any boundaries with the stranger, She took a few steps closer, closing the gap between the two mares, and hesitantly moved to lay down next to the heavily pregnant mare.

Aiyana wasn't upset when the other did not go into detail about her possible reasons for traveling. After all, not everyone felt comfortable speaking to others about personal matters. When Shiranai spoke about how her family would travel sometimes, she smiled softly. She would imagine the trips together was very nice, she would have to suggest their herd doing so sometimes. Listening as the other explained about having to stay in the mountains during winter, she nodded her head in understanding.
"Yes, I would imagine that the paths during winter in the mountains would become dangerous indeed. Now let me see, before I came here, it was because I was trying to find a place to call home. Now, it is usually to get things I may need or if I need to travel for the herd, like meeting an ally,"she replied. She didn't mind as the mare came to lay down.
