** Already acquired character through Holiday Raffle**

Oh, little Sugarplum

Name: Svetlana Diane Pedersen
Svetlana - Norwegian - shining woman
Diane - French, English - divine, heavenly
Pedersen - Norwegian, Danish - son of stone

Nickname: Lana - by almost everyone, Sugarplum - by her parents and she has yet to realize that she should probably train them to NOT call her that in front of her friends

Age: 19

Birthday: February 2

Sign: Aquarius

Gemstone: Amethyst

Blood Type: A

Fav. Food: Ligonberry jam on rye toast. Fish, any kind of fish - her dad used to tell her when she was little that she would turn into a fish at the rate she ate anything with fins.

Hated Food: Tapioca pudding - The texture of the little balls combined with the smooth pudding surround freak her. The taste doesn’t turn her on either.

School: Destiny City University, majoring in Medieval History

Hobbies:

Embroidery - Taught by her paternal grandmother since she was a wee little thing, Lana is quite the accomplished picture-stitcher. She keeps a big wicker work-basket near her bed and it is full to the brim with thread and needles and projects. Not only does she find this work beautiful but also practical and incredibly soothing. Sitting down with her hoop and thread for Lana is the equivalent of a yoga enthusiast going into Downward Dog. If she likes you, expect lots of prettily embroidered things. She especially likes flowers and swirling lines.

Cake decorating and fancy baking (especially gum-paste flowers and modeling chocolate designs) - When she was sixteen, a friend coaxed Lana into taking one of those Wilton classes at Michael’s and she has never looked back since. In fact, if she had a little more confidence and the nerve to ask, she could easily qualify as a Wilton Certified Instructor and teach cake decorating classes herself. Her patience and attention to detail is mind-boggling and her hand is unbelievably steady. Again, she gravitates towards flowers and piping designs. By the way, she likes the canvas fondant presents but hates the taste so much that she has taught herself and is willing to spend the time with traditional icing to get herself a clean “canvas” rather than using fondant.

Chess - There are many reasons Lana likes chess and they are, in no particular order, because it is a quiet game, because it requires strategy and close attention, because it always feels historical and meaningful, and because the pieces are super pretty. She wouldn’t have a chance against a Kasparov or a Big Blue but she is easily better than 70% of the people she has played against - both friends and strangers.

Penpal Extraordinaire - Lana has beautiful handwriting and finds it much easier to speak her mind through the written word. Starting through a third grade project that matched up kids in her class with penpals in Argentina, she has branched out and now has regular, detailed, and devoted correspondence going with five people - Argentina, India, England, France, and Singapore. Yes, that is still her first penpal in Argentina. She also sends regular cards and notes to family members. Close friends are likely to find a “pick-me-up” note from her tucked under their car’s windshield wiper or in a schoolbook.

Virtues:
Honest To A Fault - Lana is 100% incapable of lying. She is not just physically unable to do it (the tells on this girl are obvious) but she has trouble wrapping her mind around the concept. The thought of lying makes her deeply uncomfortable. If you want her opinion, you will get it (as gentle and sweet as she can make it) so don’t ask her a question you don’t want to know the answer to. Her heart is an open book and everything shines through in her expression. This makes it almost endearing when she tries to tell a little white lie (which is about once in a blue moon).

Eye For All Beauty - Lana thinks everyone and everything and everywhere has beauty of some sort. She uses the word as a catch-all and no one can really figure out what she thinks it means. Interesting? Aesthetically pleasing? Riveting? Classically proportioned? Who knows? But not a day goes by that Lana isn’t caught by the sight of something which pleases her to the point of shyly offering a compliment or taking a picture. Needless to say, she is great for the ego.

Mind Like A Steel Trap - The combination of a long attention span, patience, and a talent for details makes Lana a veritable encyclopedia for Many Things. She picks up information fast and, better yet, processes it well. She does not just regurgitate facts. She reframes them, links them, and correlates them. Strategy comes easily to her… If only courage to give orders did as well!

Flaws:
Wallflower Say What? - Cliche as it may be, Lana is shy. Borderline SUPER shy to the point where a gathering of more than ten people makes her visibly nervous. She can function in groups and doesn’t have any kind of pathology about such things but she really isn’t comfortable. It is too much input for her. She hangs out in corners at parties, sits at the back of class, and generally keeps her head down when moving about her fellow human beings.

The Sound of Deadlines Whooshing By - Every year for New Year’s Eve, Lana’s parents give her a day planner. She keeps a calendar by her work desk and keeps her Gmail Calendar updated so she can always access it with her phone. She leaves notes for herself everywhere as reminders… She still always seems to be a day late. Metaphorically, at least. For someone who is so detail oriented, time completely slips by her and she often has to rush to get her assignments in on time or make an appointment. Her friends have learned to deal with this and will always tell her a meeting time that is at least a half hour earlier than everyone else gets. She hates this trait of hers but has yet to figure out how to combat it fully.

Fixate Much? - When Lana really enjoys something, she enjoys it with everything in her. For someone who comes across as quiet and even a bit neutral, Lana does not operate in shades of grey when it comes to things that catch her attention. Her hobbies, her studies, the few close friends she has - they all get 100%. When a topic catches her interest, she explores it to the last gasp, hunting down every bit of information and storing it away in her head. This means, unfortunately, that she lets other things at the time slide and, when caught in a full-on fascination, things like housework and socialization and appointments get forgotten. Combine this with her already lousy sense of time and it’s amazing Lana can handle functioning in the real world some days.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

Eyes: Wide and mint green and clear. Lana usually manages to look a bit startled and/or disbelieving as if she just simply cannot fathom what she is looking at. Call it Resting What? Face. Her eyebrows are high and arching and her lashes are thick and long.

Hair: Lana wears her thick, dark hair in a fetching bob to her chin with heavy bangs. Her hair has a bit of wave to it so it bounces charmingly in the style. Her hair is such a dark purple-blue-black that it eats light and gives it back with a purple glow. She usually keeps it back with headbands and scarves but, when stressed or frustrated, her hands always move up to tangle and pull at her locks. This results in her hairstyle always being just one step away from model-perfect.

Face: Lana has a heart-shaped face, a button nose, and a wee little rosebud mouth. If this makes her sound like a Disney princess, well… There have already been speculations on this subject so you would not be the first. Her complexion is an even, soft mocha tone. She stands at an easy five foot six with a slim build and slight curves. Over all, she gives the impression of dainty and slightly fragile. She won’t blow away in a stiff wind but you wouldn’t feel safe leaving her out in bad weather.

Clothes: Feminine, unobtrusive, comfortable, and layered are all words that can be applied to Lana’s wardrobe. She prefers skirts to pants, only owning one pair of jeans, and wears tights more than pantyhose. She tends towards full coverage with her clothing and it isn’t so much a modesty thing as a combination of two facts - she gets cold easily and she doesn’t like to draw attention to herself. She loves cardigans, especially when they are handmade, and scarves. She wears very little jewelry - just a single pair of earrings and a small silver snowflake necklace that her paternal grandmother gave her when she was nine. Her make-up bag contains some lip glosses, a tube of mascara, and a couple eyeliners; that is it. She hates heels but loves ballet flats, tennis sneakers, and little ankle boots. Her favorite colors are mint, baby blue, ecru, and dusty rose. If she had a bit more nerve, she would be the cutest Fairy Kei Lolita ever.

Knight Title: Svartisen, Page of Polaris
Svartisen - The Wonder

Challenge: Sweets for the sweet, okay? Please don’t do this.

Uniform:

See the wonderful, adorable picture by the talented Verithe!

Top -- A mint green, long-sleeved dress edged at the hem and wrists with white fluff and a white yoke that rises up into a high collar ending beneath her chin. It is fitted on top and buttoned to the waist with tiny purple buttons. The skirt is full and flares out to a circle, reaching to mid-shin. Above the white trim at the bottom hem, there is a wide border in purple, silver, and two shades of blue - the repeating Polaris symbol in a circle.
Bottoms -- You cannot see them but, beneath her dress, she wears a pair of white bloomers that end a few inches above her knees.
Gloves -- Pure white kid leather and fitted perfectly and resistant to stains. Magic!
Belt -- A wide purple scarf with white pom-poms at the ends and held together at one side of her waist with a large silver pin marked with the Polaris emblem. A purple string runs from the fastening down and diagonally across her other hip, dangling blue and teal crystals and beads.
Shoes -- White button-up spats that go to her knees but are actually put underneath and inside her purple flats. Purple ribbons attach to the back of her flats and wind up her lower legs in a criss-cross “ballerina” pattern to tie just beneath her knees.
Shoulders -- A fluffy white stole encircles her shoulders. A silver pin of the Polaris symbol is set in the center over her breastbone.
Accessories -- A pair of fluffy white earmuffs attached to a purple headband.

Level Up Weaponry --
Page
Weapon - A small, purple, heart-shaped candy. A sugarplum, in fact. It is just over three inches long and one inch tall. It is heavier than it looks but it is still just candy.
Magic - None

Squire
Weapon - The candy heart gains a stick and grows to the size of her palm so that it now resembles nothing more intimidating than a large lollipop. The stick is light-colored wood and, judging by the density of it, has the strength of a half-inch-thick balsa dowel rod. It is eight inches long. The candy portion is still purple and slightly glittery; it now has more weight to it, though, and it would feel like being hit with… Well, a large lollipop.
Magic - Heart on your sleeve, no control on your tongue! - Engenbreen lifts her lollipop high and taps her target. It can be the most glancing of blows and it can touch anywhere on the target but there has to be some sort of direct contact. Then she can scamper away as she says “boom.” It is unclear if the boom is necessary or just her needing it for personal focus. Immediately, the person loses all sense of discretion and diplomacy; he or she just starts babbling whatever opinion is on their mind, appropriate or not. If they have to speak their attack name, they are plumb out of luck because those are never opinions so the attack spell will be swamped under things like “that fuku makes your butt look big” and “I think it is incredibly upsetting that hot dogs come 10 in a pack and rolls in packs of 8.” If it is a particularly strong opinion, all of their energy will be focused on convincing the nearest teammate to share the opinion. This can affect one person at a time for up to thirty seconds before the energy pool runs out.

Knight
Weapon - The lollipop has grown again! It is now a Big Darn Lollipop. Still heart-shaped, purple, and glittery, the candy portion is a fourteen inches in diameter and attached to a silver-white pole that is four inches around and four feet long. The pole appears to be made of thinly milled silver that has then been rolled and rolled and rolled until it forms the cylindrical shape. Obviously, the weapon has more heft than previously but it is still relatively lightweight and would need a lot more arm-strength than Lana possesses to do any real damage.
Magic - Non-Stop - Take that last attack and make it ten times more annoying. Engenbreen does not have to actually touch her targets this time; all she has to do is point at them clearly with her lollipop. She can also affect up to three targets at a time. The targets share their opinions so fast and free that they will run themselves completely breathless. They also will focus completely on each other and ignore the rest of the people in their vicinity as they try to sell their ideas and opinions to each other with a surprising vehemence. Again, this prevents the use of attacks that require spoken spells and breaks cooperation among teammates. The energy pool can be shared among the targets in fifteen second spans or focused on one individual for 45 seconds total.

Hey Green!

First off Congrats on your page!

Secondly, just so you know, I removed the strike from your squire and knight stages so I could read the form easier and offer feedback if needed or give a stamp. The questing handbook asks that you please don't edit the forms we provide players, this includes striking out large portions of information or coloring forms when requesting a stamp for readability reasons. That said coding alterations of struck out text and colors are fine for journals of course!

So before I can give her a stamp I have a couple of little things. First, for her wonder could you please provide the link to what her wonder is.

Second, at the bottom of the knight form is some seemingly extra information but since it's included in this section I'm a little confused and need some clarification, is this information on wonder itself or what it's named after on earth?

Whoops! Sorry about the strike-through error. I was just so relieved to be writing again and to have her cooperate... Heh.

I put a link to the wonder as well as moving the summary up to directly under her name in the second post. I hope this works!

No problem! ^-^ I just wanted you to know I removed it so I could read the rest of it, without wondering where it went.

Also, still for the summery though, is this information Engenbreen here on earth or is it for the information for the wonder that is her's? The reason I ask because her wonder that she protects is suppose to be on Polaris not on Earth, since she's a knight of Polaris. I just want to make sure I'm understanding what information your giving us here, as I'm a little confused as to what's going on with that particular information.

I hope what I'm asking makes sense? If not I'll try to clarify what I'm asking better.

Geez, I am so very very sorry about how long this took. It has been a rough year. xp I apologize profusely.

I removed the paragraph under the wonder as it seemed to be the cause for confusion. I hope this helps.

Hey, ShortGreen! This profile looks really good to me but there are a few things I have to go over before I can stamp! I will try to make things go quickly so you can get her into play soon!

The first is one of her flaws: “Stress Makes Me Break Out” – While this is totally fine for her to have as a part of her character, I am not totally sure this counts as a flaw! A flaw is a part of her personality, or set of traits, that define who she is as a person. Being a ‘flaw’ it should be something that reflects negatively on her, and we try to avoid saying that any sort of mental affliction [such as anxiety attacks] is a flaw of the character. Sometimes there can be a connotation that the person themselves are flawed simply for having any sort of mental sickness and, anxiety attacks are a fairly common. A lot of the manifestations are physical symptoms, which don’t really play into a personality trait—and if this is a diagnosable ailment it means that there are medicines that could correct her issues. But, I think there could be a quick fix! She will need this flaw to be rewritten to focus on personality traits or will need a new flaw (or, you could remove this flaw and a virtue to keep it even) but it is up to you! She seems like she could have a different flaw easily squeezed in—maybe, ‘Flighty’ could work? Rather than focus on a diagnosable anxiety issue, you could focus on how she was unreliable in extreme or stressful situations and had a tendency to run away from her problems instead of confront them? That isn’t something that could be treated with medicine and would count as a personality flaw—but it is up to you! I am happy to hash ideas with you, but don’t feel obligated to use my suggestions! I won’t have hurt feelings; she is your character and you know her better than I do!

The other thing I wanted to go over was the name—Engenbreen. I had to do some research to figure out what exactly this was, but I am sorry to say that I don’t think an ice tongue is a valid source of wonder. I am sorry for any disappointment that may cause, but I hope we can find another name that works just as well! For example, Engenbreen is an ice tongue of the glacier, Svartisen, which is a valid wonder! (There are technically two, but you could forgo the western/eastern identifiers and just refer to her as Svartisen if you were interested in that name! There are a few other minor glaciers in the area (Simlebreen and Glombreen). There are many other glaciers though, and I would be happ to help you find a name if you don’t have a backup!

I am sorry for the wall of text; please feel free to shoot me a PM or quote me if you have any coments, questions or concerns and I’ll be back as soon as possible!

Thank you for the feedback! You are very right about the stress response and so I removed it from the actual flaw list as well as removing a virtue to balance things out.

I also changed the name. Svartisen suits me down to the ground.

I think she's good to go now.
