The park was a surprisingly lovely place to run, Nazriya had found. The city of Ashdown had really put their best foot forward when it came to landscaping this place; the flower beds were well-coordinated and there was even a gazebo. Having not quite known what to expect of parks when she came to the country, she was really quite impressed with what she'd seen so far.

Which was why it was one of her newfound favourite places to run and the location she'd chosen for today's jog.

Geeky as she was, she wore her usual exercise outfit of her N7 tanktop, tights and trainers, hair up in a practical if inefficient bun, several locks having already escaped to fly about her face.

And she was slightly bored, having forgotten her ipod on this fine day.

Which was why she decided to strike up a conversation with the man running nearby. Two peas in a pod, right?

"Hey!" Drawing level with the dark-haired guy, she threw him a brilliant smile. "Nice day for a run, yeah?"

Not the most enthusiastic response but hey, at least he responded at all. "Yeah! Getting caught by the rain on a run makes everything a hundred percent shittier, no doubt. Especially when there's a risk of my ipod becoming wet - that s**t isn't waterproof, you know."

She thought for a moment, unsure of how best to continue the fledgling conversation from here on. "So... you come here often?" Yep, corniest damn line in the world but hell, he'd survive it.

"It is, yeah - it's so pretty here, you can't help but like it. Do you have any recommendations for other places to run? I just moved here and don't know the area so well and my aunt who does isn't really interested in scenic running spots." An exaggerated sigh and then she was back to smiling at him; it'd be nice to get the opinion of someone who had the same hobby and had lived here for longer than two seconds.

"I'm Nazriya, by the way! Sorry to randomly ambush you like this, was feeling a bit bored truthfully and figured everything was better with a little conversation, yeah?"

Naz thought for a moment before deeming no trail as being a bit too bothersome, "Mm yeah, that might be a bit of a problem. Thanks though!"

The chuckle she answered with was tinged with more than a bit embarrassment. "Honestly.. I usually bring my ipod and the few times I've forgotten it it's been fine enough - except for today. You know those days where you're just a bit more energetic than usual? Yeah, it's one of those. So I guess you were just unlucky enough to pass me on a bad day," she finished with another laugh, shaking her head slightly. "And what about you - do you just... run, when you run?"

"Time to think? The beautiful scenery? Liking the feel of it? Or maybe that's just me," she snorted. "Hell, maybe it just passes the time. Everyone needs a hobby, right? Something to de-stress that makes you happy - I make little felt animals when I need to wind down. Cute and tiny, plus they make people smile when you give them as a gift!"

She let a moment pass after her last sentence before continuing, "what's your hobby - just running?" It didn't sound like it from what he'd said - she hadn't been able to detect any joy in his voice when he talked about the subject, but maybe she was wrong and he was just somewhat stoic. Or she was just really s**t at reading him. It was possible that he was a bit stoic, she thought; certainly he wasn't talking her ear off but, on the other hand, he was participating in the conversation she'd more or less forced on him. That had to count for something.

"That's it?" That seemed kind of sad; surely he had other hobbies? "Do you do like... competitive stuff, then? Or have some kind of goal for it?"

"Okay..." For a moment she wracked her mind for how to continue the conversation, but nothing really came to mind without being overly prying. "Well, thanks for helping me pass the time Shun. It was awfully nice of you," she gave him a wink and an accompanying grin. "I'm gonna start heading back to my place now - have a good day, yeah?"
