History - Nadinia was born from a single stone imbued by her parents Above. - Both of her parents were well established Roots, and felt like imbuing a stone was one last thing to check off their 'life lists'. - Her father is a minor local government aide, her mother runs a flower shop, mostly catering to elaborate Dryad weddings. - She's always been proud to be a Dryad, and very appreciative of her culture. She hasn't had a tonne of non-Dryad or Fey exposure. - Her parents are loving, and want the best for their only child. - Nadinia can be a little ignorant about what cache-children experienced, as she didn't grow up with any. - Nadinia's always been an average academic student, but is quite a creative talent. Her main passion is flower arranging.
Becoming a True Seedling
Just after she finished her rather mediocre Junior year, her parents sat her down one evening and let her know that they were sending her Below to finish off her schooling. They've worried that unlike most Dryad's her age, she's not very adventurous. They also both spent some time explaining that they wished they'd adventured a little further before becoming Roots.
The announcement absolutely shocked Nadinia. She'd always imagined finishing school, maybe going on to Community College, working in her Mother's shop and buying a house in the same community as her parents. Having to spend at least her senior year Below felt like a massive blow. ... She hardly even knew anything about Below, how was she supposed to cope?
My Plans
I'm intending to have Nadinia's initial plot follow the fact that she'd been thrown into a brand new, and totally uncomfortable situation that's not of her choosing. Initially she's going to be resentful of the whole thing. Eventually I plan for her to make some strong bonds with classmates, and adjust her life plans. While she'll hate Below at first, she'll come to love it, and plan to spend the rest of her life their, and open a flower shop of her own.
