It was yesterday, or maybe the day before, or maybe last week, when your normal day was interrupted by actual Divine Intervention.

Perhaps you were watching television, and slowly Kathie Lee Gifford turned to camera to meet your eyes and spoke your name. Perhaps you were making spaghettios, for dinner, and as you stirred the pot a message started to crop up, one bit at a time. Perhaps you were sitting in a lecture about molecular biology and found, all at once, that the teacher's voice changed into something deeper and amused, talking to you about a greater purpose.

You looked around. No one else heard what you heard; no one else saw anything amiss. This was a message just for you. The exact wording and details vary for person to person, of course, but the core is always the same:

I am [GOD NAME], and I have Chosen you. If you accept my blessing, someone will come by within the next week to recruit you, and you will say yes, because it will mean magic in your life.

You could have turned them down, of course, but you did not. You agreed. And soon after, someone showed up on your doorstep to take you to the Prytaneum..

AFTER THE SOLO

After your solo is completed, sometime in the next week, one of the Staff Hero NPCs -- Brynn Abernathy, Christopher Breaux, Olivia von Hooten, or Griffin Ortega -- will come to talk to your character. This is not part of your recruitment solo, and you should not write out this part of the story, but please do choose which of the three it was, and keep track of this for your own records! At a later date, they might remember your character, or there might be opportunities to talk to them again.

They'll explain the Prytaneum's goal -- to train Chosen to be Heroes, to give them opportunities to improve on those skills and interests that lead to their recruitment, to offer them housing, and food, and more. They'll explain the downsides -- living away from home, leaving behind any job or position they might be at now. They'll explain the middleground -- this doesn't mean the end of family, it doesn't mean never going home again, it just means for now, and being limited to visits. And they'll explain the potential -- that your character might need to fight for the good of the world, should things fall to pieces.

It will prep your character, at least some, for their journey to the strange swath of land in Northern Michigan, and their new life.

OOC NOTE:

There are no actual recruitment RPs, keep in mind: your solo should only be the message from your god, and not this second part. This is just a bit of flavor so that you can have a personal relationship with one of the three mod NPCs! Simpy make a note of who recruited your character in your journal, and keep in mind that at a later date, this may determine your placement into activity groups or training situations.
