The girl had been left with three objects. Imagi was a collector, after all. But even to her, these items were odd. One was a pen. She had just used it to transform into Sailor Beta Leporis. So it did work as she was told it would. Another was a cell phone. The girl didn't quite understand why she needed this. For all she knew, there was no reason she would need to call anyone with it. The last was a set of star-shaped hair clips. Completely void of magic, but altogether pretty and worthy of a collection. At least, she could appreciate that. The pen seemed to disappear when she transformed. That was facinating in and of itself. Where did it go? She released her transformation and there the pen was again and she was once again in her ordinary clothes. Perhaps a trip to the library would help. As she walked outside, lost in thought, she gripped her henshin pen. She wondered if she could write with it too. ß

There had been a senshi signature around here, Ash was sure of it, but it had suddenly disappeared to her frustration. Curiosity nipped at her, prodding her to find out who the signature had come from, but it was fairly obvious whomever it was had powered down. Dang it.
Meeting new people was an important part of expanding her network of information, and as anyone should know, information was a crucial part of winning any conflict or war. It was more important even than outnumbering your opponent.
Crouched under a bush, grumbling to herself about the lost senshi, Ash was drawn from her thoughts by someone stepping outside. In the quiet afternoon, it caught her attention enough that she looked up and caught sight of a very distinctive pen in the hand of a young woman.
Oh, there! That had to be her! Normal people didn't just carry around those things!
Darting out from where she hid, Ash bounded up to wind around the girl's feet with a pleading mew, looking up at her with big, wide green eyes under her visor.

Imagi started to list the different sections of the library she would need to visit and their respective call numbers in her head. Magic, certainly. Perhaps astronomy, too. Had the cat said anything else she could use in her research? Just as she was thinking about the cat who started this quest, the dreamy-eyed girl managed to stop before bumping into one. "Oh! A cat."She knelt down to pet it. She wasn't exactly at her sister's level of fascination with animals, but she did enjoy them. They were relatable. She blinked her blue-grey eyes suddenly and reached for her reading glasses and a closer look. Was that a star on its forehead? ß

There was a moment there that Ash was almost certain the girl was going to step on her. She saw her coming... and then thankfully, the girl saw her. Small, pointed ears perked up as she stopped and dropped down to offer her petting, which Ash happily accepted. Her back arched as she rubbed against her hands, a purr rumbling in her chest.
Senshi really were wonderful people... Ash was forever pleased with them.The girl frowned at her suddenly and reached for some glasses, making Ash preen under her gaze. Clever girl....
"Hello, Darling." She said softly, so just the girl could hear her. "I saw your pen so I thought I would say hello. Its always good to meet new senshi, in my opinion. You never know when you're going to be glad you know someone because you need them for something... or they need you for something. Are you free to talk for a bit somewhere more private?"

Certainly that is a star-shaped mark, Imagi thought as she peered through her spectacles at a now preening feline. Could it be? The cat's speech didn't surprise her as much as it should have. She had only become aware of talking cats a few days ago. She supposed it made sense, all things considered, that there was more than one. "I suppose we can find a more private place." Maybe it was best not to get too comfortable with talking animals. This wasn't supposed to be common knowledge. She wasn't the best at social cues, but she gleamed that much. "What do you have in mind?"She doubted she could bring a cat into the library unnoticed. ß

Ash brightened as her approach seemed to go over decently well. It didn't seem to generate as much excitement as she was used to, but that was okay! Not everyone was as bright and cheery as, say, Colin.
"This way, Darling!" The silver cat chirped before she turned and took off towards the edge of the building. Tiny paws led her away from the more public and trafficed areas towards the back of the building.
It was quieter back here, and less exposed. Few people ventured this way, and that made it ideal for some girl talk, senshi to mauvian.
"Are you a new senshi? How long have you been at this? Do you remember what cat awakened you? I know a lot of them, so I might know whomever it was. I don't tend to run into senshi on the street much... but most don't show their pens around like you were. You probably should be more careful with that, you wouldn't want anyone finding out you're a senshi, right?" The guardian chattered as she found a likely looking spot in the grass and turned to sit down, her paws placed just so and her tail elegantly curled around them.

Imagi pressed the pen to her lips pensively. She hadn't thought that anyone would be able to recognize the pen. She'd have to remember that. "It was a grey cat. Not a tabby pattern like you. Come to think of it... He never said his name." Perhaps this whole ordeal was much more secretive than she had imagined. "I also recieved some other items as well as the pen."She presented a pink cell phone and a pair of star-shaped hair pins along with the signature henshin pen. ß

Ash's face darkened into a scowl, her nose lifted as she sniffed with distaste.
"I wish you did have his name, I would give him a very stern talking to about leaving his senshi to fend for themselves like that." Her voice was harsh and her tail had started to puff behind her, gently lashing. "Its irresponsible awakenings like that, that get senshi killed. How much did he tell you, about the war and being a senshi?"
Not even saying his name... how terrible. If he hadn't even done that, how much else might he have just conveniently forgotten, or not bothered, to tell her? It was a wonder the poor thing had survived this long.

She remembered that the cat who had taught her how to transform appeared to be in quite a hurry. But from the looks of this cat's tail, it was supposed to go in quite a different fashion. "I was told to protect the people of this planet and he told me my name, Beta Leporis. So I have gathered there are other planets with the one I represent being just one of many. The fact that earth needed protecting from someone with special powers like the one in this pen, I'm afraid, he was less clear on."She hoped that she didn't look uninformed. She had wanted to ask the cat more questions before he leapt off into the moonlight. But he hadn't given her the chance. ß

Ash sighed heavily and shook her head, tucking her tail around herself as she settled in for the Talk. That rogue Tom might have been irresponsible enough to leave this girl criminally uninformed, but the burmilla was not.
"Well. I suppose we shall have to fill you in then." She said. Straightening up, she took more a teacher's demeanor. "There are untold numbers of planets, stars, asteroids and more out in the galaxy, and each of them holds a power deep inside of them. Each also has a guardian for that power, one who's starseed is reborn over and over to protect their homeworld. The senshi here today are those same starseeds, or souls, reborn again. A thousand years ago, you all lived very different lives, out on your many worlds. A chaos-driven power called Metallia joined with a sorceress here on Earth and tried to overthrow the kingdom of the Moon. It led to a terrible war, and many died... as far as we know, everyone living on every planet out in the cosmos. With worlds devastated, the only place left to be reborn on was Earth, and that is why you, and everyone else, is here now."
She spoke with conviction, but it was, perhaps... a tad long winded. It was a long history, even as much as she edited it.
"Unfortunately, that evil has been reborn, or reawakened, here as well... the Negaverse, led again by Metallia. As far as we know, they want to destroy us and take control of this world, so they can feed the energy the drain from the world and it's people to Metallia. Senshi, and knights, fight against that. You awoke to fight it too, and it was terrible that your cat never told you any of this... Negaverse officers can power down just like you, and look like any normal person. If they came upon you when you didn't know them, your life would be at risk."

Imagi had suspected there was more to the story and now she knew. Perhaps it was because she was aware that the one who had awakened her had not told her everything that she did not appear surprised. Or maybe the girl just didn't show much emotion. It didn't matter much which as she started to think and you could almost see her brain working. She was always a clever girl despite being rather peculiar. "My starseed comes from a different world."She nodded as she took that in. Was that why she was so strange? Perhaps. She'd have to investigate this "starseed" concept more. "I was reborn again - here - to protect Earth. But how am I to do that?"ß

Ash's feline face softened, her head tilting just a little as she smiled her cat smile.
"Ah, darling, that is such a big question. Ultimately, how you go about it is up to you, but most of it means standing up for those who don't have your power when a monster, or one of the people controlling them, tries to hurt them." She said, nodding. "You'll need to learn to fight, even if just to defend yourself. I know some senshi who can help you with that, and with a lot of other things too, like finding places to hide out when you're hurt, or get medical attention. Give you an alibi when you've been out all night fighting the negaverse and your family wants to know why. It'll take a while to explain, but I suppose now is as good a time as any?"
Shrugging, the cat settled herself into a loaf shape and drew a breath, starting in on the rather lengthy education this young girl had missed out on, but sorely needed. She figured when she started getting thirsty they could go looking for the Catfe and the first senshi Ash wanted to introduce this girl to.Meighei just wrapping this up, since its been going so long. Consider Ash having told her everything she basically needs to know, mentioning Sailor Aegir and Sailor Thraen as people who can help her out if she needs it.
