Alexander was setting up the spot for him and his brother on the beach, their parents had trusted Alex to take care of Keri so they were at the beach by themselves that afternoon, not to swim of course, but to hang out and explore. Alexander figured he would walk along the beach with Keri and look for treasure or shells after he finished setting up the blanket and umbrella. Alex hadn't noticed Keri wasn't nearby yet. His mind on the task at hand. He looked up at the twilight sky of the bellow and wondered why his mom Aeon wanted him to use an umbrella anyway. Alex sighed and did as he was told, then went to put on sunblock and then looked around to put sunblock on Keri too, his mom being a fey still thought her kids needed sunblock even in the bellow. Alex frowned and called out "Keri??" he looked around and didn't see his brother, that was weird why would Keri wander off without him??

Well, the two of them may have thought they were alone, but Kirella was definitely a bit of the overprotective type and couldn't help but try to keep an eye on the two of them to make sure they were okay, though she kept her distance to try to let them do things on their own. However, that hadn't changed that Keriga had somehow managed to wander off from his brother. It wasn't on purpose, of course, but he was looking at some really nice sparkly shells and when he looked up, Alex was gone. He frowned, "Alexander?" He called his brother's name a few times before realizing that he was completely alone. Keriga felt a few tears welling up in his eyes, completely unsure what to do to find his way back, would he ever find him? Keriga hated being alone, and he hated being alone in a place he was unfamiliar with even more.Midnightglow18 Sorry it's so crappy, but at least it's a reply? sweatdrop

Alexander didn't realize one of his moms was nearby keeping an eye on him and his brother, in Alex's mind he was Keriga's protector. Alex wanted to be the strong one, the one to protect his moms and his brother. Perhaps it was a silly thought, considering he was still a kid, but it was still his thought process, one of the things that made him want to become a firefighter and emt. Alexander had a bit of a hero complex. Alexander's ears perked as he heard Keriga calling out for him. Alex hurried down the beach to find his brother. "Are you ok Keriga??" Alex asked once he found him.

Keriga sat there for what seemed like forever, tears running down his face. He never was very adventurous and he hadn't been a huge fan of coming to the beach without their parents, but he agreed because Alex would be there! And now that his brother was nowhere to be found, it made the little guy very anxious. After a moment or two of crying his eyes out, Keriga finally stood up, taking a look around the part of the beach he had found himself in. He blinked when he spotted a cave not too far off, it looked interesting but he didn't want to go there without his brother. He nibbled his lip, unsure about what to do when he heard Alex's voice. He turned and flung himself into his brother's arms. "I'm... I'm... fine..." He sniffled, a few more tears squeezing themselves free from his eyes. "There... there's a cave..." He pointed carefully after releasing Alex from the hug, but he never let go of his brother's arm.

Alexander smiled he was so glad that Keriga was safe it was one of the things that matter to him, more than anything else in the world. If Alex lost his brother, he didn't know what he would do. Alexander wiped Keriga's tears away. "I'm glad your ok, I was worried when I couldn't find you." Alexander turned towards the cave and grinned and asked Keriga "Want to go explore the save??" He asked curiously, hoping his brother would trust him to protect him, so they could both see what was in the cave. Maybe treasure, or shiny stones!! Alexander's tail wagged back and forth with excitement as he thought of all the possibilities.

Keriga continued to sniffle for a little bit, but he never let go of Alex's arm. At the thought of going into the cave, he clung a little tighter. There was a small part of him that wanted to go in, but another part that was very scared, however, he had been the one to point it out. "I was scared... but I wasn't hurt..." He stated quietly, his eyes not leaving the cave. He slightly hid even further against Alex. "If you... promise not to leave me..." He didn't like the thought of being separated from his brother again, especially in a place he didn't know.

Alexander smiled and said "Of course I won't leave you behind, let's go inside and check it out." Alex walked into the cave, which had several natural sun holes in the top, that let light into the cave. All around the cave, there were natural stones, that appeared to glow in the sunlight streaming into the cave. The stones were in all several different colors. Alexander smiled and leaned down and picked up a blue stone that shimmered in the light and offered it to Keriga. With a warm smile. Alex was so happy to get to spend this time with his brother. Alexander didn't say anything else for the moment just taking in the memory of exploring with his brother.

Never leaving Alex's side probably made it slightly difficult to move around, but Keriga wasn't about to let go. He was leery about anything being able to jump them. Who knew what could be in a cave? It could be a scary monster after all! Keriga's eyes were shut tight, not wanting to see what mayhem might approach them as they stepped onto the rocky ground. When Alex leaned down, Keriga nearly squeaked, trying to cling even tighter. He finally opened his eyes to see the shiny little stone and blinked, eying his brother as his cheeks grew warm. "For me...?" His adrenaline was still trying to come down as he reached for it. "It's really pretty..." He turned the stone over and watched the light shimmer across it, causing it to look several different shades of blue all at once. He tilted his head and looked passed Alex, letting go for the first time when he spotted the other stones. "There's more..? They're so pretty! Maybe we could get one for our mothers?" These were definitely prettier than the shells he had managed to collect on the beach!

Alexander smiled "Of course it's for you." he said with a small laugh, he wanted to give his brother everything he could. "Ok what color stones do you want to pick for our moms??" Alexander smiled looking around at all the different colors. Wondering if their moms would like, blue, purple, pink, green, yellow, red.. Alexander turned around looking at all the different stones in the cave. Admiring how the sun looked shining through each one. "Let's gather some of these for us and our moms and head back to the beach house." Alex said in a warm tone.

Midnightglow18 We can leave it here, if you want. It should be enough posts for his growth. =3 Keriga gave a small smile and hugged his brother. "Thank you!" He walked toward the stones carefully and picked up one of each color and put it in a sack he had brought for shells. He really wasn't sure which one his parents would want, but he wanted to make them happy and hoped they would like the stones. He couldn't help but wonder what kind of stones they were and if they'd make good decorations for some of his crafts. "Purple for Mommy Kergia and blue for Mommy Aeon?" He walked over, holding a second blue stone in his hand that was slightly darker colored than the first one. He held up a light colored yellow one, offering it to Alex. "And for you." He gave a light smile. When Alex mentioned it was time to go back, he slightly nodded. "Okay." He was ready to go show what they found to their parents anyway! He hoped they'd be as excited as he was.
