A little black cat skulked around in the bushes. Silent and dangerous, like a panther. He deftly wove his lithe body between branches and brambles...
And the padlock of his collar got stuck on one.
"MROW." It jerked his neck and took him completely by surprise. At least he hadn't yelled out any human word. The cat struggled a little with a broken branch before managing to free himself (lucky, since he didn't have thumbs). Once free, he paused and took a moment to smooth his dark coat and get himself re-situated.
Ah yes, his mission.
Fleance had developed quite the fixation with a girl who lived near the apartment complex where Griffin/Maenalus was currently residing. She was a thin, pretty red head, very tall and had ~just the prettiest laugh~. He sighed. He wasn't sure what made him fall for humans all the time (but he knew it wasn't real love- he just liked the fall) but he was back at it again. However, his little run in with the branch made him lose sight of her. Oh, whatever. He'd find her some other time. Not worth running after her for.
The cat, so fickle, began to let his attention wander to literally anything else. He wasn't going to be caught dead back at the apartment because Maenalus had said she was going on patrol tonight, and, well, if he went with her, dead is probably how he would wind up by the end of the evening. Not that he didn't like Maenalus or care about her a lot, but. She was a really shitty senshi at the moment. He just didn't have the heart to tell her, but he didn't want her to get him killed.
No, he would just wander until he figured she was back in for the night and then, Surprise! appear standing over her with his big green eyes, cold padlock brushing against her face and waking her up screaming so she could feed him. He almost felt bad, but it was too funny, even after the 20th time. But how could he be to blame? He was just a cat, after all.
As the little black figure padded along, he kept his eyes and ears alert. Maybe if he didn't see or hear anything, he might sense something exciting.
