((Na'ilah: ))
Journeying away from her homeland, the green lioness was to leave there for good. She was tired of the stares, the looks, the comments behind her back, the distrust, and all the other bad things the lions in her pride held towards her because of her coat. Now, while all lions are not evil, it just didn't make any sense to Na'ilah to judge her by how she appears.
Lime green eyes shifted here and there as she sighed soft. Pads were a bit sore after the journey and the tree up ahead looked like a nice place to relax. As each step brought her closer, she lowered herself under the shade and gazed outward. The horizon stretched on for miles will little trees and animals in the path but the swaying savannah grass.

Mika'il was silent. Not a sound was made and none could be heard. He just sat there, gazing out at the world around him and looking for any signs of life. Squinting his eyes some...there! A lioness not too far away, he figured silently to himself.
Haunches rose as he padded his was way slowly towards the female in the hopes of obtaining a decent conversation. He was sorely in the need for one with so little company around.

A gentle breeze blew past as Na'ilah's ears perked slightly to the side. A scent was drawing close and this made her slightly curious. But, as lime green eyes shifted over the landscape and resting on an approaching figure, she was shocked to say the least. Here, of all places was an odd colored lion like herself. Tilting her head slightly and blinking, just to make sure she wasn't dreaming, he was there.
And then her mind began to think things like what did he want? Is he following her? And many more as she kept silent as he came closer to let him introduce himself first. Maybe...after a lifetime of no friends, she'd make one. Or at least, it her heart she wished it thus.

Mika'il saw that the lioness wasn't leaving and knew that he was coming. Good, he thought to himself. There wasn't anything he wanted to do to startle the female. Silent, he stopped a few paces from her and spoke in a deep voice, "Hello. I am Mika'il and I hope I am not disturbing you." Green! Her coat was green just like his!

Taking in his name and remembering it, lime green eyes scanned the make as Na'ilah flicked her tail. Well, this was a first for the female. After his introduction she gave him a small smile, what harm could that bring, and introduced herself. "I'm Na'ilah," Shaking her head slightly from side to side, "As for interupting me, I fear that you are doing no such thing." As the sun was starting to set in the sky and washing the sky with colors of purple, blue and pink, she turned to look at him. "You may come closer, I won't bite."

Mika'il took the invitation as he move closer and was now under the tree. He gazed at the female before turning away. He didn't want to be caught staring and answer any uncomfortable questions. A pretty name, he said quietly to himself, that matched the lioness just nicely. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Na'ilah. I would have to say that it's not every day I run into a lioness." Turning to give her his full attenion, "Are you traveling?"

Oh, this one was a smooth talker, Na'ilah took note of that. The tip of her tail flicked slightly as the sun was setting, washing the two over in its glow. Turning to give him a smile, she wanted to be friendly and now was a time to practice her social skills. At the question though, she tilted her head and tried to push back old, bitter memories. "Yes, I am traveling from my home."

Mika'il watched the sunset as he turned his head to the dusk sky. It was quite breath-taking to him and he turned back to Na'ilah. He nodded his head slightly as she answered his question, "Ah, I see. Myself, I'm not doing much but wandering around here and there." He flicked an ear, "Myself, I've been just walking from here to there in the hopes of finding some good company."

While lying down, lime green eyes shifted towards the male as Na'ilah felt herself smile. Not at the sunset but the lion himself. He was a character to say the least. Flicking her tail, she listened to him intently as he spoke of good company. Was she good company? Surely the green lioness wished so.
Collecting her thoughts she spoke in a quiet voice, "It gets very lonely without company to be with and to converse to. The other place I am from, I had none of that so forgive me for any inadaqueties I have."

Mika'il ruffled his mane slightly and shook his head. He smiled at the lioness, "I agree." He folded one paw over the other as he talked, "I'm from the East, of a place with plenty of grass and company to boot. While it was a nice life and food was plentiful, I was lacking something, my heart told me." It was slightly strange to talk with a newcomer like he was, but he felt comfortable with Na'ilah.

Ears flicked towards the male as Na'ilah listened to him quietly. He was traveling from his homeland in search of something that his heart was telling him he was lacking? That sounded a bit foreign to the green lioness as she's never experienced anything like that. But, looking back at her life, she's been lacking a lot of things.
Lowering her head to her paws and curling her tail around her, she pushed away a painful memory. "My homeland wasn't as plentiful or as friendly as your's sounds like, Mika'il. I wasn't welcomed in the place anymore than a hyena would be...just because I was green." That was the awful truth.

Mika'il watched the female out of the corner of his eye, just so that he wouldn't get caught staring. He listened and could feel the corner of his mouth tug into a smile. He was content just laying here under the tree with Na'ilah. But, as he listened to her speak of her old pride, he could feel his eyes narrow. "Not like you for your coat color, that's obsurd!" He turned to look directly at her, "I'll be your friend, Na'ilah!"

Nodding her head slightly, Na'ilah agreed. It was unjust and unfair in her honest opinion, but if the whole of the mass agreed, there was nothing she could have done about it then. His second words shocked her! A friend! She had always longed for a friend.
A smile spread across her features as her lime green eyes lit up happily, "Really? I'd like that so much!" Adding the last bit softly, "I haven't had a friend in a while."

Mika'il felt his eyes soften slightly at Na'ilah's words. "No friends? How could you have no friends?" He couldn't see why this friendly lioness had no friends. "Don't worry...we'll stick together!" He nodded his head in earnest, friends stay together and he'd like to stay with this lioness...there was just something about her. Perhaps, it's because he could relate with her to some extent.
The night was coming and it was getting dark. He turned to Na'ilah and grinned, "The nighttime is the best."

Agreeing once again with the male, the green lioness had begun to wonder why she hadn't met this male anytime sooner! Sighing softly, she gazed up at the darkening sky and the stars starting to come out. It was rather pretty. Na'ilah talked for a bit longer before the night wore on and in the morning she had left Mika'il to go in search of a place for her to stay.
((And that conludes our meeting that will change their lives. ^^))
