Antares was anxious. Nervous energy had driven her out of her bedroom into the muggy city night. It was too hot to even wear anything to cover up her uniform once she had powered up, meaning the young woman stuck to the rooftops and shadows. At Least the height meant that she was able to catch some kind of break from the heat that was still radiating from the street. A breeze ruffled her pale blonde hair as Antares surveyed the slumbering city, a feeling of doom pressing down on her soul.

There was no logical reason for it, everything was going well. The wedding was soon, school was out, she had passed all her classes with decent grades, the wedding present was wrapped and hidden amongst the mound of others, payed completely from her own pocket, and she didn’t feel like she was being watched anymore after months of off and on, glimpses out of the corner of her eye, little momentos popping out out of nowhere, nothing concrete… just a feeling. Like a rabbit who knew a hawk was around but just can’t find it.

Maybe that was the problem. Could things have been going too well? Would all hell break loose? When would the universe step in to remind Antares that she had no right to be happy. To teach her that she was meant to be alone. To stress the fact that the blonde was not worthy to be where she was with the people she was with. Her golden heels scraped against the asphalt roof of her city perch as the senshi paced around the space, her mind whirling and brooding.

She came to a sudden stop when two very different auras flared on the edge of her limited range, one order the other chaos. But that wasn't spurred her into action. The order aura Antares was picking up was the same as hers, basic senshi but the chaos was so much stronger, their aura would have eclipsed the senshi’s if they were on the same side instead it meant that something was seriously wrong. This… This was something she could do. This was something she could control. This was perfect since it kept her mind on the present rather than the future.

It didn’t take long for her to come upon the duo and to assess that the ‘discussion’ going on was not friendly in any way and the girl, the senshi, was unable to get out of it. Her icy blue eyes narrowed as they focused on the negaverser, a general if his power level and frilliness of his uniform were any indications. She recognized him, after encountering him several times now she better recognized him. “Back off before I make you, you little s**t.” Her warning was the only one she was going to give him before she jumps into action. Antares was aware she likely wouldn’t get out of the upcoming fight without a scratch but at least the other senshi would be able to get away… and he wouldn’t be walking away without injures himself not if she had anything to say about it.

It had been a quiet night. Well, as quiet as nights tended to be in Destiny City. So quiet that it had driven Leucite to distraction. He had powered up after his workout, he needed to vent frustrations he had still not completely recovered from. He had promised Imara that he would focus on his plan, and he would, but for now, he needed a moment to sate his need for violence. She was a hunter, she could not fault him the hunt.

So he hunted.

There was not much in the way of sporting prey that night it seemed, as he drew near the energy signature of a low level senshi. She had been woefully unprepared, and she had remained distant. To that he had to give her credit. He had... tried to speak, but the dark skinned Senshi had refused to listen to reason, so, Leucite had geared himself for the unfortunate task of removing another White Moon from the world.

Then another signature appeared, and Leucite hissed at the voice under his breath. His spear spun slowly in his hands as he turned to face Antares.

"It's been awhile since I last saw you, little lady," Leucite said, keeping the spear low, and ready to attack or defend as was required. "Tell me, have you thought about my last lesson to you?"

His eyes darted to the other senshi and he smiled. "You are in luck, miss, your friend here will throw her life away for you."

she had been out stretching her wings a bit. The young senshi still not use to being the one that was to do the protecting of the innocent. Innocent hers3elf, she knew she was in for trouble when she felt his signature drawing near her. It burned like a searing flame, one that could have engulfed her at a moments notice, yet he had not. He had waited, wanted to talk.

If nothing else she was startled by this fact, but the offer that had been made to her was much less than satisfactory in her eyes. Having seen the devastation and pain that the Negaverse could bring to others, she was less than keen about joining their ranks.

"It is our goal to see peace in this world, not bring more pain and ruin to it. I would sooner see the darkness vanished for good than to fall into the hole you lot have created." She narrowed her eyes for a moment before she felt that second signature. It was new, not one she had felt before, and yet she knew order when she felt it. Help had come, and hat alone gave her a fighting chance against this man.

"I expect none to give their lives for me. I am a strong enough soul to find my own peace in this world, and I will fight to defend those that deserve that peace as much as I!" Her eyes flashed up to Antares, she wouls aid her in this, but she did not want to be seen as weak. So many had counted her out before this. It would not happen again.

"He is strong! You will need my defense!" She shouted back to Antares, making certain that the woman knew that she would not be backing down from this fight.

Antares’ gaze remained steady, little to no emotion showed on her face as she basically disregarded the spear in the nega’s hands, her cold eyes trained on his. “So I can see, you’ve kissed enough a** to get some shiney new duds. Don’t mean s**t since I will still kick your a**.” The last was more bluster than promise since the blonde knew the guy standing in front of her knew how to fight and was stronger but he sure as hell wasn’t meaner. “As for your ‘lesson’... it was crap and I’ve treated it as such.”

Her eyes flicker to the other girl, her first indication that she even acknowledged the senshi, before focusing back on the general. It was a deliberate snub, as long as Leucite was focused on Antares the other senshi wasn’t in immediate danger. Not that she expected it to remain that way for much longer.

With that in mind she didn’t hesitate or delay any further, she went on the attack. She raced towards Leucite, moving low and fast, mindful of his weapon, Antares barked out one order for the senshi, “RUN!”

It was... disheartening, really, to see how much disdain the blonde held for Leucite's attempt to educate her on the truth of things. However, he supposed he could not hold it much against her. She was a Senshi after all, and probably fairly indoctrinated in the lies the White Moon told all of its kin. But soon she would see that the White Moon was nothing more than a disjointed mess.

One way or another.

Leucite stood his ground as the blonde charged him, and he remained still, waiting for her to fully commit in her forward motion as she charged at him, body low, eyes on his blade. What little good it would do her as the General she charged head on vanished, in an instant, only to appear slightly behind and to the side of her, head of his spear flashing out to bite at her leg before sweeping the heavy butt end up toward her head in the hopes of both hamstringing her and sending her to the ground.

If the other Senshi was smart, she would flee.

Even as she was told to run, Kastra stood her ground. She watched as the battle began before her, her eyes wide and staring as she noted the man vanishing before her. It was a neat trick, but not one that would save him him the end.

She did her best to calculate his next move, watching the spearhead move through the air and bite into the others leg. He would be distracted with her, he would not notice her if she was silent.

She moved with slippered feet, moving to be nearly out of sight of the combatants. This put her mostly in Leucite's blind spot as she came up slowly behind him, she falling to her knees and swiping her foot out and beneath the man, trying to take him out at the ankles, or at least stagger him as she put some speed behind her whirling frame.

She would not be seen as useless. Not in this. Even though this man seemed to not be so fully invested in the fight, she could tell by his simple words that he was not one that could be saved.

Her eyes had been focused on his chest, waiting to see the twitch of the muscles that would divulge his attack. Aware of just how dangerous his weapon was she so focused on detecting his move him just blinking out of existence had her scrambling to stop her forward motion. Between one breath and the next he was in front of her, he disappeared, and then his aura sparked back into existence behind her. As she tried to turn Antares felt something brush the side of her leg followed by a searing pain as her body realized she had been cut.

A hiss of pain was followed by a growl of frustration as the wounded leg buckled making her stumble and land on her knee, one hand on the ground, the other on her bent knee she looked like a football player ‘taking a knee’ if it wasn't the blood slowly flowing from the large gash the a*****e gave her. It was only sheer luck that by falling Leucite’s second part of his attack missed… Barely. She could feel the staff slice through the air right where her head was moments before, the breeze he created ruffling her hair slightly. So that's the way he wanted to play.

A cold smile flashed across her face as she quietly muttered her attack. When the ghostly scorpion materialized Antares quickly scooped it up and tossed it at the general. If he wanted to play with magic so she would show him some magic.

Sailor Scout Attack: Scorpion Sting

When the attack is called out a ghostly scorpion around the size of a rat or a hamster appears and advances upon the attended target. The scorpion can be touched, swatted, hit, and stepped on but it is not recommended since it is able to sting through clothes and armor alike. When it stings, it's target gets severe pins and needles sensation in the limb that was stung... as if their limb had fallen asleep and was just then waking up, this effect lasts 30 seconds. Any residual affects are up to the target if there is any at all.

The scorpion can be dodged and after 7 feet it disappears and it can only manifest for 30 seconds at a time. It does not travel in a straight line, rather it will head to anything moving so it could be tricked. The length of the scorpion and the length of the effects of the attack are separate, if you are stung in the beginning you have just as long as someone stung right before the scorpion disappears.

This attack can be used up to a maximum of three times in a battle. When the three scorpions have been used no more can manifest until later.

While the miss with his back swing annoyed Leucite slightly, he was heartened by the fact that Antares was now slowed down. She was a fast one, and that had made fights with her somewhat difficult. He would have much preffered to try and talk some more sense into her, but as it stood, she had attacked him, and so he had acted in self defense. He had only aimed to injure, not maim or kill. He only wanted to slow her down.

As she scooped up the scorpian to throw at him, Leucite took a quick step back, ready to teleport when suddenly the world was falling out from under him. He had not expected the second senshi to remain, let alone fight back. Her leg sweep had completely caught him off guard, and as such, Leucite found himself tumbling a**-over-head behind the dark skinned woman. He did not know where the scorpion that Antares threw at him went, but definitely not on him, or at least, not on any part of his body.

Landing with a rough grunt, Leucite was sure there would be a nice bruise on his upper back in the morning. His spear clattered across the rooftop, but that was of little matter, to him in that moment.

If both senshi were going to attack him, well... That would require him to even the odds a little. Rolling onto his side he started to rise, even as his will drew into the Rift, summoning his personal youma, Iudicael, to his side. The hound shaped youma bared its teeth as it appeared by its master's side and Leucite grunted.

"Iudicael, hunt."

The youma snarled and took a flying leap toward Kastra, teeth bared and jaw open as it attempted to land on the girl and pin her to the ground.

As Leucite rose to his feet he summoned his weapon to him, and once more held it pointed at Antares. "Submit, or the other girl dies... Iudicael will see to that."

She was more than pleased when her attack hit home. She was not, however, so pleased when the scorpion went flying over her head, or when the large, youma dog was sent in her direction.

She cursed under her breath, she getting to her feet and darting off at top speed away from the hellbeast just far enough that it would follow her and not attempt to attack Antares. She settled in and readied herself for the oncoming attack, she calming her mind and focusing her mental energy on how she approach this battle. "You can attack me...but I will win. Your master might have a soul behind his darkness, but I have learned that those like you are simple husks."

Her eyes flashed open, the red hues catching the light nearby and blazing to life with and inner fire. She was ready for this. She would not let this beast attack another, and she sure as hell was not going to fall victim herself.

The magic scorpion had flown over the negaverse’s head, much to Antares’ disappointment, only to disappear as it passed her range for magic. A small part of her was hoping to see his face fall asleep like the first time they had tangled but a bigger part of her found the reason why the scorpion missed so much more gratifying. Apparently the little wren of a senshi wasn’t as helpless as she appeared and knocked the general on his a** in a sneak attack. There might be some hope on both senshi getting out of this fight with their skin, mostly, intact. That hope was popped like a child’s balloon when a fiery dog like creature appeared next to Leucite as he climbed to his feet.

The youma was new. If Antares didn’t already dislike Leucite then the appearance of the youma hellhound would have done it. He was already a strong a*****e why add a demon creature as well? Not that this setback would change her mind. Like the general, Antares got to her feet, concealing the sharp stab of pain from the slice down her thigh and the knowledge that blood was still trickling down her leg. It hurt but she would rather chew off her own arm before she voluntarily shared that fact with anyone let alone the dumb ******** in front of her.

“I will never submit.” She was proud, probably too much so considering her current situation, but she sure as s**t wasn’t going to back down. Apparently she wasn’t the only one. Antares’ eyes flickered briefly towards the other senshi, barely catching the challenge she directed towards the youma. “Even a rabbit will bite when cornered.” Antares smirked at Leucite. She needed to deal with him as fast as possible because no matter what the blonde said, she was quite aware of how much danger the other girl was in but the negaverser was the main threat. If she showed she cared about Kastra then Antares knew he would use that against them so she kept her attention centred on Leucite.

With no further warning she came at him again. Doing her best to dodge inside the range with her injured leg. Hoping to get her hand on the shaft of the spear and either yank it away from Leucite or pull him off balance where she could get her hands on him and make him hurt as well. So much depended on luck right then, but then again so did a lot of her fights… that and surprise. Few expected the blond waif to have a wicked right hook. Sadly Leucite did so that left skill and luck, a hell of a lot of luck.

Leucite was quick to realize the fight had officially entered skirmish territory. No side actively controlled the momentum of combat, and he knew that for now, Iudicael would act in accordance to his orders, but the youma would not change its target until it was sure the dark skinned senshi was no longer a threat. While Leucite did not relish the thought of wasting potential converts to the cause, he did understand a lost cause when he saw one. Without a major change in their views of the Negaverse, neither of these White Moon Senshi would deign to even contemplate the error of their ways.

Sad really.

Iudicael, all snarl and spittle and teeth, baleful red eyes locked on the Senshi of Meditation, gave chase as Kastra ran from him. When she finally turned to face him, the youma leaped at her once more, but instead of going for an arm or her torso, it angled its bite toward her leg, more specifically her right shin/calf. It's fangs snapped at the senshi, each bite audible. It was fairly obvious that a bite for the youma was designed to hurt.

Leucite however, was focused on Antares. It was strange that they had such a one-sided rivalry. It amused him really. His constant gain in power while she had languished behind. He was sure that some small level of jealously prompted her verbal abuse earlier, but now, her defiance in the face of overwhelming odds was... laughably inspiring. He had to give her the fact that she had moxie, and was willing to face down an opponent who had already show he was far too powerful for her to face alone - let alone with an equally weak ally.

Still... As she came at him again, he held his ground, waiting until the very last second, letting her actively throw her attack at him before he vanished once more, only to appear behind her, his spear moving to try and get the haft of it under her chin and press her against his body and cut off her air.

"You can't win..." He hissed angrily. "Join me... You could bring peace to this world. Join me willingly and I will let your friend go."

Sitara saw the beast come at her, she keeping her ground as the beast snapped it vice-like jaws at her leg. she lifted her foot, aiming to kick the beast in its flapping maw. With any luck she would break it, with more luck the beast would dust itself.

She thrust her leg out hard, sandled feet bracing for impact as her whole body was put into her attack. If she missed, she knew she would feel the pain of the bite.

"Lord Ganesha, please protect me, keep me safe in this moment of need." She whispered the words out loud. Hoping beyond all hope that one little prayer would be enough to keep her safe. She was not so very devout as some, but she knew that her gods were listening. If she was worthy, they would aid her.

Mel to the rescue?

Torvil
Adding cat to help with demon dog sweatdrop

She wasn’t exactly expecting him to stand there and let her beat the s**t out of him, kinda even expected him to pop out of existence to appear further away again, keeping her from punching his face in with his spear. Antares sure wasn’t expecting him to materialized right behind her and try to choke her into submission using the shaft of his weapon. She had managed to get one hand up before he pulled her against him, leveraging the polished haft of the spear under her chin, pinning her in place. For a moment her vision went hazy in panic as her fingers scrabbled at the weapon trying to get a hold on it even as she struggled to breathe, one hand up by her neck keeping him from completely cutting off her air while the other tried to pull it away, even as she thrashed against him. Being pinned and helpless was her worst nightmare.

It took her a longer than it should have for her to calm enough to regain some semblance of her icy exterior. Antares stopped moving, she stopped fighting and just stood there trying to breath… to think. It didn’t take long for her to come up with a plan, “Rather S.I.N.G.” In four quick moves the young senshi tried to drive her free elbow into Leucite’s side, hoping for a kidney or some other soft target. Almost simultaneously she viciously stomped her heeled foot on his, going for his instep and hoping something broke, all the while jerking her head back looking to break his nose on the back of her skull. The last move was one that was the favorite of all girls everywhere, a nut shot. After trying to elbow him, she swung her fist down and blindly aimed for Leucite’s family jewels.

Any one of her attacks would hopefully get him to release her but all four combined would hurt like hell if not cause serious damage if they landed properly. Antares didn’t give him a chance to recover in anyway, using her whole body this time she bucked away from him, trying to get free of his grasp.

>^.^<

Just as Antares had started in her attempt at freedom there came a loud yowling screech from out of the darkness followed quickly by a large shadow breaking away and going after the youma. “Get away from my senshi you slobbering mongrel.” A large cat had come barreling from out of the darkness, intent on protecting his friend. Mel, guardian cat extraordinaire bounded towards Kastra and Iudicael, so intent on their battle he completely missed the other two fighting. While Kastra went to kick the demon dog Mel went to claw it on its hind quarters.

Leucite had to commend the girl, she had spunk, or moxie, or whatever it was that kids called it these days. Personally Leucite preferred grit, but it was really a pedantic question anyway. Her 'warning' as it was, did little for him for not having seen the particular film from which it had come, but as he saw her head careening back and felt her elbow impact his chest, he knew that it was going to be ugly if he stuck around too long.

Her elbow did impact him in his solar plexus, which did cause him to lose his air, this lightened his grip on her considerably. Her stomp on his instep was... unpleasent, but thankfully his boots were rather sturdy, so the majority of her damage was mitigated by the thick leather and a slight shift of his weight and footing as he slowly moved back.

The tossing back of her head did not meet his nose, but instead, impacted the hard flat part of his forehead. He had seen her head moving, and so had instead tossed his own head forward to meet it... head on. He knew it would be painful for both of them, but he was hoping his own tolerance for pain would trump her own.

The shot for the groin, thankfully, avoided its mark by a wide margin, but, Leucite was forced to release his grip on her, and instead of choking her out, he slashed across her torso with the head of his spear, hoping to score another good hit against her more vital areas now.

Iudicael was also having a hard time of things. The snarling bite it had launched at Kastra had earned it a solid kick in the head, and suddenly, as if out of nowhere, it was being clawed on it's hindquarters by a large guardian. Iudicael did not have orders regarding the Mauvian, so it was ignored, though it's tail did swat at the attacker in an attempt to dislodge it from him so he could focus purely on Kastra. The kick had shaken the youma a bit, and its legs were a little less steady, but it still snarled and bit at her. Again it lunged, mouth open, this time attempting to bite her on the arm or shoulder.

She had rolled her body to the ground before the large youma. She having heard the screech of her guardian and the deafening snaps of the youma's jaws. It was almost too much for the young Senshi to handle, but as the beast came at her again, she managed to roll her body out of the way.

She lay there on the round, catching her breath as the beast took a face into the folds of her fuku. She grinning for a moment before she rushed to her feet. She shot a glance at the large Savannah Cat the clung so desperately to the creatures tail. "Mel!! You foolish a**! Get off the beast and come to my side! We are stronger together!"

She darted back, avoiding another onslaught from the jaws and lashing tail. She reaching down to grab a rock and hurt it at the monster's face.

Kastra glanced to the one that had been her savior. She was locked in battle with that man. Damn! What could she do to help her out?

She rushed forward, knowing the youma would be after her, but all the same, she know her magic could confuse with the momentary calm. If nothing else it gave Antares a moment to escape.

Stopping just before the fighting pair, she took up her attack stance, focusing her mind, breathing deep and calling out the words to her attack. "Kastra Calming Willow!"

Sailor Scout Attack: Calming Willow

Sailor Kastra takes on the Standing Tree Posture with her hands placed palm to palm in front of her chest and calls out the name of her attack which immediately forms an aura around herself and anyone within a 7' radius. For the next 15 seconds an air of calmness reaches out from her blanketing those in this feeling of spiritual awareness and clarity. Any aggression or hostility an individual is feeling diminishes over time leaving them with a sense of clarity and peace.
