Personality:
Akela is a very kind, pleasant young woman. She will go out of her way to help those that ask her as well as those that don't ask but clearly need some sort of aid. She is dedicated and hardworking, but sensible enough to leave some time for fooling around.
History:
Akela grew up in a small village hidden among the more mountainous peaks of the Alola region. Her family, along with several others, belongs to a very tight-knit tribe that follows the old traditions that were passed down from generation to generation. Though many in the modern world, she has come to find, seem to shun their spiritual ways, there is no other way she would have rather grown up. In her youth, she was selected to train with her tribe's priestess, to learn the old ways so that when the time came, she could lead the tribe in the old woman's stead. It was a fortuitous opportunity for the girl, and one that she took pride in. For years, she trained with the old woman, learning the secrets, the intricacies of their beliefs and customs. And then one day, she was called to the woman's hut and told that she must leave. It was infrequent for one of their tribe to leave the village and journey into the modern world, almost as uncommon as outsiders finding their home. Akela knew the purpose of this journey, however. It have been told to her on several occasions, as this was a test given to all priestesses in training. They had to travel far from their homes and prove themselves, prove their ability to guide. They needed to show that they were strong and worthy of the position.
The girl's departure from her home was tear-filled, but also exciting, as she looked forward to finding out what was beyond the horizon. What she got, was much more harrowing. Yes the world outside her home was a wondrous and fantastic place, but there were all kinds of people in it that she had not expects. Criminals, twisted morals, harsh realities...it was a long journey as the girl tried to adapt and understand this strange new world. By the time she got a feel for the way this "modern world" worked, a year had gone by since she left home. She had traveled many regions and now found herself in one known as Johto, where the girl decided to begin truly proving herself.
