So as for ideas, I have a few notable things built upon past discussions:
There will be multiple lucario subspecies (number not defined yet) The reason for sub species is due to the land they are trapped on being torn into different isolated sections This overly sized region of an island has one of those dragon force pillars which has broken (reference Victini movie) The dragon force tore apart the land and continues to pour out of the cracks, causing the isolated areas Each isolated area has it's own climate, geography, and make up The lucario race of each isolated area is a subspecies adapted to that landscape Dragon Force is repelled by aura, thus why the lucario are the main race Other pokemon do exist but rely upon the protection of said lucario Each subspecies can possibly have different cultures since the isolation has been going on for years Until the start of the role play, no subspecies has met the other in this time The Dragon Force spawns that of shadowy creatures sometimes looking like pokemon, sometimes not. These shadowy creatures have no emotion and only wish to destroy Weak minded people can be possessed by the Dragon Force

If anything that is a really condensed version but I would love to hear ideas to make the concept feel more like a world. I have a few ideas but I find that everyone can have a piece of their own interests that can make the role play that much better

You want to make the rp feel more like a world? Well, I have always admired feline pokemon.... Or if you are talking about backgrounds, I have a few Shall We Date scenes saved on my computer. Don't worry, they're just the backgrounds. They are rather detailed backgrounds of houses, hills, mountains, different scenery all that kind of stuff

Well that could help set the scene but I would imagine that many of the places would be chaotic looking. Although feel free to throw ideas out

Two not widely know aspects of lucario is that from their aura use: healing and constructing. It is not widely shown in the anime or most other sources but a lucario can use aura to heal injuries and diagnose sicknesses. Also aura can be used for constructive purposes other than destructive purposes. For example the alleged "aura dome" seen in the anime is an example of constructing. Instead of making something offense wise the aura dome is a shield of protection formed from aura. Due to that we know that a lucario can actually form temporary objects via aura. So.. no worries on that ^ ^

Hmmm I have considered many times that there should be settlements within each region with low counts of these dangers due to supervision which allows somewhat normal life to continue. Of course each place may vary in design and purpose as to how they survive. Also PSMD had a similar thing happen with Dark Matter. This stuff was made of pure negativity and could remain formless or take shape of powered up pokemon.
-Subspecies are based upon environment not type/attributes, but gain perks/ talents according to region environment; Forrest > herbal knowledge, snow > higher endurance/stamina ect
-Pokemon colors can be effected by element, attributes, subspecies and/or region.
-each Pokemon can have unique skills, subspecies and environment may effect their skills, for example we will use my avatar; Element; Electric, Skill; Material Swords, Environment; Urban. My element gives a bonus to speed, which would allow me to attack faster and move quicker, this would apply to how fast I could swing my metal sword, how ever "living" in a urban environment gives no additional traits, if my home environment was say in the mountains I might be physical stronger or durable, as an electric type I might also benefit more from being in the mountains then anywhere else, such as a grass type, ergo green colouration would benefit more in a forest and have a higher knowledge of plants and herbs. Ect
-a Pokémon's unique trait might be multi-element, in the case of a regular lucario [Fighting] and [Steel], this unique ability would allow them to also be a [Fire] Type, granting them Fire Ability's and Skills in Addition to normal, Exibit A; Zancuno, himself; [Fighting] [Steel] [Fire], Another Example Might Be [Electric] [Steel] and [Ground]...
-A Primary Element Between [Fighting] or [Steel] Must be chosen, The Secondary Type [Fighting] or [Steel] may be changed to another Element, Example; [Steel] & [Electric], [Fighting] & [Water], [Steel] & [Fire] ect...

You nailed what was on my mind right on the head there Dilrax, but add one more thing to the subspecies:
The subspecies may also have different anatomical and physical traits. Think of it like your paws and chest there. I don't see spikes, but I do see claws on the digits.
This way we could have things like a dragon type lucario subspecies that has grown horns and wings and other variations like that. This will make it to where all of the subspecies won't be just color swaps.
Curious what sort of environment would a Ghost Type Lucario would be... perhaps a dark forest? I don't really see them being around haunted houses or graves despite how gloomy that is or unless a Lucario somehow died there then I guess? It'll be interesting if they are capable of connecting to the spirit world like Dusknoir with their aura abilities.

Actually Dilrax and I have been talking about the different subspecies and working out more details about them. Even going as far to deciding new subspecies to add to the list. As of such there will be Elemental Lucario. I have not fully worked out the lore yet but I'll say this. Aura abilities do have a connection to the spiritual world at times. I can say this from experience. Although how a ghost or dark type lucario is formed may have something to do with the dragon force corrupting the land. A lucario corrupted by this power will become a shadow pokemon. Although however, what if the dragon force completely destroys a lucario's body and mind in a way and leaves it trapped between the living and spiritual world due to that exposure. As of such that would mean those ghost lucario would be those with a very strong and righteous mind to prevent corruption.

The Dark luca could be your typical Dark type, a shadow luca is well something entirly else, but a ghost type lucario could be well... A spirit, while physically weak/unstable to a degree they could hive a higher level of aura as they could be in theory a manifestation of aura nolonger with a physical body
