Neo Midgar Skystage

[Brave Restoration King]

A platform that floats above Neo Midgar. It seemed to appear shortly after Nero recreated Midgar into Neo Midgar, though it is unclear if he put it there or it was some other power. Nevertheless, the platform offers an great view of the city, though it is hard to access. There are five warp points across the city that bring a person to this platform, but it can only be accessed by someone who has the strength to fight. One could also, in theory, access the platform through flight or teleportation.
Though it offers a stunning view, it is also a prime battle site. Just be careful not to fall off...

"There's not a thing I don't cherish!"

Cloud stood atop the platform above the streets of Midgar, looking over the city. "..." The wind blew, calmly. The Ultima Weapon was on his back, and he stood there, contemplating things. The Beast was defeated. The world was saved. But still, he couldn't help but feel like things weren't right. Adachi was still running ShinRa. ShinRa was still against them. Jenova was still alive. There were still so many threats to the world...
And he wondered how helpful he had been in the battle against the Beast. He had survived the battle, and had done some damage, but... how much had he really done? Ephraim was the real hero of the day, along with a few others. He had done the most damage to the Beast's final form, and set it up to be killed moments later. "..." He shook his head. "Mom... have I grown strong? Or am I as weak as I always was..?"
"..." Cloud turned his head. The figure he saw wasn't what he was hoping to see. It certainly wasn't his mother. "Good to see you.... Cloud."
"..." Cloud turned to face his antithesis. "I knew you would come back..."
"Of course, Cloud. So long as you exist, so too, shall I. I am the embodiment of your darkness..." Sephiroth smirked. "Your doubt, your self-pity... I am empowered by it. So long as you continue to doubt, I will never leave."
"I don't doubt that I can kill you." Cloud said, his hand going to the Ultima Weapon's handle. "And I'll do it as many times as it takes."
"Another day, perhaps." The One-Winged Angel chuckled. "I have... more interesting matters to attend to." And with that, he suddenly vanished, in a flurry of black feathers.
"Sephiroth!" Cloud grunted. This was a problem. Now he had returned, along with everything else... "...Damn..."

Standing at a safe distance within the area where two young fighters were battling in hope to show the world just who was stronger, was Hana. Holding her golden holy staff, or rather, somewhat leaning against it as she watched the two. For some time since the arena had opened, she got herself a small job here. It was simple, after a battle had been won, she would go to heal the contestants. Or if she saw that the battle was becoming far to dangerous, and life was being threatened, she would step in to stop them, and proceed to heal had she needed to. It was nice in a way, feeling needed for something, helping others as she wanted to do. At first ,she denied the pay, but in the end she was forced to take the payment for her work. After all, it wasn't always so easy, especially when those fighting didn't want to stop fighting, or became angry with her for trying to make them stop and moved to attack her. Yes, she had several moments like that.....

But now, she was dealing with something that didn't normally bother her. Why was she leaning against her staff? And why did she seem to be struggling to stay up? If anyone had taken a moment to even look at her, they might notice she was sweating heavily, and her forehead was quite hot. Despite all this, she was fighting for the strength to stay and keep these people healed...
When all of a sudden, her staff collided with the ground, along with her..
Those fighting suddenly came to a stop, puzzled as to what just happened to their healer. Did they hurt her? No, that wasn't it.. Both of the boys rushed over to Hana, who didn't seem responsive. She was in some sort of deep sleep almost instantly...or at least, it seemed so.. "...What happened to her?? We didn't cast anything near her...or toward her...""I don't think the problem is us, she seems to be very sick.." The other said, as he moved his hand away from her forehead. "She's burning up..." Lord knows why she stayed here while she was so sick. Was she THAT dedicated to healing them?? It was a stupid thing to do..... "I'll take her to the medical center..." He said as he lifted her off the ground gently, one of the guards stationed for this area also would go with him as an escort as the two left quickly to the special elevator for staff and members here.

When the doors of the elevator opened, both Hana and the young man were met by a sudden surprise. A surprise that sent both of them through the back of the elevator, flying back even several more feet until a harsh impact with the ground came. The boy holding Hana, was able to brace her enough that he would take the lot of the damage, and he did..
Laying there for several moments, stunned and in terrible pain, he couldn't move even if he tried to. That's when the one responsible, appeared a few feet from the two. A darkly haired, eerie woman.
To her surprise, as she neared them, a sudden radiant golden light appeared around both Hana and the boy. Despite Hana being unconscious, something in her reacted. He would begin to feel his injuries heal, and the pain suppress. "Hmm..Her desire to heal and protect are fascinating....I must say. Even while being infected of the virus, unconscious, she still finds a way to protect her precious humans....Though, i'm afraid that luck is about to run out for you,boy. She can't heal you through what is coming. " She smiled coldly, raising her hand................

But her approach would come to a stop, as yet another appeared suddenly, right in front of her! "No! I won't let you, I've started over, and I made my own path! I will never return to Krul again...My new path to happiness...begins now.!" Lenna raised her katana, as a flurry of...soft pink,purple butterfly's began to fly around her. Of course they were no real butterflies, but a source of energy that not only looked strangely beautiful and unfitting of a former Reaper, but caused a ton of damage. Each butterfly was a heavy source of damaging energy, and enough could even be deadly.
Without another word spoken, the two would find their selves fighting against each other now....

"Eek!" Ariel's last scream for the night rang out, as she would feel a sudden brief amount of pain to her head, as she was thrown to the ground by a strong gust of wind. The wind did no real damage, it was her inability to dodge and move out of the way quick enough that would cost her a headache for the rest of the night. Though, at the same time, it wasn't entirely her fault..Her 'team', had all failed miserable too! While they were the fighters, and defense to protect her, the healer, they had failed to do so.So, why were these inexperienced kids doing such a crazy thing here?

Because they wanted to be fighters to protect the world, to be like the good side of Avalanche, and in Ariel's case, she wanted to heal and be helpful in SOME way. So, it was the small group of teenager's who found Ariel one day, and in their desperate need of a healer, they informed her of their plans to become great one day. They invited her to their group, so that one day they too, could be able to stand in between enemies and the helpless. Ariel was easily convinced as she wanted to do this for many years...So, this is what they had been doing for several weeks, with little to no improvement.........

Sitting up slowly, Ariel was helped up by one of her team-mates, who she smiled to nervously..."T-Thank you...." She sighed. This wasn't going as she dreamed....

"Just give it up. This is no dream for kids to have..Nether of you are cut out for this. If you persist on my training, then let me say this now. I am warning you, I will no longer be going easy on you. If this is what it takes for you to see the hopeless dream you are chasing, then so be it. Now, do you heed my words, and go play like good little children, or be foolish and chase this impossible dream to become something better?" The woman's voice was dead serious, even cold enough to put a little fear in their minds. "Choose quickly. " The teenage 'hero's', began to group up, speaking with one another out of ear shot range of the woman, were they going to give up? Would they run away from their dream? .............

"Ha!" Slashing his massive blade with unrealistic speed, Zack cleaved through the undead corpse before him, spinning around and cutting through another one. He took a few deep breaths, sweat beginning to form at his forehead.
"Never settle with your fighting abilities. Even if you think you're the best, you're not. There's always someone better than you."
The words of his mentor--Angeal--ran through his mind. He took a deep breath. "Train and get better... Ha!" He slashed forward again. "Never stop improving." Just like he was taught. ...He looked around at the piles of bodies that had been cut clean through. "Oh. Is that all?"
"Aren't you done yet?" Yugi sat atop one of the three floating platforms, his hand supporting his lazy head.
"Oh, come on! Just one more session?"
"You know, Zack, sitting here and watching you cut up all my good friends really isn't my idea of a good time." The zombies reassembled themselves, standing back up. "They were fine with the idea of some exercise, but you have to consider their feelings, too."
"But they're... undead?" He heard one of the zombies let out a terrifying wail, that almost sounded hurt.
"Hey! Just because they're undead doesn't mean they don't have feelings!" Yugi hopped down, going over to the zombie who let out the wail. "Gah, you hurt his feelings, He's very sensitive! Come on, Paulie, he didn't mean it! He's just ignorant. Come on..." He held out his arms for a hug. The zombie hesitated. "Come onnnnnn, you know you wanna." After a moment, the zombie stepped forward, putting its decayed arms around Yugi. "Ahh, that's my Paulie! C'mon, group hug everyone!" All the zombies crowded around Yugi excitedly, joining in some kind of group hug. From a passerby, this would look like them crowding around Yugi to try to kill him. "Hey Zack--come on, you wanna join in?"
"Ahahaha..." Zack waved his hands quickly. "No thanks, I'm, er, good over here..." Getting close to a decayed corpse sounded horrific.

Standing at the safest location away from the battle area, was the most unlikely visitor. Aven, the peaceful loving, shy teenager who normally would never be spotted in such a place, but...for whatever reason, she just couldn't seem to find a single thing to do today and she was terribly bored. After being shooed away from her mother this time, away from the sanctuary, she had to find something to keep her occupied. When he came to Midgar, she had felt a lot of presence's she knew gathered in the mansion, so she made sure to avoid that. To. Many. People. She would probably die if it was possible to die of nervousness. So here she was, where only two familiar faces were in what had to be a practicing moment of fun for Zack, and even better no real danger or injuries could be sustained with his undead 'enemies'. By the time Yugi started to question Zack's enjoyment of slashing down his poooor zombies, she had to stand up from where she was sitting, there was a rare form of amusement on her own face as she watched the most interesting, funny scene unfold.."Hi, you two.." She smiled, glancing back to Zack. "Would you like an extra long rain-coat? Then you can give them the required love and cuddles they so long for!" Oh, god. She made a joke! What was the world coming to?! Giggling softly, she returned her attention to Yugi and his best buddies.

"Well since you're so concerned about them getting extra attention, you could go join their hugging session." Zack countered back with a toothy grin to Aven. "I'm good. Aerith.... uh... gets mad if I hug other things. Especially undead things. She specified." Yeah, that was definitely it.
"You two are rude af." Yugi said with a blank expression. "I should bring Cuddles here. There's no way you wouldn't want to hug him!" Somehow Yugi found Cuddles to be the most adorable thing in the world, despite it being a grotesque monster to most others. "Oh, Aven. Where's your girlfriend?" He grinned.
"Whoa, seriously?!" He glanced at Aven. "...Girlfriend? That'skindahotnotgonnalie..."
"Oh come on Zack, she's underage. You know... probably. Uh, how old are you again, Aven?" He scratched the side of his head. "Blaze told me something about you being with some super direct girl. Makes sense. That seems like exactly your type." Since she was so shy and reserved. "Weird there are like three relationships with two girls but none with two guys."
"Trying to tell us something, Yugi? Don't worry, I'm sure the guy of your dreams is out there somewhere."
"What-! No! I prefer my partner to be FEMININE and BLONDE and ANGELIC and NAMED HANA. Am I getting too specific yet?"
"Nah, I'm sure there are plenty of girls who fit that description." The two laughed. "Have you talked to her yet?"
"Well, you know..." He sighed. "I've just been avoiding her like the plague for so long, treating her so badly... I don't really see the point. She's probably with someone else already. Some big strong guy. Named Craig. Yeah, that's a pretty jockish name." He sighed. "I'm sure Craig is a better boyfriend for her than I'll ever be."
"Dude, Craig doesn't even exist."
"I'm sure there's someone in the world named Craig."
"That's not what I meant!" He sighed. "It's your call I guess. But the longer you wait, the worse it'll be."
Yugi sighed. "Yeah, probably... What do you think, Aven? What would you do if you were in this situation?" He paused a moment. "...Also have you and this girl slept together yet?"
"Dude!"
"WHAT? I'm curious as to how two girls would even DO that! Is it wrong to be curious?! I'm a curious young boy, leave me alone!"
"Curiosity killed the Cuddles."
"You leave Cuddles out of this you son of a b***h."

Aven had to hold back her giggles, this may of been one of the more interesting and amusing conversations she had in probably her entire life. "Oh, I wouldn't dare take the moment away from you. You were the chosen one, after all! " Chosen by Yugi to hug his zombies, or at least requested to do so! "I think Cuddles is a little to big for us to hug...Oh! And I don't think you would want me to hug ether of your friends, I come from a holy family. My own energy could harm them you see.." Hey, that was probably the best excuse she would ever come up with to avoid having to hug any of them. At Yugi's question, her face lit up in a faint blush. "Um, she's with her family..." She kind of insisted that she spend the holiday with them, with how close she was to all of her family and friends, it wouldn't seem right for her not to be with them. Aven's family on the other hand, didn't seem to be doing anything this year, otherwise she would have been helping with the cooking and gathering of family and friends. It must have been very disappointing to Kana, that girl could eat a whole turkey in one sitting. She certainly had the appetite of a demon! As the conversation continued with Yugi and Zack, the teasing began for poor Yugi. But the humor didn't seem to last much longer. "..Hmm? I can tell you for certain, there is no 'Craig'. So that's it? You've given up before you even try to mend something that was so precious to you? " She sounded disappointed, it didn't seem like Yugi to give up.
"Hana has done her best to move on from her past mistakes..but she hasn't for a second, moved on from you. She misses you terribly and is only waiting for you to forgive her. As it is, she has gone all this time thinking you hate her.." She paused a moment, his last question would go unanswered! " If I was in a situation like this..I would want to fix it as soon as possible. The question is, can you truly say you love her? If you can, then you already have your answer. "

"Well, ladies first you know." Zack returned. "I'm a gentleman after all."
"Oh pshaw, that weak excuse doesn't work!" Yugi said to Aven. "If HANA, the ANGEL, can hug Cuddles, I think he wouldn't be harmed by you. Nice try though." He stuck his tongue out. "Hmm. With her family? Does this girl have... pink hair, by any chance?"
"Hey there cutie." Aven would suddenly feel an arm around her shoulders, and, of course, the pink-haired young Mercenary there. "I feel like it's been forever since we saw each other~ I almost forgot how cute you were!" She pinched her cheek as if she were an adorable little girl. "Or how nice your body was..." She grinned. She made it sound like it had been years, but it was unlikely that it had been more than a day or two.
"Hmm, for some reason, I expected your girlfriend to be a bit more hot." Yugi said, resting his head against his hand.[
"Huh?! I'm... I'm hot! Well okay, maybe not compared to Aven, but..."
"Eh, you're kinda pretty I guess. But you're pretty average for off-worlder girls. Usually they're drop-dead gorgeous."
"Oh..." Soleil's face fell. "M-my dad always says I'm gorgeous..."
"Well, parents have to-"
"Hey!" Zack shot Yugi a look. "Maybe it would be better if you didn't talk to Hana if that's how you talk to girls." He said under his breath. "Don't listen to him! He's blind in one eye."

"You're really cute. Honestly, if I wasn't married, I'd flirt with you in a heartbeat." He smiled at her. "I'm Zack! Zack Fair."
"..." Soleil's face looking sad was the saddest thing in the entire universe. She was always smiling. "I'm Soleil..." She said quietly.
"Th-that's such a pretty name!!" Zack said really loudly in a clearly desperate attempt to cheer her up. "I SHOULD INTRODUCE YOU TO MY WIFE, SHE LOVES PINK. AND YOUR HAIR IS PINK. IT'S PERFECT. HAHAHAHA yugi was just apologizing." He smacked Yugi on the side of his head.
"Ow! Geez. I wasn't trying to hurt your feelings."
Soleil sighed deeply. "It's not your fault. Obviously Aven deserves a better-looking gal than me, but..."
"You suck at apologizing."
"Dad always says honesty is a virtue!"
"'Has Stark never taught you about common courtesy you stupid ninja?!"

"Hmm...Then, if you are a gentleman, you should be the honorable one to hug the thing you were requested to hug! It wouldn't be very gentlemanly, or kind to ignore such a heart-warming request! " Aven seemed to be having a rare moment of fun that didn't involve excluding herself from the world. Talking to Zack was strangely easy, there were only few people she was really comfortable talking to, Zack seemed to be one of them. His fun happy personality must of been the key. Then there was Yugi who of course, anyone would have fun talking and playfully arguing with. Not to mention he was kind of family, if he ever decided to fix things with her aunt, Hana! "...Maybe she used a special magic to keep her holy energy from coming into contact with him? " ..She was bad at this, but still having fun regardless. "Hmm? ...How did you know what color--?? "? Of course, she was behind her, wasn't she? The arm that suddenly came to rest around her shoulders and familiar voice kind of answered that question! It wasn't long before she had her red on the face, with her pinching of Aven's cheek as though she were a cute little girl! "S-Soleil..I'm not Sakura..!" She was worthy of the cutesy-attacks. Although it was a bit embarrassing in front of the other two, she couldn't help but laugh softly. "I thought you were going to spend time with your family? I don't want to keep you away from them if they wanted you to be there? " Although of course, Avy enjoyed Soleil's company and obviously wanted her to be around, she still wanted to be sure her real family wasn't missing her too. If they grew to despise Aven due to keeping her away from them, she wouldn't be very happy. It was a constant worry in her mind.
"....Yugi? ...What are you doing???" He would hear in his mind suddenly. "What kind of a person says that to a girl??? " Suddenly, she didn't sound so softly spoken, even through her 'secret' conversation with Yugi there. "..Soleil is very beautiful, as everything about her is..Anyone who doesn't see this truth shouldn't even be allowed to speak to her! " Aven was speaking out loud now, but looking directly at Yugi. There was a faint fire in the usual softly spoken teenager's eyes.. " Do you just enjoy hurting girls feelings? First you ignore Hana for an unbelievable amount of time, even though you must of known how much she's been depressed with you avoiding her?? You couldn't even answer if you truly loved her. And now you hurt Soleil.....?? " Aven maaay of been mad...

"Not Sakura?!" Soleil's signature smile swept across her face. "That's true. But it's clear you two are related--you're both insanely adorable, for starters." In different ways, perhaps. "But all your sisters are! And so's your mother. Your mother's pretty-"
"Hot?" Zack cut in. "Yeah, yeah, hardy har, very original joke." It seemed like everyone had made a joke about Phoenix being hot at this point.
"We did spend time together, silly! I just didn't stay the entire time. They've got Kana after all... he needs their attention a lot more than I do." She said with a smile. Not to mention things always seemed to feel... awkward? with her mother. Not that her mother didn't love her, or was mean to her anymore, but it was like she felt... guilty. Soleil would never want her to feel that way though, especially not in relation to her, so she tried not to be around her too much. As much as she adored her mother, she thought maybe it would be best this way. "Besides, I enjoy hanging out with your family too when I can." She spent a good amount of time at the Sanctuary these days when she got the chance. She was so lively and... sunshiney that everyone seemed to like her being around. Even Malak and Nero, even though they tried not to show it.
Yugi was picking at his ear until he heard the sudden voice in his head. "AHH!" It caused him to lose balance and fall off the platform he was on, hitting the main stage area with a soft thud. In the next moment, he was behind Zack, as if using him as a human shield as he peaked out at Aven. "Oh god, she's so scary..." Aven was such a quiet, unassuming girl that this was actually terrifying. "U-um, I'm sorry for hurting your girlfriend's feelings?! Maybe she should work on her appearance a little, and this wouldn't--"

Soleil's eyes were wide at her girlfriend's sudden rage. That was... not something she had ever seen. ...And it sent a strange sort of excitement through her. Did Soleil have a similar attraction to these sorts of things as Rinoa and Unisha? "I-it's okay, Aven! It's not his fault he doesn't think I look good." She blinked, beginning to slowly nudge Aven away from the terrified ninja. "W-we'll just be over there..." She got Aven far enough away from the two, and glanced back. They stopped paying attention, as Zack seemed to be continuing to lecture him on girls. "..." Soleil looked back at Aven, for a moment with a severe expression. "......Oh Aven!!" She hurled her weight onto the poor girl, throwing her arms around her. If she wasn't prepared, it would end with a tumble onto the ground, with the energetic teenager on top. "Thatwassocute! You're so hot!! You-you defended me..." She couldn't stop smiling, and it almost seemed like she was starting to tear up a bit. "That was so sweet... I've never seen that side of you before! It was so hot... ehehehe...." She smiled at the girl. "I-I love you..." She said quietly. "I-I hope I'm not saying this too soon... but you got me all emotional... My heart is racing!" She smiled brightly with some tears streaming from her eyes. "Here, feel it!" She grabbed her hand and.... what else? Brought it up to feel her chest. This girl was not shy. "Heehee, I loooove you.......~ Kiss me, cutie." As if she had much of a choice, Soleil would lean into her and kiss her directly on the lips. If they were on the floor, she would plant her hands on either side of her head against the floor, as she leaned down. This was an oddly cute, and at the same time, really hot scene. Not a combo often seen. "So wait, you really think I'm beautiful?! You mean it?!? Come on, say it again! Please?!"

Aven smiled, giggling softly at the series of compliments being thrown at her family. "You know, I don't think anyone has ever said that about my mother, that didn't mean it in a silly way, such as how our funny Zack just demonstrated! " To hear anyone actually say Phoenix was pretty, seemed so strange for some reason. Not that she wasn't, she just didn't seem to be the type to love on compliments of her looks, that or she just didn't get them enough to really know what it was like! That might of been a little sad..at the same time.
"That doesn't seem fair to you? Did you want to spend more time with them? " It sounded like she may of wanted to, but as the good big sister that she was, let her little brother enjoy their company more so then she got to enjoy her self.

Moments later, after Yugi's terribly choices words that sent Aven into a slight rare rage, successfully frightening Yugi to hide like a scared little boy behind Zack, came another interesting scene. He didn't seem to know how to shut up with insults, so it was probably time she took another step up. "Step away from Yugi, Zack.." She warned him, before.........after Zack had moved away, Yugi would suddenly be met with a sensation striking the top of his head, and exploding. It exploded with...water! Yes, Aven just created a water balloon to drop on top of Yugi's head, in a obvious mimic of her own fathers love for dropping things over people's heads!

"To wash the sinful soul that is you, Yugi! You're so rude! " It was so strange! To feel anger like this was such a rare thing, it was a wonder if she had ever really shown any sign of anger in all of her life. "...?? It's not okay for him to talk to you like that..with such lies, he should learn how to speak to a lady! " Stark must have been to busy with his work, to really teach Yugi those things called manors and respect!
It was then that Soleil attempted to get her away a good distance from Yugi. Probably best for the both of them, Aven wasn't cut out for being mean to anyone, and would probably regret her anger towards Yugi later on. "..??!" But before she could get another word out, she was thrown into surprise by an overly energetic, cheerful teenager. A well armed teenager with much weight to her clothing and heavy gear. That topped with her sudden leaping hug and an unsuspecting Aven, well, we all knew where that would end. With the two of them on the ground, and Soleil sitting there on top of her. It was easy to say Aven's anger was quickly subsided, replaced with her trade-mark shy, red cheeks! "I-I...O-only did what..felt right..? " Her blush wasn't going anywhere anytime soon.."I just felt...so upset hearing him talk to you like that...y-you looked so sad..I couldn't bare to see you like that.." Soleil continued to say something even more of a greater surprise, three little words.."...You...love me? " It was as if she couldn't believe the words spoken to hear. Even after all the time she and Soleil had together, and how great they were together, in Aven's mind, somewhere deep inside there, she still had that trouble believing that her life could truly be something. She had spent so long believing no one could or would ever truly love her, that sometimes it was hard to let go of those worries. But then Soleil came along...
Ah, but before she could manage to get a word out, she found her hand being placed..in an area of Soleil's chest, creating an even brighter red face to Aven's poor features. She wasn't kidding, though. She did feel her heart racing! Kind of like her own was, too..
And even more so when Soleil leaned down to kiss her. Poor Aven was so nervous at this point, she could barely think to return the short-lived kiss. As it ended, Aven could only smile up at her through her blushing face.."...You are beautiful.." She said in a softer voice.."I-it may of taken me some time to realize..but until now, I realize that I can move on from my fears...I never thought anyone would ever truly love me..and then I met this girl...a..very direct, somewhat-of-a-stalker, strong..beautiful girl..who through everything she still could bare to be around me..and never once became angry of my...nervousness..my shyness..instead, she helped break me out of the shell I put up, opened me up to a happier life. Making more friends, talking to strangers, things I could barely or never do at all before I met this special, wonderful girl named Soleil..." She took a moment, her smile remained as she looked up into her eyes.. "She has been a light I never knew I could see, a true hero in every aspect, and...the only one that I can ever say I love....I love you, Soleil..."
