The male hadn't come back here in a while, not since the pride had disbanded. Although he had stuck close to the ocean, or wandering to another part of it, he hadn't found a reason to come back. Though he still donned his pirate gear he didn't feel many ties to anything anymore. Heck he had even started losing his accent after the travels he had done. The ocean was the only thing he couldn't just leave behind. So here was the once pirate sitting lazily half in the water half out. The water rushing past him and then back again. Was definitely a sight to see.
Then there was the blind look he had going for him. The dull dead eyes everyone else saw actually had a lot of life to them. Though you wouldn't be able to tell now. He was sullen. Pride gone. Wandered for so long. Although one thought kept him going... the remembrance of a lioness he had met some time ago that still held his heart. Did she feel the same still? He didn't even know where she was headed, let alone that he'd ever find her again.
That's when he saw the other lion out of the corner of his eye. Instead of turning to the lion he stayed where he was. The whole play blind thing always seemed to work for him. He could use it possibly. Hopefully this was just another rogue and not someone looking for a fight, but if it was a fight... well he'd be ready.

DavyJnah I threw one of Bous' thralls in for funs. ^_^ Bousvor had decided to make the day an outing to go aviking. It'd been some time since he'd last gotten out. In fact, if he really thought about it, it was before his thrall had given birth. Her little of six had kept them both busy as some had some physical problems. Now they were adults. No he had not gone out in a long time. On a while he gathered a couple things to go. The large male left a message with one of his thralls cubs; no not cubs, offspring.
One of them, Aellae, happened to hear and asked to come with him. At first Bousvor was hesitant to allow the young female to join him. She happened to have club right front foot which made walking difficult, and running more so. Eventually she talked him into it. The male decided to stick close to the lands and not go as fast. He could at least bring back something to eat if they found anything. So the pair had set out. Part way through the trip though a big thunderstorm developed. Bousvor made a detour around it to avoid it.
By the time they cleared it, they'd gone much further than he'd intended. He sighed and rested for Aellae as he took in his surroundings. Faintly he started to frown. This looked like the border for the pirates. Normally he stayed away as pirates and vikings didn't mesh well. It looked like their border, but there wasn't any signs. Well there was old signs, but it was old and scattered. Nothing fresh. It was a puzzle.
Aellae was desperate to get out of the den for awhile. In truth, she was desperate to get anywhere! She could only take so long being cooped up with mother and five siblings for so long. So when she overheard Bousvor saying he was going out for a viking, she jumped on the chance to go with him. The female laid out her argument cleverly and logically. Eventually, she got him to agree to take her.
Eager to be out and exploring the world without her family, she did her best to keep up with the stoic male she'd grown up with. Bousvor let them get away with so much, she thought as she took a grateful break. Avoiding the storm had been hard and her foot had started to hurt a bit. She laid out in the shade and gingerly licked it as stealthily as possible. It wouldn't do for Bousvor to think they had to hurt back.

Did they not notice him yet as he tilted his head ever so slightly to look about. It seemed the lion had a lioness with him. Well now if there was a fight this wouldn't be fair at all. Even knowing he was strong being outnumbered never really worked out in the favor of the one not having a partner. Maybe it was time to stop being lazy and greet these strangers.
With a shake as he stood to get some water off of him, Cythraul gave an audible yawn. This was sure to draw attention to himself, although he didn't want it that much it was better to be noticed and sized up than picked at like a weakling. He was not a weakling and did not want anyone to think otherwise. Once he was a first mate to the Pirate King himself. That counted for something in his time even if he the only lions who would know were those in the old pride.
Even though he wasn't blind he had worked on his senses a little bit. Hearing and smell mostly. They smelt... almost familiar to him. As if he had come across them somewhere. Maybe something he had smelt in one of the dens long ago? He wasn't sure.

Bousvor tried not to pace, but he paced some anyway. He was antsy to get a move on. They had ended up near the ocean. Maybe they could hunt for treasures washed up on the rocks and beach. Surely Aellae would like that and it would be easier on her. He'd of course noted her limping and had called the break. Mind made up, Bousvor turned to her. "Ready Aellae? We're gonna go beach combing. See what's washed up on the shore." He smiled fondly and lead her towards the beach. All the cubs from this thrall Kisukari had a soft spot in his heart, which they all knew.Aellae perked up as he called an end to the break. She was ready to go again! "Yes sir." She heaved herself to her feet and headed over to join me. The brown female nodded slowly as Bousvor explained what they were going to do. "I like that! I've never seen the ocean before." She was going to look forward to this! There'd be an excellent story to tell tonight. Plus she needed to find something for Bousvor to take back as treasure. She was going to search every inch of beach!
The brown female scampered after her master. She knew he was slowing his pace so she could hobble ahead of him. Not that she paid much attention to her club foot right then. She made it first up onto a ridge to look out over the water. Her gaze was mesmerized by the waves crashing it. After several long minutes she tore her eyes away from all that water. Looking over the beach which they'd soon be on, she noticed a black lump on the sand. It was out of place and she realized she should have noticed it before. "Master Bousvor! There's a lion down there." He came instantly alert at her call. Bousvor climbed up side her to see the lion. Indeed it was. Was it a rogue passing through or a pirate? He was pretty sure he could fight off a pirate if he had to, but having Aellae with him put him at a disadvantage. He couldn't risk having her hurt or her mother would be furious with him. After a moment's though he decided to go down. "Wait here until I call. I want to make sure its safe."
The large male slid down the sand and made his way closer to the dark male. "Excuse me. I was curious and maybe you can answer. Do you know what happened to the pride that use to live in these lands?"

"Gone." The male responded. "They be gone." he repeated. Of course except him or any stragglers that might had stayed. He didn't really know he left after it began to crumble. Get out while the going's still good was a motto right? "What you want?" Not looking at the male directly. He used his peripherals to look at the other. "What are you doing here?" The male questioned, "Here to plunder the rest of a pride's wares or are you here for the ocean?"
The roar of the ocean seemed to answer him as he said it like an angry wounded creature before it quieted as if answering his call. "Looted what was here and there and stuck to the seas for me." Oh how he missed everyone. He heaved a sigh, he missed a lot of things.

Bousvor mulled over the words quietly for a bit. Gone? What kind of gone was this lion talking about? Had they all gone out on a raid? Had some disease wiped them out? Another pride attacked and killed off most? It was hard to tell. He could wait and see and maybe do a little judicious exploring on his own.
"Want?" This male sounded like he expected them to rob him right then and there. Bousvor rolled his eyes. This fellow sounded like he was down on his luck. "I only asked you a question. We're here for the ocean." The male could stay where he was and grump for all Bousvor cared. He frowned a bit as he realized that Aellae was making her down toward them instead of staying up there until he called. Aellae limped slowly toward the males. She knew her master hadn't called her down yet, but something seemed to say that she should go. The thrall looked over the male curiously. "I'm Aellae, and this is my master Bousvor." She tilted her head at the male. His eyes where white and she noted that he never seemed to look at them when he spoke. Was he rude or simply couldn't see? "This is the first time I've been to the sea. I'm looking forward to looking around." Aellae twitched her ears to better. The waves crashed against the shore with such a power. She loved it!
"Bousvor I really want to bring mother back something." She started looking around her to see if anything caught her eyes right away. Not that she expected it to. Anything worth keeping must be earned.

"Good. The ocean is free." The male chuckled, his ears swiveling to hear the new lioness who had come down. He finally turned his head to get a better look at the two and to also show his dull eyes to them. Interesting two. The male looked tough and almost like he was higher than the two and then the female, he noticed a limp. A spry girl despite her disability she seemed quite content which was always good. At least he had gotten a male for the male even if he hadn't given it to the dark male outright.
Keeping looking straight forward he gave a grin, "Aellae and Bousvor." He remember the name, or he'd try to anyway. "Exploring the world?" He asked, carefully stepping in a general direction of the voices before stopping, "Let me tell you, the ocean is the only thing that I love. Bring all to the sea, the more the merrier."

Bousvor sighed silently to himself. His thrall had trained her cubs well. They were almost as much of a pawful as their mother. The large male gazed fondly on the petite female. He'd do quite a bit for this litter of cubs no matter how much he grumbled. He was glad the storm had directed them toward the ocean. This would be good trip for the inexperienced female and, he hoped, fun for her. "We will be sure to find her something Aellae."
The tawny male rolled his eyes. Of course the ocean was free! That's why they were here. He reminded himself to keep his temper with this lion. "Out on a joy walk. Storm drove us this way. I'm sure her mother will kill me when we get back." He spoke fondly toward the female, amusement in his voice so she'd know just how much he was putting on the line for her. Knowing green eyes regarded the other male as he commented on the ocean. He had a growing suspicion about this male. So far he hadn't said or done anything to directly confirm that suspicion. Time would tell. Aellae let her eyes sparkle with delight as a grin covered her maw. "Excellent. I don't see how many one lion could possible tame or claim the ocean. It would be silly." She spent a few more moments just watching. It was quite possible she'd never grow tied of this. Too bad they didn't live just a tiny bit closer, or maybe they did and she'd just never explored that far. A clubfoot could be so troublesome at times!
"What's your name?" She felt he'd discarded the courtesy required after she'd named them. "Are you here alone?" She was curious about this lion who appeared to be blind. Who had a disability like herself. The only ones she'd meet who were like her were her siblings, and she'd grown up with them.

Turning towards them he walked over to both of them. "Yer right, it is silly." The male chuckled at the female, "I can't tame nor claim it but it has claimed me for sure." Another chuckled as his ears twitched and he turned a bit toward Bousvor, "There are a few shells and a few knock knacks in the dens I've sure you can take."
He liked the female. Her spirit was something that he admired. He didn't know what to think of the male though. He was hard to read and that somewhat bothered him. "She is your cub then?" He asked, more wanted to know about them. "Joy walk." What the dark male had noticed was the club foot. How long did they walk for? Must have been hard for Aellae to move and there must have been a few stops to allow her to catch up.
"I am Cythraul." Giving a small bow to the two lions. "I am alone, for now."{PS IGNORE THIS I accidentally deleted the post before your response this is here because I am dumb. Unless you want to delete that post respost and then have me post. If that makes sense because i have the post but out of order and my OCD... UGH. SO TIRED.}

Bousvor waited as the male moved closer. He kept close watch lest he try something against his thrall. Something made him frown for a moment until he placed his paw on it. Dens? "What dens?" He rumbled softly, which may not have been heard of the crashing of the waves. There was something strange going on here. He was going to get to the bottom of it. "Aellae, why don't you go start looking for pretties for Kisukari." He gave a nod to her, implying he wanted to talk to the lion alone-ish.
The tawny male stood quietly until Aellae had left. He watched her walk off for a moment then turned his green gaze back on the other male. "What dens?" he asked now loud enough to be heard. Bousvor snorted with amusement as the female laughed. Oh what a scandal that had been! "No, she is my thrall's cub, but not mine. Tell me Cythraul. Were you alone before?" He stared steadily into the other male's eyes. Aellae grinned as the male took her tease in good humor. At least he knew, unlike some reavers who thought anything they saw was theirs. That annoyed her. The land was for all, not just a thing to be plundered time and time again. She laughed at a private thought when the male asked if Bousvor was their father. Their mother had certainly hinted to some that that might be the case. And with Bousvor keeping them all, but not claiming them, it really was a toss up in some minds. She loved to keep them guessing.
She saw the nod, and knew something was troubling the great lion. With a friendly wave she headed toward the ocean to play in the sand. "Nice to meet you Cythraul!"

The male started to give a growl at the male. Hinting that he needed to step off a little bit. "No. I was not always alone. I once had a group that I thought of as family. They be gone now unto other things now. But they be here in me 'eart." Then he actually turned his whole head to actually look at the male before him, sizing him up, although his eyes remained as steady as someone who were blind. Bousvor looked rather tough but also looked like a possible good fight if they were to get into a scrap. "There be dens here. I've travelled 'ere a few times. This 'asn't been me first rodeo out to the waters. I frequently come back to this spot." Not that he was going to give him the entire reason as to why he travelled here it had significance to him though. The first place he had ever called home.
Stepping even closer to the male but not close enough to be within swiping distance Cythraul started to bring himself to his full height and stop slouching, not to make a show of force but to let the other male know he wouldn't be walked over despite playing a cripple. Then he dipped his head a little, careful to not dip too far as to leave himself open but enough. "I am sorry ta have assumed she were yer cub. The way you two be talkin' ye sound like father and daughter. I've scoured those dens a few times. A few things I've bumped inta. Dunno what they may be, these eyes of mine." He gave a small chuckle as if it were an inside joke, "Loosen up will ya."

Bousvor flicked his tail, but didn't give ground at the growl. If his thrall or his pride was in danger he'd ferret out the reason. He had the bone now. The way the male started to talk gave him another clue of who this male's "family" was. In a way, if what Cythraul said was true, he was sad the other male lost his family. He doubted anyone in the Stormborn would be sad about the loss of the pirates. The tawny male gave the other a break now that he'd found out what he'd wanted to know to his satisfaction.
"I'm not the type to pillage empty dens." He had some respect after all. Some vikings might not. Bousvor tensed his muscles slightly as the male again moved closer. His ears flicked with amusement as Cythraul asserted himself. "Understandable, in fact I've pretty much been father to the litter," which was why they sounded so close. He nodded to male as Aellae came back toward them. "If you decide to look for another place of the ocean to call home, you may try down to the beach a bit. If you're willing to give up pirating way. We'll be on our way now. Good bye Cythraul." Aellae diligently scoured the beach for pretties to take back to her mother. One eye kept discrete watch on Bousvor for cues that trouble might be brewing. It was funny how guys wanted to talk out of the range of female hearing. Not that she minded. She was a thrall after all. Some thralls never got taken out. She guessed their masters were afraid they'd run off. She was lucky Bousvor was willing with her bad foot. Several shinies distracted her from her thoughts as she dug them out.
The variety of shells she found delighted her. It was hard to only pick a few to take back, but she couldn't or wouldn't ask Bousvor to help her carry anything back. She'd walked out here, she'd found them, she'd carry them back, and she'd presents them to her mother. Treasures held carefully in her maw, Aellae turned to head back to the pair of males. Just as she got close enough to hear them speaking, she heard Bousvor saying they'd be on their way. Regretfully she nodded her head in farewell and turned to follow her master.

magnadearel Fin. Getting challenge ready! Hmm, the male had figured it out not that it was a bad thing but he knew he hadn't completely lost his pirate speech. Eventually the speech would go away but he still had some time to work on it and if he were around other lions and lioness then he'd pick up on their speech patterns. Although the thought of another home on the ocean was perfect. That and maybe this pride was where he might find Aruna. He had been searching for her since the fall of his own pride. Although he wanted to hold onto some of his old pirate past the thought of a new life didn't sound too bad to have some change in his life. Although, he might not completely give up what he was wearing, he'd give up the rest of it if he had to for a new chance.
"I be takin' ye up on that offer Bousvor." He muttered to himself as the male began to leave with Aellae. Then he turned one last doleful eye to his old home, bade it goodbye and decided to follow after the two. Hopefully Branderyn would be able to find him. That raven was a shifty one and didn't always stick by his side but she always seemed to find her way to him.
