Rummy's life had been completely altered by the white moon's kidnapping of her, and she hadn't powered up like she used too. She hadn't gone out to find the Dark mirrors to train. She hadn't done anything.
She had curled herself safe into the large house, and into Mags arms more then she cared to admit was healthy. And even so, when Mags donned Aurostibite, and left the house to do the work that called the man of his station, she still didn't power up.
Terrified of the white moon finding her again, ashamed to the dark mirrors that she had been weak, and depressed that she couldn't help Auro, she had slunk into a drought of feelings.
But today. Today she no longer wanted to feel this way. Today, she would pull herself together, every little piece and draw herself together.
"Magiore." She whispered, as she came over the man in the study, sliding her arms over his shoulders and resting her chin on his shoulder. "Would you like to go on a date tonight?"

He'd taken it slow with her.
It was hard; Magiore was still going out as Aurostibite to take care of his recruits and to take care of business in the Negaverse, but Durumi had not powered up hardly at all ever since the kidnapping. It was not as though he could blame her; he still remembered her gaunt, hollowed fear when he'd seen her in that cell.
But he worried. She held him sometimes without speaking, curled up against his chest, staring at the television or at a book or the wall without really seeing any of it. Magiore kept her as occupied as he could, but even he could only do so much, and it pained him, because seeing Durumi in pain was like a physical ache that he could not make go away.
He was in his study now, sitting at the large, oak desk that he'd come to associate as his work station. Papers were spread across it, and a pair of black glasses sat on the edge of his nose, Magiore sorting through files with a sort of meticulous calm. He was aware of Durumi's arms sliding around him, gentle and sweet, and he lifted his own to pat her hand affectionately.
"What is it?" he asked, but his question was answered a moment later. Magiore froze in the act of pulling a piece of paper from his inbox, fingers stalled midair with the sheet dangling. After a second, he lowered it to its rightful spot on the desk, hardly daring to believe.
"Of course I would," said Magiore, and he shifted back, turning in his chair so that he could rest a hand at her waist, looking up at her.
"Where would you like to go?"

"Into town. I'd like to walk." She could feel the tension in his shoulders, and the way he seemed to tighten at her question. When he turned to look at her, she couldn't help but feel the love that swelled in her heart. The steady increase in heart, the way her breath caught.
"Before you go to teach." Her hands played with the papers without really moving them. "I saw that you were hired at a new school." While her features were coming back to normal, her gaze always held a bit of sadness and hesitancy.
"What are you going to teach?"

He tilted his head up to look at Durumi, the expression on his face one of affection. There was no one like her in this world; he would not allow anything more to happen to her, not if he could help it - and now that he was steadily finding his place within the Negaverse, Magiore felt confident for the first time in his own abilities.
A smile tugged at his lips, his hands finding both of hers and gathering them together, clasped in his own. "I did," he said. "Literature. But I'll also be looking for new potential members to recruit; it's a highly effective position, I'm fortunate that I have the background necessary to be a part of it."
He drew her hands to his lips and pressed a soft kiss to Durumi's knuckles. Magiore stood up, bent, and kissed her forehead as well, lingering close before pulling back.
"Let's go for a walk, then," he said affectionately.
