Ryker stood at the edge of the beach, arms full of fun beachy things like shovels and buckets for the girls to make sand castles with, towels, a couple umbrellas, and a bunch of other toys that got thrown in the bags. Also the important stuff like snacks. Lots of snacks. Drinks too, of course. He looked back at Matty and the small horde of girls they had made together and chewed his lip uncertainly, one of his fangs curving over his lip.
"Boo, are you sure this is a good idea?" he asked with a grin. He wasn't usually the cautious one, but becoming a father had taught him a little bit about being careful. Especially with four girls. On a big beach. Where they could get lost. Or hurt. Or drown. Damn it. "Did we pack the floaties?" he asked and dug through one of the bags on his arms. Carefully though, he wouldn't want to accidentally snag the floaties with a claw.

Effie stood facing her parents with arms crossed over her chest and one paw tapping in the sand. "Daaaads, come onnnn! We'll be fiiiiine," she grumbled. She was already in her brand new bathing suit: hot pink with black hearts and bubbles all over it. Her pink tipped tail flicked impatiently and she leaned her shoulder against her twin's shoulder, fairly sure Popple was as excited about being at the beach as she was.
While they waited for their dads to be ready, she turned to Popple and asked, "Do you wanna go swimming first? Or build a sand castle? Or something else?" She was sure that they would get to do everything before they went home, but it was always good to have an idea of what to do first.

Parfait was facing the ocean while her older sister urged their parents to get on with this beach outing, her mind completely elsewhere even as she slid her claws between her sister's larger ones. In her mind, she was already selecting what paints she would need to paint the scene before her. She would need several blues for the water, maybe some purples, too. Lighter blues for the sky, and white. Yellow and orange for the sun. Maybe some red... She shifted on her feet in the sand and spoke to Cookie though she was still surveying the beach. "What do you want to do first, Cookie?" Honestly, Parfait would have been happy with her sketch book and a pencil for a while, but she wanted to make sure her sister had a good time at the beach, too.

Matty watched his man as he stood there, arms full of pretty much everything they had packed for their day at the beach, snickering in great amusement. Why Ryker seemed to need to be the one to do everything like that was beyond him, but he wasn't complaining. With a grin on his face, he stepped up to his boo and grabbed a couple things from him, setting them down in the sand.
"Baby... this is what we all need! A fun day in the sun together!" He then snitched the bag Ryker was digging through, holding it against his bare chest. "You're gonna give yourself premature wrinkles on that sexy face of yours if you keep this up. It's the beach... what trouble could the girls get into here?...." Of course, as soon as those words came out of his mouth all sorts of images flooded his overactive brain. Eeshk... That prompted him to hunt down the floaties, smirking as he pulled them out of the bag. "Thank gods!"

Popple stood next to her sissy in her matching swimsuit, her actions mirroring her twinnie's. As their shoulders touched, those bright orange eyes of hers met with the dark pink of her sister's and they sparkled with trouble. There were so many things they could do today! The chances for fun and trouble were endless and they needed to get started asap!
Hooking her arm through Effie's, Popple hummed and tilted her head back and forth. What to do, what to do. "Swimming!" she settled on. She couldn't wait to get in the water and there would be time for building sandcastles while eating lunch and all that good stuff. Especially since daddu made sure to remind them a million times on the way here that they'd have to wait an entire half an hour to get back in the water after eating! Giving a tug to her sissy's arm, she started toward the water, trying to get them away from the daddies before they could wing them!

As Cookie stood there on the sandy beach, her mind was nowhere and everywhere at the same time. She was happily hidden beneath a too-big black t-shirt that covered her swimsuit. She felt too embarrassed to wear so little out in the open... plus this particular shirt was a bit of a security blanket to her. The grimmlin jumped, startled at the feeling of something touching her. Her head turned and she was relieved to see Parfait was the one taking her paw. The question posed to her made her shrug a little bit before she spoke softly, giving a small squeeze to the hand holding hers. "I wanna do whatever you want to." And if she knew her sister, which she did, they'd most likely spend a good bit of time sitting in the sand while Parfait sketched and such. It would be a good day if that's all they did to her. Plus she was scared of trying to swim....

He smiled as Matty took some of the things he had gathered in his arms. He couldn't help it; when they did something, Ryker liked to go all out and if that meant carrying bags upon bags of things the kids might possibly be interested in playing with while at the beach, well he was okay with that. Which was one reason he had ended up falling for the goblin. While Matty indulged in amusement at Ryker's tendencies, he was always there to dial him back one or two notches, too. He laughed a little and nodded. "Yes. Fun in the sun~" he said and smiled, then made an adorable half squeaking noise when the bag he was looking through got snatched. "Hey!" he chuckled. "Well now, we can't have that, can we? Laugh lines are much better than wrinkles, right?"
"Oh, good. You found the floaties," he said when Matty produced them. He was still a little skeptical about letting the girls run loose on the beach, but he supposed as long as they didn't wander too far that he could relax. "Okay girls, if you're gonna go swimming take the floaties. No drowning, okay?" he smiled at their group and ruffled a couple heads before searching through another bag and producing a couple giant beach towels for Matty and himself to relax on while the girls played.

Effie grinned. Her twin was always practically in her brain when it came to what to do. "Right! Swimming!" she giggled and tried to edge away from their dads along with Popple. Unfortunately, they hadn't quite made it out of range when daddu thrust two pair of the floaties their direction and told them to take them along. "Fine, fine. We'll be fine. Relax, daddu!" she said and grabbed both pair, holding one out to Popple before tugging her along toward the beach with a smirk.
"Daddu only said we had to take them. He didn't say we had to wear them, right?" she grinned. They could totally leave the floaties on the beach while they played, unhampered, in the water. They were totally old enough to swim without them anyway. Floaties were for babies.

Parfait smiled a bit; Cookie was always so easy to get along with. She worried for her sister sometimes, though. She didn't want others to take advantage of her willingness to go along. Parfait would have to kick some butts. She wouldn't like it, but she'd do anything if it meant protecting or avenging her sister. "We could go sit under the dock," she suggested. It was shady under there and she could sketch the wooden structure from below as well as the beach and the water. The horizon, too. And then they could go swimming later if Cookie felt up to it. As much as she wanted to do her thing, she also wanted to make sure her sister had a good day at the beach, too.
