 Kaipo flicked his tail. It was strange- being away from home. However, school was pretty fun (for the most part) and every once in a while, they got to go on small trips like this one. Everyone was pretty excited to be able to go the ice cream parlor and Kaipo was definitely no exception. It was probably the best thing all week and made up for those classes that bored him to absolute tears. It would probably be a good way for him to make some friends too. He nodded to himself, resolute in his decision. Of course, that would be after he picked out what kind of ice cream he wanted, which was terribly difficult. How was he supposed to pick between all these great flavors? He pondered as he waited in line and took a deep breath before addressing the next kid in line. "Hey. What kind of ice cream are you getting?"

 The little red kirin boy was quite literally bouncing in place. He was trying to see over everyone's head as they all crowded the counter in what freshlings would call "A line" but was really more like a cloud, or swarm of bees. Neither of his siblings were on this trip, clearly the chaperons figured it would be best not to have every freshling ever with them at once, so Vega was more then happy to make friends... after he got icecream. Maybe he could sit with someone who liked the same flavor? Suddenly, someone near him spoke, and Vega looked at the fellow kirin. His face morphed from anxious to super pleased when he saw the boy was another like him. "I donno. I can't even see what flavors there are!" He half whined before putting his hand on the head of the kid in front of him and pushing down trying to get a better vantage point. That didn't really work in his favor as the other kid pushed Vega away. He looked back to the kirin who had spoken to him. "I wouldn't mind having raspberry, if they have it. Or strawberry! Pomegranate would be good too. Oh, but what if they have mint? I like mint. And Cinnamon! Have you had cinnamon icecream? What flavor do you think you want?"

Kaipo smiled as the other kirin spoke. Maybe making friends wouldn't be that hard after all! "I don't know how I'm supposed to choose, there are so many different, really amazing flavors." He sighed, a long and drawn out exhale that expressed his frustration with such a difficulty perfectly. "I haven't had any cinnamon ice cream before though. Is it good? I like chocolate and strawberry. I wonder if there is an ice cream that is chocolate with strawberries mixed into it. I think that would probably be like... the best ice cream ever." He asked as he put his hands on another freshling's shoulder for support as he balanced on the tips on his hooves to try and gain an inch or two of extra height. Maybe it would help him see the flavors better. "It's really hard to choose, but I think all of them would be good. But maybe that makes it even harder! Oh. My name's Kaipo, by the way, but you can call me Kai if you want to!"

Vega nodded, listening to the other as he spoke. "Cinnamon is a little spicy, but also kind of sweet. It's surprising if you aren't expecting it." He nodded sagely. Well, it was clear they weren't going to see over the other kid's heads, so Vega looked at his new companion instead. "Kaipo, huh? Nice to meet you! I'm Vega. Hey hey! What if we each got a different flavor, but shared? Then we could each have TWO icecreams?" It was total genius, right?

Kaipo listened to the description of the cinnamon ice cream. He wasn't sure about spicy ice cream, that sounded a little strange to him. Maybe it was one of those things that you just had to try and wasn't as weird it seemed. He nodded in thought. Some other time, perhaps. "Nice to meet you too! What house are you in? What's your favorite animal? I like octopus and crockabees!" He blinked as he took in the other kirin's suggestion, a small gasp escaping him. "That. Is amazing!" He bounced in excitement, his hooves clopping softly on the floor. "Maybe one of the best suggestions ever! You're very smart."

"I'm in Arkham." He replied happily. When Kaipo started hopping excitedly, Vega smiled widely. "I am pretty smart." He was practically beaming. But, a favorite animal? "Animals? I like all of them! Hey hey, what house are you in? Come on, tell me!"

"I'm in Arkham too! That's super neat. I wonder if everyone here is or if we're just lucky like that." Kaipo exclaimed joyously. He'd prefer to think of them as lucky. It was just a lot more interesting that way. He giggled, bouncing up and down. Today was turning out to be pretty neat! "But what kind of ice creams are we gonna get? We should probably pick a couple before it's our turn, don't you think?" He asked, cupping a hand around his chin. Picking two would be considerably easier than just picking one, but it would still be hard. "I wonder if we can get closer to see." Vega had already proven to have smart ideas, so maybe he had a good one about this too. Obnoxious Obscurity I wasn't aware of that particular rule, no. Thanks! Though we'll probably have more then the minimum number of posts, and I'll do better. Vega's mouth formed into an "o" shape when Kaipo said he was in Arkham too. "Really? What do you like to do? Do you like painting pictures or clay or what?" His tail twitched a little in excitement, ice cream forgotten for a moment until someone told them the line was moving. "Oh!" They were closer now. "Hey, I can see some of the flavors. They have some kind of rainbow something. What does a rainbow taste like?" He questioned his new friend. That sounded interesting, but "OH! They have raspberry ice cream! I think I have to get that. It's maybe my favorite. But maybe if there's something new that I've never had, maybe that instead. Like the rainbow thing, whatever that is."

"Ummm." Kaipo thought about it. "I like to do a lot of things. I like singing and dancing and stuff like that. Clay and pictures and stuff are fun too, but I think I like singing and dancing stuff more. What about you? What kind of things do you like to do?" He asked Vega in return. At the mention that the other could now see the ice cream, he swiveled to look at them. There were so many! "I don't know what a rainbow tastes like. Maybe it would be fun to find out?" That sounded like a good choice for one of their flavors. Now for the other. Vega seemed to want the raspberry. Kaipo was half hoping for chocolate but raspberry wasn't bad. Glancing up he saw jars with topics and had a sudden idea. "Do you think that raspberry ice cream would go good with chocolate sprinkles?"Lural Yeah, since this is my fifth post, we'll have other minimum for sure. xD You also get RP points for posts over 100 words (1 point for every five posts) and you can turn them in for things like familiars or semi customs. ^^

"Yeah! Raspberry goes really well with chocolate anything. Sprinkles, syrup, hot fudge." He nodded eagerly. "But not so great with caramel sauce. I was really sad to discover that." He lamented and scrunched his face up a little at the memory. "At school I really like drawing pretty clothes. I have a plush toy that I've made a few little outfits for." He wasn't sure if he should feel sheepish about that or not. Some people might think it wear that he was making doll clothes. "When I can draw better, and when I can use big scissors, I want to make big people clothes too." The line moved again, and suddenly, Vega grabbed Kaipo's arm and gasped. "THEY HAVE CHOCOLATE MARSHMALLOW ICE CREAM!" He was really excited and spoke maybe a little louder then intended. And it didn't have nuts! Nuts did not belong in ice cream. They belonged in cakes and cookies and pies! "I think I changed my mind, I think I want that!"

"That's pretty cool. Making clothes sounds like fun. When you get better and make big clothes, you gotta show me, okay? I'm sure you'll come up with a lot of neat things and maybe everyone will want to wear the clothes you make!" Kaipo smiled widely. Vega could probably do that stuff easy when he was older and would definitely be interested in seeing what kind of outfits he came up with. "I think I want to sing and dance and put on shows for people. So if you make me outfits and I put on the worlds most amazing play, like, ever, we'll be super famous and everyone will love us." He nodded. It seemed like perfect logical to him. He already knew that he was going to be a star, it only made sense for his new friend to do just as well too. "Chocolate marshmallow?" He gasped softly. "That sounds super good. I love chocolate. A lot. It's the best thing in the world! And marshmallows are good too so that just seems like it would make it even better. I agree, we should get that."

"You think that's cool?" Vega smiled broadly. He hadn't really told people about his desire to make clothes. He was afraid people might find it silly or laugh. "I'll totally show you anything I make, if that's what you really want. Of course my brother and sister will have to see them first. OH! Maybe I could make clothes or everyone and we can have a fashion show?" Now his mind was racing with ideas. "Are you any good at dancing and singing? I like singing too, but I don't know if I'm any good. I just sing for myself." But the idea of working with Kaipo was appealing. They had to talk about this more. But not right now. Now was ice cream time. "Yeah! I like chocolate too! I think I like fruits a little more, but yeah! Chocolate and marshmallows is just too hard to pass up. So what one will you get?"

"Yeah! It's really cool." Kaipo nodded enthusiastically. He didn't think that he could make clothes if he tried and it was really neat that his new friend could come up with ideas for them. "A fashion show sounds like so much fun! I could be a good model, I think." He grinned at the other kirin. "Yeah, I'm good. Or at least, I think I'm good that's all that really matters. I'm sure you're not bad, you just gotta believe that you are good." "What if we got one chocolate marshmallow one and one raspberry one?" He asked, partially thinking out loud, partially asking for the other's opinion. That would mean they got both the chocolate that Kaipo wanted and the fruit that Vega said he liked. It sounded like a good thing to him. Lural Sorry this is a million years late. xP

Obnoxious Obscurity This is also a million years later. "Yeah yeah! Let's get that." When it was their turn, and the pair gave their order, Vega was bouncing happily. When they received their ice cream, Vega was all too happy to march over to a table that wasn't sticky, and sat down. He swung his little hoofed legs while waiting for Kaipo to join him. "So how should we do this? I donno if I want to like, keep taking bites from each other's bowl... Do we want to scoop some of ours into each other's bowl?" He didn't want to get sick, that was for sure. But he didn't want to say that Kaipo would GET him sick. He was just being cautious.

After getting his cup of ice cream, Kaipo bounced happily behind Vega towards the table the other found for them to sit at. He smiled widely as he took a seat, happy and excited to dig into the sweet treat. He swung his hooves under the chair, barely managing not to wiggle in his seat. He listened as the other kirin spoke up about how to split the ice cream. He had a good point. It probably wasn't good to keep dipping into each other's bowls. Getting sick was not fun at all. "Yeah, we should do that. We should scoop or kind cut our ice cream in half with our spoons before he put them in our mouths." He scrunched up his nose in thought before he started using his spoon to portion out half of his bowl.
