"Wah, wahwahwah!"

"G-get back here, you little brat!"

Cadmus found himself in a bit of a predicament. It is true that he had stepped away from fights for the time being, but when he saw that white-haired lieutenant draining energy from an innocent civilian in an alleyway, he just had to step in. Unfortunately, either this lady was used to pain or something, because she wasn't phased after getting three barreling wave of cranberries from the little chibi. Without enough magic to continue their fight, Cadmus found himself on the run. Despite his speed, the lieutenant remained on his tail. He just couldn't escape her!

Sarabauite found herself in a bit of a predicament. Not only did that little annoyance interfere with the lieutenant's plans, he managed to get in the way of her last daily quota for the night. It'd taken the new recruit hours to collect a satisfactory amount of energy to the point she just wanted to go home and hit the hay. Unfortunately, it looked as though she'd have to put in a few more because of him. Being pummeled by cranberries and covered in the sticky-sweet residue didn't help either. So it was understandably so why Sarabauite was angry. She gave chase with relentless abandon; one way or another, she was going to teach that little chibi a lesson.

If she could catch him, that was.

"Get back here!" Sarabauite roared behind him.

This caused the chibi to clamor. "Nyeh!" he cried, skidding to a stop, pulling his bottom eyelid down, and blowing a raspberry.

This only seemed to anger the lieutenant more. Suddenly, Sarabauite divebombed the poor boy. Cadmus was too slow to react, causing him to get caught. Hauling him up by his sailor collar, the lieutenant tried to threaten him with her metal bookmark, but the chibi flailed like a fish out of water.

"Lemme go, lemme go!" Cadmus cried.

"A-as if!" Sarabauite shot back. "You just... You just ruined my night!"

Was it a normal part of changing sides to feel like you weren't quite sure who you were for a bit? All this business of changing identities. She hadn't actually powered up for a while. She did once recently for the fun of it. That turned into running into someone else who would help train her. Someone who was helping her do better with fighting. Turned out that was a good thing.

She happened to be out walking and meandering around town on her own. She was really just walking by places she used to spend time at before. She was lost in thoughts about herself. Her, her, her. A dangerous mix of selfishness and conceitedness were about to burn toxic, but she was pulled away from that inner monologue. The sound of someone yelling for someone else to 'get back here'.

She heard it. She stopped the path she was walking and started to head over and see what all that commotion was about. Sounded like some kids, but she figured she might as well see what it was all about. She was an adult.

The sight that flashed past though. She quickly started to jog after. Seeing the little kid in red; her eyes flashed. If there was one thing that motivated her to get into her knight gear; it was children. To her, this included anyone up to 14 years of age. They were so young. They had so much life ahead of them. How dare anyone sully and break their youth.

Castagnu dê Centu Cavaddi, Beautiful Branches of Venus Will Protect Us!

With a hand up in the air, a thick piece of wood materialized in her hand. Down her arm and around her body rippled her everyday clothes into her page attire. When she was changed, her fist clenched her bow. Sure. She didn't have arrows. She wasn't sure what she was gonna do with this as it were right now...

"I think you better put him down right now if you know what's good for you. You have three seconds."

Cadmus continued to beat arms to the air, but when he heard the page's voice, his fear sank and relief sprung forth. "H-help me, please!" he cried out, reaching out hands to her. "She won't let me go! Please!"

At the new Order energy signature that entered, the lieutenant frowned, and tightened her grip on Cadmus's sailor collar. Her eyes thinned as she took in the page and the area around her; seeking out the best routes for dodging and/or escape, places where the dark limited vision, other items that could be used as weapons.

She didn't like to fight, but it looked like she had no choice here. "W-why should I?" Sarabauite said, eyebrows quirking up. At this, she pressed her metal bookmark to Cadmus's neck, sending such a shiver down his spine he croaked quiet. "Take... Take another step and I won't think twice about hurting him."

Cavaddi hated fighting too. In her heart, she wasn't really much for Order or very against the Negaverse. For her right then, she was for that little kid. It sickened her when there were reports of so many young people who were told as abducted in the city. Was this human trafficking? No. Now that she had started serving as a knight; what little time she spent doing patrols or being in town powered up at all. Her heart figured it there were more answers.

Still, this sleeping mother bear nature in her started to awake itself at the cries of this kid. She was in the middle of about to make a charge on that lieutenant when she saw the metal bookmark go to his throat.

"Whoa whoa.. Just wait there... Don't you see what you're doing? He's just a little boy! Do you really want to have his blood on your hands? Do you want to be known as a child killer? Really? I'm sure whatever you were on about isn't worth that!"

Her hands moved from holding her bow in the middle to holding it lower on the end. It went from holding it like a bow to holding it like a bat. She watched the eyes of the lieutenant trying to see whatever else was being looked at. Then, her own eyes looking into the boy's.

"If you put him down, I won't hurt you." That was a lie. The moment she knew the boy wouldn't be hurt; she was gonna hit her real good with her nice wooden bow. A good piece of wood is always worth a hefty wack or two.

Sarabauite tilted her head, not at all phased by Cavaddi's implications, her pleading. Then, creepily next, she smiled. And though it was out of place, it wasn't one of malice or frustration. In fact, it seemed kiddish, as if the page made a mundane joke.

"T-to be frank, it doesn't bother me at all," she said. "Hurting him, hurting you... It's akin to scratching an itch. To me, you're simply nuisances." She looked at the shivering chibi still in hand and back to Cavaddi. "But if you want him so much, here."

With all of the strength in the arm holding the young boy up, Sarabauite pitched him off the roof she stood on as if flicking away a fleck of paper. Cadmus yelped as he scrambled to catch the rain gutter, and failed.

"Go get him."

"Hurting him, hurting you... " b***h! Cavaddi scowled hard; her beautiful features marring with anger. How dare that psycho play so with the lives of other people. This was what Cavaddi felt like was her only real reason to bother to power up at all. There were people like this. Sadistic bastards who wanted to have a lark at the expense of others. While Cavaddi might not have had much room to speak as someone who had done more than her share of taking opportunities at other peoples' expense. She felt impassioned about the child.

Children were precious. Life was short. So short. So tragically short. Though at the sound of
'here'; Cavaddi launched in a big leap. She didn't even have to think about it. She was moving as quickly as she could grabbing the boy. She scooped him up in one arm while trying to rejump to someplace nearby. The closest she could get was a fire escape. She set him down there.

"You stay right here till I'm done. You hear me? Don't you go near her."

Really now. She wasn't his mother, but that wasn't stopping her from telling him like she was.

Then her eyes went back to that girl. Ok. It was beat down time. Time to teach someone that you shouldn't handle children like this. A tight squeeze around the bow and a leap up to that roof.

"Well, let's see how nuisance I can be." A dash forward from Cavaddi with a swing from the right with both hands on the lower end of the bow swinging like a baseball bat.

Cadmus felt his chest sink as gravity took him, but suddenly, he was bereft of a certainly deadly fall when Cavaddi saved him. A shiver passed through him, but when she told him to stay, he protested.

"Y-y-you can't go back! She'll hurt you, too! She'll—"

It seemed his words lingered off, unheard. Wrapping his arms across his chest, he did as he was told and remained on the fire escape; silently praying the battle worked out in the page's victory.

Sarabauite wasn't fast enough to dodge the swing of the bow, so she took the brunt of it with her arm to protect her head. The crack of it surged pain to the bone and, for a second, she even thought she fractured her limb. Ignoring the static and throb of pain from the point of contact, the lieutenant tried to use the close proximity of the other to return an attack in full. She slashed and jabbed with her bookmark, hoping to draw blood.

Cavaddi had a grim and almost devilish grin of satisfaction. It was a bit of a dark expression. She felt pretty proud of herself for landing that good of a hit, but that feeling was short lived. Only moments later, she felt the bookmark slice the sleeve on her bolero. Then, she felt the metal p***k her skin, and then she eyes peeked her shoulder. There was a little blood bubbling up.

Her dark grin turned into a rageful thin press of her lips. Blood! This girl made her bleed. How dare she... mar Cavaddi's beautiful creamy skin. Cavaddi hoped she could wrap this up soon. She wanted to treat the wound, so it wouldn't turn into a scar.

In a step, Cavaddi turned to her side and took another swing with her bow and slung it in towards the lieutenant's stomach.

"The last blow was for the boy. This is for making me bleed. HOW DARE YOU!"

Sarabauite just barely managed to intercept the bow giving her a clean swing to the stomach. Her attempt wasn't fully successful; she still got the wind blown out of her, but not to the extent that, had she been a second slower, the lieutenant was positive she would've been to the ground gasping for breath. Her bookmark left a small cleft on the surface of the weapon when she jumped back.

Nudging her glasses higher up on the bridge of her nose, she said, "How... How dare you for instigating a matter that had nothing to do with you." Her eyes narrowed. "Y-you can't keep vigil on him forever. I would've let him go. I would've. Not anymore. If I see him again, he won't be safe and you're to blame. Make sure that sticks in your head."

Then, with what little dignity she had left, Sarabauite tried to flee by jumping to the next rooftop.
