Ridiculous Creatures Start: June 3rd (Friday) @ 7pm EST End: June 7th (Tuesday) @ 11PM EST
With Early Victorian Era Paleontology (or modern oddballs who don't know a lick about biology or paleontology but insist they are experts because they have photoshop *coughDavid Peters of pterosaur heresies imfamyCough*), sometimes recreations of prehistoric creatures get a little... Peculiar, sometimes going beyond implausible and right into the realm of impossibility. When you're working with Incomplete fossils or the Crushed impressions of fossils in the ground, sometimes you have no idea what the mind might create out of it and you end up with simply Ridiculous Creatures.
And that is exactly what we are here to do...

THE GOAL I have included EIGHT Fossils, Both crushed skeletons with impressions of what MAY be soft tissue (Or may just be photo errors or natural inclusions in the rock, since you can't really know what it is until you see the fossil in person and to insist you're right because you traced something subtle you saw in photoshop, Sai or MSpaint is childish.. But EXACTLY what we're going for here) and, in memory of the Iguanodons thumb acting as a horn on its nose in its earliest recreations, some stand alone fossil pieces.
It's your job to make up a creature based on what is available to you, doing the simplest of sketches, and a short description of the creature you created. For each fossil you transform into an actual critter, you get a ticket for one of our prizes, including chance for a.... A sort of Semi-Custom (You'll see what I mean)
THE RULES
Use only the Fossils Provided! You can only use Each fossil One time Post your fossils in separate posts! Fill out the form completely before entering (though fixing spelling/coding errors or adding more detail later is fine, just have a super basic outline to start with.) Images must be under 500x500 pixels. Otherwise Link to it with a thumbnail

SPECIES NICKNAME: Kiwi raptor What part of body is Available fossil from(for Partial Fossils): DIET Insectivore
Short Bio of Species The Kiwiornithoraptor is a small bird like reptile with a long neck, stubby-flightless wings and long legs. The bulk of it's body is covered in scales while the head, wings and tail have feathers on them. It survives by eating insects it finds while running around in the under bush trying not to get stepped on by any of the larger dinosaurs.
SPECIES NICKNAME: Leaping Lizards What part of body is Available fossil from(for Partial Fossils): DIETpiscivore/insectivore
Short Bio of Species The Leapatorous is an aquatic type reptile that has frog like back legs and webbed clawed front "arms". It has a long, whip like tail that allows it to steer itself through water. Its whole body is scaled minus it's webbed feet. It survives mainly off of fish but will eat the occasional insect or two if it can catch it.
SPECIES NICKNAME: Archer What part of body is Available fossil from(for Partial Fossils): DIET Carnivore/insectivore
Short Bio of Species The Archeothermodon is a fur covered bird of sorts. The bulk of it's body is fur covered minus it's wings and the single arm that comes out it's back that is useful for holding things. It can fly as well as run on all four legs though it mainly sticks to heights as it's a rather small creature.
SPECIES NICKNAME: Spiny Swimmer What part of body is Available fossil from(for Partial Fossils): DIET Omnivore/piscivore/insectivore
Short Bio of Species The acanthoneustes is a water based reptile that is encased by a large shell with a spike on the back and right before the main head opening. Now whether or not it's got four heads or the shell is accommodated to four individual acanthoneustes, we aren't sure yet. It survives by eating plants and insects but will eat the occasional fish if it can catch one.
SPECIES NICKNAME: Dwarf Feather What part of body is Available fossil from(for Partial Fossils): DIET insectivore
Short Bio of Species The nanopteron is by far the oddest of creations and probably more rare than the dodo bird. It's got a triangular shaped head that's mostly bone with some fur like feathers sticking off it and a body with no arms or wing, just a pair of thin legs. While they may look useless they can carry the form of this odd little bird pretty fast and they can help it climb, rather awkwardly up trees. It survives by eating insects as that's the only thing it can really catch.
SPECIES NICKNAME: Sea Crocodile What part of body is Available fossil from(for Partial Fossils): The Jaw DIET Carnivore
Short Bio of Species The thallassosuchus is a sea dwelling crocodile that lives off of the carcass of other dinosaurs. It's jaw expands in an odd manner, the lower half expanding into two halves and spreading to the sides in order for it to swallow larger food better. It dwells in the shallow reaches where it can pull in unsuspecting prey.
SPECIES NAME:Striped Burrower Main Image: Fossil 7
SPECIES NICKNAME:Wooly Dirt Worm What part of body is Available fossil from(for Partial Fossils):jaw DIET Omnivore
Short Bio of Species The Striped Burrower is a docile and friendly creature mostly spending time underground sifting through dirt. Occasionally it will surface to lay in the sun and roll in the soft grasses. At times it will eat meat catching it like a constrictor, then drags it into small rocky spaces to crush its bones so it can eat it.
SPECIES NICKNAME: Digging Bird What part of body is Available fossil from(for Partial Fossils): Wing thumby thing, like fingernails or hooves. DIET Insectivore
Short Bio of Species The Fossioavem, more commonly known as the digging bird, was a creature that subsided primarily on insects. Its solid, serrated nails on its wings allowed it to dig into large insect colonies to allow better access for its sizeable beak. The females get as large as 18 inches whereas the males tend to be around 12 inches.
SPECIES NICKNAME: Woolly Weasel What part of body is Available fossil from(for Partial Fossils): Jaw (under fur so not on display) DIET Omnivore
Short Bio of Species The Woolly Weasel is a burrowing animal that is nocturnal and partially blind. It uses the thick whiskers growing from its lower jaw to navigate the tunnels in which it lives. They also aid in picking up vibrations. It has a sharp sense of smell and is an opportunistic scavenger eating anything it can find from insects and flesh, to seeds and berries.
SPECIES NICKNAME: Bully'orex What part of body is Available fossil from(for Partial Fossils): Jaw DIET Carnivore
Short Bio of Species The Chadersaurous is a most interesting species. It appears to have hated hunting for it's own food, mates, or territory. Instead it prided it's self on battling for everything. The males as picture were extremely bulky weighing in at a amazing 3 tons! They were built like tanks with thick pads of scales covering their shoulders to protect from hard hitting head butts in battle. Flashy feathers and spikes were used to attract and steal the females from other males. The brighter and longer their feathers, the more females they could keep in their harem.
SPECIES NICKNAME: Longed neck tree sqawker What part of body is Available fossil from(for Partial Fossils): Neck and head DIET Omnivore
Short Bio of Species Hipptoburamon Colvius is a creature that lives high in the tree tops. There it can use it's heavy head as a hammer to knock down fruit, or wrap it's long neck around branches so it can hang and use it's arms to forage for food. Their heads never stopped growing making them extremely top heavy. Thus past the age of five it was rare for one of these creatures to live since they would often fall out of their homes into waiting jaws below.
