Looking at Narcissus you wouldn't think you'd be dealing with a manipulative spawn of the devil, or in this case the spawn of Lilith, more commonly known as Mother or Guinevere. He was quite the sweet talker when he wanted to be, just like his mamma was and he couldn't be more happy about it. Though his siblings and he were far less destructive as she. He wasn't about killing, at least other soquili that is. He was fine killing small rodents now and again, but he found keeping others alive was more rewarding and beneficial than killing them off. Though his mother seemed to want them to kill as well, so around her it was a must do, but when he wasn't he liked to keep them alive and in his 'care' for as long as necessary. It's not like he wasn't doing them an injustice, if anything he was doing the opposite! If his mother were to end up with them then they would surely wind up dead. At least while he was 'caring' for them they were safe from death. That's how he liked to look at it anyway. And most of the time he didn't have to keep them captive, at least unless his cover was blown, then he had to resort to restraints and such things. It wasn't really what he liked to do, but when it came down to it sometimes it was necessary.
Walking calmly through the woods his ears flicked slightly and his tail flicked back and forth as he sought out someone else to manipulate and bend to his will. Or perhaps find someone who was willing to go in cahoots with him, that would be much more desirable. He needed a partner in crime, not that his siblings weren't good enough for the part. He just wanted someone outside of family to share his spoils with. As his thoughts trailed his eyes settled upon a flash of white in the distance ahead. This sparked his curiosity a great deal. He wondered who or what it could be. His tail twitched behind him excitedly at the prospect of a potential partner or a possible mark and he moved onward, cautiously.
He was downwind and that gave him a bit of an advantage, but the smell was unfamiliar to him. Which was a good start in his mind, perhaps it was his lucky day and he'd find a companion of sorts to help him carry out his plans! With a small smile he came closer to where he was certain he had spotted the movement. Cautiously poking his head through some of the bushes he spotted a white and blue foal not too far away. He was a tad bit bigger than Narc was, but that didn't really matter to him. What he found most curious was his large fluffy tail and pawed feet. The feet were what captivated him the most. The damage someone could do with feet like that! It made him slightly envious, but he wasn't going to let it show. It seemed however that he was found out for the foal turned and Narc was just even more thrilled at what he had stumbled across.
Removing himself from his concealment the rest of the way he looked the foal over briefly once more before introducing himself. "Hello, I'm Narcissus Mormont. What is your name?" He said putting on his show of mannerisms until he got a better feel for the foal.

Ashi had been doing some hunting and had tried to catch a pheasant but had snapped a twig on his approach and it flew off quickly despite his lunge to catch it. His teeth caught nothing but air and he grumbled to himself as he gazed at it's disappearing form. He had found he was rather good at fishing so he'd likely try that later if his paws came up empty for much longer today. It was still early though so he wasn't too concerned about finding food. Though he would like to have enough to bring back to his brother as well. He didn't doubt his abilities to hunt by any means, he just wanted to bring him back some since he was out hunting already anyway. It saved time and used less effort, though he was certain if his brother was here with him right now he'd be able to bring down something much larger, like a stag perhaps. He wasn't too keen on trying to take one of those down solo, at least not yet anyway.
The sound of moving bushes caused his ears to twitch and his head to snap towards the location not too far behind him. A tan, horned head was sticking through them staring at him. He turned to face the foal as he removed himself from his place of concealment and introduced himself. He was curious about his scaled neck and back for it looked like it was a nice protection against an attack. Not that Ashi was planning on attacking him or anything. He just found it useful. The horn he found peculiar and his tail was like a whip with a puff of fur at the end. He wasn't at all like the winged filly he had met the other day. He was beginning to realize there were many more breeds than he could have ever thought to imagine. After all, he had thought everyone would look like him and his brother, however he was being proven wrong for a second time it would seem.
"I go by Ashitaka. Why were you sneaking around in the bushes?" He asked, red gaze locked onto the smaller foal. Their size difference wasn't much but at the same time it was. Ashi had a lot more muscle and maybe an inch or two in height, but Narcissus had that scaly protection that added an illusion that he was somewhat larger than he was. Honestly Ashi was mostly fur, though he did have some lean muscle. Being fluffy had it's perks it would seem. Though Narcissus didn't seem intimidated by him at all, which was good. He really wasn't wanting to scare anyone away, at least not yet.

Ashitaka? That had an interesting ring to it, or so he thought anyway. It was easy enough to say but also sounded different than the usual name he had heard someone called. He liked it. He watched as Ashitaka stared at him, judging him in a way and he almost wanted to puff up and have a one on one with him just to see who indeed was the better match. The key word is almost here. He didn't want to start something he wasn't going to finish and despite the fact he had some decent coverage on his back, a horn to slash with and sharp hooves to kick with Ashitaka's fangs and claws seemed a bit more damage inflicting. "I wasn't sneaking." He said trying to keep any defensive tones from his voice. Feigning innocent he soften his voice just a tad. "I had heard something over here and was poking my head through to see what it was, when I saw you." It was the truth, for the most part.
He wondered what he was doing over this close to his families lands. He wasn't on them by any means, but he wasn't too far off. "What were you doing? If you don't mind me asking." He remained polite and formal as he spoke to the pawed foal, his amber gaze keeping a careful watch on his movements as well. Looking around briefly he didn't spot anything of too much interest so he was quite curious what Ashitaka would have to say. Though if he were to ask the same of him he wasn't exactly sure how he'd answer him. Coming up with ideas for a response in case the question was asked his way he figured he'd find out if the other was alone or if he should be expecting company. That answer alone would make all the difference. "Are you with anyone? It can be a little dangerous out here by yourself if you don't know the area." He said throwing some extra tidbits in there so as to keep Ashitaka from re-using the same question on him.
He honestly wanted to make sure no one else was going to make an appearance and make his plans go to hell. Working one on one was the best because he was able to judge the potential outcomes should things go south, when two were involved it almost always meant he had to be precise and keep his guard up in case they caught on to him and ganged up. He hadn't had that happen yet, but he had it in his list of possible outcomes should he run into more than one individual while he was out on his little strolls.

Ashi listened to the males words and watched him curiously. "I was just out." He said simply. This colt sure was curious, though so was he. "No, it's just me.. What about you? Are you out here with anyone. Since it's so dangerous being out alone and all?" He said in return.

Narc didn't have to worry about an ambush or anything at least and this was a little relieving. Not that he was going to try anything. The paws on the male were quite intimidating and he really didn't want to be on the receiving end of them. "I'm out here alone as well, but I know the area pretty well so I know it's safe." He said flicking his tail behind him as he watched the colt curiously. "You're very curious." He said hoping to get him to open up a little.

"I guess that would make sense. Though Are you sure you know this area well?" He asked him. He had never seen him in the area before so he wasn't sure he believed him but he wanted to see where this was going. He could understand why he was curious to others, the paws, ears and tail. Kinda threw others for a loop. "I get that a lot. You don't seem to off put by my appearance though." He said flicking his tail behind him as he watched the other. "Is there any particular reason you're out and about. Or was it just for a walk?" Not that it really mattered to him, he was still curious.

He was curious as to why he would ask that question and he thought about it for a second and gave a shrug of his shoulders. "I would say I know it pretty well." He didn't say anything more than that. He figured if it was too big of an issue it would be brought up again. "I guess it takes a lot for me to be spooked." He said flicking his ears slightly as he glanced around for a moment and then returned his gaze towards Ashi.
"I'm just out and about. I wouldn't say I was out walking but I wouldn't say I was exploring either." He said trying to think of how best to say what it was he was doing. "I guess you could say I'm searching?" Searching would be the best way to explain what he was doing since he was trying to recruit others to join his little, band, cause, group? He wasn't sure what he would call it exactly

His massive ears twitched atop his head as he male spoke and he was curious. The way the male spoke it wasn't exactly..... forthcoming. It was as if he liked to dance around what he was meaning. He shook his head slightly and figured he might be calling this little meeting to a close shortly. While it was nice to see another his age there was something about this colt that made his tail bristle. "Searching is something we all find ourselves doing at some point." He stated rather simply. Pawing the ground slightly he gave the male another once over. "Well Narcissus. I do believe that I have to get going. As much fun as this is I shall have to call this to a close." He gave a small tip of his head. WC: 135

While Narc wanted the other to stay so he could decide more on a course of action he wasn't about to pressure him, not with those paws. He knew well enough that the male, despite his calm demeanor, could likely rip him open within seconds if he wasn't careful. It was a pity, he really wanted to add this male to his collection. He had an appreciation for pretty things and the male struck him as pretty. Despite his young age he knew what he wanted when he saw it. "That is a shame. Perhaps we shall run into one another again sometime." He threw out there. It was wasted breath most likely but still, he wanted another go at the male to see if he could at least come to a conclusion about him. WC: 135

Indeed, what a pity. "Perhaps we shall." Though he doubted it. The chances of the two of them running into one another again would be slim, if not near impossible. Though there was still a small fraction of a chance. But with how often he traveled he doubted it would happen. He wasn't really going to worry himself about it anyway. "Take care. You never know what lurks in the shadows out here." He said as he turned and walked away from him. He had yet to decide if he had said it to him out of warning or if he was calling him on his facade. Either way it had been spoken and he turned and left the male standing there, and he didn't look back. WC: 127

Despite the fact Ashi wasn't going anywhere with him he felt as though the encounter had been an overall success. He had left it without being injured so that was always a plus in his book. Still, he couldn't help but wonder how things could have gone if he'd just called him on his bluffs. Watch as he walked away his voice called out and a wicked smile formed upon Narcs lips as he let out a small chuckle. So he had known after all. Clever wolf indeed. Though it would appear he had done right to not try anything against the other colt. He needed to keep himself from being marred or disfigured in any way. His looks were the best thing he had when it came to throwing up his disguises. "Indeed we do not." he called out in response and turned and headed towards nowhere in particular. WC: 150
