To those who don’t really know Lafayette, he’s seems like a pretty decent if not simple seeming guy. He’s generally friendly and helpful, especially if something requires maintenance work and he thinks he can fix it. He tends to be blunt about things which gives him problems from time to time depending.
On a more personal level though, he’s more of a moral grey character. He will do what’s necessary to act in favor of his own personal beliefs and doesn’t really seem concerned about what measures he has to take to achieve them. He also takes his work seriously when he has some to do.

Lafayette was born in Anville Town, in the Unova region. His father was a maintenance worker for the rail ways for the Battle Subway while his mother was a Kalos native who had moved to Anville to work on the Battle Subway as a stewardess. Lafayette’s life was for the most part, very uneventful; he’d help with the maintenance on the rail ways or the local homes and facilities in the town, or help his mother on the Battle Subway in making sure the trainers were taken care of during their battles.
Eventually when he was 16, members of Team Plasma came to his town and after giving a rally, he propositioned a member of the group to join them and make a change in the world, especially if it helped pokemon. A few years of actively serving Team Plasma though came to a halt after a conflict in Lafayette’s ideals and actions in comparison to the teams, and so he promptly left the team. Before he could properly figure out whether to return home or go somewhere else, a strange fellow by the name of Juliean found him out and propositioned that he work for him instead. The terms were to the young man’s liking, and so for the past year he’s been working with the man, assisting him in his research effort, though he admittedly knows very little about what he’s researching or why.
