WELCOME TO ROUND TWO!
Aurostibite and Xenotime have congratulated you upon making it to round two of the tournament! The rules this round are the same as the last!
OOC RULES:
- You have 72 hours to complete the battle! If you are unable to do so, or something happens that prevents things or slows you down, you can just roll the dice without adding in RP to determine the outcome. However, please do your best to RP out the battle, this option is only for those situations where it becomes necessary to do so.
- Dice rolling is mandatory! I know it can be frustrating but this keeps everything fair and even.
- Anyone is free to pop into a battle RP, they are open to spectators, whether you are participating in the tournament or not! Any Negaverse agent or Corrupt or Corrupt Cat is free to view the battles, regardless of whether or not they were in signups.
- If you have any questions, please contact either Beejoux or kuropeco privately through AIM or PM!
THE MECHANICS
Each person roll 1d20 in their first post! The person with the higher number is the first to attack!
Lieutenant / Basics - 20 HP / 1d8-2 attack (a 0 is a miss)
Captain / Super - 30 HP / 1d10-2 attack (a 0 is a miss)
General / Eternal - 40 HP / 1d12-2 attack (a 0 is a miss)
( how it works: roll the dice - if you get a 4, subtract 2 = your attack is 2! and so on and so forth. If you get a 6, subtract 2 = your attack is 4! )
Roll dice -> RP out attack -> wait for opponent to attack back -> roll dice again until someone's HP is depleted first!
The person with HP remaining after someone gets to 0 is the winner!

He'd taken a few minutes just to breathe, found himself some water to drink, and then spent all the rest of his break time trying not to think about the bruises he was inevitably going to have, thanks to Idrialite's musket. His beautiful skin was going to be an ugly mottled brown in places, which was unappealing.
And so, really, was losing. He had to win the second round, not just for his general, but for himself, to show that he was special, that he was better than they were, that he was overall the right choice for the Negaverse in the first place.
Annabergite climbed into the ring and smiled winningly at his next opponent, flipping his hair in the process.
"Hello, handsome," he preened. "Fancy a fight?"

Reinerite had been a challenging opponent, so he was certain that this next fight would not be any easier. He stepped into the ring to take a good look at the man before him. He looked put together well enough, but seemed just as inexperienced as Bloodstone was.
Or perhaps there was more than met the eye.
He didn’t respond to the greeting with anything other than putting his fists up in preparation for the fight. Bloodstone wasn’t the type to back down easily, if at all.

Annabergite waited politely for a response, and when one was not given, pouted a little, his cheeks flushing a delicate shade of pink that was mostly just a result of indignation. He should have been praised for his abilities, or his appearance, after all.
"Well," he said primly, "If you don't want to talk, that's fine, I'll just have to communicate better in other ways."
And with that, he darted forward and kicked the tip of his boot towards Bloodstone's shin.

The other man actually pouted. Pouted. At which Bloodstone just stared in confusion. They were there for a fight, not to have a conversation. They needed to focus on what was going on around them.
Of course, talking didn’t seem to faze the other at all, since he was quick to move forward and land a powerful kick to Bloodstone’s shin. Strong enough for him to actually let out a surprised yelp and stumble backwards. He didn’t even have a chance to try and counter the attack with his own.

He had to remember what the others had called to him, had told him about concentrating; and to remember what he was doing there in the first place. The tournament was a prime opportunity for Annabergite to prove his worth, and he was certainly going to do that.
The first kick had been successful, and he had to resist the very strong urge to let out a hah, instead hastily trying to throw a punch this time at the man's shoulder.

Bloodstone: 9/20
Damage: 3
Bloodstone was still smarting from the kick to his shin when the other Lieutenant threw a punch. Still seeing stars from being kicked in the shin, Bloodstone did his best to avoid being punched in the shoulder, but failed and stumbled back.
“You’re a strong fighter,” he found himself saying in surprise, despite his usual silent demeanor. There was only so much he could do to defend himself against this guy. Maybe it was because he was taking this fight way too seriously.
He tried a punch next, hoping to at least do a little bit of damage.

[Adamantine - Corrupt Senshi]
Adamantine had no idea what drew her down into the negaspace besides that she knew some of her teammates were competing in a tournament of sorts. She hadn't found a chance to find Tourmaline or Dia but instead rested against a wall to watch a more uh...colorful lieutenant against another.
Pale blue eyes soaked in their fighting styles, as she watched them attack each other. They were good, in that perhaps superhuman abilities made them so, but she didn't understand their small weapons.
Were they toys?

He was doing - to his shock - remarkably well. Annabergite had not expected it, especially considering the serious nature of the man he was up against. But maybe his own dormant abilities were allowing him to do better than he'd thought; yes, that was it. He was good at this, he was definitely good at this.
Annabergite preened under the praise, practically sparkling.
"I am, aren't I?" he said, sounding delighted - and then a second later, sounding winded, because Bloodstone's punch had landed against his side. Annabergite let out a squawk of surprise and pain, staggering, and caught a glimpse of a pretty senshi watching them.
Now he REALLY had to impress.

So this Lieutenant, Annabergite or so he’d been told, was distracted by talking. That was good to know. Even though his punch landed against the other’s side, it was only enough to have him reeling back a bit. Not enough to cause any major damage.
Bloodstone moved to throw another punch, hoping to repeat the process.
“I’m impressed that you would risk bruises and other injuries,” he commented. “You seem much more put together than a lot of officers I’ve seen.”

Annabergite ate up the compliments the way he would normally eat up really delicious cake. He preened under them, practically fawned at Bloodstone because of them, waving a modest hand that really wasn't actually modest at all.
"Such a charmer," he cooed, even as he swung a leg out and tried to kick the lieutenant again. "Thank you, I do try, you know."

The fight didn’t go on much longer. Even with Annabergite’s flippant attitude, he was a competent fighter, or maybe he was just lucky. Either way, all it took was several more kicks and punches from both of them before Bloodstone was holding up his hands in defeat. He knew when he had been bested, and he wasn’t going to lose his cool trying to out punch someone who was just as skilled as he was (or just that lucky).
“Good match,” he said as he inspected his knuckles for any bad bruises. He would probably have to hold off on going out to fight for a while, but that was fine. He was going to be on call at the hospital for the next several days, anyway. Best to take the time to heal, anyway.
“Perhaps we’ll be able to spar again someday,” he said as he nodded his head to his opponent. Next time, Bloodstone was going to be sure he didn’t lose.

"Congratulations," he said, "The third round will begin shortly."
