Leaving her small pack behind to fend for itself for the time being, Kallan loped along the beach in the northern part of her territory. So much flotsam had washed ashore from the recent storm, littering the beach and making navigation among them no easy task. Here and there, she saw the remains of marine life and made a mental note to bring back one of them to the den-site and send the hunters out to gather the rest. Sea birds scattered at her approach, only to return to their scavenging once she passed through. The ocean always had an effect on her, calling to her even in her sleep. So here she was, staring at each tidal pool she came across with fascination. I wonder what life is like under the waves...

Ane laid there floating on the surface of the water, staring at the sky. What was it like to have a family? A pack? She's been alone since she could remember. She was told by a stranger that her mother was killed trying to protect her, her father never having been in the picture. Sighing, Ane swam back towards the shore where she had a small hiding spot she slept in under a log next to a tide pool. Once her feet touched dry land, she shook herself dry and looked around. That's when she caught it. A scent. And unfamiliar scent. Another wolf!? Whimpering, Ane dove for her hiding spot and buried herself as deep as she could. She laid there waiting, waiting for the stranger to pass.

Enthralled as she was by the tiny worlds within each tidal pool, Kallan caught a flash of movement out of the corner of her eye. It was pink... bright pink. No way could it belong to one of the ever-present swarms of sea birds who voiced their displeasure at her presence. Too small to be a threat... Cautiously, curiously, she padded slowly over to where she'd last seen the splash of color. There, untouched by the waves trying to reclaim the land, were tiny paw prints in the sand leading to... an impressive log high above the tide line. A new scent wafted to her nose, mingling with the tang of saltwater. "Hello..? Are you alright in there..?" She called out, gently, keeping her distance so as to not terrify the unknown Varscythe further.

Whimpering, Ane crawled back as far as she could in her hiding spot and waited for the other wolf to disappear. She waited and waited until she finally thought it was safe and stuck her head out. Ane whined when she noticed the wolf still standing there, waiting as well.

Oh, you poor thing.. Kal thought, eyes casting about for the nearest washed-up dead fish. Maybe if I bring food to the little one... There, not far from where the pup lay hidden, lay the freshly washed-up remains of a hefty ocean predator. Slightly extending her wings for balance as she ran, she soon reached its carcass. With a quick sniff to make sure it was still good, she sank her teeth into its tail fin and dragged it back to the makeshift den the pup had taken up residence in. "I'm sure you're hungry. I have yet to meet a pup who isn't." Kal grinned, sitting further away than before. She had no desire to spook the coral-hued one any further.
