First ContactFive Months AgoGwen nearly screamed in excitement when she heard that familiar radio voice on the line. "Oh! Hi Wendy! Long time listener here, wanted to tell you about the spooky things happening at the local high school. It's a real thriller." Interally, Gwen giggled. She was so clever.

First ContactWendy grinned on her end and you could hear it in her voice, "Alright new listener. You have a name?" She would accept real names, nick names, or clever psuedonyms. "I don't remember the high school being haunted while I went there, though I left a sandwich in my locker which could have taken some mutated form to wreak havoc... And Mrs. Jenkins was always pretty spooky..." There was murmuring off mic, "Oh s**t she's dead?" Wendy said softer, "WELL Rest in Peace Mrs. Jenkins."

First Contact"You can call me the Gwenvestigator," Gwen chirped, and at that she did giggle a little bit, unable to pull her phone away in time. "Ahem. But yes, there's definitely strange activity around unused locker 274, and there are reports of it opening on its own, as well as the sound of voices coming from within." Her voice held appropriate gravity, and there was the audible sound of papers shuffling. "I think there might be a connection to one motor-vehicle incident in 1973, but research is still ongoing." "I don't think it's Mrs. Jenkins," she offered apologetically, "but as a practitioner of science I'm not willing to rule anything out just yet. It all takes due process." A pause, and then a laugh. "But you already know that, silly me."

First Contact"Alright, Gweeennnvestigator," There was a particular drag to the pronunciation, "What are your plans? Are you staking out the locker? Photos? EMF readings?" Wendy loved this s**t. "What about rumors that the boiler room has the ghost of the old caretaker??" Which had been floating around forever.

First Contact"There's an app on my phone that does EMF readings, but there's only so far that goes towards proving anything," Gwen replied, a shrug in her voice. "It's been difficult to get information about the minors involved in the accident, but if I can find anything I'll use the personal info to initiate contact after school." "The boiler room is old hat," she said off-hand. "Nothing more than the general populace being afraid of something creaky in the dark." It would be in her assessment for her to say that the rumor was too mainstream, but then again, admitting something was mainstream was also too mainstream.

first contactWendy chuckled at the 'old hat' comment. She was, definitely, old compared to this high school student that's for sure. Please don't remind her!!! "Well thanks Gwenvestigator. We've got more callers but keep us up to date on your findings and feel free to tag us on instagram or facebook if you find something worth sharing!!"

the fog"Alright listeners- It happened. The End is Coming! Or I guess more appropriately we're to say 'IT WALKS'." Wendy laughed a bit, obviously referring to the fog and rain that had blanketed the town not long before. "The police say performance art gone wrong.. Others say other things. And what about those creepy cards?" Wendy glanced at her panel, "And already the lines are lighting up. Alright caller, tell me what you got-" She clicked the button.

the fog"Wendy! Gwenvestigator here." Gwen's voice was breathless, but nevertheless excited. "I had to admit, I was a skeptic at first, on account of current graffiti culture, but the weather around town is very suspicious this time of the year." There was a pause. "I haven't seen any creepy cards, though, are they related?"

the fog"Well if you haven't it means the police did a thorough job." Wendy smiled to hear from Gwen again, "And hopefully you were safe at home. Yes- the cops gathered up all the cards but reports tell us that touching one was a real creepshow. Hopefully some more listeners had some on-hand experience." Wendy tilted her head, "But while I have you on Gwen- what's your theory? I know you've got one. Or in your expert opinion is this a sit-and-wait scenario?"

the fog Wendy Drummond had just called her an expert. On the air. Today was the best day ever. Gwen made no noise as she bounced excitedly, but finally regained her composure with a stiff cough. "A--ahem, well--I--I think there could certainly be connections to our--ah--Lovecraftian community, but it's still too soon to tell." She pinched a cheek to make sure she wasn't dreaming. On the air! "Nobody's come forward trying to take credit, as far as I know."

the fog"Oh no she said it!" A weird sound, like a spooky foghorn, "Lovecraftian." "Thanks Gwen, get back to us if you hear anything more. Or hey- if you get a hold of one of those spooky cards. The board is lighting up now-" Wendy paused, voice going off mic to the producer, "What's that?" She was back in a moment, "Alright everybody, our regular Lovecraftian tastemaker Cid is on the line-" He was of course the owner of the comic shop The 4th Wall, which featured a massive Cthulhu statue in one corner. Cid also happened to be Wendy's boyfriend (recently publicly confirmed on facebook and instagram). "Cid's gonna weigh on the fog and 'IT WALKS'... and dear sweet baby jesus I hope he goes straight to robed fishpeople-"
