--- "Hello, niece." the Hybrid said casually, twirling his blades in his hands, "How are you today? You'r first fight... aye?" he seemed all play and joviality, traits picked up from his long stay with Kaalnia in the cold wilds. But his eyes were flinty, assessing, cold. Just as Kaalnia had lightened him, the bandits had darkened him. Ilyra, he knew, was Briella's daughter. Kaalnia's sister's daughter. Thus, she was family, through affiliation and by Aisha. However, he would treat her as he did all foes - carefully. She was faster than he was, and she looked very adept with her bow. Her stance, too, was good. She had had her share of adventures, he knew. Had they made her stronger than he? He would have to see, and he would have to train. For now, he rolled his shoulders expectantly, until the call to battle began. "Let's go then!" he said, lunging forward, feeling Aisha's life force flow through him as it often had before, fierce and beautiful like pride itself. "Lets show these people what Alkidike can do!"

HP || 51 Attack || +13 Defense || +7 Magic || +1 Speed || +15 Needs 16+ to hit 15 + 13 = 27, hit (15 + 13) = 27/ 2 = 13.5 dmg She was both happy and sad to fight against a sister, or rather a brother, in her first fight. She knew him and she knew that with his blades he was a formidable foe. He was close with her aunt Kaa, and the stories that Kaa had brought back with her told of a man she should watch out for. But as long as she kept her distance she should be in a pretty good place. At least she hoped so. She was sad though, that meant that one of them would lose and there would be one less Alkidike in the tournament. "Yes let's make our mother proud, for no matter which of us moves on at least we will be able to represent the best of our race." she said proudly before notching an arrow and sending it his way.

"Agreed." He said, as he ducked under her arrow's flight and used it as an oppurtunity to charge in, giving her a quick swipe with his blades before dodging back. He needed to keep moving, keep her aiming and firing at where she thought he would be, not where he actually would be. But he also had to remember that she wasn't a bandit. He could feel it rising in him - the habits born of survival, of kill-or-be-killed against a savage foe. They fought to honor the goddess that had given them life, not to take that life away.

HP || 51 - 4 = 47 Attack || +13 Defense || +7 Magic || +1 Speed || +15 Needs 16+ to hit 10 + 13 = 23, hit (8 + 13) = 21 / 2 = 10.5 dmg As he dodged her arrows and came in for an attack Ilyra wasn't expecting it. Although she had seen her mother fighting with her swords this was different, he seemed faster then her mother. Or maybe it was because she was so use to seeing Briella fight and move and this was the first time she was able to see him. Either way she would have to be more careful from now on or she would lose the battle. With slight pain from where his blades had hit her she pulled back on her bow once again, hoping to actually hit him this time.

Votzhem uses Aggressive roots! (damage x 1.5 and +4 hp) 16+12= 28 HIT 14+12= 26/2 = 13*1.5 = 19.5 damage incoming! Votzhem regains 4 hp! --- Votzhem followed his battle-honed instincts, and ran where she least expected - into the path of her arrow. He ignored the gouge it gave him - pain could be dealt with later. For now, it gave him an opening. This had been a strategy he'd used against ranged bandits. Of course, one tried to avoid the arrows when possible, but sometimes... a little pain, meant a little gain. Once he was in range, he unleashed the furious attack that had so ravaged the marauders - the technique known as aggressive roots. Niece or no, he was not going easy on her. She'd said it herself - they fought for the glory of Aisha, and he intended to earn that honor...

In real fights she never had someone running towards her arrows! She was shocked, and when he attacked she didn't have time to do anything besides get hit. Still she took the beating, knowing very well she could do little more, and when he was done she went at him herself, using the very attack he had used against her but with her bow. She would not be going down without a fight.

Dodge: 9+3=12 HALF DAMAGE Votzhem takes 7 damage Votzhem attempts a Trip: 10+12=22 Ilyra must beat a 22 to not be tripped --- Votzhem twisted around as she attacked, mitigating the energy-laced damage of her arrow somewhat. He was impressed - it was a good shot. He decided to step up his game even more. He lunged... and suddenly dipped, kicking out at her legs. He didn't consider it playing dirty, of course. He was going all out for the glory of their tribe.

( + 13) = / 2 = Trying to avoid trip, must be more then 22 1 + 15 = 16, fail Ilyra is Powering up for this turn! Ilyra wasn't expecting this, not at all. Being tripped wasn't something that she thought would happen. Being unprepared as she was the attack worked, and it worked well. Losing her balance she fell to the floor. She got back up as quickly as she could, deciding to save some energy for her next attack.

He summoned forth Aisha's grace and beauty and attacked, blades shining like fangs as they bore down on her. He knew that he still had a ways to go, obviously, before the fight was over - his niece was tough, after all, and he wouldn't have it any other way. He could see, already, that she was readying herself for a fierce attack, and he welcomed it. For the glory of Aisha, and for the exercise of battle.

That she was able to just watch him do his magic. However that wasn't the case. As he came towards her Ilyra moved out of the way, not wanting to get hit by the attack that seemed to be willed by Aisha. Thankfully she was quick enough, and sent an arrow his way as soon as she knew she was safe. DraconicFeline I don't think I add the multiplier to the retaliate since I also used it for dodge?

Votzhem Counters! 6+12= 18 HIT 15+12 = 27/5= 5.4 damage incoming! Votzhem Powers up! +3 to next turn ---- Goddess's petals! Was she besting him? Votzhem felt a mixture of pride and annoyance, but in the end, that just meant that they were demonstrating what the Alkidikes really could do on the battlefield, a demonstration to strike fear and respect into the hearts of onlookers. Votzhem decided to try a new strategy - he swiped at her to buy distance and time, and took the opening to study her movements, readying himself for a more precise strike.

Then again she should've have been. Maybe it was because she was doing the best so far, or at least she felt she was, or maybe because they were both sisters of Aisha, but this was the best fight she had ever been in. She hoped everyone around was watching and proud, or at the very least impressed.
