Ujana moved with a confident swagger into the the arena. Her feet carried her to the center, where she knew all eyes would move towards her. Soon, she wouldn't be alone and the spectators would get a worthwhile show.
She waved to them, blowing a few kisses into the stands to nameless faces. It was addicting; she'd never had that many people cheer for her simply for entering something like this and the match hadn't even started yet. Maybe they just like her chances of winning; Ujana knew she did. A tall, broad physique with plenty of muscle to spare, and her sizable hammer completed the image. Still, she wasn't about to underestimate her opponent and end up on her butt in the dirt.
Although, when she saw that her opponent was an alkidike....Ujana wolf whistled and waggled her brows. "Come a little closer sweet thang, and let me get a good look at you." Of course, her version of getting in closer also meant raising her hammer for an attack. She swung, putting a great deal of force behind it.

Initially, Yitzah was unphased by the flirty, attention-hogging wind girl. She was too busy being unnerved by everything else - the crowds, the people, the... everything. She'd agreed to do this because she wanted to fight, but now she wasn't so sure.
The flirting startled her. "Huh?" she exclaimed, her eyes wide and staring. Oh. Damn. That was a hammer. The fight had started.
She dodged out of the way, barely escaping the hammer's fall. Her hastily shot arrow missed by a long shot and she grit her teeth, her every sense on high alert. Why, WHY was she doing this?

Ujana was both pleased and annoyed that the alk had dodged her blow. While she had obviously wanted to make contact, the dodge meant her opponent had some skill. It meant for an interesting fight, and as a fighting fool, she craved that sort of action.
Her luminescent gaze watched the arrow, passively registering that it was no where near her. Either her opponent had missed on purpose to distract her from a coming blow, or Ujana's skills had clearly intimidated her. Feeling much more confident with the latter, she hoisted the hammer above her head and made a downward swing.

This was not going well. She fired off another arrow - another miss - and snarled something wordless and frustrated. She wasn't supposed to be this bad at this.

Another miss? If she hadn't seen alkidike fighting with her own eyes Ujana might have thought differently about their fierce reputations. Evidently not all of their kind were skilled warriors!
Evidently her opponent was feeling the frustration of her misses as well. In response to the snarl, Ujana just smirked, "What's the matter? Am I not a big enough target for you?" Which was a pretty low blow, considering just how huge Ujana was for her kind. She side stepped on the hard packed dirt of the arena, and moved her hammer into an upward thrust. Hopefully this one would make solid contact!

Too out of breath to voice some sort of insulting reply, Yitzah instead nocked an arrow and let it fly, trying not to shake with rage at her own ineffectiveness... and at the other girl's mockery... the dumb bushi...

Oh, this was fun.
Half of the spectators cheered her on, while the others hurled insults at her and cheered for her opponent. It was so exciting! Why had she never tried something like this before? Even the burning sensation of an arrow grazing the skin of her bicep wasn't enough to deter Ujana. It wasn't enough to do any major damage, but just enough to remind her that her opponent was armed; something she hoped to rectify soon.
If she could separate her from that bow and give her a good licking then this would all be over.
Ujana rushed in, and used her momentum to bring her hammer in hard, aiming for Yitzah's side.

"Stop running around, and take a hit already!" Fun or not, lugging this big thing around wasn't easy! Her muscles, even as used to hard labor as they were, had begun to tire. An arrow hit the flesh just above her right hip. It didn't sink in far enough to cause big damage, but she did have to pause long enough to rip it out of her top. Thankfully her shirt had provided enough resistance to keep her from obtaining a worse injury.
Still, that didn't mean that she liked having her favorite top blood stained. Especially when it wasn't her blood!
Hoping to land a final blow, Ujana hoisted her hammer up once more and moved it in for a downward attack.
DraconicFeline You can't dodge them forever, Yitzah. Muhahaha.

"No!" she said belligerently, clearly annoyed with the leaf girl, "YOU stand still and take a hit, you... you..." she struggled for an insult, "Green... Goober!" Yitzah had no idea whether that meant anything, but it was good enough. Flushed in anger, Yitzah took a moment to calm herself. To collect herself. To focus. What was she doing, running aorund being an idiot?! She was a huntress. She had to act like one if she wanted to beat this girl's smug face!

Ujana whistled, low and wolfishly. "Oh ho ho! So you DO have spunk!" This was pleasantly surprising! She wanted to win, but she also wanted to have fun with it.
Swinging her hammer may have been tiring, but dodging had to be just as exhausting. Ujana knew that sooner or later the alkidike would slip up, then she would whallop her! "Come on sunshine, can't you do better than this? HIT ME. It's not like I'm hiding!" Once more she brought her hammer in from the side, though with notably less force than before.

She was breathing heavily, eyes wide and desperate for any sign that the tide was going to turn. The hammer connected with her side and she reeled, grimacing in pain, before taking her shot. It was, definitely, not her best shot. She growled, wordlessly, too stressed and tired for anything less animal than that. The other woman's words soaked into her, but were for the time being meaningless. Why did people talk so much? Why did this one have to resist Yitzah's every attempt to fight her? It was so annoying.
