It wasn't often you saw someone sweep the floor with so much energy, and even for Autumn there was more effervescence in the action than normal. "Care to fill me in on the good news?"

cream and sugarAutumn gave a delighted twirl with the broom, and turned to beam at her adopted mom. At this point in time, she looked the perfect part of a Disney princess, singing and cleaning.
"Oh, nothing important," Autumn teased, and yes, she was most certainly giggling girlishly. "Only that I have, like. The most perfect boyfriend ever, now."

"But like. He's a carpenter, and so he's hella tall and really muscular. Super hottie mc hot. Like, looks like he walked out of playgirl. What else." She tapped her chin, thinking.
"He's super supportive of all this magical s**t, and he really likes me. Like, for me. It's so awesome." Then, under her breath, "and the sex is great."

cream and sugarIt would, in fact, be several days later. Autumn would only be aware of the pun mid-coitus, and then get so ******** angry it would completely ruin the mood. But that was neither here nor there.
"He's super amazing, seriously. I'm kind of crazy about him." She sighed dreamily, then turned back to Eve with an embarrassed flush on her face.
"And yes, I'm being safe!!! In every sense!!! I take Wrap It Before You Tap It super seriously!!!"

"I'm not gonna try to argue with you. If you trust her... I guess, in a way, I trust her too," Autumn gave her begrudgingly, staring at her teacup miserably.
"Just... please be careful? I'm scared. I really am," She confessed, lost in the ripples of her green tea. "I've gotten ******** by Other Ashdown. Hard. But..." Autumn swallowed thickly.
"I haven't been dealt half the s**t hand you have, mom. You've. Well. Your legs, and... and everything. If something happens to you because I wasn't ready for it, I'll never forgive myself. Ever." She hiccuped, just a bit, but goddamn Autumn was NOT going to cry.
"If something happens... call me. Immediately. I can. I can heal fresh wounds. Not old s**t, but I can make sure nothing too bad happens to you. Not again."

beginning of the endIt was touching and beautiful and there were tears, you guys. Actual ******** tears on their faces. Healthy communication of expectations and fears and s**t. Good mother/daughter relationship, etc. etc. Lots of tea drinking and feelings jams.

no tea for the enemyJeremiah was due to restock on tea. Algie and him had been drinking more of late and even combining their resources did not make up for the fact that stress apparently lead to more tea (and alcohol but that was beside the point). As he was opening the door to the Equinox he was immediately looking for Eve. Just because he was looking forward to telling her he had really enjoyed her last recommendation.

no tea for the enemy"Hi, Jeremiah. That time of the week again?" Eve's tone had just a touch of playful cheekiness as she looked up from her Kindle to greet the detective. He didn't actually show up once a week, but often enough that it might as well have been the case.
