act 1:
shishi the military cadet powers: to influence what others see
shishi uses her powers to change how other trolls see her blood hue and has lived up until this point as an orangeblood (every bit helps)
she strikes up a friendship with the other cadets, and gets along very welll with the greenblood in her brigade. together they train and learn what their skills and talents are. shishi finds that with her power she is especially good at moving about unnoticed. (a well oiled machine)
shishi is under the command of a new blueblood captain who is interested in her from the start and pushes her to achieve more. (my pet) one day they push her to the point of exhaustion and she passes out, revealing her true blood colour.
shishi wakes up in a cel, and assumes this is her end (i hear a voice) however the blueblood offers to release her and secure her safety - in return for her swearing her loyalty to the blueblood. unbeknownst to shishi, the blueblood sees her powers as a tool they can use to make themselves look better, and while shishi sings about how the blueblood calling them is a mesiah-given message, they sing about how they can hear a voice describing how great they will become in the future with her as their tool.
the blueblood takes shishi's hand and they leave the cel. end act 1
act 2:
shishi the pilot
shishi, her blueblood captain, and a crew of the other cadets from act 1 have just entered deep space after leaving the planet. shishi's dreams of life with the blueblood are shattered as they constantly ask her to use her powers for mundane and petty things, to impress the other crew trolls, and to make the blueblood look good to the ship's pityable greenblood. (swoon for the captain)
shishi finds her feelings for the blueblood darkening as they abuse her and treat her like a machine. she wishes she could strike back, but remember her vow and admits to herself that without the blueblood she might be dead today, hung for falsifying her blood colour. she thinks about the dark romances she's read about and wonders why this just feels suffocating. (my savior)
a fleet of alien ships engage, and the crew does battle. however the blueblood panics and the crew has to scramble under no leadership. they defeat the enemies, however the greenblood was killed in a engine room fire during combat. (engage!)
the blueblood orders shishi to use her powers in the report back to alternia, and to make trolls viewing the report video to see the greenblood alive. shishi is sickened and after the video is sent she stands up to the blueblood, accusing them of only caring about their own skin and not about their crew. they fight, and the blueblood takes shishi's eye. (to my face) end act 2
act 3:
shishi the scout
shishi and the blueblood are now in a full open black romance after the death of the greenblood and their fight, although shishi is torn between it and actually wanting the blueblood dead. she did promise her loyalty to the blueblood though and instead talks out her frustrations to a picture of the dead greenblood when she's alone, as they're the only one she can talk to without breaking her vows. (you won't believe it)
the crew lands on a reportedly deserted planet to investigate a distress beacon. the blueblood again fails to lead properly, letting the crew get split up, caught in storms, and mauled by wildlife. eventually they are pinned down as alien fighter drones destroy the surviving members of the cadets, and shishi is knocked unconscious. (every star is an enemy)
when shishi comes to, the only surviving members of the troupe are her and the badly injured blueblood, who begs shishi to carry them to safety, promising to change their ways and do whatever she wants. shishi realizes that while the blueblood has helped to make her stronger in many ways, their relationship has done nothing but make the blueblood weaker, and it is not a sustainable black one. she leaves the blueblood, telling them that they need to toughen up and get to safety on their own. (not your crutch)
shishi then strikes out on her own towards the distress beacon, leaving the dying blueblood and the remains of her old crew behind her. (army of one) end act 3.
act 4:
shishi the soldier
shishi finally makes it to the location of the distress beacon, a crew of much more grizzled and experienced trolls. they have found a secret underground nest of space bees (SPACE BEES!) that are about to hatch and will decimate the alternian troops if left unattended. shishi joins the crew and they set out into the planet's core.
as they go deeper, sneaking past the bees thanks to shishi's power, shishi is alternately lectured, comforted, frightened, and inspired by the old crew, made up entirely of lowbloods. they help her learn to fully appreciate the talents and habits that she brings to a battlefield as a lowblood. (the good old rust brigade)
eventually they get to the center of the bee hive, plant an explosive, and the crew's own psychic teleport shishi back to their own ship. however, she realizes that they left behind one of their own, as their psychic cannot teleport that many trolls. they tell her that the one behind agreed to be the troll to stay and detonate the explosive from the start, and that they were willing to sacrifice themselves for the survival and glory of the alternian army and race. (*insert alternian national anthem here cough propaganda cough*)
the crew welcome shishi abord as one of them, and with her as their replacement crew member, they sail off into space to fight more battles. (it's a long flight home) end act 4
act 5:
shishi the veteran
finally returned to alternia after her tour of duity is over, and at the rank of captain, shishi reminisces on all the adventures she's had in space. she sings about all the trolls she met and loved and pitied and hated that came and went and mourns for her comrades who died thanks to the nasty wasty rebels tricking gylgolyb and killing 99% of the army. she ends by saying while they were ready to die fighting, so was she, and she worries that stuck on the planet the way she is, she'll fade into obscurity. (is this the end)
shishi oversees new recruits, sending them to the caverns searching for a new matriorb, training trolls who signed up after the old hemisect riots, and praises a few who catch her eye **i would love for these to be thinly disguised parodies of regina's current favs aka tamiya eostre sarcel alifax and kursha** - comparing them to herself when she was a cadet in a humorous but hopeful ballad. (you will call me sir)
in her hive one day, shishi is unable to sleep and again brings up her worries about dying in obscurity. as she frets the ghost of the blueblood comes to her and mocks her, saying that when she goes no one will remember her and she'll be as unmourned as they were. (i hear a voice - reprise)
shishi then goes to a formal dinner held by the queen to honour the new generation as well as surviving legends from the old. she and all her SUPER GREAT FRIENDS rutven, comedi, and puchen sit around and compare boasts about their past deeds. (stronger! faster! bloodier) until a fire breaks out.
it's a trap by the hostess, awassi, who wants to kill all the new generation due to bitter resentment over themselves having the same fear as shishi - becoming irrelevant. rutven, comedi and puchen all run in a panic due to fearing death. shishi realizes that she has to save all the younger trolls there, and challanges awassi to a one on one fight while the rest of the trolls flee. shishi and awassi duel, while both remarking on how they and their enemy are not as strong as they remembered from the past (harder to stand tall) until shishi stabs awassi through the heart.
however, shishi has inhaled a lot of smoke and collapses, realizing that the fire has grown too large for her to escape. as she lies dying, the ghosts of her first crew surround her and tell her that she got her wish, and that she will not fade away into obscurity, but be remembered in the hearts and minds of every troll here today. rest of the cast gathers on stage and lift schrad up to carry her off to w/e troll paradise (the redblood captain) END ACT 5 CURTAIN DOWN CURTAIN UP APPLAUS E APPLAUSE
